thank you @athenswrites for the tag! i shall add @imslowlydisintegrating and @taeonysus8 (i really need more writer moots sob sob)

the rules of this tag game: write 2-5 songs that represent a ship between your characters (can be romantic or platonic or a secret third thing). then add a quote from your WIP beneath each song (if possible!).

i've decided that i'm gonna focus on Jae and Jun from TGCT for this since i'm currently working on that fic and this might help me get the vibes right for once (literally on my third rewrite already, someone send help ;^;)

this song reminds me of them because, in a moment of vulnerability, Jae makes Jun promise that he will keep hating her until the end of time. her greatest secret is that she is terminally ill (suffering from a heart illness) and that's why she lives every day like it's her last - considering how she refuses bad medication most days, she could drop dead at any moment. anyway, she has no problem hanging out with Jun and getting into messy situations with him because she believes that he will keep hating her indefinitely. unlike her friends, he won't mourn her when she dies - or at least that's what she believes. even when things get a little heated and feelings start brewing, Jae pushes the longing aside and intends to cut him off when the time comes. having a relationship with him would only subject Jun to a great deal of heartache and Jae would much rather he stay as her enemy than have him become something more only to end up wasting his life on mourning her once she passes away.

"Please hate me," Jae whispered, pulling him out of his thoughts.  When he turned to look at her, he was caught off by the silent plea shining in her eyes. "Why?" Jun frowned, confused by her request. "Why do you want me to hate you?" "Because you hated me before," Jae responded quietly. "It should be easy for you to keep hating me even if we start hanging out and acting civil with one another like this." A sad smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she added, "Besides, you never liked me in the first place, did you? So don't change that now. Don't stop hating me."

Jun is the first to breach the thin line between love and hate. being reluctant acquaintances with Jae seems impossible until he finds himself thinking constantly about her, wondering if she got home safely from school, becoming irritated when she's too close to other guys, and so on. he denies it time and time again, half because he cannot imagine that he could've caught feelings for his enemy and half because he subconsciously knows that nothing good will come out of him developing feelings for her. still, a part of him can't help but yearn to cross over that line. unfortunately, Jae is intent on staying enemies. no one said anything about that coming with a few benefits though...

Uh oh, he thought, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed. This won't end well. "Hey," he uttered quietly, knowing that he should probably step away from her but not being able to move from the spot. Jae quirked her eyebrow at him. Equally quietly, she replied, "Hi...?" "About my wish..." "What about it?" Jun's eyes flickered down to her lips briefly. Influenced by a sudden burst of bravery, he blurted out, "I know what I want." "Oh yeah?" Jae tilted her head to the side curiously, a small smile playing on her lips. She found his awkwardness adorable, but she wasn't about to tell him that. Instead, voice quiet, she prompted, "What is it?" "...Kiss me."

when they figure out that they are living in the world of a manhwa and that all that they have been through was scripted by The Writer for the plot, Jae and Jun begin to question everything - their past, their hardships, their relationship, and where The Writer intends to take the story next. amidst the chaos, they start to remember bits and pieces of their previous lives and both start wondering whether their feelings for one another are real or if, perhaps, they are nothing more than a set-up forced upon them by their god.

I've said pretty much this exact thing on Twitter several times already when that site was still usable (as in it functioned and at least didn't give you constant error messages) but goddamn Amalthus is such an amazing villain !!!

(now u guys here have to deal with my repetitive rambles bc I can't fucking regulate my emotions and properly process how much I like Xenoblade so I must scream about it somewhere or else I Will Explode <3)

He's such a great antithesis to Xenoblade's overarching themes/message of the power in friendship, trust, compassion and hope and the perseverance of the human spirit. And on a smaller scale he's also a fantastic antithesis to Rex. They both lost their parents at a young age, they both saw people commit some truly awful things. Rex's believe in a better future - in a literal mystical utopia - and his unfaltering kindness got strengthened; Amalthus succumbed to his despair entirely.

Also I absolutely love how he isn't just like that because he's weak spirited or whatever. His beliefs are a direct result of the Indoline political and religious doctrine. He's more or less a personification of the extreme conclusions to it (and also to some extent Judicium's general beliefs abt the world but unfortunately the info xbc2 and tgct give us about Judicium is just crumbs). I'm probably treading into some speculation/headcanon territory here. Indol's general social structure seems to be far more atomized/individualistic than that of other places in xbc2 probably due to its wealth while Indol is also posing as this beacon of virtue - a nation that must help others because it is better than them. Like, of course he doesn't believe in compassion and kindness. He probably never really experienced those personally and all of his most lasting impressions of the outside world were of people doing horrible things. And of course he doesn't treat Blades as people; that's just how things are. He's thoroughly adopted Indol's views of the world. Even his delusions of grandeur were a direct result of this.

I know that as a character he is a person with his own agency and he failed to ever question these views and I absolutely understand why people in the fandom don't like him; he's not supposed to be a likeable character. But as a narrative tool he's fantastic. He's a personification of a logical extreme to a fascistic theocratic nation which makes him such a good villain in the setting of xbc2 and just generally xbc as a series

I have so many more detailed thoughts abt this tbh but I'm neither eloquent nor smart enough to untangle that mess and express them in a way they make sense outside of my head but, like, you get what I mean. I love Amalthus so much and I also hate him. I want to tear him apart limb by limb but I also think he's fantastic

Medicina, Vol. 59, Pages 2033: The Role of #miRNA in Testicular #cancer: Current Insights and Future Perspectives

Background and Objectives: Despite advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of testicular germ cell tumours (TGTCs), challenges persist in identifying reliable biomarkers for early detection and precise disease management. This narrative review addresses the role of micro#RNAs (#miRNAs) as potential diagnostic tools and therapeutic targets in the treatment of TGCTs. Materials and Methods: Three databases (PubMed&reg;, Web of Science&trade;, and Scopus&reg;) were queried for studies investigating the utility of #miRNA as diagnostic tools, assessing their prognostic significance, and evaluating their potential to guide TGCT treatment. Different combinations of the following keywords were used, according to a free-text protocol: &ldquo;#miRNA&rdquo;, &ldquo;non-coding #RNA&rdquo;, &ldquo;small #RNA&rdquo;, &ldquo;Testicular #cancer&rdquo;, &ldquo;seminomatous testicular germ cell&rdquo;, &ldquo;non-seminomatous testicular germ cell&rdquo;. Results: The potential of #miRNAs as possible biomarkers for a non-invasive diagnosis of TGCT is appealing. Their integration into the diagnostic pathway for TGCT patients holds the potential to enhance the discriminative power of conventional serum tumour markers (STMs) and could expedite early diagnosis, given that #miRNA overexpression was observed in 50% of GCNIS cases. Among #miRNAs, miR-371a-3p stands out with the most promising evidence, suggesting its relevance in the primary diagnosis of TGCT, particularly when conventional STMs offer limited value. Indeed, it demonstrated high specificity (90&ndash;99%) and sensitivity (84&ndash;89%), with good positive predictive value (97.2%) and negative predictive value (82.7%). Furthermore, a direct relationship between #miRNA concentration, disease burden, and treatment response exists, regardless of disease stages. The initial evidence of #miRNA decrease in response to surgical treatment and systemic chemotherapy has been further supported by more recent results suggesting the potential utility of this tool not only in evaluating treatment response but also in monitoring residual disease and predicting disease relapse. Conclusions: Mi#RNAs could represent a reliable tool for accurate diagnosis and disease monitoring in the treatment of TGCT, providing more precise tools for early detection and treatment stratification. i really can’t believe how i’m feeling now compared to a few weeks ago. sure, i’m in a ton of post-surgical pain, considering i’m only 3 days out from surgery, but a year’s worth of chronic pain in my hip is magically gone overnight. this incision in my thigh is nothing compared to what that pain felt like. and it makes sense, since the tumor they pulled out was around 4 inches by 2 inches. that’s larger than two golf balls! they thought it was far smaller from the scan, but when they started pulling it out.. it just kept coming. (my surgeon called it a “clown car” tumor.) the doctor thinks i have tgct/pvns, which was the original diagnosis, except the final scan and surgery determined that mine is localized, not diffuse, which has a much lower recurrence rate - and it could actually mean that my surgery is curative!

i’m still incredibly incapacitated due to the nerve block and nerve pain pump keeping my leg pretty much useless, but i can do small movements now and i’m able to walk relatively effectively with the walker. all that being said though, i’d take this over the previous pain any day. it also helps knowing that this is temporary. i’m in surprisingly good spirits, all things considered. i’m holding onto hope and looking toward a brighter future, one in which my quality of life is worlds better than it is now!

Wei wuxian, Xie Lian and Luo Binghe are friends. (They and Nie Huaisang and SQX and Jing Cheng are a pretty much a gang). They would be the three ya know that is always in the wrong place wrong hour. Wei Wuxian would take care of Binghe, like a older brother having but being the bad influence to him, meanwhile XL and Wei Ying would get along pretty well because they would never judge each other, XL be older brother and good influence for them.

San Lang, He Xuan and SQQ hang out together sometimes but mostly cause they're from the same house and SQQ is one of the only person that San Lang can stand(besides his lover XL ofc) and SQQ is all poker face and clever outside but inside he loves hang out with the bad boys that everyone is afraid of from the school, he feels so cool.

Pei Ming and Nie Mingjue are friends.

The Nie family all were from Gryffindor through generations, NM pick on Huaisang for don't be Gryffindor.

Mu Qing feel jealousy of Feng Xin and Xie Lian being from the same house, he feels left out sometimes.

Nie Huaisang keeps following and watching SQX because of their spiritual fan, he just wants one too. He and SQX are friends.

Wei Ying and Luo Binghe starts using dark magic in the fifth year. They're learning from San Lang.

The Headmaster (Zu Wu) makes Xie Lian life a living hell(Kinda Snape with Harry but worse or reversed Dumbledore) but because of this XL had faced multiple mosnters and saved the school many times become the school hero and mostly popular kid. Until he fails one day and becomes the school joke.

SQQ is a couple years older than Binghe, he saved his life and the boy started following him around and he kind allowed and let he grow on him and didn't noticed that every year the boy was more and more in love with him.

San Lang was the weird kid that got bullied from day one, Xie Lian was one year ahead and saved him multiple times, what made him admire and care for him, but San Lang couldn't saved him when they got in serious trouble with some monsters, so he decided be stronger, as he grows up he falls in love with XL and become powerful, even using dark magic, nobody bully him anymore, everyone is scared of him and he can finally protects his beloved.

When XL falls in love with him, Mu Qing and Feng Xin freak out "he's in love with you since the first Year, he's crazy", "He's Slytherin" "He uses dark magic".

Lan Zhan would ended up asking help for Xie Lian, (they're kinda friends because of Wei Ying friendship with XL) to try stop Wei Wuxian from using dark magic and get hurt, Xie Lian accepts but he knew that San Lang also used and he was okay with, so when they find out that Wei Ying is taking lesson from San Lan, things got complicated and weird. And once again XL is between his lover and his friends, cause Lan Zhan wants fights San Lang.

But later when Binghe and Wei Wuxian falls in some dark abys and disappear, presumably dead, XL feel guilty and many people blame him, cause they were always together and people thinks is his jobs save everyone all time. San Lang feel they could be alive, so he (Lan Zhan and SQQ) go after them. He only find them five years later, when they're no longer in school, and that would be another story...
