Play your all time favourite and most played game. Snowrunner. Tempted to do other posts to help. But this seems to be one of the few things to help me not sink deeper into that vast hole of depression.

bought snowrunner on a whim the other day (sometimes you just wanna drive a big truck around somewhere) and the starting level has got some astonishingly post apocalyptic vibes
like it throws you right in by saying "hey we've had a really bad flood can you go and fix this bridge" and then you get out in the world and just... all the roads have been washed away, powerlines are down, there's not a soul in sight, and you just roll your sleeves up and start Fixing Shit In Your Big Truck.
there's a bunch of tasks like clearing rockslides, draining flooded roads, delivering supplies to remote settlements, but there's not another soul in sight and all your communication from the supposed other people in this world happens through little messages that pop up on screen (thank u Snowrunner but our medical supplies are in another farmstead etc)
obviously its very purely focused on the Offroad Driving Experience, but its fascinating and honestly kind of compelling the semi-accidental worldbuilding they've done in service of that
it maybe has a whiff of survivalist idealogy, all problems solved with big enough tyres etc, but it mostly just seems to be like hey we made you a driving game :) heres a Really Fucked Up World to drive in :)
Idk if it continues in this vein yet but i am here for it if it does
I think I've been playing too much Snowrunner. I saw this truck with a compact crane, and immediately wondered why it wasn't mounted directly behind the cab.
