since multiple people asked about the cube, it's actually a Solight MegaPuff and you can get it on their website or more expensively through amazon using my affiliate link. amazon pays pennies so don't feel obligated to do that. i keep it folded up on the windowsill to charge and when the power's out it works great to have light, although we haven't yet had an outage significant enough for me to need to charge my phone with it. anyway now join me in lusting after a completely different product, the Solight QWNN which looks like half a star so i'd need to buy two of the goddamn things to get the aesthetic i really want and i'd need to fold them up during the day to charge them which i can already tell would be A Whole Thing but goddamn if i don't want it anyway.

driveby psa enabling. we suspect solar lanterns will go on sale ... pretty much across the board? i buy direct and there's always a labor day sale (luci, solight, etc). the cheapest ones will collapse flat (stocking stuffers?!), they all have emergency flashing, and the pricier ones have cables for phone charging. if you're food-secure it's probably within budget range
