the fun thing about writing ruby and yang is adding blake to the mix as the token only child of team rwby. like, we've already been shown that they are very physical sisters-- by that, i mean, that one of the first scenes they have around blake during v1 is them LITERALLY beating each other up because yang was babying ruby.

i want them to do something so stupidly sibling-like that leaves blake dumbfounded.

like, maybe they are cuddling and ruby enters the room, looks at yang, strikes a random pose, maybe even annoys yang by throwing a random pillow at her, says nothing, and leaves.

blake, only child, ears folded against her head: is she... is she mad at you? did you do something to her?

Excuse me while I scream. This is everything I wanted! I love me some Ruby and Yang moments, and this movie had so much!

Also, one of my big complaints is that Yang is getting pushed to the background, her abandonment issues not being addressed, the forgotten PTSD, ECT. And this movie brought her to the front and center!

I need people to write a Yang POV of the possession, or and extended version.

Okay, but can we talk about the fact that deep down Yang still seems to think they’re all dead right now? Like… after Weiss voices the concern that they may not be able to leave, Yang immediately responds with.

What if we’re dead? Until you all found me I thought for sure I was.

Yang looks so defeated when she says that and while we aren’t able to see Ruby’s full reaction since her back is turned to us the rest of the episode, you can tell this line of thought alarms her. Her eyes don’t just widen her entire pupil shape changes and she doesn’t stop staring at Yang even when Yang and Weiss’s attention shifts to Blake.

Also, Yang’s face when Blake says she doesn’t think they’re dead.

That’s the face of a woman clinging to the first semblance of hope anyone’s offered her, and based on the trailer, she’s the only one we know immediately seems on board with Blake’s fairytale idea…

Which she’s probably clinging to because while she was okay with dying herself, she’s not okay with the rest of the team following her…

Bess coming to Connie distressed and in tears sometime after she and Wolf have been official. Apparently it was the anniversary of the day Wolf realized he was in love with her, and he decided to mark the day and share thid information by gifting Bess a VERY lovely and somewhat expensive hair comb she'd been eyeing in a shop window for some time.

This is the first time Wolf has spent this much money on her for one, small gift, and it triggers Bess' fear that her mother is right and that, subconsciously, she's just with Wolf for his money. That deep down, she's a gold digger and a horrible person.

"I never told him to get it for me! I never even asked if he would! All I said was I liked the comb, and it was something I would get if I had the money for it. But... but what if I was being manipulative without thinking about it? What if I said it in a way or said something that made Wolf think he HAD to get it for me? What if I made some implication somehow that I'd leave if he didn't spend money on me? What if I really just am with him for his money, deep down?"

AWW BESS.

Connie, of course, goes in for the hug first, and helping wipe those tears.

"Oh, Bess, honey...this is good news! He pays attention, and got you a beautiful gift!"

Then her genuine concerns come out, and Connie is quick to try to help. "Sweetheart...I was married to a manipulator for almost 20 years. Nobody is manipulative on accident.

"Also, may I remind you, when we were first talking about you fancying Wolf, you never ONCE mentioned his money. His intellect, his business sense, yes, but never his money. You always expressed concerns about you being good enough for him, not the other way around. You always talk about him, not his money, or how much you want it...because that's not how you see him. You see him as a man and companion, not a blank check. Right? I think you do. If you were only chasing him for money...well, you've been pulling a very intense, multi-year plan to get there. And all on accident."

A soft giggle and forehead kiss. "Sorry. You're a beautiful woman who is in love with a handsome man. You're no manipulative money-chaser, and trust me, I've met many."

Okay, hear me out. When everyone is out of the Ever After and Ruby is back to her "normal" self(because the tree WILL NOT erase her, I refuse to believe that!), She's not allowed to drink tea, or at the very least not from a tea cup.

Not because her team won't let her, Ruby is her own person and can drink what she wants. But because what happened the first time.

Like, they were invited over by a huntsmen or something and offered tea. They didn't think anything about it, until Ruby drank from her cup.

She made the mistake of looking up at her team, and then making eye contact with Yang, who immediately was sent onto panic mode and hit the cup out of her hands out of instinct(because she knew what happened when she didn't last time). And then proceeded to have a panic attack. Blake and Weiss looked better on the outside, but they were also reminded of it and were just keeping it together for Yang.

Ruby felt guilty for putting them through that again, and vowed to never do that again, so she put in place the tea rule.
