SO!!! I think personally i subscribe to the idea that ratchet had a slut era in college, like a big slut era. like. A VERY VERY BIG SLUT ERA. like i think ratchet can name sex positions most people have never heard of, i think head from ratchet could have fixed every problem and probably ended the war, i think getting ridden by ratchet can cure every illness, etc etc

however the most important part of my subscription to slut era college ratchet is that HE! IS! TIRED! and he doesn't fuck around like that anymore because he doesnt have the time. like i think hes still into the stuff he was and its not like hes trying to hide that, but hes just... like. Old. and tired. and riding someone amazon style is fucken hard on his joints and he doesnt want to bother.

My first thought when you said speedster medic on the dratchrod kid post was “Oh Knock Out” which is an incredibly cursed concept lmao

like, imagine Knock Out being the dratchrod kid

Ratchet is just looking at this little sparkling obsessed with his reflection in a medical tool tray (which drift is holding up for him) like "why is he like this, where is this vanity coming from?"

and it hard cuts over to Rodimus preening himself after a fresh coat of wax, like "does my spoiler look good or what? hey drift, think I'm ready for bridge duty?"

Ratchet and Drift just look at each other. lmao

bonus: Ratchet has Velocity babysit the sparkling in his office in the med bay when an emergency lockdown is called and Ratchet is summoned to the shuttle bay to assist with some away mission injuries (she's the only one who can take him, First Aid is acting CMO so can't do it and Drift/Rodimus were both on the bridge and already involved in whatever's going on)

it all ends up being fine, but when he rushes back to the med bay as soon as he can to check on everything, a very tired Velocity just shoves Knock Out into his hands and says "you don't have to worry Ratchet, you have a little medic on your hands after all. or at least, definitely a plastic surgeon. maybe a derma-repair specialist."

Knock Out seems happy, he's holding a little stylus in one hand and a toy scalpel in the other, totally oblivious to all the panic that was happening a few minutes ago

then Ratchet looks up and sees that Velocity is absolutely covered in random paint lines from the stylus, mostly on her face and upper arms -- the paint is red and sticks out against her teal paint.

Ratchet realises that Knock Out probably observed Ratchet marking out a few incision lines on the armour of patients being prepared for surgical procedures, using the same type of paint stylus.

Velocity is good spirited about it, but less than thrilled, lmao. "personally I don't think I need all this work done, but I'm sure he'll be brilliant once he's certified."

when she leaves to go wash it all off and fix her top coat, Ratchet is just standing there holding a very happy Knock Out who looks like he's thinking about drawing on Ratchet as well (or at least, the parts of Ratchet he can reach)

but after some careful sparkling consideration, it seems Knock Out thinks his carrier is perfect-- no work needed. :')

OKAY SO!!!

I characterize Drift as having a lot of problems. Like, he's more of a pile of issues than a guy, specifically around the stuff he finds... sexually stimulating.

I imagine Drift as a switch, but more of a top than a bottom. I picture him enjoying to give a lot, do things his partners find fun, kind of disregard the stuff that gets him off in favour of pleasing his partners(in my mind- Ratchet and Rodimus).

NOW I THINK THE REASON he does this is because he's into- in his mind- freak shit, and would rather die than deal with the rejection of one of his partners not wanting to do the stuff he's into. So he's made the decision for them that they won't like it, and therefore must NEVER hear of it.

This is because drift connects literally everything he does to a vast and complex web of moral codes and personal rules that make him feel like he's a good person. Every good thing he does is a lifeline that he is good, every bad thing he does is confirmation that he is, indeed, still a horrible person like he was when he was deadlock.

All of this is preamble to say:

I believe that Drift believes any amount of sexual sadomasochism he engages in by imagining doing things like tying his partners up or chasing them down before railing them is morally objectionable to the point that it proves he is an awful evil person.

SO! Drift is probably incredibly fucking pent up, but stubbornly refuses to tell either Ratchet or Rodimus a thing about his sexual fantasies. He bottoms for Rodimus because rodimus believes drift is a bottom, and drift believes Rodimus would hate bottoming for him. He's gotten a little further with Ratchet, because he struggles to hide stuff from ratchet more, but either way, there is still something 'sinister' brewing below the surface.

Drift is GREAT at self control, but most of the time that he's horny i think he's sort of like this

And he would, in my mind, need some kind of kick to start being more honest about the stuff he's into. He's too busy looking for the perfect opportunity to subtly hint that possibly he'd like to hunt his partners for sport to realize that he's in a safe and happy situation where he could literally just tell them and they'd be into it.

So i picture Drift fantasizes. A lot. about the stuff he'd like to do(and possibly has done in some alternate stories, albeit as Deadlock) to his partners. And pioneers the practice of catholic guilt as a cybertronian who probably doesn't know about the concept of catholicism.

I imagine he does this when he's supposed to be meditating, then takes a very cold shower at the washracks while feeling bad for his immoral and evil thoughts

dw though, eventually, drift will get his secret revealed and there will be peace and love on the lost light.
