Miguel O’Hara x Bunny! Male Reader
-
|| Masterlist ||
-
Authors note: I’ve had this idea in my head for a very long time now and couldn’t stop thinking about it! This is technically an OC of mine but tried my best not to make there characteristics too detailed or anything that gives away too much OC. This is also an inspiration from MLB, I don’t care if it’s a kid show I have a love and hate relationship towards it and had some things changed for the character, either way hope you enjoy!
Summary: Miguel was the protector of multi universes, what happens when he meets someone who isn’t a spider and is able to do the same, protecting the timeline and making sure that it doesn’t get destroyed, changing the future and clashing within Miguel’s line of work.
Warnings: Angst, reader is a hybrid, time traveling, semi crossover, not mucha of Miguel honestly, language, slight lore, betrayal, hurt no comfort, mentions of genocide, slight depression, enemies to friends but not lovers, slight magic use, miguel is a bit OOC, bunny ears and tail, slight fluff, coping mechanism, readers hero name is Bunnix.

In his universe hybrids and humans co existed. In his universe he was a rabbit hybrid born in a large family with many siblings, in his universe he was seen as a monster due to the things he was able to do as a hybrid. His sense of smell was stronger, his hearing better than others and faster that a normal human being. He had the features of a rabbit, long ears and a tail big enough that reached his lower back, who he tends to have issues with whenever it came towards buying clothes for himself since most stores didn’t have much clothes for hybrids that he worked for hours making a hole big enough for his tail and to make sure that it didn’t pinch each time he slipped them on.
He was a normal hybrid trying to survive in a world where he is hated and possibly taken advantage of whenever rabbits fall into heat. He worked at a normal job and had a normal family until at the age of twenty he received a gift, heirloom to be exact from his great grand father who he watched him grow an eventually passed away when he was only a teenage. Y/n would visit his grandfather as a kid, listening to him ramble on about his past life and the things he saw and did.
Due to Y/n being a kid he would believe his stories while his own parents, even his siblings wouldn’t believe their grandfather as he spoke about time traveling and seeing their futures. Everyone disregarded his stories as plain fairytales or crazy due to how old he was getting and growing delusional that no one listened to him, but Y/n.
After his grandfathers death he left his will to the rest of his family, providing his parents and siblings small things. He never received anything that day and thought that his own grandfather hated him and that the idea of leaving something behind to the only child who listened to him was ridiculous. Only to be proven wrong when his grandfathers lawyer approached him that day and told him that his grandfather did leave him something, but was not ready to receive until he got older.
After years he finally got that gift.
When the package arrived he was quick to claim the box into his hands and dart towards his bedroom, closing and locking the door. He knew his family should be around to see what he received from his late grandfather, but something inside him was telling him to do it in private. When getting the package opened he’s met with a letter folded on top of a small box that he picks up to read, noticing his grandfathers handwriting.
My dear child,
I hope this gift got to you at the proper age that I assigned.
And hope for you to take very good care of it.
All those years you were the only one who listened to my stories of my time as a time travel and wish to gift you my most prized possession.
A watch.
This item will show you everything you need to see. It was once my duty to take care of the future and to make sure that no interruptions were made and to decide the right path that our world must face. I know this duty will be hard for you, but I trust that you will know how to use it. I only advice that you do not let this power blind you and don’t let others tell you what is right and wrong of your duty.
If you accept this gift then you will be in charge of our future.
Y/n had opened the small box that held a silver pocket watch, picking it up in his hands as he examined the outside before popping it open. Instead of seeing a regular watch on the inside a bright blue light quickly surrounds him, seeping into his body as his grandfathers life flashes before his eyes, witnessing the pain and suffering he went through, the glee of saving a future, the hesitation of having to choose the wrong path in order to save another. He saw his grandfather at a much younger state and the power that he held in the palm of his hand.
Everything went by fast that when he opens his eyes he’s still in his bedroom, panting heavily knowing that his life changed forever that night.
He figured that he watch helped for this moment only to realize that the pocket watch worked as a safe for his power that was deep inside of him, feeling it coursing through his veins. He kept the gift from his grandfather a secret from his family, knowing that they wouldn’t believe him. If they didn’t believe his grandfather than why believe him?
The hybrid would spend every night trying to practice his ability, which grew difficult since his grandfather never really left instructions on how it worked. He didn’t figure out how to open a portal until three weeks later when he was playing around with a ball and bouncing it against the wall of his apartment, bored out of his mind that when the ball bounced off the wall and towards his open palm, all of a sudden white portal opens, startling the poor rabbit with wide eyes as the ball disappears into the portal.
When first seeing the portal he grows cautious, primal instincts triggering him as his ears fall flat against his head while he nervous reached inside the portal, his hand disappearing and when pulling away he is surprised to see his hand still intact. It took him a few minutes to finally gain the courage and step through the portal where he finds himself in a white abyss full of different portals that showed him the timeline of his universe, witnessing future events before his eyes and being able to see the various outcomes of a future event. He’s able to jump from one timeline to another, visiting different areas and seeing their world before he was even born. The amount of power he had was dangerous and now realized what his grandfather meant by how hard the job would be. Having to keep everything organized, making sure that everything is intact.
Y/n first started off small, seeing his friends future and fixing their life events, picking paths that worked best for them. He sometimes felt guilty for picking a path that didn’t work out for them, but didn't;t have a choice but to decide a bad path in order to get a better one with time. He had the control of the future in the palm of his hand.
It wasn’t until three years that he made his biggest mistake.
His world was going through a war with hybrids and humans and the human government had seen the hybrids as a threat, claiming that they didn’t feel safe living, eating, or working with someone who was different to them. Someone who could do things that no human could and were coming up with ways to exterminate everyone who they saw as a threat. Y/n was only twenty three when he witness the genocide of his people, watching as his family and siblings were separated from him, being taken away. He climbed inside his burrow that night, checking the different outcomes of his worlds future hoping to find a positive end to this situation only to find nothing.
His people were meant to die and he couldn’t save them.
That day, Y/n stayed in his burrow, watching his world kill his own people until none were left but him.
Leaving him on his own without his family or friends, without the comfort of someone like him. Y/n had mourned for days, feeling so alone as he watched his universe future thrive without hybrids, watching as humans celebrated the extinction. The image alone hurt and wanted nothing to do with his own world that with time in the burrows he figures out a way to travel through different universe, alternate ones where his family is alive and safe, ones where he and his family never existed.
Even though he was suppose to keeping things small and protect the future of his own universe he decided to expand his work and protect the future of all universe, traveling from one place to another, hopping from dimension to dimension. The hybrid spent six years learning new things and setting his own rules of balancing out the future.
Each time he visited a dimension he made sure to keep his identity hidden, wearing a black and blue neon stealth suit with a hoodie over that allowed his ears to pop out from the holes he created along with a domino mask over his eyes along with a hole in his suit for his tail as he worked faster in the suit whenever he needed to escape a universe before being noticed.
The hybrid would also spend his time in universes, either trying to coexist or to stay in for awhile since he couldn’t stay in his burrow forever. He mainly stayed hidden on top of large buildings or found ways inside empty apartments in order to get away from the harsh weather conditions. He didn’t think much of his disturbance when hopping from universe to universe until one night he met a flash of red and blue.
He was visiting a earth-4837, noticing an error in the timeline that he’d been trying to fix only for his ears to perk up at the sound of fast movements, catching him off guard as he’s suddenly pinned against the ground, gasping for air at how hard and sudden the push was and regain his breathing only to come face to face with a larger build that stood before him.
“Finally caught you.”
Y/n can only stare with wide eyes under his mask, ears falling back against his head in both worry and fear as he stares at the mask stranger before him. It takes a few seconds for his brain to respond back to him as he tilts his head to he side with furrow brows. “What, what do you mean caught?” He asks, clearly confused.
He can feel the other man’s grip tighten around his stealth suit, pulling him closer as his eyes narrow down at the hybrid. “I have been chasing you through universe and you are always escaping me. You keep disturbing the universes.” He clarified. “Now I have to take you back to your proper universe.”
At the mention of being returned back to his own universe caused a switch to go off in him, reacting quickly as he grips the others mans wrist, using his own strength to kick his feet up and kick him in the chest, sending him falling back with a grunt. The hybrid watched as the masked man coughs under his mask and groan, placing a hand against his chest as he slowly sits up. “Shit, that was a really strong kick.”
Y/n finds satisfaction in the mans words only to gasp when he comes charging at him, making him move quickly and ducking away from his grip, reacting quickly as his instincts as a rabbit take over.
“I am not going back there.” He hissed out, ears pinned back and tail puffing up in anger while the other turns around to face him, taking notice of the movement of his ears and tail. “Those things are real? I thought they were some weirds thing that went along with the suit you wear.”
“I could say the same about those.” Y/n nods towards the strangers hands, noticing the talons from his finger tips. “Thought they were fake, but I guess they aren’t if you have a good grip on that building.”
His words cause the stranger to look over at his hand, talons deep into the wall that he had struck after coming after the hybrid and letting out a small laugh as he detached himself from the wall. “Now you listen—“ When turning back he finds the rabbit gone, earning a disappointed groan.
“Lyla.” He speaks up as the artificial intelligences appears on his shoulder. “Yep?”
“Find me the rabbit.”
From then on, Y/n’s grew careful of his work now that someone as after him. Spending more time in his burrow and less time in other universe and whenever he was in one he would make sure to stay in alert while buying himself to eat and keeping his features hidden from the public, trying to blend in with everyone else.
He figured that he wouldn’t see that same masked stranger again until a week later. He didn’t know how he got involved, but one minute he’s working on keeping a stable future and the next he’s being tossed around by a man dressed in a rhino suit.
“You okay? Whoa—never seen you before.”
That’s how he met the cities hero known as Spiderman.
His suit was similar to the guy who was hunting him down for some unknown reason, but this one was far nicer than the other. The hybrid got a good feeling about the kid and was quick to jump in and help him out as the two take down the rhino, Spider-Man using his webs to keep him from running off while Y/n worked on getting rid of the suit in breaking it apart.
“We make a good team.”
Y/n can only give a small smile. “Guess we did.”
The kid can only tilt his head in questioning and asks. “What do I call you?”
Y/n hesitates, not wanting to give away his own name and doesn’t know how to respond. The hero takes notice of his hesitation and is quick to step in. “I guess you don’t have a hero name?”
“I’m not a hero.” He is quick to cut in, his work wasn’t seen as a heroic thing.
“No worries,” The hero holds his hands up as he suddenly blurts out. “Bunnix.”
“What?”
“Bunnix, can I call you that?”
Y/n thinks about the name and can’t help but feel comfortable with it, finding it fitting. “Sure.”
That day he was given a new name by the cities hero who he later befriends. Y/n doesn’t tell this universe Spider-Man why he was there and what he did, only following him whenever he needed help and fighting off the villains in the city while Bunnix did his work on the side. There’s moments where he’s given the opportunity to save a future while working alongside with Spider-Man, fixing them without notice and when checking his work he left in shock by how much he is able to do.
Things were working well while staying in that universe and once again he let his guard down this time he’s met with the same stranger after helping Spider-Man fight off electro. His body was already sore from all the fighting and tired and all he wanted to do was get back to his place where he could lie down and relax only to be picked off the ground which shocks him.
Eyes wide as he frantically squirmed and looked up to see the familiar red and blue. “You!” He points at him with a deep glare, yelping when he nearly slips from his grasp, the rabbit holds back a cry as he climbs the mans body, keeping his legs and arms wrapped around him. “Hey! I can’t see!”
“Put me down!”
“How can I do that when you are blocking my vision?!”
The two banter with each other while the spider swings through the city, unable to see where he is going as he pries the hybrids hands away from his eyes only to see a building up ahead. The two scream and prepare for impact, but Bunnix is quick to act, opening a portal as they fall through it and opening another at a building where they fall on top of.
The same stranger groans as he lands on his back with the hybrid on his chest.
“How—?”
Bunnix scrambled off his chest, stepping away from him. “You could have killed us!”
“Kill you? You were the one blocking my sight!”
“You picked me up out of nowhere! Rabbit don’t do heights!” He shouted back at the man who slowly stood and rolled his shoulders, easing the pain from the hard fall. “Okay, I’m sorry, but also not because I am still here to take you back.”
“I already told you I am not going back to my universe.” Bunnix groans out, shaking his head while rubbing his temples. “I can’t have you roaming around universe, your disturbing them and I am fixing up your mess.”
Bunnix ears perk up at this. “Wait…what do you mean by fixing them?”
“Look, I don’t know what it is that you are doing but each time that you end up at a universe you cause a disturbance that can destroy timelines, let alone canons so I have to fix them—“ Before he can go on, the rabbit cuts him off. “You can fix them too?”
The others raises a brow. “What do you mean, too?”
Bunnix doesn’t know what to think, the fact that someone else is able to do the same as him leaves him in surprise. The hybrid allows himself to take small steps towards the man as he explains himself. “I can travel through universes without issue, my job is to fix the future and to make sure that no disturbance is caused whether good or bad its my job to protect it. I can’t go back to my universe because…” He hesitates before finding the courage. “My universe co existed with hybrids and humans and a genocide occurred with my people, I tried to fix it to find a better outcome of our future but found nothing and had no choice but to watch as the people I love die. I escaped and continued on with my duty and if I go back they will kill me.” His voice is full of sorrow and pain, not being able to read the others reaction towards his past.
He hears the other sigh softly, hand on his hip as he thinks. “That explains everything, all this time I thought you were an anomaly but your not your—your something else.” He finally says, understanding that the disturbances are the outcomes that Bunnix choose in order to improve the universe, at first Miguel thought that he was only making a bigger mess and whenever he checked on a canon expecting some mess he had to fix, instead he saw the canon already fixed for him.
Which only raised questions to the older man, giving him another reason to come after the hybrid.
As the two stand apart from each other it’s Miguel who speaks up.
“I’m not taking out back.” He finally says. “But I would be interested in seeing your work, perhaps you can help me.”
Bunnix raises a brow. “Help how?”
“You fix futures and I fix canons, together we can protect the universe from being destroyed.” His words intrigue the hybrid as he stares at the man before him, eyeing him up an down before sighing to himself and agreeing to his offer to protect the universe. “Good.” The rabbit flinched in surprise when the man’s masked is removed, dissolving away to reveal his own face. “I’m Miguel.”
Bunnix swallows nervously, but gains the courage to speak up as he reached up to remove his own mask. “Y/n.”
==
Y/n ends up working with Miguel in his universe for two years, being the only hybrid in base while everyone else was a spider felt off to him. Everyone knew him as Miguels second hand since he was their from the very beginning. Everyone thought that Jessica was Miguel’s best spider only to find out that its Bunnix. A simple hybrid that didn’t belong in any universe, but powerful enough to change anyone’s future and seeing that they couldn't.
His time working with Miguel made him realize how much the other spiders feared their leader due to his short temperament and the fact that he too had a beast inside of him. He once caught Miguel taking a serum that helped control the beast within him. At first the hybrid didn’t think anything of it until he decided to test a few things out, noticing how Miguel was sensitive to the bight lights and often kept his own lab under dim lighting, the noticeable fangs whenever he talked and now he used them in order to paralyze the anomalies that struggled the most. He already knew about the talons on the base of his finger tips, curious about them that he once approached Miguel and without asking he takes the mans hand into his hand and checks out the talons.
Miguel stares with a raised brow as the rabbit only hums to himself before dropping his hand back down and jumping off the platform while he continued on with his discoveries. Technically Miguel was a hybrid himself, but refused to say anything about it, Miguels own animalistic features bring some light comfort to the rabbit, feeling like he wasn’t alone anymore.
From their time together the two have grown comfortable around each others presence that Bunnix didn’t fear Miguels temper and whenever he grew upset about something going wrong during a mission he would usually come to Bunnix and rant to him, letting his anger out while the rabbit sat back and listened, watching the bigger man pace around the lab as he grumbled on about one of the spiders not listening to him.
Other times Miguel had grown to admire the rabbits tail, noticing how it flicked and twitched with each movement he made that without even asking his large hand reached down to touch the tail, fingers finding the soft fur while the hybrid tensed up. He’s caught by surprise and should yell at miguel to not touch him without asking, but the feeling of having someone touch his tail after so many years only brings back old memories of his family. He expected Miguel to be rough with his tail only to realize that the man was gentle, stroking the fur while he also concentrated on his own work.
It became a habit for Miguel to randomly touch Bunnix’s tail whenever he felt stress, feeling better after playing with the soft fur.
Their routine together grew and their trust for each other deepened.
Y/n only stepped into the whole canon issue whenever a screw up occurred, stepping into his burrow and meeting with Miguel two days before the moment happens, providing him instructions on how to handle the issue and what to do to fix it. Miguel had grown used to such moments happening, where the rabbit is hopping from past and future to present again.
The two worked well together and treated each other with respect.
As the spider society began to grow, Y/n started to see how alike everyone was and how their canons aligned with each other. He never questions Miguel as to why the canon events must remain intact or what would happen if one were to be broke. He kept those questions to himself while he watched Miguel command different spiders into different universe and getting the job done while also keeping the canons together.
It wasn’t until Miles came into the picture, he noticed a slight change in Miguel as their time together grew. The taller man used to be so blunt with him until he started hesitating that the hybrid started to notice. It felt like Ike he was hiding something from him and didn’t want him to know, as irritating as it was, Y/n would sometimes feel the itch to check his burrow, in hopes of finding his answer his questions, but promised himself that he wouldn’t due such thing. He could never look at his own future or know what to expect.
Bunnix had been working in the lab when Miles and Gwen show up alongside with Hobie, glancing at the teenagers while he works on a few of Miguel’s new gadgets.
“Oh! This is Bunnix, Miguels most trusted hero.” Said Gwen while giving Bunnix a soft smile while the hybrid nods in return before his gaze shifts towards Miles, noticing how the kids eyes widen a bit in surprise as he noticed his state. “I can tell from your staring you’ve never seen a hybrid before?” Said Bunnix with a raised brow.
Miles stutters out a nervous laugh. “I’ve seen weirder things.” The kids admits, avoiding his eyes while Bunnix chuckled and got back to his own work and allows them to approach Miguel. Y/n looks over his shoulder and watched as the platform lowers, rolling his eyes at how dramatic the man can be when trying to show intimidation.
The hybrid sets his work aside and turns around it make his way over to Miguel as the platform lowers only to gasp when a trash bin is thrown towards the teens way, causing the hybrid to react quickly as he grabs Miles by the arm and pulls him to the side, away from the hit.
Miles stares up at the hybrid who glared over to Miguel. “Miguel what the hell?!” Bunnix shouts, letting go of Miles once he checks him over and then turns his attention back to Miguel who ignored him and continued with his own rant. Y/n has never seen Miguel react in such way before, yes he had a temper, but it was never this bad.
The rabbit walks over to Miguel and jumps onto the platform. “What is going on with you?” He whispers low enough for Miguel to hear only to get a side eye from the bigger man a sense of irritation in his eyes before turning back to the teens. His actions only worry Bunnix even more, knowing that something wasn’t right as he takes a small step back.
His instincts were kicking in, telling him to run to hide, but from what?
While Miguel is distracted talking to Gwen and Miles, he takes the opportunity to step out of the lab, getting away from the others as he opens a portal and steps through, stepping inside his burrow and closing the portal behind him.
He’s surrounded by various timelines and universe, swallowing nervously as he approached one of them and placed his palm over it. Watching the scene before him as Miguel explains to Miles about the canons, fast forwarding Miles finding out about his father needing out die in order to keep the canon from breaking, from Miles escaping and Miguel chasing down the kid.
“No, no, what is happening.” He whispers as he steps away from the timeline and approached another with Miguel and Miles, watching as he chased the kid through the city. He can see the anger in Miguel’s body language, talons digging into the buildings and it sets an alarm off in the rabbit. He fast forwards to see the outcome, only for an additional timeline to show up, raising his ears in surprise as he moves over to check the two outcomes.
His looks into both outcomes, noticing how a third timeline appears. He’s never seen something like this before and it interests him as he checks everything figuring out the good and bad the right and wrong of his own choices that he is to make. When he connects all outcome together to create a new future he takes a step back, knowing that his next step could possibly ruin the trust he had with Miguel, but knew that it was the right thing to do.
It was his duty to protect the future.
The hybrid lets out a deep breath, extending out the palm of his hand as he opens a portal, jumping through and quickly holding onto the rail of the train that everyone clung onto. He can see as Miguel held Miles down, pinning him down as he shouted to the kid about how much of a mistake he was and how he wasn’t suppose to be a hero.
He can see the hurt in Miles eyes when hearing Miguels words only for it to grow worse when he finds out that his own friends knew the truth the entire time and never told him.
Bunnix holds on tight to the railing his movement getting Miguels attention, noticing the opened portal above them and hardening his stare. “I can’t let you go back.” Said Miguel, looking back to Miles as his grip on his shoulders tightened. “Bunnix, take him back to the lab.” His voice is full of demand, expecting the hybrid to listen and to take the kid back only to see no movement.
Miguel looks up to Y/n with a hint of confusion in his eyes. “Bunnix.” He hissed out towards the hybrid who can only frown.
Holding onto the rial he used his back leg to push himself up, eyes full of guilt. “I’m sorry.” He says, using the strength of his legs to push himself forward. “I have to protect the timeline.”
Miguels eyes widen when he finally realizes what he means, reacting too late as the hybrid uses his legs to kick Miguel off of Miles, sending him flying back. Y/n is quick to grab Miles, not letting the kid speak before giving Miguel one last look and jumping through his portal and disappearing from sight.
Both Y/n and Miles roll through the burrow together. “What—“ Miles starts as he stands from where he lies, only for his eye to widen. “What is this place?”
Bunnix grunts, getting up and rushing over to the kid, covering his eyes. “don’t look.” His voice is low and dangerous. He couldn’t allow anyone to see what he sees, not even Míguel had the privilege to look into his burrow.
“Hold on!” Miles starts again, reaching out to try and pry Y/n’s hands off his eyes, but Y/n tightens his hold. “You can’t see this, if you do it will alter the future and I can’t have that. happening, not now.” He is guiding Miles around his burrow, checking the different timelines while the kid began to ask.
“Why did you save me?”
The hybrids ears raise at his question before they fall back, forgetting to explain to him. “I know what Miguel is only trying to do his job into keeping the canons from breaking, but…I also have a job of my own which is to keep the future safe. I saw the outcome of Miguel’s doing and I had to fix it.” His voice is soft while leading the kid around, keeping his hands over his eyes still until he finds what he is looking for.
“Wait, so you can see the future?” Miles looks over his shoulder while Bunnix sighs, knowing his next questions as he opens the portal to where he is to take Miles, stepping through and into the rain. The sound gets the kids attention and his eyes are uncovered, looking around in confusion and then turning back to Bunnix who stood before him.
“I know you want to know if you make it to your dad on time.” Said Bunnix. “I know what happens, Miles and it’s something I cannot reveal. I decided that this path works best, whether its good or bad its the right one.” Miles is staring at Bunnix with a look of determination and desperation wanting to know if his own father make sit out of the situation alive and if he’s able to save him before its too late.
As Miles opens his mouth to speak again he is cut off by Bunnix holding his hand up, stopping him.
Y/n gives the kid a sad smile already knowing that Miguel possibly hates him for what he’s done. “Your path goes on, mine ends here.” At this point their is nothing he can do for him, knowing that Miguel will be searching for him and the only way to stay hidden without getting caught would be in his burrow until everything is complete.

The Naiad au (Scrapped)
EDIT: 17/11/2023 I have decided to rework this series, so this story won't continue, instead there will be a new one with the same concept.
-slight idv and genshin crossover, the mc is an OC and has female pronouns
-english is not my first language
TW: SAGAU, Cult au, imposter au, mentions of death, drowning
part 1 , This is part 2
authors note: if i am correct this part was 1.5k words;; i was so unmotivated to edit i should try to find a beta/editor, sorry for the writing mistakes
She looked up towards the sky from the ocean floor staring at it for a while. While she managed to survive she had no idea what to do. Going to the surface was probably a very bad idea in case she ran into those villagers again, for now she should explore her surroundings.
To swim in the sea came surprisingly easy for her, she was never an excellent swimmer but the way she moved felt eerily natural. She came to realize she did not need to move her arms. Her legs and perhaps something else (a power she did not understand) did most of the work.
Oxygen was not a problem either, she idly wondered if she had gills somewhere on her body.
She swam in between some kelps and fishes. There was, yellow, green and red big huge vines which she saw in between too. The floor beneath was a vibrant green shade, everything here was so colorful and beautiful. It felt so alive and thriving. She would have thought that the ocean deep beneath was darker, murkier and scarier but she fell in awe the more she saw.
She looked up and saw the sun giving the water above a golden hue, soon the sun would set but she did not feel afraid at the thought of the dark.
The ocean was mostly empty of any dangers. There were so many colorful schools of fishes swimming around, occasionally she would see a big fish that would look like a predator but they would never come to her and harm her. Perhaps she did not look tasty to them?
At the thought of food she did feel slightly hungry but it wasn't anything too urgent, yet it was best to find something to eat now while she could. She looked around and saw some seaweed. She did remember seaweed could be edible and the water here looked clean, there was no harm right?
At most it would perhaps taste gross, she tore off some of the seaweed and hesitantly took a bite. The taste was not unpleasant, it tasted salty and the texture was not slimy like she expected but rather a bit rubbery. She happily took another bite, the best part there was a lot of seaweed so the chances of her running out of it was very low. While eating her impromptu lunch-dinner she did not notice a few fish appearing beside her. When she noticed them she looked at them curiously one of them came near her face and bumped into her mouth.
She was rather confused and she started to laugh. While laughing the fish entered her mouth which caused her to panic, which caused her to choke and then her trying to get the fish out of her mouth. She looked at the troublemaking fish she finally caught in her hand in confusion.
What was going on?
in her peripheral she saw one of the larger fish approach her, it looked like a salmon but she was not sure. The larger fish approached one of the smaller fishes and opened its mouth, she could see the fish's sharp teeth. The smaller fish then willingly entered the pseudo salmon's mouth much to her shock.
The salmon then began to eat the smaller fish all while looking at her and she could not help but to think of the smaller fish's earlier actions. They wanted her to eat them?
This was all too confusing. Fish are not supposed to behave like this, since when did prey willingly enter a predator's mouth? The fish in her hand wiggled before approaching her face, more specifically her mouth.
Should she try to do it? Maybe just one bite. . .
She held both ends of the fish with her hands, closed her eyes, did a sharp exhale and took a bite.
crunch.
Yikes she forgot about the fish bones but the bones did not hurt at all. The fish's taste was rather tasty and flavorful, much better than the seagrass. Another fish appeared in front of her, a different species than the one she ate and she took the fish and proceeded to eat it too, this one tasted a little bit saltier. Soon different species of smaller fish came up to her and she ate one of each.
After a while she patted her stomach. She really overdid it but in her defense she never had eaten fish like this, they were raw and despite that they were tasty. Hopefully since she was presumably no longer human she would not catch any diseases from eating raw fish. . .
She slowly traced her sharp teeth with her tongue, another discovery about her body. Speaking of her body she really should move around to digest the food. With that in mind she began swimming around with no direction in mind exploring the seafloor and its vibrant ecosystem.
She followed some manta ray looking creatures (she was pretty sure manta rays were not green). She swam along with them doing twists and turns which caused her to laugh. One nudged her on the hand which caused her to start petting the manta ray like one would a dog, the texture was not unpleasant to the touch.
After some more playing around with the manta rays they approached. . . something?
She looked towards the direction of the place. It was ominous, omitting a weird aura. It was as if she should not approach the place but that only piqued her curiosity even more. If she was sane she would not approach whatever that place was yet she has gone through multiple literal life changing events so she went ahead to the direction of the place.
It certainly did not disappoint.
She gasped as she saw the tall pillars holding down a creature which she could only describe as a blue sea dragon with multiple heads. The structure despite being so impressive looked old yet so sturdy still holding down the monster (or creature?).
She hesitantly approached a pillar that pinned down one head.
The creature snapped its eyes open.
She made a small squeaking sound and fumbled backwards. The bound creature gave her what she could only assume was an unimpressed yet annoyed glare as they stared down at her.
She shivered yet stood frozen still in his glare unable to move or break eye contact.
"You should not be here."
She gulped and frantically tried to come up with something.
"I-i- i just followed a trail. . ."
"This place is sealed, no mortal or god should be able to come in here."
The creature ignored her previous comment and the annoyed expression he had previously turned into curiosity as he stared down at her like one would do to a dog who made an interesting trick.
"I am- i don't know," she cringed at her own words, "I uhh sort of woke up in here, the ocean, and-and just came upon this place."
The more she spoke the more she wanted to dig herself into a hole and curl in there. The creature before her did not change his expression, continuing to stare at her.
"You were just born?"
Born? That was one way to look at it. She did die but now she is alive, so a sort of rebirth.
"Yes?"
Her answer came more out as a question, she herself was unaware what really happened.
"I see and do you have a name?"
the creature looked at her expectantly as if that would give the creature an answer to a question. For her that question was a curse.
Impostor. Heretic. Stealing the name of the creator.
She sucked in a harsh breath except what filled her lungs was water reminding her of her drowning. Her mind began to go hazy, flashes of the village mob still inside of her mind. She hugged her body tightly. Her real name was a liability in this world. Yet just like her body she can change it as well.
"It's Naiad."
The creature closed their eyes, perhaps thinking or reminiscing. She doubted the creature would know of her name. The name was not of this world.
"I see you were born with a name, not many do."
Naiad looked at him questioningly, not really sure how to answer, she had so many questions other than what he just said. Yet could she ask them? Despite having a powerful aura he was pinned down, as if they were imprisoned, the pillars acting as chains to this prison. If Naiad did end up offending them perhaps she could make a run- swim for it.
"Uhm. . . What do I call you?" She asked with a meek voice.
He looked down at her and she stared back. Naiad felt like time  passed slower before the creature finally answered.
"I am Osial."

Inspired by @scattered-irises Hellshark amv and my now obsession of Halsey Shark. Pls do check out their amv!!!!
Shark and Quattro have been a couple for over 3 years now. They started off well, but as of late, the two have been at odds with each other. "Why are you doing this to me?" demanded Shark. The have been arguing yet again. "I made a promise. What do you want me to do? Break it?" "Yes! I'm your boyfriend, does that not mean anything to you?" "You don't understand" "No. I don't. I don't understand why you would just abandon me for a group of girls!" "They're my fans, Reginald" "And I'm your boyfriend!!!" The purple teen was breathing heavily, glaring at the other male. "Why? Why did I think it was a good idea to trust you? Yet again" "Cause you love me" Quattro placed his hand on Shark's chin. He slapped it away. "Don't" "You need to clam down" "Not right now I don't!" "Please, just listen to me!" "To what? More excuses? To more reasons why your cancelling another date to be with your fans?" Quattro groans. "You're really not gonna listen?" "Nope" Shark turned around and grabbed his jacket. "Where are you going?" "Away from you" And with that, the front door to their shared flat shut.
Shark was still fuming as he walked down the streets of Heartland. Was Quattro that dumb? Could he not see the pain he was causing to Shark? The teen let out a sigh as he opened a door, hearing the bell chime as he walked in. "Ah Shark. The usual?" He looked up to see a pink haired teen. "Yes please, Yuzu" she nods as he walks over to an empty table. He let's out a groan, slamming his head against the table. Something poked him and he looked up. "Here" "Thanks Shun" he replied, sitting upright and holding a cup of coffee. "OK, what happened this time?" "What do you mean?" "Please, like you don't know this already. We've been doing this for six months now. You come in, order a black coffee and then your pour out all of your troubles and woes to me, I give you advice, you ignore it and we come back around full circle" stated the older teen, sitting opposite to him. "Quattro just keeps on abandoning me for his fans! His own boyfriend for a bunch of people! Doesn't he know how much that hurts?" Sighs Shark. "Well, maybe it's time to take my advice" "And what's that?" "Break up with him!" Says Shun. "Its the better option for both of you. You're my friend and I hate seeing you upset"
"Shun! Table six needs serving!" Shouts Yuzu. "Coming! Please take my advice" he says, getting up and walking away. Shark remains seated for a while, thinking over his relationship with Quattro and Shun's advice. He let's out a sigh and gets up to head over to the restroom. He splashes water on his face and sighs. For the first time, he can see how drained he looked. The bags under his eyes were obvious and he looked paler than usual. "Maybe breaking up will be good" he mumbles as he dries his face before leaving. He makes his way over to his table and notices a chocolate muffin has been placed there. He reaches over to pick it up, when a hand slaps his. "Nope!" He turns to see Shun. "Wha-" "You can have this after you break up with him" his friend says, taking it away. "Seriously?" "Yes! Now go. Scram. Get lost. Leave. Get the hell out of my restaurant" Shark let's out a snort and nods, downing the rest of his coffee before leaving, the money placed upon the table.
Shark opens the door to his and Quattro's flat and steps inside. "Quattro?" He calls out, closing the door behind him. He walks towards their bedroom and finds Quattro sound aslep. He sighs, getting changed and joining him. He closes his eyes and a single tear rolls down his cheek. Shark let's out a groan as his alarm goes off. He reaches out a hand and beings to smack the clock. "Morning" Silence. He turns and sees no one. "Quattro?" He sits up. He looks around before getting up. He checks the bathroom, the living room and joint kitchen. "Quattro?" He grunts, picking up his phone. He dials his boyfriend's number but it goes staught to answer machine. "Quattro, where are you?" He turns off the phone before getting himself dressed. As he reaches for his shirt, he catches a glimpse at his tatoo. It was of half a heart with Quattro's name on it. Quattro had one too, with his so when they placed their arms together, it was a full heart. He then leaves the flat and heads over to the Arclight mansion. He knocks on the door and a pink haired teen answers. "Shark? What-" "Is Quattro here?" "Um... I don't think so?" "Can I check?" Trey nods, moving aside. Shark makes his way up the grand staircase and to Quattro's bedroom. He searches the room but no sign of his boyfriend.
He leaves the room, slamming the door shut as he storms over to the staircase. He heads down the stairs and sees Quinton. "If you see Quattro, tell him I'll be waiting for him at the Pendulum Swing!" He closes the door behind him and gets back on his bike and drives off. Around noon, Shark stops his bike and gets out. He yells with rage, throwing his helmet onto the ground. "Where is he?!" He exclaims. In the corner of his eye, he spots the familiar teen. "Hey! Wait!" He follows as his boyfriend heads into the Pendulum Swing. He bursts in and sees Quattro sitting down at his table. "Where the fuck have you been?" He asks. "Clearing my head, like you did last night" "Why did you leave? Why didn't you answer my call?" "Listen Reginald cause I'm only gonna say this once: forget about me" He watches as his boyfriend leaves, feeling confused. "Wait- Quattro!" He turns aroundsl and heads outside, but doesn't see him. "Hey Shark- you okay?" His blue eyes lock onto gold. "No. I.... I'm so confused" Shun places his hand onto the smaller teens arm. "Why not you sit down and tell me what happened?"
The two sit and Shark tells him what Quattro just said to him. "That is weird" "Isn't it? What does he mean by 'Forget about me'?" "Did you break up." "I honestly don't know" sighs Shark. "Shun, you better get back to work before Yuzu has a go at you" the two look to see Yuto. "Okay fine. Hey, did you know she made a metal fan? A metal fan! The paper one was bad enough!" Shun places down a plate with a muffin on it before getting back to work. Shark couldn't help but chuckle as he eats the muffin. Was he and Quattro over? "Forget about me....... Forget me.... Forget me too" He leaves some money on the table and leaves, muffin in hand. He heads home and sees that Quattro had already moved out. Shark headed to the bedroom and grabbed a notebook, a pen and his guitar before sitting on the living room floor. He starts to scribble down tearing out the pages as he goes along, his muffin half eaten next to him. After a few hours and several crumbled pieces of paper, he picked up his guitar and began to play.
"You want me to forget you? Okay, forget me, too You tell me you hate me, baby Yeah, I bet you do I'm keepin' you waiting But I won't wait on you Want me to forget you? Okay, forget me, too"

DCxDP: Immunity system
Danny gets confused for Tim Drake when he stop for gas in Gotham on his way to visit Dan. His clone had set up shop- a literary comic book shop- in Metropolis.
Danny was going for the weekend to help him run the red dot sale and also spend time with his Clone turned older brother.
Dan after being released from his prison and getting a Core Cleanse in the FarFrozen ectoplasm iced pools, had mellowed out greatly.
It turns out Dan had gone mad after suffering a dip in contaminated ectoplasm. He called it "Pit Madness" and Clockwork assured him it was a real medical condition
Much like getting bitten by a rabies-infected animal, Dan's condition was not his fault despite turning him violent.
After the Big Reveal with his parents - who took the news surprisingly well- Team Phantom introduced Elle and Dan to them.
The two clones had been quickly made official Fentons and now Danny had an older brother and a young sister.
Elle lived at home with Danny and his parents, but Jazz and Dan moved out after high school graduation. Danny was thinking of moving in with Dan to go to college.
He wasn't sure, but he still had a whole year to decide.
Danny found a gas station within his GPS map and stopped at the closest one. There weren't a lot of people around, so he assumed that was a slow day.
He was not aware the locals avoided the area due to the danger of feuding gangs. He was also unaware that while pumping the gas, a Scarecrow goon was watching him.
That goon knew his boss had been getting a bit bored with his experiments, and he knew it wouldn't be long before his boss turned on his employees to relieve his boredom.
He was just starting to sweat, thinking he would be the new genuine pig until Tim Drake himself rolled out of a beat up car in the bad part of town.
He practically gift-wrapped himself for Scarecrow! The goon grins, creeping up behind the distracted young man.
One of the employees' inside the gas station had clocked Tim Drake too and had been staring at him - how could he not when Tim was a Bi icon?- and sees the moment the goon covers the boy's mouth with a clotch and yank him into a van that speeds away.
For a moment, the employee only gawked after the speeding vehicle, too shook to do anything as it disappears around a corner.
He scrambles for his phone to call 911. He prays that his slow reaction does not cost Drake's life.
(His call's transcript pings on Oracle's program designed to pick up the civilian names of the Bats if ever used in the emergency hotlines)
Sadly it is hours before the Bats have even an idea of where Tim (actually Danny) was taken to.
Danny wakes up in a warehouse, strapped to a table. He only had a brief moment of thinking his worst fear was coming true ,his parents, were going to rip him apart molecular by molecular, despite it being two years since they learn.
Thankfully a man dressed in a ridiculous Halloween costume steps into the light and he knows it's not his parents.
"Lovely expression Mr. Drake. Let's see how lovely that fear truly is," the man says in a raspy voice, holding up a needle. He stabs Danny with it and the boy blanches as the hot liquid enters his blood stream.
A minute goes by.
Two.
Three.
"Ugh was that supposed to do something?" He questioned, moving around his restraints to check his chances of escape without outing himself as Phantom.
The camera pointing at him limits his options.
The man dressed as Scarecrow lets out a gleeful cackle. He doesn't answer Danny, instead turning to the door- from where Danny can lift his head, it looks like he's in a basement of some kind- and shouts, "Bring me experiment six two six!"
A bulky man comes in carrying a tray of tubes. Danny watches as Scarecrow carefully selects a tube and pours it into another needle. "Lets see how you handle this"
The answer is Danny handles it very well. In fact he takes all seven tubes without a single reaction. Honestly it's the needle that's a real bother.
Scarecrow is both impressed and slightly insulted by the end of it. "How did a simpleton chloroform work on you but not my brilliant science!?"
Danny squints at him. "I would call this many things but never science, let alone brilliant, you fruitloop."
He gets knocked out again for his cheek with a new chloroform rag.
He wakes to the same made leaning over him again, but this time, there is also a clown in purple. Danny can only stare as the clown cackles.
"I think you're losing your special touch if Tim Drake is immune to your Fear Gas." The clown says, and Danny wonders if a costume convention exists in town.
Danny is happy to see that besides being knocked out and tied him down they haven't really done anything to him. "Who are you supposed to be?"
The clown face spams before a wide, mad grin breaks across his face. If Danny were to look of the definition of madness in a dictionary he knows this guy would be the example for it.
"I'm just a simple chum who wants to see the world laugh," The clown tells him, holding a squirt flower in Danny's face. "Let's see that smile!"
Danny squeaks as the liquid splashes in his face, some going up his nose. He coughs while the two men stare intensely at him.
After a moment Danny gets himself under control. "Ugh what was that? Is smell nasty"
The clown face freezes, rage bleeding into his eyes as the scarecrow one scoffs "seem you are also losing your touch, chum"
"No no no. Our little friend just needs a higher dosage! I'll have him laughing in no time!"
He doesn't. After a gas tank full of that nasty-smelling stuff is forced onto his face, and five different needles stabbed into his arm the clown is forced to admit Danny is immune.
They still call him "Mr. Drake" even though Danny tells them between needles that's not his name.
After hours of attempting to get a reaction out of him- both by clown and scarecrow- , Danny is knocked out again by the little rag.
When he comes two three people stand over him. The two from before, though clown now looks murderous and scarecrow politely interested, and a women in green with leaves splat across her outfit.
So Danny got kidnapped by a Scarecrow, a clown, and a nymph? Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke.
The gas mask is forced back onto his face and another Danny struggles he can do nothing as he is forced to breath in a new gas.
The woman watches his reaction with a keen eye before nodding "He should be pretty far gone now"
Scarecrow shakes his head. "There isn't a single reaction. He isn't affected by your pheromones."
The woman scoffs, leaning over Danny and fluttering her eyelashes "You're going to kill dear old dad for me"
Danny glares at her. "Like hell, I will."
His voice is muffled by the mask but they hear him and the woman actually looks shocked "He might need a higher dosage "
"By all means, give it a try. Neither Joker or I saw a difference in Mr.Drake even after adjusting his intake."
"How is that possible?"
"Maybe because you all suck!"
The clown slams his hands on the table. "I am one of the best chemists in the world, brat!"
"And the ugliest!"
Danny doesn't see the knife until it's pressed repeatedly into his left leg. He screams around his mask as the Clown spits and swears at him.
The other two only watch, neither seemingly bothered by the man stabbing a teenager.
Then the knife is plunged into his stomach, and he screams as the world almost whites out in agony.
Danny, blinks the white hot pain, and is just barely thinking of going ghost when the door bursts open and a group of people wearing more costumes pour in.
A man dressed as a Bat flings the clown away with an outraged cry. Danny can't see where the clown lands, but he hears fighting all around him.
A boy in a hood and mask appears in his line of sight. There is a worried frown on his face as he quickly picks at the locks keeping Danny down "Do not worry, Drake, we are here."
Danny finally gives in to the pain, running to blissful darkness as a man in a red helmet lifts him off the bed and makes a run for the door.
The kid provided cover for them.

(This was written in July oh dear-)
You know how in a lot of fics a de-aged Danny winds up in Gotham either via Clockwork putting him there, or Danny goes through a portal (either through his own volition or not) and ends up being taken in by one of the bats?
Okay that, but what if he was never picked up and ends up falling through the cracks and becoming one of the many homeless children wandering Gotham's streets, but unlike all the other street kids who know when to keep their head down Danny just doesn't have those fear receptors... like at all- It's almost scary with how the kid manages to just not give a single flying fuck about what is going on.
So after a while of wandering the streets and getting acquainted with the Gotham's inhabitants everyone slowly get's used to the kid wandering around, dropping their guard and greeting him with smiles when he toddles around the corner, looking for his next meal or piece of scrap clothing.
Perhaps it's this show of trust they begin to notice the strangeness that hangs around him like a cloud. The shifting coloured eyes, the coldness in his skin that never seems to go away no matter how much clothing the kid gets bundled in.
The fact that no one knows where he goes once they take their eyes on him? Spooky to say the least, but they're Gothamites! One shady, possibly meta, kid ain't gonna change anything.
So he becomes a staple in everyone's lives, and eventually learned his name is Danny. He talks about having an older sister called Jazz, two best friends and a puppy he named Cujo. (who let their kids watch Cujo???) They also learned he had an innate fear of The Bats, whenever one swept into the streets during their nightly patrol he would just... disappear. He became unfindable and wouldn't appear until the next day.
At first they thought it was him finding a safe place to sleep while the night rolled around and the Rouges came out to play, but that assumption was quickly squashed when he was caught wailing on one of the Jokers henchmen. The white makeup couldn't even cover up the black and blue bruises that covered his face.
It was comical, if not a bit frightening to see this small child practically a baby sitting upon a knocked out, grown ass man. His little stubby legs dangling off the side of his body, too small to even reach the ground.
Of course nothing stays under the Bats radar for long so he end up eventually getting spotted. However none of the Bats where expecting such resistance from the civilians when they offered to take the kid.
Now whenever the little tyke is bumbling around and a Bat (or any other vigilante associated with them) is in the area, it's all hands on deck to distract Danny and get him somewhere else.

Dp x Dc AU: Bruce has a 'if you can't beat them, join them' mentality about the tabloids claiming he adopts too many kids- Developing foster homes that are paid for through the Wayne inheritance, personally vetted by the Bats, they're the leaders in the space for child health outcomes and family placement. Insert Danny.
---
Bruce has too much wealth, too many rumors and not enough reach into the abhorrent foster homes around Gotham to improve them. Tim ends up being the one to suggest it- He's the one who buys up their real estate for their safe houses after all- and Bruce is more than ready to pull the metaphorical trigger to get new clean welcoming spaces, Bat-background checked fosters and a new era of adoption in Gotham underway.
He's lobbied the state and the federal government for reforms of course, but this is a project he can micromanage. He spends time with every kid that comes through, talks with all the families that want to adopt and makes sure that these miniature homes are provided only the very best. Alfred personally hires all the staff, and with Barbara more than happy to help relocate the unhoused children she spots while they patrol, the project is a glowing success.
Occasionally, spots in their houses fill up, and those are the weeks were Cass takes on the Cowl of Batman- Bruce Wayne will personally invite a child in need to his home. He always has one of his kids present (they rotate on a pre-determined schedule) and he does his best to try and get them to understand that they deserve the world, have all the potential that anyone else has and can achieve a bright future. That he will personally aid them in their ambitions.
PR goes crazy for it of course, but Bruce and all of his children know its genuine. Almost too genuine, because a betting pool 'WILL THEY BE ADOPTED' regularly circulates between the siblings and the entire JL when someone spends time at the manor. And not just the black-haired, Blue-eyed kids get picked as favored outcomes- but obviously the running joke gets passed around.
It's a Thursday night when Bruce gets the call that the houses have once again filled up, and that there is a child in need of a home. The social worker (he knows her as Marsha and he has flowers planned to be sent on her birthday next week, like he does for all of his employees) (Say micromanaged one more time) explains that the kid is a bit cagey but has opened up with some humor. She explains that he has a few strange... mannerisms. She's not sure what to make of him, a non-gothamite for sure but something is, well, distinctly 'not from around here' about his energy.
Danny arrives at the house, meets Duke and Alfred, and by the time Bruce meets him at the dinner table it seems as though Marsha had it all wrong. This kid was laughing, he was teasing, he was totally playing along like he'd gone through nothing. Bruce is glad he's in high spirits but its just so... so different from all the other children he's taken in.
Bruce re-focuses on the conversation when Duke mentions something flashing, and its the first time that Danny goes quiet. Entirely still.
"...you noticed that?" Danny quietly asks, a bit of disbelief in his tone.
"You don't have a flashlight on or something do you? It was super bright whatever it is that you had in your hand a second ago?" Duke tries to sound chill but he's looking very much not chill. Bruce saw nothing, and that puts him further on edge.
"Look... I uh, I've been though... I've been through a lot lately. And the last lab I was in kind of, messed with me. I'm normally much better at dealing with it all, I promise." Danny sounds nervous, and the room seems to chill.
"Ah shoot, sorry." Danny notices something and frantically apologizes.
"Sorry for what Danny? You've done nothing wrong but I am worried about you- You said you were in a lab?" Bruce is desperately trying to calm him down while not slipping into Batman interrogation mode.
"Uh, yeah, like a lot of labs. It should get warmer in a second, its just cause I startled, I promise."
"You're a meta." Duke speaks softly and with hope in his voice- Danny is looking between them with wide eyes filled with fear.
"I mean I don't technically have the gene-"
"Danny, have you told any of your case workers where you were? Do any authorities know what you've been through?" Bruce needs to know, desperately, that who ever gave this young boy super powers is brought to justice. Danny goes quiet.
"I'm really sorry." He says softly, but he doesn't leave them.
Duke and Bruce try to ask a few more questions but the silence that meets them declares the conversation over, even with Duke admitting he himself is a meta. Danny didn't even look up from his plate. They watch a movie after dinner, and Danny seems to get back to the smile-y happy guy he had been before dinner.
Each of the bat-fam have their own interactions with Danny- And even if they're getting along amazingly, Danny won't open up. He doesn't open up to his provided therapist. Doesn't talk to Alfred. No one knows what's up.
So when Marsha calls Bruce back explaining they now have a spot for Danny and he can move out of the Manor... Bruce replies that he'd like to get started on Adoption paperwork, so long as Danny is fine with it.
---
Turns out, Danny is fine with it. he's both the newest Wayne and their newest case. (And godamnit, his new family is going to avenge him. If only he'd let them try.)
Danny figures out that Duke= Signal early on because of that dinner, and if he's going to keep his parents out of jail, he needs to be as close to the investigation as possible. He knows that he shouldn't protect the Fentons, but he feels the upset in his core at the thought of letting them befall any harm. He has to protect them. Has to protect Jazz and her hiding spot as a mole within their lab. Has to.
Even if it meant lying to his new family who loves him, and who he loves in equal return. Even if it means lying to The Bats.
---
Tabloids go crazy about the black-haired blue-eyed thing of course, but no poll was ever taken by the batfam or the JL who know the whole story.

The Naiad au (Scrapped)
EDIT: 17/11/2023 I have decided to rework this series, so this story won't continue, instead there will be a new one with the same concept.
-slight idv and genshin crossover, the mc is an OC and has female pronouns
-english is not my first language
TW: SAGAU, Cult au, imposter au, mentions of death, drowning
this is part 1 , part 2
The warm embrace of the water did not soothe her as much as she had thought. She was flailing, panicking and scared out of her wits. She was doing anything to rise up again to the surface but the net and anchor would not let her go, using their imaginary claws to sink her deeper and deeper into the ocean floor. Her lungs were burning and her rational mind was screaming at her to remain calm. She was wasting precious resources and making things worse yet her instincts were louder trying to fight the descent into the watery prison below.
Was this how things were going to end?
Stranded in a new world alone, confused and branded as an impostor for a god she did not know?
"With your death may All-Mother cleanse us of your sins."
What sins? What did she do? Who was All-Mother?
But no one would be there to answer her. The only answer was the silence of the water.
She looked up one final time. she could still see the sun above shining ever so brightly reflected on the water above, she tried reaching it with her hand but it was in vain.
The net still clung to her like the villagers arms as they apprehended her and tied her. The anchor was heavy she saw as it took three grown men to carry and she was just one weak untrained girl, it was futile to fight.
The anchor continued to pull her down.
In the back recess of her mind she thought how weird, how familiar this scene was. Once upon a time she remembered watching the same scene but through a third view another girl just like her was killed in the same manner.
For something she had no control over.
Unlike that person would she just drown quietly, would a miracle happen and she too would grow fins, gills, the ability to breathe underwater? That would be most ideal if she did not want to end as a corpse underwater. Alone in the dark ocean being killed for a crime she did not commit.
If only she could be like that girl.
with that one final thought her body betrayed her and she ended up breathing the ocean water. She closed her eyes for the last time as the water filled her lungs.
. . .
. . .
. . .
There was a small sound she could hear. She did not know where it came from. It sounded what she thought a star would sound like, small, sparkly and floaty . Softly it hummed and swayed creating a sweet melody. It hummed once again and she could not help herself but to hum along.
The sound stopped for a second after she hummed along but resumed its melody a bit faster, perhaps it was cheerful she joined along? She opened her eyes to look.
What greeted her was not a person, not a creature but the sun still shining down on the ocean floor.
How?
It should not be possible for the sun to still be visible all the way down here. . .
Wait.
She was still alive?
Realization dawned on her and her eyes widened in shock, she looked around frantically. She was definitely on the ocean floor, the anchor still attached to the fishnet she was stuck in.
Yet.
She was alive?
She hesitantly took a deep breath when she expected water to fill her lungs. Nothing happened. She was speechless for a moment bringing a hand towards her chest and she looked down. What shocked her was the sight in front of her.
Her arm- her hand.
Despite being so deep into the ocean she could see her previous skin color was gone, something akin to a blue-ish tone took its place. Her hands were now webbed as well with the tip of her fingers having sharp nails and a deep purple hue.
What had happened to her.
She touched her face but it still felt the same. She doubted she could find a mirror All the way down here.
She wanted to try to get out of the fishnet first Before planning anything else.
After finally having a concrete plan she pushed herself upwards and tried to pry the fishnet away from her but it was mostly in vain. She looked at her sharp nails and wondered if she could try to cut it off with them.
She took one hand and tried to pull the net with her nails while the other was holding it in place. It took some while to get the process right before the net started to tear down.
Neat!
Finally sensing some hope in this situation she managed to bring out a smile. After some more flailing around and tearing the net she managed to tear it out enough that she could get away from her "net-prison".
After she was finally out from the fishnet she relaxed her shoulders in relief. Finally she had a moment of peace to herself.
. . .
Perhaps that was the scary part as well, the peace allowed her to think but thinking of what happened. Waking up in a strange land, being captured, treated like some criminal and then dying. Except she did not die. She looked down on her webbed hands. She traced her fingers with her other hand, over the sharp nail, over the visible veins and in between the webbed parts. It felt too real to be a dream. She pressed her finger deeper into the palm of her hand. her sharpened nail accidentally cut into her flesh but she only felt a sting. What surprised her was the golden liquid that flew out of her hand.
Perhaps she did really die and was reborn as something else because she certainly was no longer a human.
She watched in fascination as her skin healed itself in merely a few seconds.
Yeah, definitely not a human anymore.
She sighed but then was shocked to see bubbles leave her mouth. A neat reminder she was very much at the bottom of the ocean, alive and all.

Lost Ones (Arkham! Jason Todd X Ink! Reader) Ch.1 - Savior
Warning ⚠️: Mentions of peril, injury, torture, fighting, human experimentation, and themes of mental health/illness

6 months later, you were known as Gotham’s shadow. Pointing police and law enforcement towards near invisible crime rings. Saving innocents before they can even give a description of you. Taking down criminals within the blink of an eye. Gathering intel with your own tools and devices. Going by the alias of Erinye, the proper name of a fallen angel.
However, during the hours you slept, you kept dreaming about a boy in a red, green and yellow suit. The appearance of the costume almost akin to those seen wore by superheroes in comic books. He was strapped down to a wheelchair with barbed wire and rope, blood staining his bonds and suit. A clown would come out of the shadows and torture him with whatever weapon or tool he had in hand. But that was it…
No distinct detail or object to pinpoint a location…
At least, none that were obvious…
During your time in the Ink Machine’s world, you spent any free second you had piecing together the story behind the studio’s history and eventual collapse. If your little detective mission taught you anything, it was that the small or more glossed over details were the most important ones of all.
The white and black tiled floor in the dream was very indicative of a hospital or an asylum. At least, from images you had seen in photos and documentaries. The place had to be abandoned, or a small corner of it left to rot.
The next clue was the weapons and tools that the clown, or the Joker, as you grew to learn his name, would use. While many were items that could cause serious damage or pain, a few stood out. A crowbar, a branding tool and a gun. It was obvious that the Clown was trying to get creative with his methods of torture.
The gun was obviously something that Joker had on his person, his preferred weapon of choice. But from what you saw, he only used it once and it didn’t kill the boy you were looking for. No… it was only to render him unconscious as the bullet ricocheted off the boy’s chestplate.
The crowbar was just the main tool for the job. The sword to the shotgun…
The branding tool was tricker, but made more sense as you picked up on specific details. For one thing, the letter at the end of it was a ‘J’. J for Joker… he was obviously trying to brand the boy as his. Which was disgusting and obscene to see or even think about. People don’t have the right to mark others as their property…
You would know… one man once thought of your family as his property…
Whether or not he used them for his own purposes was beyond you…
The visions you had showed the boy as already marked, unfortunately. But, that didn’t mean he was beyond saving or being saved. He was still in danger or possibly at risk of something far worse. So, best to rescue him while you have the chance…
Slipping through the dark halls of Arkham was easy. At least for you, it was. Considering you were currently in your ink form, you practically blended into your surroundings. Not even the most keen observer could’ve spotted you, unless they had a canine unit for the job.
The hallways were quiet, nothing but the creaking of pipes and the squeaking of rats and mice. The faintest chirp and shuffle of insects were unnerving, but kept you grounded to reality. The rhythmic trickle of dripping water served as a timer to tell you how much time had gone by.
Skimming your hands along the wall behind you, you attempted to find any irregularities, other than the many closed doors. An open or chained door with a broken or loose knob. A secret passageway to a solitary confinement cell block. A potential hatch that didn’t belong. Anything that was deemed out of place for a hospital or a mental institution.
Your ink-covered hand came into contact with a doorknob. Not just a regular old doorknob…
One with a suspicious chain extending from the knob to a nearby hook off the left of the frame. The lock was dangling under the metal knob, just inviting you to pick it…
It could’ve been a trap set by the Joker himself, probably for Batman or some daring kid with very little sense of self-preservation. But, if it were, wouldn’t the Joker have revealed himself by now? Or was he waiting for you to open the lock?
Looking around, you glanced into the shadows ahead of you. Looking for any unwanted or unseen movement that your slightly more able eyes could make out. Listening for any faintest laughter or whispers your heightened ears could hear. Keeping your guard up for anyone who dared try to pull a fast move on you…
Taking out two small surgical blades, you stuck them into the lock. You kept fiddling with it until they were secure enough to turn it. As you turned the lock, a CLICK came from it and the chains fell out of place. Bingo…
Putting the knives away, you took out a flashlight from your satchel. This light wasn’t your normal cylindrical metal tube with double A batteries. This one was bulky and rectangular and required a much bigger charge than today’s modern flashlights. It was a bit of an inconvenience to carry, but it’ll do for now.
Opening the door, you were greeted with darkness. Nothing but the shine of your light and the shitty quality one of the light bulb above. The cracked and broken tile from your dreams rested at your feet. A few burnt out candles sat next to a broken wooden chair. The same wooden chair that you saw the the dark-haired boy was sitting in when he was knocked unconscious by a bullet. Dried puddles of blood stained the floor, bringing with it the smell of iron, rotten food and bile.
A muffled whimper then came from your right…
Turning yourself and the flashlight in the direction of the sound, you found a heap of red, yellow and dark green. A matted mop of black hair stood out against the pale scarred skin of the head. Blood was another paint used on the canvas of this boy. Thick rope bound his gloved hands together in front of him. A band of duct tape covered his mouth and screams as frightened, unfocused blue eyes stared up at you.
It was him… the boy from your premonitions…
You began to crouch down and approach with caution, in case he was still very hysterical from any prior torture. His chest moved up and down in irregular pants of air, off-put by your unfamiliar presence. His eyes were wide in fear, as he believed you were here to hurt him. Maybe it was your appearance that was setting him off…
Maybe, it was reminding him of the Joker…
Or maybe…
‘Strangers aren’t good things down here, (Y/N)…’
The voice of your mother, or Alice, rang in your mind. You immediately understood why he was so afraid. You were someone new, a stranger… one that he didn’t think meant well. Especially considering who else had come down here to see him.
Closing your eyes, your inky form melted away, revealing the more human guise you had underneath. When you opened your eyes, you saw that he now had a look more akin to confusion or astonishment. It was better, you supposed. It meant he was trying to deduce what you were rather than who you could possibly be affiliated with. But, you knew that it probably wouldn’t last very long. So, it was time for step two…
You gave him your kindest smile, just to show him that you were there to help him, not harm him. You then reached for the tape on his mouth, but he flinched away.
“It’s okay. I just want to help…” You whispered to him.
“Do you now~?” A sinister voice spoke out from the shadows behind you. Standing up and turning around, you saw the Joker standing in the shotty light. His clown-esque guise and his purple and orange suit was enough to deter anyone who didn’t go by Batman or Harley Quinn. Despite this, you remain on guard and on high alert. Meanwhile, your inner beast was waiting for any moves that you and it didn’t like.
“Jason sure knows how to draw them in. Especially the pretty ones. I still don’t know how he does it.” Joker said, his Glasgow grin widening.
‘Jason? So that’s the name of this Robin I’ve been seeing in my dreams…’
Joker then took a few steps towards you, trying to close the safe distance. You reacted accordingly and as quickly as you could. You immediately materialized an axe made of solidified ink, holding it in a batting position. With a near dangerous edge to your voice, you then said, “Not another step…”
“Oooh~ and you’re tough! Just like him! Thankfully, I know just the remedy for that~…” the Clown murmured, reaching to the inside of his coat.
Within a split second, you reverted back to your ink form, wings out and eyes glowing. You took off in a speed blitz towards him, eyes focused as you saw him pull out a small handgun. You swung your axe as you grew closer, Joker aiming his weapon at your right wing. And then…
SHCLIK…
BANG…
The pain of a bullet piercing your wing only lasted a second as you dismissed them. Your axe was now stained with the blood of the guilty party, who stood frozen in place. Until he started coughing and choking on his own blood before he collapsed limply to the floor.
You then dismissed your weapon and moved back to where Jason was laying. His expression was one of shock as he looked between you and the now unresponsive body of Joker. Taking out a pocketknife, you cut the ropes around his wrists. You then, as gently and as quickly as you could, pulled the tape off his mouth.
Once off, Jason began to suck in air through his mouth, hyperventilating slightly. Putting your knife away, you gently touched his shoulder, which he lightly flinched from. You lightened your touch in order to help him calm down. Keeping with your more gentle side, you then whispered, “You gotta help me out here if you want to get outta here. I can’t carry you out on my own.”
Still hazy and delirious, Jason looked at you and nodded numbly. He may not have been very coherent and intelligible yet. But what little consciousness he had, he was able to comprehend that you weren’t a threat. He held his arm out for you to grab, which you took hold of immediately. You pulled him up and grasped his utility belt while moving his arm over your shoulders.
You then looked around the room for a place to create an ink portal. You wanted to make a quick getaway before someone found you. You couldn’t risk Harley Quinn or another lackey discovering what you had just done.
Looking to the wall on your right, you stuck your hand out and thought about opening a gate home. As you did, a clump of bubbling glossy black tar began to grow and expand. Jason’s eyes widened as he mumbled, “You can…”
“Yeah, I can. Now, come on. We gotta go before someone finds us.” You answered as you guided him and yourself towards the portal. Within the blink of an eye, you were back in the bedroom of your apartment. The walls plastered with Alice Angel and Boris the Wolf posters, as well as posters of movies from varies points in time. Most of the other belongings belonged to you or your family.
You lay a now unconscious Jason on your bed before moving over to the en-suite bathroom. You took out a bucket and started to fill it with water for cleaning. As you watched the bucket be filled, one question crossed your mind…
‘Why did Joker have Jason locked away in Arkham for God knows how long?’

The Lost Sheep: Prologue
Summary: Your Jake and Neytiri's first born child. You get taken by the RDA. Trained to kill your own father.
Tumblr media
The day you were born, was the day of the great war your parents and many others fought in. People saw your birth as a day of joy. But not as much as it brought Joy to your parents. They cherished every moment with you. Your first breath, your first laugh, your first cry. And the first time they connected you with Eywa. Every first experience you had was like the first time for your parents. It gave them, hope. So much hope and joy.
But sadly, their time with you was short lived. On the fifth night of your life. You were taken by a mole within one of the scientists. Taking you to a secret underground bunk where secret RDA soldiers hid.
10 years would go by. You've been brain washed in a way. Forced to learn the sky people's ways. Have their violent and selfish acts seem justified to your eyes. But you knew, it was not right. You had doubts. Many, doubts.
You were not the only Na'vi child taken. Besides from the little human boy, Miles. There was a Na'vi boy named Ta'lok. Your same age. Taken the same time as you. The only difference is his clan was completely whipped out. But he is not aware of that. Nor are you. All the two of you know is that your clans have, abended you two. Which you never believed. Same as Ta'lok. But you can tell he is saddened by the lies the RDA tells.
You and Ta'lok sat silently as an RDA solder was teaching you two about sky people weapons. A little human boy seated between you two. Miles, also known as Spider. Who, for some reason was treated oddly by the RDA. Some favor him, whilst others look at Miles the same way they look at you and Ta'lok.
Your very keen on recognizing small things. Which was how you were able to pick up the sky peoples lies. You glanced to your side where both of the boys were listening. Well, Miles was listening and paying more attention to the instructor whilst Ta'lok was more focused on fiddling with his mother's songcord. The only thing he has of his mother.
You envied your friend. He had something to hold as a remembrance of his people. Of his mother. While you only have little memories of yours. Which you were not satisfied with.
You envied Ta'lok a lot. He doesn't notice the RDA's lies as much as you do. He does know it feels wrong being in the bunker. And wants to leave and be free on Pandora as much as you do. But he does not worry of the RDA soldiers coming in and possibly killing you both at night while you two sleep like you do. He doesn't worry about the possible ways the RDA could punish you two if one of you slipped up during lessons or training like you do.
He doesn't assume the worst like you. He is free from such things.
Ta'lok glanced to your direction, you were staring at the human teacher as it spoke. Ta'lok looked away from you with a small sigh. It is true he is not as suspicious or untrusting of everyone else as you are. But he knows that look on your face.
He knows you have hate. A lot of it. And he worries your hate will kill you one day, that thought is what he is not free from.
"Whats a songcord?" Spider asked, looking up at Ta'lok who was origanaly explaining to Spider why he kept his mothers songcord on him at all times.
You were on your shared bunk bed, mindlessly reading a book that the humans here expect you and Ta'lok to study. To understand the human ways. But you were still a child so you would read, but never really get it due to your lack of interest.
Ta'lok explains what a song cord is to Spider with a bright smile and excitement. Just talking about Na'vi culture beings him joy. Even if you and him don't fully know everything about your clans or people. But a small fond smile graces your lips as you hear your boys talk happily about what a songcord meant to your people.
Suddenly, the metal doors slide open. Your small smile was quick to fade the moment you heard the familiar sound of those metal doors opening. Ta'lok's tail flickered nervously as he eyed the armed men at the door. You let out a small sigh as you slid down from the bed, giving Ta'lok a knowing look and a small head signal he knew all too well. Ta'lok follows close behind you, giving Spider an apologetic look as he followed you with his head down.
You walked with your head up, giving the armed men a scowl as you walked down the familiar metal walls.
Training. Apart of the routine the RDA had made for you and Ta'lok had. The same halls to go down, same sky people. Same lessons. Same punishments when either you or Ta'lok step out if line. Nothing changes. The only thing that changes is your rapid increase of hate towards the sky people.
Not Spider though. You could never hate him. He's family after all.

The GIW made a mistake when they went after Phantom. They made yet another upon venturing into the darkened alleys. They made their last when they harmed the ghostling. Gotham is a viscous, vengeful being, and their guardians just as much.
