I think the moment Alicent finally released she loved Rhaenyra in a romantic way was in ep 1.4, but the sad thing is there wasn’t a turning back for way they become at this time, they weren't the same anymore.

She has a different life now - a motherhood and a crown she never really wanted but she has to behold and she also sees Rhaenyra as someone she could no longer trust, what they had and what they could never had was something in the past and nothing could change that. But the love was there, and I think that made her angry.

I always see people talking about "how jealously she was" but NO! She was heartbroken!!!!!!

Alicent was heartbroken because Rhaenyra didn’t trust her anymore, and she could never trust Rhaenyra again. Alicent was angry because she lied to her and she started to release that in some way Rhaenyra could find ways to runaway from the duties she could never run from, and I personally think that this don't really made her jealous but made her heartbroken because maybe everything she wanted was her by her side, supporting her and helping her to find ways to runaway from that too, but she could never have that, maybe she couldn’t even release that.

I think this ep was the first time she released she could never really have love for her.

My opinion on VegasPete's development in the series

⚠️ Novel spoilers ⚠️

I'm going to be really honest here...

I'm really disappointed in the way they developed VegasPete story on the show. Of course, in terms of the torture and the sex, I liked the series version a lot more, without a doubt, but the rest of their story... all the development was lacking!!

Anyone who hasn't read the novel will think that their relationship is totally focused on torture, daddy issues, sex, choking and suddenly they're in love??!!

It doesn't make any sense, where are the crucial moments in the novel that made the two of them get closer? Where's the scene where they see the movie "Coco" hugging each other? (I WAS DYING TO SEE THIS SCENE THE MOST) Where's the scene with Pete helping Vegas with his reports and Vegas patting his head?? Where’s the sweet kiss they had in the bathroom? Where is the scene where Vegas shaves Pete’s beard? Them eating together and Pete making Vegas eat spicy food even though he doesnt like it??!! okay im gonna stop or i will start crying

Another very important thing they took away was that when Vegas loves, he's never able to hurt that person and all of a sudden they have him grabbing Pete's neck and threatening to kill him again??! it just didnt make any sense at that point.

They took away a lot of important stuff from the novel and totally screwed up on the development of their love and I'm really disappointed. When I saw that their story started so late in the series, I already expected that they wouldn't put everything but I had hopes that they would at least put scenes that in the novel are crucial to their story.

But I want to point out that even though I don't like how their story is being represented, I have to congratulate Build and Bible because they are doing an amazing job representing VegasPete and I can't imagine anyone else doing that so well except them.

Anyways... this is my opinion and I want to know yours! Tell me what are you thinking about their story?

not all that well, unfortunately! daniel speaking spanish (in-game selvadoradan) was something that developed sort of naturally? my fiance speaks spanish rather fluently & some local dialects he learned from people he's worked with, so he helps me with most of my translations and colloquialisms but i also use online translators because... i suck. :|

i am learning though! my coworkers in the kitchen and up front speak spanish and they've been teaching me a lot (i want to communicate with them more as i'm not ignorant to the fact that im a textbook gringa dskfdklfjs) and it's been a wonderful experience! i am more than open to people correcting me and letting me know what's right and what's wrong, etc. i'm very eager to learn more!✨

i never spoke or understood a target language better than when i was unemployed and just spent hours bingeing tv in that language

#closest substitute for listening to actual conversations #i know podcasts exist but the tv allowed additional context for the words making it much easier to understand #i will never have that amount of free time in my life tho so i will never learn the target language #also i lowkey gave up on it bc i wanted to learn it to speak with my beloved great aunt who had nobody left to speal her mother tongue with #but she died two years ago shortly after i moced home 💔#and i wasnt confident in it enough to speak to her and she was already sick and in the hospital when i got back :(#anyway i COULD go to canada for some exposure to the language but its silly and pointless now #plus i have a new job #i started learning spanish instead but i have no more motivation and now my duolingo owl is dying of neglect like a neopet #i feel like i have a stronger base in french to try again but there's no point bc french is basically a useless language tbh #like i saw a few job postings looking for people fluent in french and english where i live but i cant imagine they use it much #anyway i dont want to answer phones for a living #and with nobody to talk to my french will never be that good #anyway rip duo owl im sorry #i will try to do some lessons but i will never be fluent in anythinggg 🥲#american school system die by my sword #why do they not start teaching languages until the neuroplastisicty of childhood is gone.....#only people in actual bilingual families or rich people who pay for tutoring or additional classes get to learn a second language?#unless you're naturally gufted at languages #which i am not #its sooo embarrassing #this has been a shitpost
