2. Which of your WIPs is currently the longest?

That'd be the NOPE fanfic, which is 3422 words so far. I know, it's not a long thing, but I have bits and pieces for my WIPs before I polish and publish them.

3. Which WIP do you expect will end up the longest?

Maybe the Ashley Graydon Masked Apprentice AU? Depending on if I ever write more of it to create chapters.

4. Which WIP is your favourite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?

The Trane one is fun because Jane is just so unapologetically mean as a narrator. And she bashes Troy a lot, which is awesome.

5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?

Probably the bark bark bark one bc I want to match the beauty and darkness of the two pieces of fanart that inspired it. And I want people to read it, I don't want it written off as "oh emi, making hongou and the kurashikis like each other just like you tried to peddle back in 2012, huh?" Like, no - that's not what's happening there. They're working together but Hongou is very much a bastard and very much getting what's coming to him anyway.

6. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?

See above tbh. And I get nervous about the NOPE fic bc it's a finale of sorts to my series.

7. Which of your WIPs will you seek out a beta/sensitivity reader for? Why?

I don't use betas/sensitivity readers ever, so. None.

8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block?

LMAO like ALL of them? Plus several more I have let fall by the wayside for years??

9. Which WIP has your favourite OC? Tell us about them?

None of them have OCs...

10. Which WIP is the sexiest?

The Trane soulmate AU's got some smut in there, so that one.

11. Which WIP is the angstiest?

Tie between Kieran and Ashley. Kieran just deserves a hug and Ashley... well, he can have one too, but doesn't deserve it as much.

12. Which WIP has the best characterisation (in your humble opinion)?

I... I don't know. Lots of them feature characters with just a glimpse of a canon personality, so it's unclear how "accurate" they are written.

13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)?

I like the NOPE fic. It's a sweet piece from Emerald's POV - she gets to talk with Ryder this time. c:

14. Which WIP have you worked the hardest on?

Hard to say tbh. I think they're all about even.

15. Which WIP do you have the highest expectations for? Why?

I... think the Kieran one would probably be the most popular. The rest are pretty obscure haha.

1) How did Jodie come to terms about liking Woods, especially because of all the shit she went through?

4) What are the most toxic parts in Woods and Jodie’s relationship? Do they argue a lot? Have they ever broken up?

I'll get straight into it <3

1) How did Jodie come to terms about liking Woods, especially because of all the shit she went through?

She really struggled to come to terms with it in the beginning, like she was in denial that these feelings were genuine and were reciprocated with any conditions. She'd been physically attracted to him for a long time, even during the campaign, but when the memories of her past came flooding back, the feelings she had became tainted. They were tainted with that worry that he was only getting close with her because it was his job, not because he actually genuinely had feelings himself. So when she returns to the CIA after everything that happened, she becomes closed off again, fighting these feelings and refusing to acknowledge that there is genuine potential for a healthy-ish (cause they're not perfect so it's not perfect) relationship.

When it finally starts to happen, though, is when she realises that Frank still treats her how he did before it all came to light about who she was. He'd would have had his struggles coming to terms with that himself, but it's not her fault, and he would make sure she knew that he saw her no differently. She was still Jodie. She was the one who chose to help them. She was still the woman that he met in that safe house and no one and nothing could convince him otherwise, past or person.

I think that's the point when she lets herself come to terms with how she feels because it's... he's not lying. He gains nothing from it, there's no conditions. She felt wanted, for real, and it was hard not to cave in to it.

2) Does Jodie have any addictions? Could range from like alcohol to being a workaholic.

So, she's addicted to cigarettes definitely. She needs the nicotine to calm her nerves. She can be a workaholic - she felt like she was useless unless she worked, whether that was for Perseus, Adler and now currently the CIA. After all, in her mind, she had no other purpose than to be a tool for the CIA against the Perseus faction, given her previous affiliation.

Frank and Alex helped her out with that, made her come to some understanding that, you know, you're one of us. They also told Hudson and Adler to back off, she's only human, after all, not a fucking machine.

It get's her quite sick at times.

3) How does Woods change Jodie for the better?

I had to spend a few days mulling this over because at first I had that knee-jerk reaction of 'oh fuck' because it's such a good question and I hadn't put much thought into this aspect of them.

SO! I think it's quite simply that he'd change her outlook on trusting herself. There's aspects of her that has such an internalised mistrust and fear of herself, based on the fact that she used to be affiliated with Perseus and that she can't fully recall her past; there's parts of it that are clouded with brain fog, due to the brainwashing, and she just can't trust if what she remembers of herself is right. Can she say that she always intended to give Perseus up or is that an implanted memory? Can she say that she never wanted to do what Perseus asked or is she misremembering? Was she actually the kind of person that enjoyed hurting people in his name? And at times she convinces herself that she is, in fact, some monster that relished in the suffering of others, that loved the idea of destroying half the world.

She'll dive into this pit of guilt and it leads her to not trust herself with certain people etc. To begin with, she couldn't win this fight on her own, but Frank, in his own way, has his own guilt for his own reasons and can recognise that kind of internal conflict. Fuck, he's been there, done that and got the fucking t-shirt. He's not some therapist, but he'd probably work with her, talk it out, do something because he can't bear to see her fight herself over shit that's in her head.

Having someone consistently remind you of who you are, remind you to fucking trust yourself... yeah, he'd have helped her to fight that demon, urging her into a better version of herself so that, eventually, the demon might not raise it's head as much as it used to.

This issue is most prevalent when she has Ashley and Frank, yeah, helps her change her outlook there, too.

4) What are the most toxic parts in Woods and Jodie’s relationship? Do they argue a lot? Have they ever broken up?

Hmm, their bad arguments can get pretty heated. These kinds of arguments are far and few between, but when they happen they can be explosive. Usually it'll be because of a miscommunication or something like that.

They once had an argument bad enough that Jodie locked him out of the flat she was living in and refused to talk to him. But that's because she thought he had undermined her and went behind her back to discuss her skill and position in the team, when that wasn't the case, Hudson just can't emote for shit and fucking stirred the pot.

I wouldn't say they have super toxic traits within the relationship, nothing that would be a red flag, but of course they have their rough patches.

Also, they haven't broken up. They are stuck with each other whether they like it or not.

5) What would make Jodie happy?

Hmm, two things.

Hunting down Keith Wells to the ends of the earth and then putting him through the same amount of pain he did her. (Spoiler: she does this and he deserves everything he has coming to him.)

2. Living out the rest of her days with her family, growing old and just keeping that little circle of three safe and happy. Yeah, she gets her happy ending and will do anything to keep it safe.

6) How does she cope (both negatively and positively) after the brainwashing?

Right, so this is a healing process with Jodie; to begin with she doesn't cope with the knowledge of being brainwashed very well. She's angry, upset, confused, betrayed, a whole lot of emotions. In the initial moments of being told, she probably goes through the seven stages of grief in 0.5 seconds flat, which is intense. She actually contemplates not telling the truth, a small whim of spite urging her to sabotage everything Adler and his team had done to try and get to Perseus, not because she wants to protect the man or the faction, but because she wanted to fuck Adler over.

But, she knows that she'd regret doing that, so she doesn't.

After that, the initial months wouldn't be kind to her; she'd have brain fog, headaches, nausea - all the physical side effects of recovering from whatever they did to her. She'd really struggle coping with these, probably not eating properly due to lack of appetite, lack of sleep, nightmares etc. She'd also throw herself into work as though she's some sort of machine because her self worth is 'I am only useful when I am helping them', them being the CIA, Hudson etc.

With help and time, she would start to use strategies to cope. One way is the puzzle book - it keeps her mind busy, doesn't allow her to settle on silence for too long to allow thoughts to come in. She would still work, but she would make sure that her work is quality rather than quantity; whatever missions she gets, whatever work she does, she won't just churn out her skills for the sake of it. She puts a lot of meaning back into her actions because she now has the choice to do so. It would be her way of throwing away this idea that she was only useful when controlled.

(I struggle to explain my thoughts on this but hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say!!)

he’s laughing with you now, not because he’s in on the punchline but because he is just so, so in love with you— he would listen to your twinkling laugh all day if it were up to him.

you finally regain just enough of your composure to deepen the timbre of your voice to mock him, “thanks, babe.”

he takes pause at that one, laser-focused on the road. you’re stopped at a red light, he really doesn’t need to be focusing that hard (yes he does). your eyes are still on him; you didn’t say it to get a reaction out of him, but you’re pleased with the smile creeping onto his face anyway. the playful roll of his eyes. you love him, you’re sure of it.

ALSO regarding Belle and Maurice, they live in that village, does that mean they were also technically cursed along with everyone else ? do they remember anything after the curse is broken, or did they move to the Villeneuve after and live somewhere else first?

based on my own headcanon and hints from different books from the movie and such, it’s more likely that maurice brought belle there right from paris when she was a baby. so she grew up there. (and that’s where all my beloved little belle fics take place 🥹)

i think that journey took a while, as paris is northern france and they’re in “the heart of france” which i guess is the center? though i still picture them more south than not. southern center… anyway it’s a multiple days’ distance from paris, to say the least. so they still would have stayed in different towns and inns along the way (if i think about how Depressed and Numb maurice was in that journey, i’ll lose my mind) but i think villeneuve WAS where he landed. it was also a tricky journey because the plague was,, happening. so some towns were also closed off to outsiders. it wasn’t easy to stay just anywhere. but eventually, villeneuve let the weary traveler and his baby in. and maurice was too scared and traumatized to ever leave again. plague seemed to sort of evade the village, and he took that as a sign that belle would be okay there, and safe, as he promised maria. which leads him to his mantra that he tells belle in the movie: “small also means safe.”

but to answer the first part, yes!! i mean technically, it seems as though the entire world (or at least all of europe) was under the curse. not a damn soul was sending letters or visiting the french monarch ??? they simply all forgot. my interpretation is that agathe just kind of put everyone in a blissful state about the topic. like, french citizens just never found a reason to wonder/think about their prince. (even though they were DEFINITELY thinking about him A Lot before the curse, lowkey freaking out about the fact that he wouldn’t marry and get an heir in the works.) but in this state they just didn’t worry about their governance. and of course, anyone related to any of the staff members had the same blissful minds. we know that it does leave an odd feeling though, as monsieur jean says at the beginning of the movie “i feel like i’ve forgotten something. problem is, i can’t remember what.” (the thing he forgot was his wife. and his son. sjdksjdk) so it’s not a Total blissful state, but obviously the memory never returns, and in general people don’t seem to be too distressed by the feeling of having “forgotten something.”

as far as maurice and belle are concerned, they’re living like the rest of the world, simply not worried about who’s in charge. Before the curse, i do like to wonder what maurice & belle’s opinion of “the prince” was though. they’d probably hear rumors that he was apparently selfish and maybe a bit reckless. villagers aren’t gonna know all the tea, but they are the LOCAL village, so they’ve definitely seen many a carriage come through, as well as probably heard the loud parties that would occur so frequently. belle probably didn’t pay it much attention, honestly. she was probably aware that prince adam was around her age, but when she heard of his awfulness she was probably just like >:/ imagine having all that power and just Squandering it! but maurice would point out that “well maybe he doesn’t know how else to be. i don’t recall his father being much better.” and belle says “what about the rest of his family?” and maurice shrugs “well, the queen died years ago. when he was a child. i think he’s the only one.” and belle just feels… a hint of sympathy for him. but only a hint, because ultimately it’s not like SHE could do anything to help him… RIGHT?

side note, but i have this old wip/scene/thing set when belle is around seven. and news spreads that the queen passed away. maurice is reading the news like 😟 and belle asks what’s wrong and he tells her and she’s like oh that’s so sad!!!!!!!🥺🥺🥺 and he says yeah:( and tells her that “the prince is just a little older than you. he’s probably quite sad to lose his mother.” and belle’s like “🥺🥺🥺 well he’s still got his papa, right?” and maurice is like [screams internally because stop this feels too real] and says “yes, he still has his papa 🥹” and they carry on with their day, never really thinking about the prince again (until he’s older and in the news more), and not having any idea how awful it is that the prince is now stuck with his father, of course🫠

BUT YEAH ANYWAY, after the curse, memories all come flooding back, and she is suddenly able to connect the dots. she thinks it’s crazy how she could be IN the castle, SEEING portraits of the late king and the current prince, and not recognizing them at all. and adam’s just like “yeah well. the enchantress really had her fun with this one:/“ lmao. and she literally did??? she’s so powerful. she made the whole world forget about a centuries old monarchy. you gotta hand it to her, she really goes all out for making assholes learn their lessons 😮‍💨

Hellloooooo darl! Lovely to see you here, a pleasure as always <3 I hope you're having a good day and I just gotta say, I had an initial look at these questions before I start fleshing out the answers and damn! they're really good questions!

I won't natter too long though- again, thank you for being here, Liberty! :')

3. Do they wear the other's clothes? (sweatshirt, bandana, necklace etc.)

Ok! So, yes and no - there's a limit; Frank is absolutely fine if she steals his jumpers or even his t-shirts. They're a lot bigger on her and he's amused by how much it looks like it drowns her, but he also kinda likes that it's a comfort.

None of Jodie's clothes would fit him, so... even if he wanted payback he'd look like a teen having gone through a growth spurt. Jodie isn't exactly precious about her clothes, but she'd prefer if they weren't torn lmao.

Depending on the AU, Jodie does end up with his bandana. But... there's a reason for that, one I don't want to ruin because it will be upcoming in much later chapters of Call of Booty <.<

In the canon universe, though? Frank would not let her wear his bandana - I feel like it's something he's carried with him through most missions, if not all of them, that we've seen him participate in and I reckon it's a little like a good luck charm? I'm not so certain that Frank is superstitious or believes in that kind of thing (I don't get that vibe) but the bandana he wears around his head seems to be only for missions yk? If Jodie was ever to try and wear that, Frank might have a problem. Luckily, she respects that and wouldn't push it.

9. What are their thoughts on having children?

Ah, I love this question. I now get to reveal that later on in their relationship, Jodie does get caught pregnant and they end up parents to a lovely little girl.

However, their opinions on the matter were very, very different to begin with.

Frank, I feel, was enamoured with the idea of being a parent, a father, a lot quicker than Jodie had time to process being pregnant. Though the two had never had the conversation about children, he wasn't against it - he sees how Alex and Sarah are with David and he enjoys being an Uncle, so what really are the differences between that and being a father? Of course, he had his own worries and anxieties; would he be good enough etc. but yeah, he was happy with the idea of being a dad.

Jodie was different. I knew, for a fact, that she would not be able to cope with the idea of motherhood due to everything she had gone through in her life. It would have been the kind of thing she thought she'd only ever dream of. Or, the rhetoric of 'in another life', you know?

There's a lot of internal conflict within her regarding this and I do have every intention of writing this at some point in the future, but the general gist of her thoughts on children are this: I do not deserve the chance to be a mother. Something so innocent could never come from me. I will only ever fail them. And these are only the beginnings of her thoughts on this.

I won't lie, the pregnancy and a short time after birth was the toughest time for both of them because Jodie couldn't even bring herself to look at the baby. But, when she holds her for the first time, that's where it flips; she still have the anxieties, but there's a fervent, intense sense of protection that comes over Jodie and though she still struggles with motherhood, she vowed there and then to try and be better.

14. How do their personalities compliment each other? How do they clash?

Ahaha, again, depends on the AU.

I feel like in the canon universe, they don't clash as much as they do in the Call of Booty fic. Of course, this is because they're different versions of the base personalities, right?

But, in general, here are a couple things that they compliment each other with and clash over:

Jodie is less likely to 'lose her cool' compared to Frank. So when he starts to get annoyed by someone easily, she is a good counter to that; she'll usually either pat his arm or his tap her fingers to his wrist in a little gesture that he's rising and he'll calm down a little after that.

They tend to clash when either of them feels the other is underestimating their capabilities, especially Jodie. I feel like Frank, after the campaign and especially when they are together, is quite covertly protective of Jodie in the workplace. He sees the lasting effects of Perseus and the brainwashing and he just... he doesn't want her to experience anything like that again. But, rather than seeing it as he's trying to protect her, Jodie feels like he thinks she's not capable, or broken - something along those lines. So they clash over that kind of thing.

Within the pirate au? Damn... yes, they're probably gonna argue a lot, but that's because they've lived very different lives and have differing morals to begin with. She's a little more feisty in this au, too, because she hasn't had the life experience of losing everything, being controlled or brainwashed... but that also makes her kinda naive and it makes Frank want to pull his hair out.

19. How do they feel about PDA?

If I'm honest, they're indifferent to PDA. They neither hate it nor love it - I think it would come down to it being situational. Of course, I feel that, given certain situations, Frank might ramp it up a little and in response Jodie would be a little surprised but be alright with it.

But yeah, it'd be subtle little displays of affection when in public.
