Guys. Stop me from redoing several. I should not do so. Just because there's a new dragon doesn't mean I should redo some-
So thinkin more of Dragon Gotham, and once more, I am not drawing three separate dragon forms for Every gothamite ever. So I used Predict Morphology on Flight Rising to come up with general ideas/visualizations for each dragon form. So I guess have a Part 1 of that lol.
SO, first of all, each of these will be in the order of Alpha, Beta, Omega, though some characters might prefer one gender over the other, or not bother to change into one of these forms often. Anyway, enjoy.

Lemme know your ideas and thoughts lol. I am also open to reblogs with goons and civilians. Pretty much original character Gothamites lol. Hood needs his Merry Men and the Goonion needs people in it after all lol.

Who Wants a WIP of a thing I'm workin on of Batkids messin with the JL. Well technically they're going to, as soon as Bruce can be convinced to introduce them.
================================================
“Hey,” a figure crouched on the edge of a building chirped, the sound borderline literal as an easy-going grin spread across their face. “Hey B. B, I know you can hear me~” They poked a larger figure, one who was barely noticeable in the shadows and only by the glimmering white-out eyes that gleamed in the distant lamps below.
The first figure grinned wider when their prodding got a grunt, canines sharp. “C’mon B, you can’t just keep us here our entire lives,” they sang, voice dipping into twittering as they giggled. “Your League is already snoopin’ around Blud, and already tried to contact Auntie.”
Another grunt, the larger figure grumbling as though to say bet. The smaller snorted. “Seriously, you’ve never been able to get us to do what you say, you won’t be able to suddenly do so now!”
They squawked when a gloved hand with claws tugged them beneath a cloak, tucking them against the one they were heckling. “B, seriously! We’re not babies anymore, we can take care of ourselves y’know!”
An insistent grunt, claws combing through black hair. They rolled their eyes, even if it wasn’t visible beneath the domino-esque mask on their face. “I know you’re an adult now, Nightwing,” they said in a mocking exaggerated growl. “I trust you, Nightwing. I’m not a worry-wart Nightwing. Weren’t you the one to say we could trust the league?”
His ear was cuffed for his trouble, causing him to roll his eyes again. “Geeze, Batman, don’t be so excited and jumpin’ for joy now.”
   Another grumble, insistent.
“No no, you don’t get to pull but my babies,” Nightwing mocked. “I don’t need your permission y’know! I could stop hiding whenever the J-L goes into Bludhaven and boom! Besides-” He grinned, tucking himself against his companion. “If we can go up to the Watchtower you can see us more often, Dad!”
   Bingo.
Batman grumbled, arm tightening around him in a sort of side-hug. But he was thinking about it, which was more than a start. Bruce had a ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ sort of mindset when it came to him and his siblings after all, so all that was needed was for one of them to start asking.
“Please Dad?” he wheedled, poking his head out from under the cloak to look up at B with wide eyes. “I’ll stay right next to you or auntie the entire time so you know I’m safe!”
The older vigilante faltered, head turning away. Nightwing was stubborn though- he’d managed to convince B for him to go out when he was younger, and that was in Gotham- so he could definitely convince him of this.
“Pretty please Dad? I won’t take off my trackers or anything!” he made sure his voice was earnest, even if he was pouting. “I’ll even… ergh,” he fake gagged. “I’ll even wear the child-leash.” The dreaded child leash, the thing that haunted him as a child, and now haunted his siblings just as much.
“Hrn…” He was squished more against his father’s side, the hug tightening before he was let go. “We’ll discuss it at home.”
   Well.
    It wasn’t a no.

I have been thinkin' of an AU
With Mandalorian Batman- I mean even the colors of his canon armour and outfit fit so well for it without even including anything else about him. But anyway, Mandalorian Batman, bit of a bounty hunter, never takes kill-bounties and is much more terrifying for it because it makes Rumours Spread. And his several Foundling children. Who he absolutely adores. Would fight armies for, and loves to death. But you know what I am thinking about? Canonically, who of the family is magic? Even has magic soul-powered swords? Jason Todd, that's who.
So really, it is Not Bruce's fault if he ends up perhaps panic-kidnapping a Jetti for assistance because one of his (small! precious!) kids is having a panic attack and struggling to deal with this space magic shit-
*Mandalorian armour colors have different meanings depending on the paints chosen. The canonical colors we know are: Gray: Mourning a lost loved one, Red: Honoring a parent, Black: Justice, Gold: Vengeance, Green: Duty, Blue: Reliability, & Orange: A lust for life

For any of your cryptid batfam AUs. We know Batman thinks criminals are superstitious and cowardly. So how superstitious should most Gothamites be? What are some of the superstitions and things they do because of that? And what random BS do the Bat kids do to actively encourage the superstitions because they think it’s funny?
Vibrates in headcanons.
Okay, so, this is less just the criminals of Gotham- a lot of goons are just trying to put food on the table after all- and more of, Gothamites in general. Like they have good reason to be superstitious.
Like everyone already knows about the Court of Owls, if nothing else then from the Rhyme they use to get children to behave. But Gotham? Is Weird with a capital W even in canon. There are literal streets that disappear and only reappear on certain days, areas where on specific days gravity just doesn't work right, several portals to hell have been opened just in Arkham alone, and there's enough curses and cults to smother any other place.
Funnily enough I am actually currently working on a story that focuses a bit more on the superstitions of Gotham lol. Like a lot of this stuff? Not shit you're going to see in the more tourist-esque spots, but those are death traps already.
Now a lot of the habits and myths of Gotham start out as a thing about Survival. It started less with things about the Bats and more about the Rogues and how to survive.
Tiny plant boxes meticulously cared for, after one noticed how plants react when Ivy is around. They line the windows of almost every home despite the smog, and some even pray through them for their Mother to not attack today.
Small scarecrow dolls, made of grass balls and cloth hang from overhangs on roofs with rope like a hangman, a charm in hopes that the one walking the streets will leave them alone. It ends with some claiming that if you rip the head from the body of cloth, the Scarecrow will come for you.
Small candles and lanterns begin to appear on the windowsills of children, their own homemade batsignals. Some say if you're very good, gifts will appear beside it, while others claim that if you're very bad, the Signal will appear and take you away.
Tiny shrines appear on rooftops over the years, meticulously carved statuettes within. It started with one for the Second Robin, and some whisper about how the Red Hood emerged from it, was reborn through their prayers and gifts. Now there are more, offerings ranging from snacks to child's drawings to figures of clay. No one dares take things from it, the last time someone tried... well, let's just say it didn't end well.
The thing is? The Bats don't even have to do much to encourage this, and don't usually even do it on purpose.
Everyone knows what happened to the ones who tried to be a vigilante. They know of the first Batgirl, humanity slowly dripped away the longer she huddled in the Bat's shadow until she was twisting around just like it. Any child who had been making their own costumes, their parents burned it that night, terrified that the Bat would take their children to be its own next. The small child, everyone knew about him, a wee little thing with a camera clutched against his chest. They all saw him run after the Bats despite the protests, saw him run towards the Bat as bodies crumbled before it. They saw him grab its arm with such tiny hands, and the Bat, grieving, stopped. They all saw the Bat whisk him away, and once more whispered to their children to never follow the Bats into the shadows. They know of the girl cloaked in amethyst cloth, who chased after them despite the warnings and pleadings of others. She disappeared, and the faceless thing of chittering laughs that raced the Robin that appeared in her stead... Everyone knows what happens to those who offer themselves to the Bats, knowingly or not.
Robin can mimic voices, their own childish giggles and clicks echoing across the stone slipping into another's words. What is merely a game to them is horrific for anyone wandering the streets in the dark of the night. Some say that it can steal your voice permanently if it so wished.
Everyone in Gotham knows that the Bats aren't human. Oh they might mimic and pretend to be as such, or even had been at some point, but they're confident they aren't. Even if they put on an act outside of Gotham, corpse-like skin gaining hints of color like blood is actually rushing through veins, everyone knows that's what it is. An act.
The Bats themselves? Well, it keeps their civilian identity safe- and the shrines have helped them get children out of bad home lives and to safety, so they're not going to just... not encourage it.

Prompt 289
While Bruce was lost in time, he made a Deal.
He doesn’t exactly mention it to his family when he comes back- he was more than a little busy trying to figure out what he missed, where his children were, what the fuck had even happened. Besides, he’d put it in the report that he’d encountered some sort of primordial time being- even if he was still investigating that on his down time.
So he thinks he can be forgiven for forgetting to mention anything until Clark drops a cup while staring at him with a pale expression and shakily asks why there’s a second, slower heartbeat in his chest. He just also wishes it wasn’t in the middle of a League meeting.

@the-metropolis-marvel don't apologize, it's fine lol
Oh man so where to start. So Gotham itself? Really ecto-contaminated, like that's a given with how many portals have opened in Arkham alone, being built on top of several death pits, and everything else. But most people only have like, eye-shine, maybe a hint of better night vision then Outsiders.
The Bats though? They are like, constantly near-death, even more so with the Rogues with how they have a no-kill rule. Not to mention that in some continuities there's a Lazarus Pit in part of the Batcave.
So that Bats? Way more ecto-contaminated than even your average Gothamite. They give off very uncanny-valley, near fae-ish vibes in their civilian identity. Because no one can be that pretty right? Definitely not, but again, Gotham is used to this.
The thing is, they become so ecto-contaminated that when they die, they just sort of, don't stay that way. It's almost like a mixture of the two canon halfas we know came into existence. Completely drenched in ectoplasm throughout the years that they've formed a core, which can actually produce its own ecto upon death.
Which, they will admit? So very useful. Because they already have two perceived forms, of their civilian identity, and their vigilante ones. And the vigilantes of Gotham are already seen as something Else, seeing as Liminality doesn't need to be pushed down while they're doing their vigilante work.
So their vigilante costumes? Already off- but once they push over the edge into something completely Other? Oh it is horrific. No bones, just ectoplasm, and they can float so no footsteps, not to mention that their presence itself is unsettling, without even starting on their appearances.
This is also why they don't age, at least in their human forms. Because a corpse doesn't grow any older.
Which does mean that there are of course rules to this whole half-dead thing. Like they are very much supposed to try not to die, especially when they're younger. Damian shouldn't have died, and now he's twelve forever. How did Jason age then? Well he didn't- he was suffering from childhood malnutrition, but the Lazarus Pit fixing that? Meant that with his genetics and lifestyle he shot up and bulked out, a lot.
This is also why there's never been really any Batfam clones, or at least none that work- there was that one Batman clone but it was a dead body with no brain activity, and there's several Damian clones, but that was before he became a halfa. Liminals, annoying to clone but doable. Halfas? Nearly impossible.
But back to the Batfam being cryptids, enough about that.
Their ghost forms are pretty much their vigilante selves, but there's something Very Wrong. Limbs a hint too long, too gnarled like bones were broken at one point and never healed. They almost seem to glow, while other times it's like the shadows reach towards them, darkening the entire room.
Teeth too sharp, eyes too intense, like a predator sizing up prey. No breath, no heartbeat, nothing human about it. In fact, a predator is exactly what they feel like to everyone else. There is something hunting, and you don't know where it is, only that it's somewhere nearby, and looking at you.
Sorry I should've specified my bad lol, I was referring to the batfam cryptid one
I assume you're talking about the Liminal one as that's the one I've posted about today, but I will have to ask you to tell me if I'm correct lol. I have... well, if you include the oneshot project I'm working on about 200 cryptid batfam aus lol. No I don't have a problem-

Oneshot Project: Which of these should I work on or would you wish for a WIP of? [If you wish to be tagged for a writing WIP reply/comment so, also feel free to send in asks if you want to know more about any of them]
Dragon Au Unreliable Narrators, curtesy of Tim, with semi-dark Batfam thanks to them well, not being human. Includes Jason getting dragged back home kicking and screaming and human Tim eventually also becoming dragon.
Living Armor Au Semi-modern fantasy Au thing, with the batfam being more than a little oblivious to the fact that their allies think they are people in armor, not supernatural creatures. This also leads to misunderstandings when Bruce mentions they're getting a new family member.
Merfolk Au Gotham's version of merfolk is like a specialized super predator. Or maybe that's just the Bats, because despite most of them being based off of not exactly aggressive or even large fish, they Can take off someone's hand. It also doesn't help that no one thinks to mention the fact that Gotham is the sea's Eldritch Dead Zone.
Griffon Au Mostly fluff and found family, and Bruce with his kids as young kids. Includes him desperately trying to convince them to do Anything other than vigilantism, Please, and them just laughing at him. Also includes Alfred in shorts during the winter because he's built different.
Kobold-Dog Au Batfam, but they're lizard dog people with apposable thumbs. Includes baby Damian and some inspiration from the kobold of german folklore as well.
Kitsune Au Magical batfamily who might just specialize in more illusionary magic? Yeah, and some of them even count as holy creatures. Also, as kitsune can act as mediums between the mortal and celestial? They might interact with a few ghosts. Also Sentient Gotham City.
