THE GREAT DHAWAN!MASTER COSPLAY GUIDE

Back in September, I made my own Dhawan!Master cosplay from scratch with one goal in mind. To make it as screen accurate as possible.

I had just under a week to print the fabric, gather patterns, buy materials and sew the whole thing together. The Google Drive linked above contains all the designs I used to custom print the fabric with material specs and details of any extras I bought.

If you’ve ever wanted to cosplay Dhawan!Master, please take any resource you need from the drive. I’d also love to see your finished creations!

Fabric

Ordered via the website Prinfab

Used the ‘Cotton Classic Plain’

Ordered 4m which made two pairs of trousers and one waistcoat

Ensure the pattern repeats when you input the design into the website

Satin

The waistcoat is lined with dark blue satin, the satin is also used to make pockets

You will need 1m of relatively sturdy satin

I found some at my local materials market

Buttons

I raided my original Cosdaddy outfit for these

The buttons on there don’t have the same pattern but are similarly patterned

Try a military or surplus shop

Jacket

A match for the jacket is very hard to come by. I’ve looked in a lot of shops across the year and anything even remotely similar has been very expensive

I would genuinely recommend biting the bullet and getting the jacket from a pre-made cosplay website (Cosdaddy)

The cosplay website lists the coat as £56 currently

Socks

The exact ones I bought are the SockShop Burst Bamboo Socks- the shade is called ‘Purple People Eater’ (I know right!!)

Here there is a slight trade off between comfort and accuracy

The screen accurate socks are a shade warmer than these but bamboo socks are miles better for comfort at conventions

Shoes

I’ve attached a picture of my shoes, I bought them at a charity shop

The actual onscreen ones are described as ‘Grey Suede Derby’ shoes, though they look brown under lighting (and mud)

The main idea here is to muddy/scuff shoes that look a bit like this

Chain

I’ve sadly lost the chain I was using but I would recommend getting a standard silver coloured chain from a market stall

If you’ve made a pocket on your waistcoat you could put a fob watch in there

Most cons will have stalls with prop replicas on

TCE

A friend managed to source the models needed to 3D-print a TCE replica!

the other day I was with a friend and stop by a sockshop to adquire a new hose, since the ones I already own are a bit old and shrinks while in use

quite embarrasing get into a underwear shop with female staff and female clientele, tho the boss/owner pop up from outside an was male... they didn't have hose for males and offered me some shorts, so I took a unisize hose, ones home I hide them due the selfshame

today I decided to wear them since has being cooling down in the mornings, they feels very nice
