hellooooo i have just read (and adored) your tennis au and as a fellow tennis lover i have come here to state my availability to discuss sofia kenin, her no-look serve, and basically everything about her whole coaching situation bc oh my god what is happening there...if that is also an interest of yours let me know!!!

oh my GOD em I literally squealed when this came in. I’m so available I’m SO incredibly available to discuss this!!!!!

the no-look serve, firstly, hahaha. it’s so amusing to watch and also have you seen how she covers the tips of ears w her hat/visor? it’s so subtle but so distinct, makes me do a giggle I won’t lie.

onto the coaching situation - her dad’s been her main ‘coach’ forever (while consulting experienced coaches). Have heard he’s very intense / passionate to see her succeed (perhaps to a fault?) / based on that I’d guess she sort of needed a break? And fired him? (temporarily, I guess, as he’s re-hired now???)

Not 100% sure what the dynamic is..if she has a team of coaches or it’s really just him as the main one, but obv it worked well for her!! Can’t knock a slam champ!! But how weird was that Instagram post she made announcing their split months ago? Like ‘splitting ways’ w her father? Super odd!!! Tell me YOUR thoughts please please tell me everything!!!

you should tell me abt your tennis & racket I know nothing abt them but I just went through their tags like the vibe is impeccable, whats their DEAL =?

okay well FIRST rule of rackettennis is that you have to order their names in order of 1. racket 2. tennis when listing them or else it doesnt work. i.e. "racket & tennis". this rule has no purpose except that i like how it sounds. also god bless you for this ask and i will try to formulate a reasonable summary of their existences. Umm Umm warning for character-related mentions of self harm/suicide.

so racket is basically like... a 4chan NEET but a girl #diversitywin. stays in her room for 90% of the day and gets mad at internet posts. probably plays league and other horrible games. has a history of engaging in various forms of self harm and def deals with suicidal ideation. her only "friend" is tennis whom she talks to online infrequently.

tennis is Normal she is so NORMAL!!!! she is normal in like a quirky/alternative but acceptable manner. has lots of friends and goes outside on a frequent basis to engage in social activities with them. has subtle but chronic :3-face. she plays fortnite in public but plays comparably obscure boomer shooters (in private (no one can know about this except racket.)) talks to racket out of pity and amusement. has anger issues (in private(no one can know about this.))

i've done very little work in terms of tangible writing or setup for what their story would be, but if i made it i imagine it as a non-sburb-related mspfa where they get isekai'd into a world which allows for their relationship and mental health issues to be explored.
