ON THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS
MY TRUE LOVE SENT TO ME
[Crocodile x F!OC]
Explicit - 5.5k words / 13 pages
Tumblr media
(A/N) One large dick refusing to be contained, two bananawani for a picture perfectly framed. Three excellent sets of nightwear, and four shots that caught genuine care.
Actually, a teenager's absolute worst nightmare.
Nico Robin is a teen in the cruel throes of puberty, peer pressure and that never-ending sense of social shame. For I realised a few days ago that she has a massive gap in her canon from about age 12-ish onward until Crocodile runs into her at 24. So, as her teens match up beautifully with the nuclear disaster that is Crocodile and Shiv's marriage, I decided that what this insane ship really needed was a teenager and zero tools to deal with it. Also, the notion of him having been stuck fake single-parenting Robin after everything went royaly south with Shivs just tickles me, personally.
This story is set around the same time period as ‘Hooked On You’ and ‘The House Always Win’, in Alabaste at Rainbase, mostly in and around Rain Dinners. Because apparently, I am not over these two.
It may be a tad less polished than my usual stuff, because I wrote it at the break of my Christmas morning to deliver it to you all on your Christmas day. Enjoy!
Tag(s): Teenage rage quit. Reprehensible parenting. Several amazing sexy lingerie modelling moments, courtesy of yours truly being horny on main on Christmas morning. We've also got dry humping, hand jobs, some good fingering and dicks breaking containment simply by being that darn large. Graphic sex. Excellent banther. Solid comedy, if I may say so myself. Absolutely filthy language. Shivs too. Girl made him lose his shit. Size difference is still relevant, stretching and edging too. I'd say orgasm denial, though neither was down for that one. At least they got to wreck eachother real good in the end. I'll be over there, helping Robin putting herself back into the system. I'd wanna disappear off the face of the earth, too.

“You can't do this to me!” Robin all but stamped her feet.
Crocodile glanced away from Shivs to the fuming teenager, smoke escaping him as he caught her angry gaze. “I didn't realise we needed your permission.”
“This is humiliating!” she continued, beside herself with frustration. “I won't be able to show my face in public ever again!”
“You already can't, sweetie,” Shivs said in a tone not even on the same continent as comforting. “What with the World Government looking for you.”
“That’s not the point! You are murdering my social life!” Robin fumed as she glared at her adoptive parents. She'd sooner be an orphan again, she thought angrily. “Like, why are you even doing this? It's not like you need the money!”
Shivs tilted her head, taking the cigarillo from her mouth even. “It's fun?”
Robin switched her angry stare from her to Crocodile, but he was no help. Had the gall to chew that cigar as if he were actually thinking about it.
“What she said,” he said through a cloud of smoke.
“Hrgh!” Robin balled her fists at them. “I hate you both!”
When neither particularly responded to her outburst aside from blowing out more smoke and perhaps raising an eyebrow, she turned and stormed out, slamming his office door.
The Sphinxxx nightwear designer smoothed his tailored jacket with a nervous glance. “Will this be a problem, sir?”
“No.”

When the photographer's assistant dimmed the ambient light of Crocodile's office to a softly flickering orange, Shivs felt the shift in mood. Of the office space, yes. But also her own, and Crocodile’s. The fact that there were nearly a dozen strangers fussing about them didn’t kill it as much as you'd think.
They'd just changed into the lingerie they were meant to model and were undergoing the fussy attention of the two resident make up artists. It was a nice set, though privately Shivs thought, not quite their style.
Shivs wore a just below hip length tube dress of sheer dark fabric that reminded her of stockings. It had a strip of opaque black silk that went around her pubes and breast only. The effect was interesting, she supposed. Crocodile wore matching boxer briefs made of the same sheer material, with thin opaque strips circling around his hips. However, the patch of cloth meant to obscure his business did not quite do its job as intended. And the fact that it had a subtle black zipper down the middle that appeared to go all the way around seemed like a hazard to her. But, Stefano - the Sphinxx designer who had envisioned these - was not one to argue fashion with, they’d already discovered.
Fortunately, she’d managed to keep Crocodile from blowing the whole thing off at the first confrontation. He sat smoking at his desk now, blowing out smoke and creating personal thunderclouds around his head as one of the make up artists fussed with him. Could be have been far worse. She’d count this a win.
Cussing, Shivs fumbled with the small clap of her necklace behind her neck.
“Turn around, doll,” Crocodile said.
She glanced up to find him beside her, and wondered if he’d used his abilities because the poor make up artist was staring in their direction like a particularly dimwitted calf. Or perhaps he’d simply been rude.
“Thanks,” she said as she turned, bending her neck as she felt his touch against it. It should be illegal that he could unclip those with one hand while she barely managed half the time with two.
“No, no! Absolutely not!” Stefano exclaimed as he came towards them, all hand gestures.
Shivs could tell from the way Crocodile’s touch abruptly stilled that the fashion designer better follow up with a good reason fast.
“Keep the jewellery, it is classy, distinguished,” Stefano said. “This is art.”
Shivs relaxed when she felt the weight of his hand shift against her neck, idly palming the tension from the muslces there. Good save, she thought.
“Ready when you are, Stef,” the photographer said as she tossed her cigarette bud into the nearest ash tray.
Stefano clapped his hands. “Let’s do this.”
An assistant hurried towards them with the ashtray for Crocodile to discard his smoke, but Stefano waved them away. “It adds character, atmosphere.”
And just as well, for it was only half way gone, and it was never a good time to make him stop.
Stefano motioned them towards the desk, though with far more grace this time. “Poses, if you please.”
“C’mon big guy,” Shivs said as she took the curve of his hook and tugged him up from his seat. He rose with due reluctance through a cloud of smoke.
🐊 🐊 🐊
“They are magnificent!”
Stefano’s breathless exclamation at seeing the dozing bananawani on the rear deck of the casino was especially satisfying. The rest of his crew hung back, exchanging uncertain glances.
“They won’t do anything,” Crocodile rumbled around his cigar. He caught the designer’s gaze. “Unless I tell them to.”
“Haha, noted,” Stefano said with a small laugh soaked in anxiety.
Shivs slid her hand into Crocodile’s as they watched him harry his terrified crew into setting up. “You’re so mean.”
He glanced down at her, then at the busybodies. “Think they'll miss us for six minutes?” he rumbled as he blew out smoke.
“Only six?” she muttered into the skin of his bicep, pressing a kiss against it.
“Hrm.”
There was a note of amusment under the grumpy noise though, and she was glad his mood had shifted for the better again.
“Oh, that is small,” Shivs chortled when they were shown what they’d be wearing this time. Both were unnecessarily complicated looking contraptions of thin black cord holding in place the most minimal bits of cloth necessary to pretend at decency. She cast a cheeky look up at Crocodile. "Can that even contain you?"
Turned out, it couldn’t.
The elastic had been too weak to keep his junk from doing exactly as it pleased, and she was fairly certain she’d cherish the visual of all of it ignoring the thong’s confines for a good long while. In the end, the poor tailor had to thread iron wire through the main cords. Once that was done, they tried again.
“Over here,” Stefano said as he directed them towards the corner of the deck with an unobstructed view of the oasis around Rain Dinners. From this angle, the rest of Rainbase city wasn’t visible and you could fancy yourself in the middle of the Alabaste desert.
“Would it be possible for one of them to be, well, closer?” he asked, his tone carefully polite.
Crocodile audibly patted his naked thigh and made the clack-clack sound from around his cigar that was usually the only warning some unfortunate soul got. Instantly, one of the massive creatures uncoiled from its nap and lumbered towards them, the deck shaking under its heavy steps.
Shivs rubbed the bananawani’s giant snout. “Hello handsome, you’re gonna be a supermodel too?” she cooed at it as the enormous beast settled down around them.
“P-perfect!” Stefano said, seeming equal measures excited and terrified. “Jace, framing?”
The photographer took aim, motioning them this way and that way before she raised a thumbs up. “Good shot. Got both the desert and the animal framing them.”
Shivs leaned against Crocodile’s thigh, a hand on his broad chest as she looked up at him. He reached around her, resting the curve of his hook against the small of her back.
“Turn a little to the camera, darling, just a little,” Jace said. “Yes, perfect. Hold that position.”
Ever so subtly, Shivs pressed up against his hip, a wave of languid pleasure rolling up her spine as if a quiet beach. The small huff that escaped her drew his attention immediately, his hooded gaze snapping unto hers.
“Let’s have a different one. Glass!" Stefano said as he gestured at one of his assistants, who immediately came over to them with a crystal tumbler. "Something sweet, I think. Hold it up as if you're sharing it."
"What was that, doll?" Crocodile rumbled under his breath as he held the tumbler between them, leaning in as if about to drink from it. His gaze snared hers. Every stealthy push of her pussy against his muscular thigh lit a spark of pleasure that threatened to catch fire in her core. The curve of his hook pressed against her lower back as her quiet pants clouded the glass. "You going to cum on my thigh with all of them watching?"
“Oh, perfect!” Stefano exclaimed, oblivious. “Please hold those expressions!”
“Don’t think he’ll be happy if I climb on your cock instead,” she whispered above the glass. "Though I am dying to."
She heard it as much as she felt it - the twack of snapping fabric and the sudden shift of his balls spilling against her thigh as his cock broke containment, erect for all to see.
“Oh-hoh!” Shivs chortled, leaning back as Crocodile cussed, sloshing the drink. He removed his arm from around her but his hook snagged on one of the uncountable bands of the delicate contraption she wore. It snapped and the whole thing came undone around her with a sigh of fabric that would have been satisfying if it had been intentional.
“Oh, dear!” Stefano, his voice pitching up two octaves as the tailor and his assistants rushed in to fix things. The photographer put away her camera and went for a smoke break.
Shivs struggled not to laugh at the tailor’s awkwardly cautious manner while Crocodile glared down at him. “That is never going to fit back in there.”
Stefano gave her a look more panicked than when Crocodile had threatened shutting all of this down. “What are we going to do?!”
Shivs shifted as the tailor’s assistant helped her into a bathrobe. “Well, Stefano,” she said with a waggle of her eyebrows. “I know what to do about that.”
He stared at her for a long moment.
Then clapped his hands.
“You heard the lady, everyone out! Out!”
“Soooo,” Shivs said when everyone was gone, running her hand up his hard shaft. “What are we going to do about this?”
Crocodile reached for the back of her head and drew her to him for a kiss. She responded greedily and he drank her eagerness in as the gluttonous creature within him stirred from sleep.
“If you put your pretty pussy around it, you're not coming off any time soon,” he rumbled against her lips when they parted.
"Tempting as that sounds, I suppose we can't."
He was rock hard as she fitted her palms around him, just below the head, and pulled down with short, firm tugs that drew rapidly louder grunts from him. Holding on to his hip, she straddled his thigh again and rode against him with a languid roll of her hips that send sparks of pleasure up her spine as she jerked him off.
When he reached down to rub her clit, she almost immediately lost it, so wound up the whole affair had left her.
"Cum. For me. Doll," he grunted near her ear, his breath hot bursts against the side of her neck.
She whined pitifully as a short, intense orgasm cut through her so sharp and clear that it brought tears to her eyes. Trembling against him as she clenched around his thigh, savouring the sweet after pleasure. When she recovered, his large cock throbbed in her grip, precum leaking down his shaft and running between her fingers.
“I need those pretty thighs of yours, sweetheart.”
“I need you inside me,” she complained as he dislodged her from his thigh. She reached for his neck, tried to drag him on top of her as she spread her legs. The reverberating groan that drew from him did things to her.
“No -ngh- honey.” He struggled to turn her around as she squirmed underneath him. He was this close to shoving his cock into her soaking pussy and fuck them both into a stupor.
Instead, he pulled her up unto her knees and then feet. He leaned unto his hand, dragging her up against him. The angle was awkward, but no matter. He hooked her thighs together, his cock straining between their soft, hot skin. He groaned as he pressed along her slick pussy.
She complained, fingers curling into fists on the wooden boards as she bucked back into his thrusts, his breath hot along her back.
“You wanted the damn photoshoot,” he grunted, picking up his pace.
“I want y-you,” she whined, and he had to force his hook around her waist to keep her from tilting her hips trying to get his cock inside her.
If that happened, he wouldn't be able to stop.
He threw his weight around and leaned on his hook instead, so he could reach his hadn between her thighs.
“I know, doll,” he grunted as he rubbed two fingers roughly against her clit, drinking in the way her whines pitched into moans.
“I will - hrng- fuck you. So good. Later.”
“Oh-ah!” She cried out as a second orgasm rushed through her like an oncoming wave and he pounded himself through it with quick, hard thrusts between her trembling thighs. They squeezed around his shaft as he came with a low, drawn out groan that made the bananawani look up. She felt its timbre against her back as he dumped his load on the boards beneath them with a noise that made her bite her lip as she caught his gaze across her shoulder.
By the time the Sphinxxx crew dared approach, they’d settled beside the snoozing bananawani enjoying that glass of brandy and a smoke. It had hardly been enough, but his dick had gone soft and it took the edge off. That’d have to be enough.
“Shit,” Shivs said when she noticed the incriminatingly bar-shaped bruises streaking her left hip.
“Not to worry,” Stefano said quickly. “We can retouch that away.”
“I like it,” Crocodile rumbled against her ear as his fingertips traced her hip.
Shivs stretched against him, nestling into his hold as she sipped the brandy.
“Bet you do,” she said against the glass.
🐊 🐊 🐊
“Ohhh, it has a little tail! I love that!” Shivs exclaimed when Crocodile had turned around to go where Stefano pointed them.
The last set of nightwear the Sphinxxx designer had brought for them to model was distinctly seasonal. And though not usually one for these kinds of things, Shivs had to admit she didn’t hate it. Predictably, she was wearing a Mrs Santa ensemble that comprised a very short red velvet skirt edged in genuine white fur that felt sinful soft against her skin. It came paired with an impressively v-necked hooded crop top in the same style. She’d opted for stockings and red heels to go with it, because it felt half-finished without them. Stefano had been thrilled.
However, instead of matching Crocodile with a Santa-inspired outfit, they’d actually gone for a reindeer. A very big, very hunky reindeer.
The outfit comprised a short sleeved top that barely reached to his midrif and struggled to contain his pects, and boxer briefs with cut outs at the thighs that only just managed to contain him. The whole affair was a seasonal chocolate brown, except for the smudge of white on the chest, thighs and butt. It had taken some convincing to get him to wear it. Nevermind, the antlered headband. But that, and the boxer brief’s little reindeer tail delivered the whole thing to grace.
No, she definitely didn’t hate it.
They had returned inside, to Rain Dinners' primary casino floor, which had already been decorated the previous weekend for the upcoming season. Stefano had been conflicted about where they’d do the shoot - by the oiled wood and polished brass of the Grand Café bar, or at the colonnade with the nightlights of Rainbase through the window wall? Shivs had casually suggested they could do the shoot at her table, and he’d loved that.
“No, no, lay down flat. Pretend it's grass and this is summer - yes,” Stefano said as Shivs laid down on her stomach on the poker table, leaning on her elbows with her hands under her chin and idly kicking up her feet.
“Good, perfect!” His tone was as cheerful as the decor as he handed her the poker cards. “Hold ‘em like you mean it, darling.”
“Devil’s in the details.” Shivs winked as she tossed the third card back to him, then put down the right amount of community cards as well. “That’s a little too much.”
“That’s not what you said last night,” Crocodile rumbled not even pretending to lower his voice as he leaned over her as instructed.
That drew awkward looks from everyone, and a chortle from her that settled pleasantly in the pit of his stomach as he leaned unto his hand and pretended to be interested in the cards instead of the feel of her damp cunt against his cock. The moist spot discolouring her panties under the short skirt hadn’t lied.
“No, not quite,” Stefano rubbed his chin, then snapped his fingers. “Indicate one of the cards.”
“Well, that’s a solid tell,” Shivs said with a snort.
“Art, art! This is art, not an actual game,” Stefano protested. “Go on, please.”
Crocodile shifted his weight unto his hand, indicating one of the two cards Shivs held with the tip of his hook.
“A little nearer - perfect!”
He leaned in closer as the camera clicked, pressing his cock against her firm butt. “You look like a seasonal treat good enough to eat, doll,” he grunted under his breath.
Shivs arched her back with a little noise, spreading her thighs more to accommodate him. She glanced away from the cards to catch his gaze from the corner of her eye. “Don’t tempt me to take you up on that, Blitzen.”
The rumble at the back of his throat as she felt his cock stiffen against her made her smile at the cards.
When they rounded up the last shot, Stefano came towards them positively aglow. “This was wonderful,” he said in a near reverent tone. “Stunning. Perfect.”
Crocodile lit a cigar, letting the praise shower him. Shivs suspected it smoothed his rankled humours from earlier today.
“Let me gift you any one of these,” the Sphinxxx designer added. “It would be my honour.”
“These ones,” Shivs said immediately. It was the little tail, truly.
Crocodile glanced down at her through a cloud of smoke. Amusement tugged his lips around his cigar.
“What she said.”
🐊 🐊 🐊
“That what you want, doll?” Crocodile said as he ran his hand up her side and under the top’s red velvet to palm her breast.
“Yes. It will turn out to be the best picture,” Shivs said as she laid down on her stomach and leaned on her elbows, hands under her chin. They were in their bedroom, facing the floor length mirrors opposite the curving window wall, wearing the seasonal set that she’d claimed for them. A cheeky glance at him from across her shoulder. “And I want to see it already.”
“You do look good, doll.” He pushed the short skirt up, fingers running through the soft fur edge and against her warm skin. He palmed her firm butt, pulling the cheeks apart. Her crimson panties were soaked, just as they’d been during the photo shoot.
“My own seasonal treat,” he said as he leaned down to kiss her shoulder, sliding fingers under her panties and between her wet folds. Her little huff when he pushed two into her slick cunt made his cock throb for its tight embrace. “I wanted to rail you every time your pretty pussy pressed against me.”
“Wish you had,” Shivs said as she arched into his touch, pressed her hips into his palm as his fingers drew sparks of pleasure from her core with their every move. She spread her legs further, wanting him against her the way he’d been during the photo shoot. “Wani, please. Need to feel you against me, on top of me. Like that. Again.”
She whined when he withdrew his fingers, and moaned when she felt his hips and weight settle against her instead. Their gazes crossed in the mirror.
“That what you’d do, doll?” he asked as he leaned over her, all but cheek to cheek as he dry humped against her butt, making her feel his erection. “Come to the stable at night and let all the good reindeer stuff your tight, needy hole like a little slut?”
“I only know a bad one,” she replied with half a moan. “But his cock is the best one.”
“Is that so?” he grunted as he pulled the boxer brief’s crotch out of the way and pushed his hard shaft along her clothed cunt and groaned at how wet the thin fabric of her panties felt.
“He always fucks me good and proper,” she said between huffs of need, pressing back against him to feel more. “I love how his thick dick spreads me open, fills me so fucking good.”
“Like this?” He pulled the soaked fabric aside and shoved his hard cock into her in one smooth thrust, the slick noise of her soaking cunt drawing him in incriminatingly loud in the quiet bedroom.
Her moan broke and set fire to the desire that had been smoldering in his loins.
“Oh, yess!” she whined when she felt him bottom out, stretching her so deliciously around him. The tip boldly pushed against her back walls, wanting to go further still. She cramped around him when he stayed put, pushed back against his hips. “F-fuck me.”
He watched her squirm and claw at their bedsheets. Felt her squeeze so tightly around his shaft it made him clench his teeth. He leaned close against her, his breath hot against the back of her neck. “What’s that, doll?”
“F-fuck - ngh- me, damnit,” she cursed as she pushed back against him, desperate for friction, any friction. “Make me f-feel your thick cock. You filthy beast.”
“Beast?” he rumbled with a firm thrust that wrested a groan from him as he blunted against the back wall of her tight hole.
“A-ah! Yes!” she whined half muffled into a fistfull of sheets. “More. Damnit.”
“More?” he grunted into her ear as he locked his hand around her shoulder and his hook behind the far edge of their bed. He wanted, no, needed, to hear her scream for him.
“Ye-ah! Yes!” She’d all but buried her face in their bedsheets, fingers clenching around the pale silk.
“Didn’t my little honey want to see?” he said as he struggled to control himself, hold back from recklessly thrusting into her wet, cramping pussy a moment longer. He pushed her chin up with his index finger as he started pounding his cock into her with thrusts that shook her whole frame. Thrusts whose wet slaps filled their bedroom as the slick noises of her soaking pussy eagerly taking him made him hungry for more. Much more.
“Look up, doll.”
The horny greed in her gaze when they met in the mirror made him groan as his cock throbbed. She was perfect, and his. She fed the ravenous beast within him the way no one else did. No one else could. Not any more. Not ever.
“Scream -ngh - for me, honey,” he grunted as he strained into his pushes, groaning as he forcefully pulled himself up by his hook with long, deep thrusts that damn near made him see stars. She screamed for him then as she watched him wreck her, shattering her cries with his thrusts. And when she started cramping around him, his low cries joined hers as he spilled his load deep in her tight cunt.
Feeling his arm give way under him, he turned to fall on his side into the rumped sheets beside her, drawing her with him as he rode out his orgasm with languid thrusts. She turned her head up and they kissed as he reached under her top again. She made a delightfully hazy noise against his lips when he stroke her hard nipple.
The timid knock at the doorpost drew an irritated grunt from him that made her want to fuck him again.
It was Anthony, his gaze fixed firmly on the ceiling. He was holding something, a magazine by the look of it.
“What.” Crocodile grunted.
“The draft print came in, sir,” Anthony said as he held out the magazine, gaze never straying. “They will hit the shelves tomorrow, I was told. Unless, of course, you object.”
“Oh!” Shivs was up and rising so fast that he groaned when his cock slid from her tight pussy. He rolled unto his back and watched his cum leak down her thighs as she grabbed his dress shirt and shrugged it on while trotting to his secretary. He reached for the night stand without bothering to get up, flipping a cigar from the box laying atop of it.
“Thank you, Tony,” Shivs said as she accepted the magazine from him.
“No problem, ma’am,” Anthony said without meeting her gaze, keeping it diligently up. “If there is nothing else?”
“Absolutely nill,” Crocodile said as he sat up and lit the cigar, and his secretary quickly made himself scarce.
“Look what they put on the cover,” Shivs said, clearly delighted, as she came towards him, proudly showing that seasonal shot she’d loved so well she’d made him wreck her like that not five minutes ago.
“Seems you got your wish,” he huffed through a puff of smoke as he reached out to her with hook and hand.
She chortled as she took hold of his hook and let him draw her into his lap. “This sensationalist line they added about seasonal fun at the casino makes it sound like we got a whole something here for select guests, haha.”
“No, no other reindeer,” he grumbled, making her laugh.
“Don’t you worry,” she said as she sat up to press a kiss against his lips, hand stroking across his lower stomach. “None could hope to compare.”
The molified noise he made in response made her smile as she curled up against him with the magazine. “It looks so pretty,” she said as she ran her fingers across the full colour pages.
“That’s because you’re in it,” he said as he looked at them from above her shoulder. The article was a little ways into the middle of the fashion magazine. Eleven pages of quality photographs and there wasn’t a single one they didn’t like. It was only when she paged back to the front that they noticed the envelope taped into the inner cover.
There was a note in it emblazoned with the Sphinxx calligraphy, and a stack of photographs.
‘It was a delight and honour to work with the both of you. These did not make the cut, but I dare say I’d be in trouble if I did away with them, wouldn’t I?
Con affetto, Masotti Stefano.'
The delight with which she went through the additional pictures made the creature coil inside him with a purr.
“Oh, but these came out nice too?” Shivs said as she held one up.
It looked like a candid shot as they walked to their intended spot during the shoot in his office. He’d just taken a draw from his cigar, a fond glance shrouded in smoke as she tugged him along by his hook, glancing over her shoulder with a smile as radiant as the desert sun.
Crocodile plucked it from her fingers. “This one will sit in my office.”
“I want a bigger print of this one,” she said as she shielded another one from view. He tugged at her shoulder with his hook to see. It was one from the second location, outside, with the bananawani. On it, he sat in one of the cast iron deck chairs, the large animal and the sprawling Rainbase oasis behind him. She stood against his inner thigh, leaning into him as she held up a lighter so he could light his cigar. It was a good shot, except for the part where all of his everything was breaching containment from the frightfully complicated thong.
“I am going to hang it at my table,” she declared as she held it against her chest.
“Absolutely not!” he objected, smoke escaping him as he tried to snatch it from her.
She dodged and laughed, rolling off his lap amid a flock of scattering photographs. Then jumped up, the incriminating picture held high in hand. “Maybe that'll keep 'em piped down!”
He tangled himself out of the blasted sheets, biting down on his cigar as he gave chase.
“Get back here!”
🐊 🐊 🐊
Robin basked in the bright, sunny morning as she sauntered down Rainbase’s boulevard with her bestie, Miguella. They’d gotten the largest, fanciest lattes they could find and she had put them on Crocodile’s tab. She’d be lying if she said it didn’t taste better for it.
“We could go to All Stars or Seven Palms tonight?” Miguella said as she stirred her straw through the whipcream of her latte.
“All Stars.” Robin let the latte’s creamy texture take over her thoughts for a moment. “They’ll know to find us in Seven Palms, we go there too often.”
“They’re mad at you?”
“I am mad at them.”
Robin scowled. It was always excessively embarrassing when they did something like this, even when it was just lame old suit brands. She didn’t need to hear from everyone and their dog how good they looked, how amazing they were, and how lucky she was. She hated it here. She’d run away if she actually had anywhere else she could go without being turned in on sight.
It was strange, though, for they hadn’t even tried to curfew her the past weekend. Perhaps they felt bad and hadn’t gone through with it? That’d be a first.
As they sauntered down the boulevard, not all its souvenir and food stands had opened yet. And the lady at the corner kiosk was just dragging the ‘newly arrived’ stand outside.
And that’s where she saw it.
Rendered in glossy full-colour, proud as could be on the front of Fashion First. Them. How dare? Her on her stomach on one of the casino’s poker tables, wearing the skimpiest sexy-Santa skirt and top you could still put on a front cover without being delegated to the randy back corner of a 24/7 shop. And him, dressed up as a goddamn reindeer, leaning over her back in what couldn’t possibly be an accidental posing. They pretended to be engrossed by the cards she was holding, but Robin knew better. She could fucking tell from their stupid horny glances.
Standing there, in the sunny, quiet boulevard. She thought she might actually scream.
“Hey! Aren’t that your parents?” Miguella said, and had the gall to chortle about it.
“They are NOT my parents, and they are dead to me!” Robin screamed, and stormed off.

Adult Retrospection on Harry Potter
At five-years-old I was first exposed to Harry Potter by my godmother. I was slightly horrified by Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, total BS they changed the name thinking Americans wouldn’t understand what the philosopher’s stone is. I digress. There was something about the thing behind the turban that terrified five-year-old me. I only knew the movies until I was in middle school and high school. I got into the books a lot older than my peers as my reading level took longer to develop, I would discover in university I had dyslexia. I struggled getting into the books due to the descriptive style Rowling uses that I would get lost in therefore getting bored. It was by far easier to read than Twilight was, I never got past chapter one in that series. I recently re-read the series as an adult with aid of technology that makes reading easier for people with dyslexia, thank goodness for technology. With doing so I realized the true problems with the Harry Potter series. I vaguely remember all the issues back in the day with Christians banning and even burning the books. That never an issue I felt was apparent because children the books are meant for are aware of reality versus fantasy and if you are confident in young religious teachings that children should be able to be exposed to opposing views without being swayed away from those teachings. The problems I noticed were a problem when I was young, and it will continue to make the series more problematic with the younger generations more aware of these issues than I was as a child. The issue I have with the series stems from out-of-date unhealthy perspectives that are portrayed in the books. What are these unhealthy perspectives? I have noticed prevalent fat-shaming, acceptance of bullying. and acceptance of abuse.
Someone out there is going to question me about the fat-shaming aspect, just hear me out on this one. Yes, there are characters that are overweight and portrayed as good characters. I must mention these characters I not described directly as fat. For example, as Neville Longbottom and Molly Weasley were described as plump which equals chubby in most people’s mind. The exception is Professor Slughorn; however, he was portrayed as a bit of a coward and vain. Otherwise, the fat characters in the story are Dudley and Vernon Dursley. They are betrayed as bullies and otherwise horrible people. There was a lot of description into Dudley and Vernon’s weight, way more than was necessary. It was nice that you saw Dudley’s weight be addressed during the series, but it was also not necessary for the story, so I never understood why it was included other than to make fun of Dudley. I would have preferred to have seen a transformation where Harry realized that Dudley had changed both physically and emotionally to a better person. I was always an overweight child. I didn’t think anything about this portrayal of fat people as a kid. This wasn’t the only form of media I consumed that had this view on fat people. It was all over during the 90’s and the early 2000’s. The media we consume has a significant impact to the formation of our identity and confidence as young children. I am not saying Harry Potter is the only factor in my issues of confidence surrounding my weight. It cannot be denied that Harry Potter had an enormous impact in the lives of children during my childhood and even now. It was a problem back when I was young. It is even a bigger problem for the current generation that is at age to enjoy the series.
Bullying is a huge topic for Harry Potter. From an early age Harry was bullied by Dudley even physically assaulted by Dudley and his friends. Harry didn’t like his family. But it was clear nothing ever happened to Dudley for bullying Harry. Then there is the issue between Draco Malfoy. It kept increasing in intensity until it escalated to physical assault. Harry did face consequence for this incident, and never made that mistake again which is the only redeeming factor of this incident being in the book. This issue between Draco and Harry went both ways in the series, which is often how bullying works in real life. I do give credit for it at least being accurate in that aspect. Hogwarts appears to have zero polices regarding bullying. As it was very prevalent in the 1960’s during the time of Marauders and was still an issue in the 1990s. The set up of the four houses even encourages this behavior separating the students into cliques that have rivalries with each other that have gone on centuries. It is simply accepted as part of wizarding life. No one does anything to try to change it. That is ridiculous that centuries old rivalries still rule the wizarding world. The next aspect is directed towards bullying boy against girl versus girl against boy. Ron Weasley learned a harsh lesson in bullying Hermione when she almost accidently got killed by Troll in their first year. However, Hermione would go in their sixth year to physically assault Ron with the Oppugno spell. She was a Perfect, meaning she is supposed to be the model student. No one reported this incident. She faced no consequences. She should have at least had detention and her Perfect status should have been revoked. It doesn’t matter how much of a jerk Ron had been. There is zero tolerance for any physical assault in my moral system. Ron continued being her friend. It was as if nothing ever happened. This just helped support the old concept that if a boy bullies a girl, he should be punished severely but if a girl does the same, he must have done something to deserve it. What does this instruct young children? Domestic abuse against men is an issue that still swept under the rug in society. Boys and men cannot possibly be abused by the women in their lives. Men just like women die in domestic abuse situations. The fact that a children’s book indirectly supports that old fashion ideology bothers me deeply. This double standard will continue to exist as long as media, TV or printed, continues to support it.
The acceptance of abuse in the series is also rather alarming. Harry was at the never least neglected, but frankly the treatment he received by his family was abuse. It is important to note that the UK was behind the rest of the world when it came to protecting children against abuse. There were no laws for child abuse until 1981. However, Harry went to public schools as a child. Why didn’t anyone realize what was happening and report it? I’m not completely sure how well reported child abuse was in the UK during the 80s and 90s. Corporal punishment was allowed in schools in 1986. However, it was mentioned that at Dudley’s school the students would use canes on each other, and the staff did nothing. When Aunt Marge visited, she asked Harry if they used canes at the school Petunia and Vernon made up that Harry went to, and he said they did every day. This was of course a law, but this made Marge happy to hear. In 1995-1996, Dolores Umbridge used Black Quill, which inflicted physical pain and semi-permanent mark, on students. It was highly illegal, but it still happened in the series, and no one could do much about it. I cannot end this section without mentioning Severus Snape’s treatment of Harry. He harassed a child for the actions of their father. What he did equates to emotional abuse. Professors were aware of his bias towards Slytherin students, and that Harry had conflicts with Snape. No one did anything about it or question Harry about why he disliked the Potions Professor so much. Harry does forgive Snape for his behavior. But that doesn’t make it any better. In fact, it encourages a concept that victims should forgive their abusers as Harry would have felt pressured to forgive him because of the circumstance Snape was in when he apologized. No one is required to forgive their abusers. Dolores did eventually get punished for the abuse inflicted on the students. It still bothered me it was even in the story. Just because wizards have their own society that does not mean that UK’s laws don’t apply to them. They may be wizards, but they still are citizens of and reside in the UK.
I did enjoy Harry Potter in my youth, and I do not mean to take away from anyone’s childhood enjoyment of the series. But it is important that as adults we acknowledge the issues with the series as we begin to have children of which we may want to share our love of Harry Potter with. We need to be aware of the dark side of the series and what we may indirectly exposing our children to. This goes to anyone who wonders if they should allow their child to read Harry Potter. The views and portrayals of society is rapidly becoming old fashioned and by the time the children of the fans of the series become old enough to read the series may be comply inappropriate for young children. If you are having debates about the series based on religion, I feel this is a non-issue. Children are aware of fantasy versus reality. But there are aspects of the series parents should be aware of before making decision.

Day 3: First Kiss
The sound of music and dancing was the universal sign of a good time. She had come out tonight to feel normal again. Enough time had passed and yet here she was.
Talia blended into the crowd and began to sneak out of a party, purposely avoiding her friends, taking the route off the roof by using the fire escape. She frowns as tears stung her eyes as she hugs her arms softly. After a few steps she sighed leaning against  the wall taking a  seat outside of Lev’s apartment. She wanted to leave, but it was a shitty thing to leave without saying anything to Iris and Auriana. This only made the pressure of anger in her lower abdomen  knot and twist as she took a seat on the steps of  the fire escape.
What  brought on this mixture of melancholy and angry frustration? A stupid song, her ex’s favorite song, it had been a month since she and Kyle had broken up.  And some dumb song shouldn't make her feel so many emotions all once, it was like remembering something she had desperately to forget and bury yet couldn't.
Suddenly there was a click from the sliding  door opening and a surprise gaze of a young burgundy hair man holding a bowl of chips. He looked surprised to find her there.
She knew him vaguely from campus, he was in the drama department with Lev, and he noticed her  crying because his first words to her were.
"Hey… are you okay?"  He asked softly, looking at her. "You like you've been crying…"
Talia gave half a sigh mixed with a dry laugh "....Just… heard my Ex's favorite song play...I don't  know  its stupid" he took a seat across from her and gave a small smile.  "Hey, no… it's not dumb...I'm a theater kid… if there's one thing we know is a broken heart… Now unless you want to belt out a ballad of  self empowerment, Talking about it usually  helps. And who better than someone you probably won't see again" he winks at her which made her smile, the  joke helped to ease any tension or embarrassment she felt. There was something in his eyes that gave an air of kindness. She gave a nod "he was my highschool sweetheart…. " she started
The hours passed and she told him, her story,  of how she was with this guy for years and all of the sudden he just broke up with her because her college was too far away and long distance relationships don't work. They passed around the snacks till the empty bowl was all that was left. Finally when she finished Talia took a deep sigh of relief, she had no idea how long she  had kept that inside her chest. Locked up under the guise of self control and keeping up appearances that she was fine. To share it with someone felt nice, she felt heard and looked at Mephisto who had processed the whole ordeal with her.
At first he frowns "Wow…that's such a jerk move….just everything he did it sounds like he was just looking for a excuse to break up and instead of talking to you and not completely blindsiding you he just one day decided to be jerk and make up an excuse…." He said sighing deeply as he ran his fingers through his hair and looking at her with a soft gaze.  "He genuinely doesn't deserve you. When he grows up and realizes that. I hope he has enough backbone to apologize for what he's done…as for you feeling sad…. It happened a month ago. You should let yourself grieve, However you want to. It was a long  relationship, a relationship you put a lot of your heart into loving them and that doesn't just go away… It may have been for him, but that took a while and he had his time to figure his feelings. So should you. You didn't wake up one day with the thought that everything was leading up to a break up. You genuinely thought things were okay between you two and suddenly they weren't, you need time to process that. You know?"
"I…. Thank you…." She whispers and nods "that's really solid advice… and I never considered letting myself do that… I'm the tough one you know… nothing gets to me…." She sniffles a bit wiping her face with the back of her hand.
He shook his head "no one can be okay after that…it's okay to feel and recover…"
Talia made a small noise of agreement "Hey, let's get out here and enjoy the party….could I know your name?" She asked as she got up, he gave a nod and smiled getting up too. "Mephisto, it's an honor to make your acquaintance milady " he said in a dramatic manner making her laugh  "I'm Talia, thanks for hearing me out." She leans over and kisses his cheek softly, just an innocent kiss on the cheek as they headed upstairs to the party. Mephisto felt a small blush on his cheeks "aw, it's no biggie… I'd do it any time… hey do know the Coffee place on Bartley street?"
"Yeah, the book shop?"
"I hang out there, mostly to read scripts and drink coffee if you ever want to hang out?"
Talia smiles "sounds like fun"
They were unaware of it at the time but a friendship was made that night on the fire escape.
Day 4: Retro Fashion
Talia had never considered performing  in a fashion  show before but Lyna had put in so much effort into her  final project. Lyna had sat in several of Talia’s american history courses  to learn about the 1920’s. Her professors were surprised to find out the curious young lady with the lengthy notes wasn’t actually enrolled in the courses and was actually a  fashion major.
Throughout the  semester  Lyna would come over  with revised  sketches of the gowns she was making. Asking Talia for advice on accessories and accuracy. Which was more than happy to give feedback but she was  genuinely caught off guard and  flattered when Lyna asked her to model  the stunning gown inspired by the ever glamorous Josphine Baker.  “Of course” She smiles. It was a strapless  black and white ball gown decorated and accessorized with her signature pearls.
The collection  was something  her friend had worked so hard on. Talia was happy to support her.
Later that afternoon, she sat on the  counter top as Mephisto chopped vegetables for dinner.
“So are you free next Saturday afternoon?”  She asked. Mephisto glances over as he  reaches over his head  for a  bowl on the shelf. “ Yeah I  should be  done with  finals”
“Do you want to come to a fashion show?”
“Fashion show?” He smiles “ Are you modeling  for Lyna’s  Final?”
“Yeah.” She blushes a bit “ Do you think it's silly”
“ Now why would I  ever think that? I think it's gonna be awesome” He kisses her pouty cheek. “ I’m going to take so many pictures~”
“Oh my  god”
“ and Facetime Izira.”
She laughs burying her face into his shoulder blade “You are such a  dork”
“ You love it” He grins.
Day 5: Sport AU
Author’s note:  I know nothing about  sports, Zero. Nada.  My knowledge  of sports comes from sports animes and I watch them for the cute boys and nothing else. So! Instead  have   Praxina, Mephisto and Talia trying out Auriana’s  pilates’s class.
Praxina’s frown deepens as she glares at her brother “ You have  5 minutes to explain why I’m here.” Talia looked  equally exasperated at her  boyfriend who, being the only morning person of the trio grins. “ I figured finals  stressed us  out and Auriana is teaching her  first  pilates  class so let's go be good friends and get some exercise too!.” He said  with a grin as the girls gave a groan  “ You are  making us  breakfast  after this”  Praxina yawns.  “ yeah” Talia smiles softly “ you  do know  Auriana’s  classes aren’t  beginner friendly  right… She’s tough.”
Mephisto pales a bit realizing he  might have made a  mistake. ”Oh-”  They headed up to the studio  greeted warmly by the  chipper redhead who claps  her hand together. “ Alright  Class!  Lets have an awesome  warm up!”   While Talia and Praxina both being  dancers could easily  keep up with the beat and tempo  set by Auriana. Mephisto was having trouble just keeping his breathing in  check.
This was just a warm up. He was doomed. After the  class, the group  ended up in the small apartment where  Praxina  lived with her  dog  Brutus. Mephisto lays on his sister's couch his body feeling like  jelly as Brutus the  pomeranian lays on his back.  “  You should have just sat down after  the warm up”  Talia said sips  on her water. Watching him from her seat  on the love seat across  the  coffee table from him.
“No that was quitter talk, Can’t stop, won’t stop!” He said muttering into the couch cushions as  Praxina  laughs walking over picking up Brutus  “ He just hates being  wrong, I don’t know where he gets this competitive  attitude from~”  Praxina comments to Talia before she grins and leans over to his ear and says “ I’m the alpha twin, now~”  “Ahhh” His muffled groan came from the couch making the  girls laugh as they order breakfast off their phones since their  cook was down  count.  Overall the  stress of test week is long  forgotten.
Day 6+7 Gift Giving at the School Festival
Author’s  note: Roark belongs to Kireiscorner~ I asked her before borrowing him~
It was a silly  campus  tradition, past over from one  generation to the next.  On the evening of the School Festival, to  give a  gift to your  significant other before the firework’s show. Mephisto had always thought his  mother’s  story  was a little corny, but the romantic in him  had also found  it a little  sweet.
He wanders around the shopping  district, his  eyes  looking in the  different stores looking  for the  right  gift. He had his heart set on finding a pair of earrings that match her  favorite  bracelet.  “ Young man!”  A  sing-song  voice  called from a small  stall. “ You look like a  crafty  gentleman~ Would like to buy our  jewelry crafting set! Only  3 installments  of 29.99!”
Mephisto pointed to himself and gave a thought he must look  desperate by now because he was actually  walking  over. “ Hold it” A  familiar  voice  stopped him.  “ yikes man… you  weren’t actually  going to buy  kiosk  craft kits-” Lev said walking over wrapping an arm around his best friend and  shaking his head at  sales girl “ Sorry  sweetheart, not today” He winks at her as the  kiosk sale girl glares at him.
Mephisto sighs “ I’m a little desperate… I’ve been looking for a  gift for Talia all morning and I’ve come up empty... Please tell me your Father owns a discount jewelry shop?”
“Nope, my old man owns and sells engagement rings and high end jewelry… but I know a man who might be able to help”  Lev grins as they head out of the  bustling  area to a quiet shop.  It was an antique shop  designed on  restoring metal pieces.  “ Hey Roark buddy, you in?”  Lev called out as a massive man  walked out from the back.  He gave a small grunt  greeting them  with a welcome.  “ Roark buddy,  this is  Mephisto.  Mephisto, this is my  buddy  Roark.  He’s  in the robotics  department with me.   His  family owns this  shop. Bud, we are in a bit  of  a time  crunch. Do you mind if  Mephisto here looks around the  jewelry  section?”   Roark  gave a  shrug and  continued working on the counter as  Lev showed him over to the  section of the counter  where the  restored  jewelry  was found.   Mephisto’s  eyes  light up when he spotted them,  sapphire  earrings  restored from old gold.  “ How  much?!”  Roark  gave a tired  look as he got up and  fetched the  earrings  they were around 95. Mephisto  looked at everything  he had saved up.  That would leave him with 30 in pocket for anything at the  festival.  He nodded “ Okay… Could I get  wrapped in a box?  Blue please!”
Lev watched him with a small smile “ You really like this  girl, huh…”
Mephisto blushes “ Yeah… I do… I just want to make her smile.”
Lev chuckles “ It’s  nice to see you this  happy again.”  Roark came out the back, the earrings wrapped up in a  small box, tucked neatly in a paper shopping bag.  “ Thank you for your purchase,”  Roark said.  “ Thanks  Roark you’re  the  best  buddy”  Lev winks as  Roark rolled his eyes with a small grin.
Mephisto  paid and  thanked him too.
Hours passed and Mephisto couldn’t help but  enjoy  every moment he spent with Talia, this whole  year by her side had been  special to him.  He helps her over to a nice spot to watch the  fireworks where it wasn’t too crowded. “ Hey… So… It's… kind of a  corny tradition but tonight some  couples exchange  gifts… and I wanted to give you  something…” He pulled out the small box from his  jacket pocket.
“It's a thank you for being you and  sharing yourself with me.”   Talia eyes  widen and a blush  spread  all over her  face “ Thank you… but I didn’t know-”
“Yeah it's okay  you aren’t  from here so I figured you wouldn’t  exactly know the  stories… But It wouldn’t  have  felt  right to  celebrate  without telling you how I felt.”
She blushes brightly as she  kisses him “ You idiot... I  love you… Thank you… I can’t  wait to celebrate with you  next year…”  She  whispers hugging him close.
“That’s a  promise” He smiles holding her  close as the  fireworks begin.
===========The  End============
Author’s Note:  And that was  Talisto week 2020  everyone!~ As always  thanks  for your  support! It was awesome to see everyone  again~  and to  celebrate with you all - Lots of love as always, Kikki~

Date nights for the Maryam-Lalonde couple usually consisted of going out in amazingly made custom dresses and getting a seat in the fanciest restaurant they felt like going to. Dave once said it was them “showing the people of Earth C that they were the model interspecies lesbian relationship that everyone should strive for”. Rose couldn’t say that she disagreed, but she had her own reasons. She personally saw it as showing off the fact that Kanaya Maryam is one of the most amazing, beautiful, talented woman she’s ever met and everyone else had gotten the short end of the stick because Kanaya chose her of all people. So yeah, she will admit to a bit of showing off.
Those kind of dates were nice. They were able to learn new things about the world they were gifted and even get to interact with the citizens of it. Being lauded as a god was still something she felt uneasy about, but the citizens were kind enough to at least pretend to not have been staring at them the whole time.
But favourite was those where she and Kanaya decide to simply stay at home, wearing too large clothes and curling up into each other and doing whatever they felt like at that moment.
These dates never had a schedule, no rhyme or reason for happening, no plan or forethought put in it. It would just happen. Sometimes it would be a wordless decision, other times one of them would ask for it. (Rose always much more timid when she does because she knew Kanaya loved being outside and was always loathe to ask her to be cooped up in their shared home.) Either way, they would end up in each other’s arms curled up in some corner of the house doing whatever they were in the mood to do for the time.
Tonight was one such date. The pair was curled up by the hallway of their house. They had initially decided to go out and see that new restaurant that served a mix of human and Alternian food. They were dressed to the nines, make-up done flawlessly, hair done-up flattering their face. The last thing left were footwear. But for some reason, they had both just decided that that was too much effort and so had simultaneously sat on the floor and got comfortable.
Rose pulled out her phone from her dress pocket (she loves Kanaya so goddamn much she sew in fucking pockets in her dresses) and started looking for something dumb for them to watch. They settled on a dance movie, apparently Step Up will exist no matter the universe and that’s an oddly comforting thought.
The story was… Well, it was Step Up. You didn’t really watch it for any inkling of a story, you watched it because dancing was pretty and more importantly a woman dancing can cause a gay awakening in anyone. Kanaya was more focused on their fashion during the competition sections, and Rose was content to listen to her talk about it.
It was halfway through the next movie when Kanaya stood up suddenly, bringing Rose with her. She grabs her phone and tosses it away then started gently swaying their bodies to no particular tune.
Rose laughs at her wife and presses her nose to the underside of her jaw. “The hallway isn’t a particularly large space for dancing.” She moves her hands up and rests them on her shoulders. “We are also both, if you would excuse my language, absolutely fucking terrible at dancing.”
She feels Kanaya shake slightly with laughter before feeling a kiss be dropped onto the top of her head. “That is quite true. Would you consent to me doing something else then?”
Rose hums an affirmative. A kiss to her temple was all the warning she had before her wife lifted her up and spun them around twice, her legs instinctually clamping around her waist for support. Kanaya stumbled slightly and caused her to be pressed against the wall for balance. They looked at each other for a second before they burst out laughing.
Rose attempts to wrangle herself in and somehow succeeds. She cups Kanaya’s face and brings her closer for a kiss, not a very successful one seeing as she’s still smiling much too wide and Kanaya was slightly laughing but it was a kiss nonetheless. She leaned away then gently butted her forehead against Kanaya’s, a form of affection trolls considered to be almost as intimate as a kiss.
She could see the jade slowly seeping into her wife’s grey eyes from this close. She admits that it was a little odd not seeing the pure grey in the sea of gold, however she loved seeing the slow progress of color in her eyes and it made her feel like falling in love all over again.
She presses a quick kiss to her nose and gently tangles her fingers in dark hair. “Did you plan on pinning me to the wall of our quaint hallway, or was your plan derailed and you had decided to simply wing it.”
Kanaya hums noncommittally. “I will not deign that inquiry with an answer, instead I would love to propose that we enjoy this current position to the fullest.”
Rose pulls back far enough to give her a raised eyebrow. “Might I know what ‘enjoying this to the fullest’ entails?”
She is only given a wide, innocent smile in response.
Kanaya gives her a soft slow kiss. Lips moving against each other, memorizing the already familiar contours of each other. A quick swipe of her tongue, then she moved to press a kiss onto the corner of her lips. Then her cheek, jaw, the column of her throat, and finally to the juncture where her neck and shoulder meet.
Her breath stutters when she feels the brush of fangs against her skin. She melts further into her wife’s arms, angling her neck for better access. Kanaya sucks on a patch of skin, gently nibbling not quite leaving a mark just yet. “I do so love how small you are, dear.” She murmurs.
Rose pushes her face away from her neck. She quirks an eyebrow at her and she smiles slyly from behind her palm. “You are aware that isn’t quite a compliment?”
“Maybe, however it is quite nice to be able to lift you effortlessly and press you against whatever surface I desire.” She presses a kiss onto her palm. “Very titillating if you ask me.”
Rose snorts but acquiesces, removing her hand from her wife’s face to rest it on her cheek.
“Besides, I am but a weak, gangly troll. You would not wish to have me strain and suffer while attempting to seduce you would you?”
She raises her eyebrows at her, trying so very hard not to break into a wide smile. Years of allowing herself to show emotion has made her control over her expressions rusty.
“You are aware I can float. You don’t need to strain yourself, you can simply wrap your arms around me and I will do the rest.”
“But where would the emotion be?” She whines. “The feeling of my arms shifting to accommodate your weight as I hold you up, doing my best not to tremble as you would, no doubt, try to turn me into a whining mess. The upper hand I would have in pressing you further into the wall to allow myself to let one arm go and rake my nails all over you. The allure of flexing muscle as your legs tighten around my waist to avoid falling and my arms tightening their hold on you.”
Rose couldn’t help it, she burst out laughing. Her wife glares at her but there’s no heat beneath it, just a fondness they would never be rid of.
She feels her start to playfully nip at her neck and she laughs even more. A slight increase in pressure at just the right area has her choking on her laughter then sighing happily.
Kanaya presses a languid kiss to her lips and lets her lips hover over hers. “Do you see the appeal?”
She takes half a moment before answering. “Not yet,” she pulls her closer to her body. “I think I need a demonstration.”
That was all Kanaya needed to hear.
In the end, Rose does see the appeal. Although a repeat performance might be needed for a better opinion.

Alright, these are the questions I wanted to ask the most: 7) When is your preferred time to write? 8) Where do you take your inspiration from? 45) What spurs you on during the writing process? 48) What is your favorite trope to write about? -- Love you so much for all your support 😘💕💕💕
💗💗💗 omg #8 got a little too long.  I just couldn’t stop with how deeply important it is to me.  Like, I’m sorry it’s an essay, but please read the whole thing if you have the time. 😘😘
7) When is your preferred time to write?
Whenever I have bubble tea in my system!  Although I think night time might be my most productive time strictly in terms of creativity.
8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
I might read something and think, hm that wasn’t enough for me.  I want more!  Or I think, what would this be like if it was NaruHina?  Movies, folktales, fairytales, other fanfics, fanart, prompts, my own life or others’ stories!  I basically put NaruHina in every romantic situation possible, and some ideas develop really promisingly into viable stories.  Only two of my ideas are “original” in that they solely started off with a wondering “what if...” question - It’s No Secret and Undercover.
And as I told you before!  ❤️❤️ You, @mmmbuttery, and agitosgirl inspired me to write my own fics!! ❤️❤️
How you unapologetically leaned into Japanese culture when no other fic writer seemed to know anything basic about Japan in their canon-divergent fics (like some fic writers got them walking around in his apartment with their shoes on AHHHHHHHHH😱😱).  I thought how great it was to not feel like Naruto and Hinata were white people when I read your stories, and I felt like your fics were so much more relatable.
I thought if I’m spending my free time reading stories of my own choice, I am not about to read stories that have a Hinata who’s never had ramen before!  But I couldn’t find any other stories quite like yours and emmykay’s, and at this time, both of you weren’t writing anymore...basically I needed that representation.
So THANK YOU for doing what you did and what you still do, I have appreciated it SO MUCH 🙌🏼.  Just thinking about representation in English YA fiction and literature, like did I mention I watched Crazy Rich Asians at least 4 times in theatres and read the whole series?  Fanfiction is so important to me in this aspect.  It’s free!  And the characters can be Asian, in love, and just be themselves.  (yes there’s jdramas, kdramas, manga, anime, and translated literature, and I love those things, too, but I want all the things.)
And how agitosgirl would just drop stories and start new ones without warning or caring lol.  Her catchphrase as she leaves you forever dangling on a cliffhanger: A/N: There you have it!  or There you guys go.  Just a little bit of something for you.  The role model of role models in IDGAF.  Yeah, I thought, I can do that too.  I can handle that level of no expectations for myself to finish my stories.  At first, as a reader, I was annoyed, and then I started to find her breezy attitude really very admirable.
So many authors would write end notes about forcing themselves to finish writing a story, or completely losing interest in writing because readers were nagging them, and I always thought that was really sad.  I wondered: Why couldn’t they just do what agitosgirl did?  Why couldn’t they just do whatever they want?  Why on earth do they let their readers’ excitement become an unwelcome pressure?  I thought, well, if I write my own fanfics, I’m going to do my best to be like agitosgirl.  Write seriously whatever topic I want for however long I want, and readers can choose to read or not to read.
She would write the most frowned-upon tropes and have zero shame about it.  She never, not once, apologized for what and how she wrote.  I really got the feeling that she was writing for her own enjoyment.  And in return, as a reader, I felt no shame in enjoying her work.  As a fic writer now, I’m still trying to be like her!
So I’ll end it there, really the inspiration is endless and I could credit every content creator out there.
45) What spurs you on during the writing process?
I guess it’s usually a certain scene I’m looking forward to a lot.  That’s what makes smut and flirty fluff stories so easy to write!  They’re full of fun scenes I want to see.
48) What is your favorite trope to write about?
Three of my longer ones, Nightdreams, It’s No Secret, and Catskin are all secret relationship tropes.  I also have 5 high school aus 🤭  I guess secret young love somehow became my favourite thing!
Love you bunny 💓💓

Anya Taylor-Joy Infiltrates the Boys’ Club of Chess in The Queen’s Gambit
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Netflix’s period piece miniseries The Queen’s Gambit spans a decade in the life of fictional chess prodigy Beth Harmon (Anya Taylor-Joy), a wunderkind whose natural aptitude for anticipating her opponents’ moves is blunted by her addiction to the tranquilizer pills with which she credits her wins. Following gawky teenage Beth through her early tournaments in the 1950s to the aloof redheaded beauty wowing spectators in Europe in the ’60s—and leaving a trail of defeated men in her wake—the seven-hour series was faced with the challenge of making every chess scene equally thrilling to enthusiasts and non-fans alike.
The key, Taylor-Joy explains to Den of Geek, was in having every single game be recognizably unique. “[Series creator and director] Scott [Frank] and I would have a lot of conversations about both the chess and the addiction scenes, and how we were going to make each of them different and each of them fresh,” she says. “Because this show is seven and a half hours, and if a lot of that is the same chess game, people are gonna wander off.”
The cast and crew imbued each chess match with specific emotion, matching Beth’s personal and professional growth, and unique physicality. For the latter, that involved bringing in chess consultant Bruce Pandolfini (who also consulted on Walter Tevis’ 1983 novel on which the series is based) and grandmaster Garry Kasparov to plan out the series’ many games down to every gambit and checkmate. Because neither Taylor-Joy nor her on-screen competitors had played much chess prior to shooting, treating the gameplay as choreography helped them pick up the moves.
“I saw the whole thing as a dance,” explains Taylor-Joy, a former ballet dancer. “I saw learning the choreography as dance, but just with your fingers.”
Costar Harry Melling, who plays one of Beth’s early rivals Harry Beltik, agrees that the authenticity was found in the tactile movements of the pieces themselves.
“One of the most important things in terms of the choreography was the feel of the pieces,” he says, “about how you take pieces—whether you slide it across the board or whether you lift it up or put it down. All of these little details [are] what makes it look like you’ve been doing it your entire life.”
“It’s like riding a horse,” says Thomas Brodie-Sangster, whose chess champion Benny Watts is known for a distinctive leather duster and laconic attitude. “It doesn’t really matter if you can ride a horse, it’s more about if you can get on the horse and get off the horse and look cool doing it. That’s what people pick up on; it shows that you actually look comfortable doing it.”
While Beltik and Benny are as fictional as Beth, the actors were encouraged to draw inspiration from current and historical grandmasters on which to base their characters’ games. “Every game in the show is based on a real game,” Brodie-Sangster says. “If you’ve got a really keen eye, you can probably recognize games from across the history of chess.” He modeled Benny’s moves after Bobby Fischer, while Melling devoted a lot of time to watching current World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen play.
“That was really fascinating,” Melling says, “because I knew nothing about chess whatsoever—so [I was] starting from ground zero, really, working out how these people operate, what makes them tick.”
Equally important as the dance steps were the dance partners. Taylor-Joy credits the originality of each sequence to who Beth is playing at that moment in time—like Townes (Jacob Fortune-Lloyd), a hunky competitor who flusters young Beth. “The first time that Beth plays Townes, it’s the first time that she’s ever liked somebody that she’s playing opposite against,” she says, “so she wants to win, but she doesn’t necessarily enjoy seeing him crumble, which is a new experience for her.”
Taylor-Joy soon found the game as dramatic as Beth does. “For her, it is life or death,” she says. “This is her intellect being challenged, and her intellect is the only thing she has any faith in. So I definitely felt the pressure, and then—whenever she’s playing with somebody—the power high of that.”
It’s no surprise that Beth gets a power high from defeating her male opponents, as it is a very insular boys’ club into which she enters as a dowdily-dressed teenager in the ’50s. For her first match with Beltik at the Kentucky Chess Championship, Melling says, the former is very much in his element, “and then she sort of enters his sphere, and he becomes completely in awe of her talent, and he knows that she’s a better player than him. His bubble gets burst very quick.”
Though Benny saunters into their first match together, Brodie-Sangster acknowledges that there is also an immediate spark with Beth. “Her presence is a bit of a surprise, and a bit of an enigma for him,” he says. “She is very much in a man’s world and doesn’t really look like she really fits in there; neither does he, and I think there’s a kind of connection there.”
Beth grows up in the world of chess, both as an aspiring grandmaster and as a young woman. Taylor-Joy had a blast playing so many different versions of Beth, though she laughs recalling how Frank initially asked her how young she thought she could play. Fourteen or fifteen was her answer—“eight, you’re gonna have to get another actor to do that one”—and so she portrays Beth from her inelegant teenage years through to her mid-twenties.
Over the course of the series, we witness Beths who are alternately brilliant and awkward, shy and sexy, on top of the world and extremely vulnerable. “Because [the show] takes its time and because you do grow with her, you as an audience are allowed insight into why she is the way she is,” Taylor-Joy says. “You see the things that shape her, and you see her grow from it, and you understand why she’s grown in that direction.”
To move between those many phases, she would devise her own backstories for the different Beths: “She starts off walking very clumsily and awkwardly and almost side-to-side, and then I was like, ‘Oh, and this is the first time she’s ever seen an Audrey Hepburn movie’ and she starts wearing the black pants and the turtleneck and starts standing differently, if a boy’s around. And just trying on different personalities, as I think we all do, especially in that age range, and probably into our adult life. It was really fun.”
In contrast to her male opponents and love interests who inhabit the same sphere, the two key women in Beth’s life exist almost entirely outside of the chess world. Fellow orphan Jolene (Moses Ingram) shows her the ropes at the orphanage, much like an older sister, but resentment stretches between them when Beth is adopted and Jolene is left behind.
“It’s all in how they’ve grown up with each other and gotten to know each other,” says the theatrically trained Ingram of her first on-screen role and the difficult emotional history between Beth and Jolene. “I think people that truly love one another certainly get the very best, but also the very worst, of each other. When you can see someone that deeply, you can’t help but be locked in to one another.”
Complicating their relationship is the fact that preteen Jolene is the one who introduces eight-year-old Beth to the tranquilizer pills to which she immediately becomes addicted. “Jolene was just teaching her how to cope in the only way that Jolene has learned how to cope,” Ingram explains, but that simple act irrevocably shapes Beth’s approach to chess for the next decade. Initially used to “even out” the orphans’ disposition (and then later banned for their habit-forming tendencies), the pills help Beth envision a chessboard in the shadows of her bedroom ceiling at night. Taylor-Joy says she would track Beth’s mental and emotional state not just by the different matches, but by how the ghostly chess pieces appear to her: “Sometimes they’re familiar, sometimes they’re very threatening, it all very much depends on where she’s at.”
Unfortunately, where Beth is often at is relying too much on the pills to help her focus during chess games, believing herself unable to triumph when not in her altered state. Her dilemma is complicated by the fact that the tranquilizer pills come back into her life care of her adoptive mother Alma Wheatley (Marielle Heller), who initially comes off as a stereotypical ’50s housewife who can’t function without “Mother’s Little Helper.” (Though the pills go by the fictional name Xanzolam in the series, they seem to be a cousin of Azolam and other benzodiazepines.)
In the past four years, Heller has been best known behind the camera, as the director of such celebrated films as The Diary of a Teenage Girl (for which she also wrote the screenplay), Can You Ever Forgive Me?, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, and What the Constitution Means to Me. While Heller had always referenced her history as an actor as “part of my superpower as a director,” she says that she began to feel like “a fraud” when directing stars like Tom Hanks or Matthew Rhys. “I started to feel like, ‘Do I even remember what that feels like, to be an actor, to be asked to do these things, to be asked to go into these certain emotional places?’”
So when Frank, a long-time friend, invited her to join the series and spend a few months shooting in Berlin, Heller saw it as the perfect opportunity to, in her words, “keep my street cred as a director who was an actor.” As a director who seeks out projects about the uncomfortable things that people don’t talk about, Heller found that Alma embodied those same sensibilities: “She’s someone who has a lot of pain in her past, and that makes her most interesting; she’s not some version of a ’50s housewife that doesn’t feel real. So much of what I try to do as a director is to tap into that thing that has made somebody the way they are.”
Despite mother and daughter’s initial friction, as Beth carves out her niche in the chess world, and Alma begins accompanying her on her more glamorous tournaments, the older woman is inspired to revisit her own long-abandoned dreams of devoting her life to a creative pursuit. “For Alma,” Heller says, “she had this dream deferred. She was somebody who wanted to be a pianist and artist and never could, and that’s a pain that I feel is very human, and I totally connected to.”
What’s remarkable about The Queen’s Gambit is that each of its female characters experiences a different and specific struggle for the time period. “Scott did that really beautifully,” Ingram says of playing adult Jolene, advocating for change during the Civil Rights movement while Beth is moving up through the ranks of the chess world. “He didn’t let us forget what point in time we were in the world—we’re in the ’60s, in the smack-dab [middle] of civil unrest, because people aren’t being treated fairly. And I loved that Jolene is out front and being a crusader, being a champion for change, when very clearly all she’s known is white people her whole life. So it was beautiful to see that she’s found herself later, in changing the world—trying to, at least.”
In that endeavor, Jolene describes herself as a radical, though Ingram also feels that the word was a fitting theme for the series overall.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
“I think it’s radical that Beth, as a woman, is this far into the chess world at this point in time,” she says. “It’s unheard of that she’s there, and everyone’s shocked by it. It’s definitely a story of radical love, and radical faith.”
The Queen’s Gambit premieres October 23 on Netflix.

☆ /  @irnmaidn :  🌠 give me all of them !!! 💖            SEND 🌠 && I'LL RECOMMEND A PLOT FOR US TO TRY OUT !!  || accepting !!
Tumblr media
i added a few recently too so like...this gonna be long sry....
☆ AHRI.   i mean...would cass like to meet a sexy fox spirit ?? because she could if she wants !! she’s curious && fairly cordial but she’s very deadly && mysterious && just kind of comes off with an air of uncertainty whether u should trust her or not && i think that’d be fun with cass cause we kno she loves dangerous mysterious women with a taste for biting wit. but in my tangled verse it’s similar to her canon -- she’s a fox spirit && has been alive for so long, ever searching for where her people like her are && where she came from. so perhaps cass could run into her && help ahri post series ?? or she could simply be along for the ride with mysterious && selfish reasons she won’t say but either way it’s always interesting to think about when her cloak finally drops && cass gets to find out about the fox ears && nine tails ;’) also she’d probably flirt with cass sry not sry
☆ NEEKO.   iiim admittedly still working on her tangled verse cause she’s a chameleon but pls love my lesbian chameleon girl she deserves the world tbh ?? she’s extremely sweet despite her entire tribe being destroyed && killed && she FELT every single bit of it && felt her people fade away. she’s pure sunshine but she WILL fight when she has to, when there’s no other option or when people with good sho’ma are endangered. she’s looking to make a new tribe for herself now -- made up of everyone, not just oovi-kat, so she really takes in everyone who she can && who is willing. she can shapeshift by extending her sho’ma to other’s sho’ma which is a sort of spiritual essence && she can borrow their appearance, gain current emotional state && recent memories to better camouflage as them && immediately kno friend from foe so i think it’d be rly neat tbh for cass to encounter that ?? plus with neeko she wouldn’t have to open up too much or have to fight to express her emotions or voice them since neeko can feel && sense && taste emotion -- they have colours && tastes to her. she can also split herself into two, sending out a clone of herself while she becomes invisible && has a lot of floral / plant based magic as well so i think she’d rly vibe with ur cass portrayal !! but tbh she’s very chipper upbeat && kinda rapunzely personality wise -- she’s just very curious about the world && wants to learn everything since she was from a magical tribe that isolated themselves from the world, so for hundreds of years she’s literally ONLY known her tribe && their home && it’s EXTREMELY different from the world ?? she’s so used to not physically speaking && just extending sho’ma && reading emotions from each other, so she struggles with communication && that can frustrate her sometimes, but she’s knows emotions && she can see past like faking things or past all those walls she’s got up !! it’d be neat...theyd be....cute tbh... i rambled too much but i just rly love neeko sm n if u wanna kno more about her or any of these u can ask too !! also...not for nothing but neeko rly rly loves n swoons for strong badass ladies !!
☆ KINDRED.    kindred is literally just...y’kno...death, the grim reaper whatever u wanna call them !! they’re as old as the concept of death && started as one man who cleaved himself in two so he’d have a friend -- they understand the deep pain of loneliness despite having each other now because they were born from loneliness. they’d sense that from her && i think there’s plenty of times she could have met them, when death was near to her or around her && theyre certainly not entirely happy about her resurrection. they’re easily translatable into any verse but they are very ethereal && magical && love to play with people. so anything considering death. near death or perhaps just running into them if cass happens near a particularly brutal bandit robbery about to take place on the road that ultimately she wont be able to stop even if they tell her about it :’)
☆ HANA.   hjdksmd u kno i love these already n all we’ve talked about aa !! but also i’d literally be up for anything i love them sm already !! but like ?? soft moments ?? cass getting to come to her kingdom ?? getting to pilot the mechs n getting to just uuhhhh live her life be free n be happy ??
but also :eyes: hehe what if we also have a plotline where hana finds out about the moonstone thing n meets her while she has the moonstone n tries to talk her down :’) possibly mushy stuff they don’t wanna say could come out too mayhaps
☆ AMITY.   she’s a little witch !! in her tangled verse she’s still a witch but she && her family are more in hiding about their powers && school so they’re all hidden away but amity’s family is a very, very noble family with a lot of money && power -- which extends to magic too lol. but it’d be Neat to meet cass n like amity looking up to her ?? she’s a lot like cass tbh, pretentious mean girl type who is rly rly icy n mean n sassy on the outside but she’s soft inside she just CANNOT show weakness n she oof is rly oppressed by her family n standards set for her n she ALSO has a crush on a sunshine girl who happens to be human. n she reads to younger kids n helps them out she’s softe secretly...just has a lot of pressure on her -- her parents wont let her hang around witches with lesser talent either. they’d get along i think after like tension but she’s just a lil teen witch n needs a good strong role model but she could also help cass out with the whole magic thing ykno ??
☆ PERFUMA.   ooooh they’d be cute !! perfuma is just...so sweet n positive n !! i’d love to interact with her in any of ur she.ra verses or i could absolutely try to fit her into a tangled verse but i’d absolutely want to keep her plant powers but that’d be neat with ur cass n her powers too !!
oh !! or aaalso, concept: we could have perfuma interacting with chrys !! n like when her n cass start working with the princess alliance n her helping them out n giving them insider info even if shes nervous n its dangerous n just perfuma helping her with that n giving her pep talks about her being brave ?? helping her with fashion stuff, helping her adjust to life where her sister can’t help as much ?? that’d be so cute bhadjksbh
☆ AKALI.   hehehee akali n cass would be hilarious at first i swear it -- they’re both headstrong, stubborn && sassy tbh. she’s from an order of acolytes that try to keep the balance of the spiritual / magical realm && the outside realms; she was raised in it && her mother && father were higher ups && very powerful in the order -- her father died in an attack led by her master’s friend on the order && they had to flee && try to remake with smaller ranks when she was very young. she succeeded her mother as the fist of the shadow but could not vibe with the way her master wasn’t taking action like she wanted to -- she wanted to restore balance in her way && she wanted to spill blood to do it because that’d be the only way to do it, so as an adult she just peaced off to do it her own way. && tbh that could fit in with a tangled verse -- just in the shadows, keeping the balance of magic unseen to most. she’s a trained assassin && she can literally throw three kunai && pierce three different hearts while in the midst of a smoke bomb like she’s insanely good -- she is also tiny n has some amazing muscles on her arms back && has very visible abs n she sexy n she kills me daily !! but they could get along ?? she does some magic but she was never the best at it tbh but depending on where in the timeline they meet it could be interesting ?? like s1 would be neat for her to meet someone like akali ?? another strong woman fighter but she also comes from a place that praised women’s strength instead of putting it down -- buuuuut she was hiiiighly ignored by her own mother in favour of another neophyte growing up so....ykno...Mood right ?? it stings a lot -- she saved everyone from a corrupted tree spirit n had the girl she looked up to spit in her face because she lost her leg n blamed it on akali && then her mother praised the girl instead of akali despite the other kids telling her what akali had done n singlehandedly dragged them to safety n she was like around nine or ten or so at the time... but it’d be cool if they met s1 n got to kno each other n maaaybe akali joins them on their journey since it has a lot to do with restoring the magical balance of the world n they could use a master assassin but also...the angst with cass taking the moonstone n the conflict akali would face about having to oust her cause ykno...shes fucking up the balance n thats her ykno....entire purpose riiiip
☆ WIDOWMAKER.   IDK BUT OOF i love widow. i haven’t thought about a tangled verse or a fantasy verse but like uuhhh something about being a french noblewoman married to a freedomfighter but ending up being brainwashed by some magical sect or talon but they’re part of zhan tiris crew or whatever ?? might be neat. she killed her husband && she’s just a little bit possessed now && a ruthless killer. so maaaaaybe....her trying to stop them on their journey to the dark kingdom ?? but her brainwashing starts wearing off the more she’s away from the source tbh -- but also, she’d be on cass’ side when she has the moonstone n honestly that’s very powerful, she’d have a very powerful ally to keep her on track && help like tell her she’s doing great because in the end she’s on zhan tiris side && she can probably see her the whole time && would be working to help get her back to power. also up in the air whether she ends up regaining herself later on && helping cass escape or whatever but she’d feel intensely guilty yikes but anyway i think it’d be honestly rly rly interesting n i’d love to do something with this if u’d be up for it bhdajkmd n like i said we can talk about any of these if u want too !!
☆ BENSON.   i have zero ideas for this right now because his series is just so far removed from tangled....it’s a post apocalyptic universe where there’s extremely large animals some of which can talk n want to destroy humans who all live under the surface mostly except the ones who try to survive on the surface. TBH u’d love it...i think u’d love wolf specifically too ?? i dont wanna spoil anything but yeah it might be something u might enjoy ??
but also like mlm wlw solidarity pls ?? he’s a pretty carefree but smart gay teen, he’d get along pretty well with her n play off her iciness cause he’s just like that ?? he started off just caring only for himself n his bug buddy n just thieving a lot but like got a lot of character development -- but i guess he could be a thief in tangled verse ?? n like grow out of it or she could show him there’s better ways n stuff ?? idk...

7 - Houston, I have so many problems (days gone by - nct)
Days Gone By masterlist | main masterlist - ao3 link
warning: excessive use of italics in this chapter because apparently I felt like it and I've only worked on this during night hours and honestly it probably doesn't make sense because it isn't edited properly okay love you bye now, enjoy the chapter (:
Mark drowns his sorrows in T Swift, Grey's Anatomy and Ben and Jerrys and we talk about Johnny a whole lot and the pressures of school and life decisions.
Tumblr media
I’ve got a hundred speeches thrown-out speeches I almost said to you
&
Yeah, after all this time, I’m still into you
Johnny was a good brother, just not exactly role model material. He was protective, but still let you do all the dumb stuff you thought of - like jumping fully clothed in the lake during winter or staying out past curfew because ‘mum will never know, not unless you tell her anyway’ - he was the one there to laugh with you, cry with you, encourage you to do stupid things because you have to live your life. Mark never really understood when Johnny would go on some philosophical rant about how you only get one life, if you aren’t enjoying it then you’re not doing it right.
He wasn’t constantly thinking about what to do next, how if he did this or that then this would happen. Mark was confused by it in all honestly, he couldn’t comprehend that Johnny studied for fun, wanted to do well not because he felt he had to but because he wanted to. Mark never felt like he made choices purely for himself, he did it for other people or because that’s what he was supposed to do. It wasn’t just academics, Mark was nice to everyone, he it his tongue when he really wanted to correct someone on their opinions (everyone is entitled to their own opinions but the guy was just plain wrong, zero factual basis for his arguments). Mark liked being in control of his own thoughts and feelings, he liked dictating his own life, for once. He just didn’t know how to regain control. He wanted to stop doing things for others, he wanted to be a little selfish – wanted to make himself happy first. He didn’t realise there was absolutely nothing selfish about that at all.
And then, as stupid as it may sound, Mark started binging Grey’s Anatomy. The medical drama was a major turning point for the sixteen-year-old (at the time), taught him about how he wanted to help people, how he wanted to make a difference to people’s lives. He remembers sitting down and talking to Johnny about it, about how he felt like he’d found his calling. Sure, if anyone asked him now, he’d tell people that he fell in love with medicine as a young child, always playing doctors with his teddy bears and seeing his mum go to work every day, not that Sandra Oh being the magnificent actress she is, made him want to learn more and more about the field, thus he pulled an all-nighter googling different medical pathways and finding what was right for him – and how.
Johnny was there for all the big decisions in his life. Johnny was there when Mark didn’t realise you were supposed to ‘come out’ if you were anything but straight (frankly, he strongly believed in the idea that no ones sexuality should be pre-determined and that no one should feel the need to define who they are - like that clip in ‘Love, Simon’ which prompted Jisung, Hyuck, Renjun and Jaemin all telling him to shut up when he went on a rant about how assuming someone’s sexuality is wrong and how coming out shouldn’t just be for the non-heterosexual) and in the midst of his first full-on breakdown over his burgeoning crush on Daniel from year 10 maths, Mark had said ‘he’ around thirty-two times, give or take a few (yes, Johnny had counted just to be sure), and only then had it truly dawned on Johny that this was it, this is the closest Johnny was getting to an ‘I-am-gay-and-this-is-me-coming-out-to-you’ moment. Honestly, it’d made Johnny quite proud - his mother was an avid supporter of the community and they’d grown up completely aware that any and all love was love, nothing wrong with any of it and those who believed otherwise didn’t deserve a lollipop (sue him, he was only eight and that was their mum’s way of describing people who were arseholes without calling them bad names). Johnny was there when Mark, sweating nervously and disgustingly clammy-handed, told them how he wanted to follow in their mothers (actually Meredith Grey’s, not that he was going to tell his mum that) footsteps and become a doctor too. Why he was so nervous, he’ll never really know nor understand.
Especially not when Johnny picked him up and twirled him around in a hug shouting about how his little brother is going to be a doctor, Johnny always was one for theatrics, their mum on the other hand gave her usual warm-hearted smile, said she’d support him no matter what and wrapped him up in one of her bear-hugs. She always gave the best hugs, they simply felt like home, like no matter what you’d be safe.
Jisung smiled, too young to really care and didn’t understand why Mark had made some big deal about it – “it’s just a degree, you could buy one online for like a hundred pounds instead”. Yes, Jisung spent too much time on the internet, Mark really didn’t want to know what the majority of his time on there was spent doing. Honestly, Mark had him pegged as some sort of edgy Tumblr teen running an insanely successful blog for a book-turned-tv-or-movie series so the majority of his time was probably devoted to reading (that Mark knew) and watching and then reviewing the episodes. It was somewhat worrying the amount Mark had thought about this, was he a multi-fandom blogger or did he just stick to one? What was he watching? Shadowhunter’s? Harry Potter? Sherlock? So, many, questions. But hey, it wasn’t Marks business to know. If he’d just asked Jisung he’d be aware of the youngers multiple blogs, one dedicated to his love of kpop and idols with dimples, the other dedicated to reviewing and just general chatting and fan theories about his favourite book series turned movie/TV shows, Mark wasn’t as far off as he’d like to believe.
With everything that was happening with Hyuck, or rather lack thereof, Mark was desperate to feel at least somewhat in control of his life. Desperate to feel like he was doing something that mattered, like he was working toward something. One thing Mark could always rely on is that all of his friends and family, among other things, would describe him as a workaholic. As much as Mark loved to attempt to dispute this, he couldn’t. It was the truth and being the emotionally constipated teenager that he is – what better way to deal with your emotions that not doing so and instead throwing yourself into schoolwork? Mark was a broken human in many ways, in many ways he was just normal. Just like any other teenager feeling like they didn’t have their lives under control, feeling like they had to make life altering and affirming decisions at the age of sixteen or seventeen. It wasn’t fair. It didn’t feel fair at least. It didn’t feel fair that he couldn’t have some cute teenage love story like in the movies, didn’t feel fair that he had to submit his university applications by mid-October when everyone else got to wait until December, didn’t feel fair that everyone else had their soulmates or were finding them left and right but he was stuck.
It was stupid and selfish but he wanted to feel upset. He wanted to feel like he’d lost something rather than just admitting the plain truth that Donghyuck just didn’t like him back. Not every love story was straight (oh the irony) out of Wattpad and not everyone got their happy ending, at least not yet. So, a very stressed Mark was free to wander mindlessly around his home, mind too occupied with some parallel universe where there’s no such thing as soulmates and everyone possess the ability to fall in love with whomever they wish. Not that that would change much in Mark’s case, but let the guy dream okay? Okay.
Johnny was a good brother. But Johnny was still his brother at the end of the day.
A brother who comes home for the weekend unexpectedly and so his seventeen year old brother believes he’s able to be singing his heart out to wildest dreams by Taylor swift, I break from crying over Mcdreamy’s death, with a pot of Ben and Jerrys fish food (yeah he was in full blown sad mode) in hand and the most over-sized hoodie he could get his hands on, actually wearing his glasses for once and well… Mark was a mess, in peace, but Johnny took the initiative of filming Marks current endeavours before making his presence known by snorting obnoxiously and crumpling into a ball (well as close as Johnny could get to folding his over six foot body into something remotely small) on the floor of their kitchen unable to breathe normally for at least ten minutes and unable to look Mark in the eye for the next two hours while keeping a straight face, as every time it resulted in him wheezing again and managing to get out a “Y-you, you listen,” another wheeze, “to Taylor, the Taylor Swift,” another, stupid, wheeze, “like queen of break up songs when you’re sad? Oh, Mark, where did I go wrong with raising you.” Yeah, not the most pleasant of experiences for Mark, his bright red ears clearly displaying his emotions.
He should be allowed to drown his sorrow in peace, listening to Taylor Swift (and Adele but Johnny didn’t hear his rendition of ‘hello’ so #MarkFirstWin) eating his ice cream and dancing around the kitchen. We’ve all been there and anyone who says they haven’t done some sort of version of this is a down right liar, or just really, really, lucky and hasn’t experienced any form of heartbreak ever.
Nevertheless, this is the same Johnny who then slaps you so hard on the back that it winds you, and then tells you with the biggest shit-eating grin on his face, “Hey! You know what would be perfect to distract you?” No Johnny, he was taking the Taylor Swift route. Mark just shook his head, his ears tinting red at the memory of Johnny catching him again (yes it was three hours again) and how he would definitely be relaying the message to others. “Well, your uni applications are in, nothing you can do right now to change that. So, I wasn’t going to invite you because I knew you’d say no but now I’m leaving you no choice. As it’s Winwin and Yuta’s birthdays, they’re having a party tonight and you are coming with me.”
       “But-“
“Yeah, no buts. You’re coming. Yes, everyone will be there – it’s a family affair. Even Jisung is coming for a bit but I’ve already bought him chocolate milk and put it in the fridge at Yuta’s place.”
“And you’re really going to let me drown my sorrows in alcohol after my birthday party?”
“Sure, after all, what’s the worst that could happen?”
Like Mark said, Johnny let you do the dumb shit. He’d help you pick up the pieces later.
Hyuck. Alcohol. Jungwoo. Alcohol. Yuta. Alcohol. Winwin. Alcohol. Jaehyun. Alcohol. Soulmates. Black-out drunk.

Bridal Boudoir Photo Shoot!
7.29.19
I’m freaking out!!!
LET’S START FROM THE BEGINNING
So as I’ve mentioned in an earlier post I decided to book a boudoir bridal shoot with a photographer friend of mine months ago. Around March/April I started thinking about doing it for myself as an empowerment thing to love my body but also maybe to gift to my future hubby. I looked up pictures I wanted to maybe recreate with her and booked two hours with her and rented out a really cool little private studio she knew of.
Friday was the day! I have kept this a secret for months from Reed and wanted to wait until I had the nerve to go through with it to tell him. So I booked a hair and make-up app months ago at a school nearby (cheap) and I didn’t want to much pressure or to spend too much money. Overall I spent $265 for the space & time, tip & the actual editing/photograph price. I am happy and most of them came out lovely but looking at all of them I feel like I look a little messy like my hair and just my body itself. Now I know I’m being hard on myself, every woman is in this society...she asked what was the one problem area I had or any insecurities and I said literally just my stomach I don’t want rolls showing so sitting positions are not my friend even with good posture. I felt like I ended up doing a lot of sitting positions though and there are rolls in two pictures that makes me a little insecure but I’m trying to embrace it.

THE DAY OF
To be honest Friday was kind of a nightmare...the earliest appointment when I booked my hair and makeup months ago was 10:30 a.m. and I had to be in the city by 1:00 p.m. and I was hoping to get there a little earlier to calm my nerves and prep and have time to relax but the girl took SO long on my hair and didn’t even really do what I wanted that I had to leave and do my own make-up as soon as she finished with my hair which was at 12 p.m. and I had an hour and 15 min ride to the city and needed to find parking and do my make-up before I got in there! I was disappointed because I wanted a really teased look with lots of volume and big curls, I got the curls but zero volume and blow out...I also wanted them to do my makeup so I could do false eyelashes because I think on camera it would look so good but that didn’t happen due to time so thank god I thought to bring my own makeup along.
I messaged her and let her know I was running late and I don’t know why I didn’t think of this beforehand but the night before I was shaving and prepping and I completely forgot about doing my nails. I panicked and ran to CVS ten minutes before close to buy fake nails thinking it would be fine. Well they stayed on through the night but I lost 2 in my car and when another fell off I just about had it, I ripped them off and pouted. I found parking ok but walked in the wrong direction of the place and in total missed about 30 minutes of my session! My friend was so calm and collected, she said not to worry take my time. I was shaking as I did my makeup and tried not to be awkward...
I did bring some bubbly to share so we had a few sips & then we were off because I didn’t want to waste anymore time! I’m a little bummed with myself for buying beautiful pieces and not really utilizing them during it, I kept changing and taking things on and off I was pretty comfortable with the nudity and she said she was too but I did feel a little mechanical and robotic when posing because I had no idea what I was doing, leading up to it I kept practicing faces in the mirror and taking tips from America’s Next Top Model HAHAHA I’m not joking...but when it came time to do these poses it was really hard to give a good face! I was trying to do the sexy smolder look and it was coming off as too angry and serious haha, she gave great direction though but I just think like every person knows what looks good for their own self like their hair and make-up and how they position their selves and I wish I could have seen myself through her eyes so I could really give 100%. I felt rushed and the veil was really hard to work with it kept catching in my hair and if it was over my face my eyelashes and hair kept getting in the way, it was hard to relax and feel sexy but I tried!
Tumblr media
OVERALL I AM SO HAPPY I DID IT
I think this Friday my friend and I will be taking more just for fun so maybe I can do more of the ones I didn’t have a chance to do but I really do love some of the ones I got back from this weekend and it was really great to do, I think every woman should do it at least once in their life, heck I may do it again! I did tell Reed Saturday morning and he got excited just thinking about it haha but he said he didn’t want to see the pics until they were all done and sent to us! She is finishing them up today and I’m excited to see what other shots she got! I just really hope Reed finds them sexy and attractive, I’ll post some to share with you all they came out beautiful! I’d love to hear your thoughts!

[Shizaya] All Things Considered - Ch 1
Summary: What happens when Shizuo uses Celty's party for Shinra as an excuse to invite whom he supposedly hates, while Izaya creates his own fun from the situation.
Preview: After one interaction, Shizuo considered himself unlucky and desperately tried to replace that luck with anything that he could, but suddenly there was so much to consider. Vague swirls of mixed feelings, unnecessary connections to daily happenstances, nebulous definitions to what each sporadic meeting meant. He became obsessed with considering the root of their relationship, buried deep in fertile soil, in support of a surfaced weed.
Chapter: 1/5; Chapter Index
A03 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/15924572
Shizuo was really only on pleasant terms with a dismal few. It was something that city dwellers often assumed upon first glance, as was it common knowledge among seasoned and nubile members of Dollars, thanks to a sticky-post of rumours atop the forums.
The near-thirty roughian had grown to appreciate his rather lone wolf lifestyle and regarded it as a blessing in disguise, the silver lining of his unfortunate nature. With little to no social obligations he was allowed his idyllic life of peace and simplicity. At least that's what he believed would come of his future, while his present awkwardly flirted with the dream.
Really though, Shizuo wasn’t entirely without people that weren’t an aggravation to him, more that the list was stacked fairly short. Even shorter were those he interacted with on a regular basis; and those few all fell within a web of eccentric friends and odd acquaintances, all mutually connected whilst baffling that they all belonged to the same group.
In short, Shizuo didn’t have more than two that were specific to him, and parents hardly counted… So that totaled to a underwhelming zero.
Hence, it came without a shock that all those friends of his were already invited to a party of an annual occurrence. Asocial event that was set to start in a matter of minutes, rather it was minutes grouped together in batches of sixty, as if anyone ever counted time in minutes unless it fell under an hour. Shizuo wasn’t even happy to constantly calculate that total, but his anxiety kept him to a countdown that added necessary pressure for a deadline that quickly approached. That and his current fixation wouldn’t allow him to consider how unconventional and inconvenient the method of telling time was.
As it were, Shizuo had started a war with his phone, in a continual raid of his laughable list of friends in order to find someone, anyone, that he could add to an already abundant and hilariously dysfunctional lot of partygoers. The task was near impossible and went alongside the party coordinator’s insistence not to, Celty being too considerate of Shizuo and his easily triggered bullheadedness.
In opposition, Shizuo felt it was his duty to go against her insistence with said bullheaded persistence; he too was overly considerate of his friend’s well being, which had him jump into chivalrous action once Celty mentioned she felt she’d already failed as a decent host.
They were a nervous pair, those two, that danced around their will to do right for the other, quite similar to a younger pair of individuals still donned in their Raira blues. Though the connection to Mikado and Anri would surely upset a certain obsessive doctor who’d appreciate any comparison other than a duo whose hidden romantic feelings for each other weren’t hidden at all.
But that was hardly a topic that Shizuo would ever humour, and certainly not presently as another sixty-six minutes had ticked by with only failure to speak of. He’d already been drawing from a dried well, but even looking beyond those of his friends he couldn’t even muster one that he didn’t consider a friend.
     ...Fuckin’ hell...
Of course that was a lie. There was a specific someone that he wouldn’t classify as a friend, yet he knew quite well...
...it better not come down to...
…a shared contact between the bodyguard and courier alike.
However their perception of the shared contact differed. Celty had long blacklisted the individual from her thoughts unless otherwise prompted, while Shizuo…
Maybe it was a bit more complicated than succinct, but essentially it meant that Celty hadn't even considered to invite whom Shizuo had.
And he most certainly had considered them.
A lot.
Too much.
Way too much.
In fact, the subject of Shizuo’s toil wasn't exclusive to the moment nor event, but a moment from a week back and at least several times since.
      No…wait...
It went back a month...rather a year. At least.
      ...err...
Really, it all traced back to their introduction. It was prompt and came uninvited, but Shizuo inexplicably fell into a pattern of constantly considering something of the parasite, to which he always forced the blame on the other, never himself.
After one interaction, Shizuo considered himself unlucky and desperately tried to replace that luck with anything that he could, but suddenly there was so much to consider. Vague swirls of mixed feelings, unnecessary connections to daily happenstances, nebulous definitions to what each sporadic meeting meant. He became obsessed with considering the root of their relationship, buried deep in fertile soil, in support of a surfaced weed.
And it had annoyed the fuck out of Shizuo for about a decade; his trademark scowl a consistent expression, almost a tattoo by now.
To which that regrettable tattoo now reflected back onto Shizuo from his dark phone screen, seconds in lag of its boot up. It’d been the tenth time he’d flipped open the battle-scared device to begin yet another monotonous scroll through his modest catalog of contacts, frustrated and desperate, eyes narrowed in scrutiny.
Nothing changed.
While he was a fool for hoping that something new would appear, a completely hopeless fool he wasn’t. He knew that a miracle wouldn’t magic up a solution for him.
It was just like he knew that another nervous assault of his fridge, door nearly pulled off its hinges, would still offer a distinct lack of his favourite brand of pudding, while presented with the same disappointing milk that he'd almost drank dry and an assortment of leftovers he’d brought home from tried and true fast food joints.
He groaned, as did the unfortunate door that he slammed behind him. His phone, however, was brightly lit and chipper in mock of him as it spilled a glow over his glum features, especially so when he focused on the current spot of his opened address book.
Each and every time he dug back into his contacts, the highlight of a particular name would have his thumb hover over the send button. Each and every repetition his hesitation grew a fraction longer before the clack of folded plastic jostled him out of his trance.
      ...that’s the last time.
The name in question shouldn't have been there at all, given that he hadn’t been the one to type in the aggravating string of kana, rather it was the work of a prankster.
     Tch...
A simple distraction, swift hijack, and a glint of satisfaction placed his first phone of many into the hands of a devious brat who typed so adeptly that Shizuo hardly knew it ever left his pocket.
For six years, eight different models, twenty destroyed phones, and way too many data transfers later the parasitic name of his foe nestled itself comfortably between those of his friends, while it stood out just like the asshole to whom it belonged.
Whenever he went to dial his brother, he was reminded of the jerk. If he needed to reach his middle school chum turned boss, that bastard came to mind. Perchance he needed a patch from his unofficial doctor, the antagonist was probably already mid-attack of his thoughts, but would stab with more gusto once the sparse list was summoned.
Eventually he’d built up a tolerance for the pretentious name, but still decided to edit the title to one that better resembled the prick.
It was a nickname that was familiar to his vocal chords and could’ve mistakenly pegged Shizuo as a pet owner with a rather unfortunate pest problem, so much so that he needed the number of an exterminator at the ready.
In nature of the unflattering nickname, that flea popped its way back into Shizuo’s thoughts to become a nuisance that only increased as time went on, yet he considered the pest as his inevitable solution.
Again.
Yet, fucking, again.
He wasn't even looking at the name and it still burned his cornea and unsurprisingly his temper.
It’s his fault. It’s always his goddamn fault. Why is it always his fault!?
A reel of his arm nearly had him pitch his phone to the floor, just before he caught himself.
Shizuo’s deliberation had grown ridiculously long while he repeatedly paced the circuit of his constrained living room, his hand cramped from a tight clutch of his phone for roughly 246 minutes. Really, he wasn’t counting.
All he needed was a definitive yes or no: should or shouldn't he invite Izaya?
What little patience he owned had finally wore down to his nerves and pleaded help from his instincts. In light of his predictable trend, his gut lurched him into action well before he could weigh how much of a mistake it could be; more apt, would be.
He thumbed the send button and the phone obeyed.
     Shit… I didn't want to do that…Shit! SHIT!
Juggled between his hands the ringing of his phone bounced in surround sound before he got control over it, nervous to put the speaker up to his ear.
It was an accident, a slip of his thumb, a hiccup in his concentration, it was anything but a conscious desire. That's what he would tell the others in response to why he did it. As if anyone within his circle of friends would believe him. For that matter, no one familiar with the ongoing of Ikebukuro would be fooled by the half-baked cover up.
Because why wouldn't he just stop the phone call from going through if he didn't mean for it to happen? It was just as easy to make a mad jab against the red button as it was to hit the green.
Clearly he let the ring continue just to keep his pride intact. Not because he wanted to hear the voice that broadcasted from the district over from his own, and especially not because he wanted to hear it in person again.
Though all mad consideration stopped the second the line connected and forced him to initiate conversation.
   “Uh…”
He nearly ended it there, too dumbfounded to compose a sentence. It was a chuckle that inspired him to continue, and he'd be damned if he’d admit how kind it was to his ears.
   “...it's Shinra's birthday.”

Nancy McKeon is sorry about the sudden whirring sound. She has a protein shake to make, perhaps more cheerfully than one has ever blended a smoothie before, seeing as she's in the heart of rehearsing for her Dancing With the Stars debut.
Best known for her role as Jo Polniaczek on the hit '80s sitcom The Facts of Life, McKeon is so nice it's a good thing her return to TV is on DWTS and not Big Brother. The 52-year-old actress is self-deprecating about her dancing skills, utters "Good gravy!" when surprised, enjoys getting schooled on both footwork and social media from her pro partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, and, I'm convinced, secretly bakes chocolate chip cookies for her fellow competitors. If this sounds a lot like your mom, that's probably because McKeon took nearly 15 years off to focus on raising her daughters, 14-year-old Aurora and 11-year-old Harlow, whom she shares with husband Marc Andrus.
The break was well deserved. McKeon started working when she was two, first as a child model and commercial actor before scoring roles on TV, and was acting up until the seventh month of her first pregnancy. "I just love what I do, but I have been given this amazing gift of my husband and my children, and I didn't want to not be there for this small amount of time you get with them," she tells ET. "I can't even believe when I say 15 years. It just feels like a nanosecond. I really wanted to give them all my attention that they deserve."
Though she had a handful of smaller, carefully chosen roles, DWTS will be McKeon's first big return to the spotlight since her Lifetime detective drama, The Division, wrapped in 2004, and she knows you're probably surprised to see her name on the list of season 27 competitors. "This isn't something that I would normally do. It really is outside my comfort zone," she admits.
If it weren't for an important family meeting, she may not have even strapped on dance shoes. "The way to affect change in your life is to move beyond your comfort zone, so I had this conversation with [my daughters] and they said, 'Mom, this is going to be great. You can do it.' Having them as my support team and cheerleaders is extraordinary," she says. "As a mom, I can tell them to be brave and I can say, 'This is how you should be,' but sometimes there's no more powerful demonstration than actually doing it. So I just decided, you know what, I'm going to scare the living life out of myself and say yes and just show up every day and see what happens. Everything changes and moves you, so I'm also excited about all the changes and the different things that I'm learning in this venture as well."
She may have found the perfect partner-in-crime in Chmerkovskiy. Not only is there a clear chemistry and sense of humor between the two already, but McKeon is pretty sure they've settled on the team name of "McVal." "I got top billing so I gave him an extra letter," she jokes.
McKeon has zero dance experience and, despite doing hot yoga regularly and living on a ranch where she averages four to seven miles of walking a day, she says none of her previous roles have helped prep her for DWTS. "I don't think anything can prepare your feet for being crammed into a high heel and then dance across a stage," she says. On top of that, social media wasn't a part of the TV landscape the last time she was here.
Luckily, Chmerkovskiy is an excellent teacher. So far, the pair has put in about two weeks of rehearsals. McKeon feels they're doing well as they run their steps and get their stamina up for the big, first number, and her partner is giving her some very important advice during what she calls "a master class every day." "'Don't have the terror look.' That's a big one," McKeon says. "He said, 'Look at me, but not with those eyes that are scared. Smile! Enjoy!' I love him for doing that because when I work, it's focus and concentration. The last [acting projects] had been drama and prepping for that, and this really needs to just be fun."
McKeon says her and Chmerkovskiy's goal for week one is "just sheer fun and love." This is partially to provide some escapism for fans during these tumultuous times but also because, on a personal level, if she's going to leave her family, it needed to be for a good reason.
"[My daughters] are everything to me, and without them and my amazing husband, then nothing really does have much meaning. I've worked a lot and this is really the first time I've gone away and am spending a lot of time doing something," she reveals. "It's uncomfortable because I miss them, but somewhere [down the line], I think this might be very helpful in our conversations as our lives go on, and I'm interested to see where all that lands too."
"It's funny, you maybe wouldn't put a dancing show or something like that in this sort of category, but it really is a lot more than just dancing," she adds. "You develop this wonderful friendship and partnership with, in my particular case, Val. He's awesome and everybody loves him. I think I feel even more pressure now because he's the show's national treasure, but so far I'm thrilled that people seem to be OK with him being partnered with me!"
Holding family as the most important pillar has been essential in helping the dancing partners connect. Though she hasn't met Chmerkovskiy's brother, Maksim, as he's not competing this season, McKeon has met his fiancee, fellow DWTS pro Jenna Johnson, whom she describes as "dear," "beautiful" and "sweet." McKeon has even dished out some excellent advice for Chmerkovskiy and Johnson's pending nuptials.
"I told him to enjoy the day. I've been married for 15 years, and I can still look back and remember every single moment of [my wedding] day. It was just about 20 people and it was our day, and it was one of the best days of my life," she recalls. "So, my advice to him was, 'It's just got to be about the two of you. After all, the rest of your life is about the two of you.' That's what I did -- there was no stress, no pressure, and it was really amazing. Other than that, I think everyone figures it out for themselves!"
Johnson has popped by rehearsals, bringing smoothies or simply saying hello and providing encouragement, which has helped McKeon have a bit of that familial grounding while away from home. "The family you get welcomed into on this show is extraordinary. Everybody -- from the guys who help you park in the morning and our security to the producing teams -- they literally are all happy to be there and they're rooting for everybody," she explains. "I have never felt like an outsider from day one. What a great thing! I love the atmosphere they've created. Yeah, it's a competition, but everyone's cheering everybody else on too."
McKeon will have some very important faces in the crowd when season 27 kicks off on Sept. 24. Her daughters and husband will be there (she joked that they better be, just in case there's no week two for her!), as well as actress Lisa Vidal, her best friend since they were partnered up on The Division, which also starred then-unknowns Jon Hamm and Taraji P. Henson, along with Parenthood's Bonnie Bedelia.
"I told her, 'Mama, you're going to have to help me with some kind of cha-cha or salsa,'" McKeon says of Vidal. "Lisa is like a sister, but that whole cast -- it really was one of the best times of my life. I loved everybody on that show. We were all supportive of each other and to watch Jon blossom and Taraji just shatter it is so beautiful… It's so exciting to watch such good people get to do what they love to do and just crush it. They're amazing people. It's a joy for me to be an uber fan because [after the show ended], I got to be with the most important people, which is my kiddos and my hubby."
McKeon is the first to admit she's been blessed to work with some incredible people throughout her career. She famously acted alongside Michael J. Fox in the '80s, as well as Mariska Hargitay and Jean Smart in the short-lived sitcoms Can't Hurry Love and Style & Substance, respectively, plus she did take some time out from being a stay-at-home mom to play Demi Lovato's mother on the Disney Channel show, Sonny With a Chance, from 2009-2010.
Though the two haven't spoken in some time, McKeon only had kind words for Lovato, who suffered a relapse and apparent overdose earlier this summer
"I wouldn't presume. I can only send all my love. She seems to be incredibly smart… It was a difficult time during that show and things kind of went on, but I can tell you in my experience, she was genuinely lovely to me and to my girls, who were much younger at the time and very excited to meet her," McKeon says of her onscreen daughter. "I have every confidence that she's going to come back stronger and in a way that is the best for her. She deserves that."
McKeon was side-by-side another big actor during their early days, one whom she gets asked about a lot: George Clooney, whose first real TV experience was as a handyman on The Facts of Life. Though his time with them was short, McKeon says she would see him working on another show on the lot and they remained friends. "He's everything you want him to be," she happily reveals. "He's fun, an incredible talent, and he's loyal as the day is long. He deserves all good things and it looks like that's exactly what he's gotten."
The most important connection she has from those sitcom days, however, was with Charlotte Rae, who portrayed the beloved, wise-cracking redheaded housemother of the fictional Eastland School. She died in early August at age 92 after a series of illnesses, and McKeon chokes up when thinking about her beloved friend.
"That's a hard one for me. It's soon," she says slowly. "Charlotte's one of the most remarkable people I've ever met in my life and we were actually very good friends. If I was in L.A., we were always together and if I wasn't, I came in, even if it was just to see her. She's been at my ranch and hung out with the girls and myself, and I will always be the luckiest person and a much better person for having had her in my life."
The women of The Facts of Life still keep in touch. In fact, McKeon has been texting with Kim Fields, as the actress known as Tootsie danced with pro Sasha Farber in season 22 of DWTS. Though McKeon hasn't watched every season of the dance competition show, she did watch Fields and Farber compete "with joy and amazement."
"She just knocked it out of the park. She's just so amazing. We've been texting and I said, 'Really? Did you have to set the bar this high? Girlfriend, I don't know if I can live up [to that].' She's just a doll and supportive," McKeon says, adding that she's gone back to watch some of Chmerkovskiy's dances with previous partners but had to stop "because he's so good" and didn’t want to get stuck in a brain warp comparing herself to others.
In fact, Fields' best advice had nothing to do with the dancing itself. "'Have fun. Enjoy this week, this day, this rehearsal. Try not to look ahead.' For me, I think that's awesome advice because it's really just got to be about the journey," McKeon says. "There's some amazing people dancing, so it's really not about an end result for me. What I'm looking for is the best I can do on every single day."
"It doesn't matter how sore [I am] -- get up, go back, fight the good fight the next day," she continues. "Have some smile, as my partner would say, and just enjoy that day, because none of us can possibly predict how long any of us have."
Season 27 of Dancing With the Stars kicks off Monday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

Though the two haven't spoken in some time, McKeon only had kind words for Lovato, who suffered a relapse and apparent overdose earlier this summer.
'He's everything you want him to be," she happily reveals.

Instant Confidence With Women
 Buy Now
And you can too:WITHOUT using any sleazy “pickup” techniques…WITHOUT wearing ridiculous clothes…WITHOUT having to fake a “bad boy” attitude….And even if you’ve never dated anything but “average women” before in your life…
In a moment, I’m going to tell you a shocking story about how a piece of sushi changed my life forever…
I’m also going to flat out GIVE YOU THE KEY to the #1 factor in attracting beautiful women – regardless of your age, height, looks, wealth, or anything else.
What you’ll find shocking is that you likely already know about it, the problem is that nobody has ever shown you how to get it. But that’s all about to change…
Let me explain…
After I divorced my wife, you can imagine how I felt. I lost my family. I was broke. I was feeling rotten about myself. I couldn’t imagine any woman would EVER want to date me. I felt like if someone introduced a woman to me, the first words out of my mouth would be:
“Hi, I’m Adam. I’m a failure. Want to go out?”
I was seriously lacking that one thing that women say they want – confidence.
Everything I had ever read or watched about women said that confidence was the number one quality that turned women on. I knew to the core of my depressed soul that in order to attract women, I needed to show it and I needed to show it fast.
But the truth is, I didn’t FEEL confident. In fact, I felt the exact opposite! I doubted myself deeply and didn’t feel worthy to be with an amazing woman.
What made things worse was that everything I had ever read about attracting women told me I had to be a different person – wear crazy clothes – put women down – put on a mask and be someone that I not only WASN’T, but did not want to be. (Plus, my sons would totally make fun of me if I tried any of that silly, embarrassing posturing.)
What I secretly hoped was that I’d get lucky… meet my dream woman… and then she’d just like me so much that my lack of confidence wouldn’t matter.
Unfortunately for me, that only happens in Hollywood movies.
And I was given a hard dose of reality one day, as the perfect situation fell into my lap…
I had just come in from a job in Munich and I was in New York, feeling low, and alone. A friend recommended a place called Sushi Samba. It was packed.
There were no booths, so I pulled up a stool to the sushi bar.
Next to me, there was a slender young man, picking at his plate. I asked “What are you eating?” as I looked up at his face.
This was no young man.
This was the most beautiful girl…21, skin smooth and creamy as brie, her pixie like face framed in a short bob haircut…
Within a few short sentences – the most amazing coincidences arose…
Listen – I had just spent the last 3 weeks in Munich…I had studied philosophy in college, and I had been a tour guide in New York. This exquisite angelic beauty had been a philosophy major and said to me – in a sentence that I couldn’t have scripted…
“I am an Armani model. I just moved here from Munich last night and I don’t know anybody in this city.”
I know — a perfect Hollywood moment, right?
Well, it would have been if I knew what to do.
This is where the piece of sushi came in…
All I could do was stare at my plate – wondering what the hell to say next…
I mean, think about it…
Every guy in the world DREAMS of a moment like this where you are given instant connection, instant authority – an open door.
But my eyes were locked on my plate. It was as if the sushi was shouting back at me…
“SAY something! Do Something! ANYTHING!”
I didn’t have the words. I didn’t have the body language. I didn’t have the ability to make her feel intrigued, to trust me, or want me…In short…
I had ZERO Confidence, And It Showed…
Our conversation stumbled forward after this, strained and awkward.
This was the moment I had been waiting years for! To meet a beautiful, sweet, friendly…supermodel! And I had nothing.
My heart sunk as I watched her pay her tab and walk away, disappearing out of my life, forever. As I slumped home in the rain, alone, I made a vow…
This was NOT going to be my life. This was NOT going to be my destiny.
From that day forward, I made it a point to read everything important EVER written about male attraction with women. Meet every guru. Take every workshop.
And during this time, I made a strange discovery – NOBODY – not any dating, pickup, or relationship expert will EVER tell you.
It is…
I realized that I did NOT have to be 100% confident to inspire the interest of a beautiful woman. I just needed to know the triggers to make her FEEL that she was with a confident man.
That’s what was the single biggest “aha” I ever had with women. Because like me, the typical guy spends much of his life in a vicious cycle — waiting for a beautiful woman to like him so he can feel confident…but never being able to GET a beautiful woman because he lacks confidence.
But the triggers I discovered STOP that never-ending cycle…and give you a short-cut to at least seeming confident with women, so they want you and results follow.
Before I discovered these triggers, I was utterly hopeless with women. We’ve all seen the whipped married guy with no balls who does anything his wife says…that was me.
And I was still that guy! Women just looked right through me. They just saw me as a “friendly” guy…not the guy who would take them home and make wild passionate love to them all night. And it hurt.
In fact, it was devastating.
But since I discovered these “confidence triggers”, I’ve been able to naturally attract and date beautiful women.
Using these triggers, I’m never lost in conversation – and, rather than ever having to prove myself to women…
I’ve learned how to flip the power so that women “mysteriously” find they feel the need to prove themselves to me.
These triggers – a few of which I’m going to give you in a second – allow me to be relaxed, confident, and magnetic to women, even when I am not feeling that way inside.
That’s crucial, because if you currently don’t feel confident around women, THIS IS FOR YOU.
Because no matter how you feel right now, you’ll finally be able to appear confident– and therefore, attract any woman, anywhere – starting TODAY.
Listen closely – I’m going to share with you 3 triggers that you can use on ANY woman that add up to her saying…
“I want you.”
And you can use these triggers without having to change one thing about yourself – ESPECIALLY if you don’t feel 100% confident inside.
Even if you’ve had false limiting beliefs, like…
“I’m too short.” “I don’t make enough money.” “I’m too old.” “I’m too young” “I look funny.” “I’m not good looking enough.” “I have a boring job.” “Women won’t like me.” “I don’t want to get rejected.”
Or if you’ve been shy..
Or have crashed and burned too many times in the past…
Don’t worry.
I also used to be stopped by these confidence killers, but have left them in the dust – as have thousands of my students.
None of us – my students nor I – are quarterbacks, rock stars, or Seal Team 6 members…
We’re just regular guys who know the triggers to give women that warm, safe, curious turned-on feeling that they are with a man who is confident.
And now it’s your turn.
Here are 3 triggers to get you started…
1. The “Dominant Frame” Trigger.
Women know what you’re thinking subconsciously.
So the secret here is, before you even open your mouth, you must communicate the single most important message a man can give a woman…
I am choosy. And I choose you.
This is a frame that carries are two part message that establishes your authority, then opens the door for you to make her feel special in one second.
So when you see a woman, instead of saying, “Hi, my name is…”
Feel this inside as you introduce yourself:
“I don’t usually go out of my way to talk to women, most of them have nothing to say. But you seem to ‘get it.’ My name is…”
See the difference? It’s a subtle, yet powerful shift that women notice immediately.
Especially because it not only positions you as a man of choice, but also triggers her innate desire to prove herself to you. And she feels special that such a cool, confident, discerning man chooses her.
This one trigger — successfully applied — immediately puts you in the power position – she feels you are confident, even if your knees are knocking.
She’s going to look at you differently.
Without this trigger – you’re just another chump trying to win her attention.
2. The “Body Language” Trigger.
Don’t worry, this isn’t the normal BS you’re told about language…I’m talking about something different.
You see, the biggest mistake men make with their bodies…is giving off the “Nervous” vibe.
And nervous feels to her as one thing…submissive.
You probably don’t realize that you lose women with simple extraneous movements in your hands, the angle of your hips, the tilt of your head, the openness of your chest, the way your hold your shoulders…
You may have the best conversation topics in the world – but your body might be silently screaming to her:
“Please approve of me!” or “I’m scared!”
Leaving her with one overwhelming feeling:
I don’t feel safe with this guy.
“Moving, be like water.”
One of the many exercises I’ve taught my students is to practice “Moving As If Through Water.” It’s a way of slowing yourself down. If you think you might come off as nervous, practice moving your body as if resisted by the pressure of water, slowly, with the deliberation of focus – it gives women the sense of deep, internal strength.
You’ll notice women rarely go dreamy-eyed over the “Submissive, Chaotic” type. In fact, just the opposite, they swoon over and throw themselves at the Strong, Silent type.
When you master the trigger of Body Confidence, only then might she surrender herself to your bodily care.
If not – if you don’t do this right, why would she entrust her body to you? Unless you learn how to work this trigger, you’re going to go home alone.
3. The “Commanding Conversation” Trigger.
First, you need to understand two principles, of which, when properly acted upon, can utterly change your life:
1. If you do not lead, she can not follow.2. Either she is leading, or you are.
I have so many ways to show you how to put these principles into practical action. In fact: I could give you an entire toolbox of ways to make her feel that you’re a man in command of your world, not some passive wimp, listlessly waiting for life to happen to him…
Which is a HUGE turn off!
For example – in the first second of meeting, you can add value.
When she says, “I’m Bethany, how are you?”
You say…
“Great – I just got tickets to [event] Foo Fighters or I just got back from  [travel] Bermuda – there’s this beach I love there called Paradise Cove…etc… have you seen them/ have you been?”
In a millisecond – you’ve taken a simple moment of introduction, and like you’ve thrown a train switch, you’ve taken the conversation where you want to go.
Subconsciously, she is already following you.
And from there, it’s infinitely easier to take the steps I’ll show you to lead her right into your arms, your bedroom, your life.
Without taking command like this, or any of the other methods that I’ll show you, she’ll be like a hitchhiker on the highway of life – waiting for another man to pick her up and show her a good time.
Folks, this is easy. These are skills from the Instant Confidence toolbox that anyone can learn.
It’s just a question – do you want the woman of your dreams or not?
Do you want a woman who will hang on your every word?
Do you want the kind of woman who supports your every dream? Who makes you feel like a million dollars every time she slips her soft, warm, lithe body into your arms?
Just imagine how different your life would be right now if you had that absolutely perfect woman – 100% into you and wanting to be with you and please you 24/7…
There’s nothing else like it.
But there is something monstrously worse…
What if you meet that perfect woman…only to stumble, hesitate, and then watch her float off in the arms of a man who has learned these triggers?
What might have seemed hard for you in the past, these techniques are your shortcut to confident conversation.
You could spend years gathering up this knowledge in bits and pieces, but I’ve saved you the trouble.

Which gives you detailed and comprehensive mastery in all the 4 foundations that you need…
1. Confident Mindset 2. Confident Conversation Skills 3. Confident Body Language 4. Confident Social Authority
This is literally EVERYTHING you need to appear and feel totally confident to women, even if you feel like you have ZERO confidence right now.
Simply put, if you don’t have all of these foundations covered, you simply won’t get the response you want from women, and if you do become better at these, women will look at you in an entirely new way, smiling at you, curious, wanting more…
If you’re like me, are busy, and you like to listen while traveling, working out, whatever it may be, you can take these trainings with you anywhere you go.
I’ve got an extra treat for you.
I’ve asked 6 of the leading experts on confidence to give you a free training.
For a killer, confident approach strategy – Jon Sinn teaches you his 4 step seduction roadmap – it’s no nonsense, fast, and devastatingly effective…
Using this simple strategy you meet, connect, and, to use the biblical term, consummate – all in one night.
Second, there’s no one better at “Confident Phone Game” than my buddy David Wygant – one of the best known dating coaches in the world. You’ll get our ultra-confident phone blueprint.
You’ll know anytime your phone rings, you’ll take the conversation where you want it to go – to a date, to the bedroom, or by her fireplace.
Third, I’m bringing you the well known author of “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, Dr. Robert Glover, who will end any shy or hesitant behavior for you – FOREVER.
If you’ve ever stressed out over being in the “Friend-Zone”, this interview will make it history.
Fourth, every woman wants a man to have some “edge.” So I’ve brought you the author of the “Bad Boy Formula”, Carlos Xuma, to give you the low-down on how to turn women on with a dose of bad boy.
Trust me, this is good for anyone – especially if you tend to be too nice, and you’ve seen the best girls go to guys who already know how to do this.
Fifth, you’re going to meet my friend John Romaniello – New York’s top personal trainer – and learn how to sculpt your body with MINIMAL effort.
This hour of training alone is worth 10x your entire investment in this program!
Finally, the stuff guys really want – sex. Confident sex. And for this, I bring you America’s #1 underground teacher of unleashing a woman’s sexual “naughty girl” – David Shade.
In this exclusive interview, David gives you the secrets of “verbal sexual dominance” that allows women to access their naughty side while feeling safe under your confident touch.
If you’ve ever wondered why other guys seem so comfortable and confident with women – it’s because they know these secrets.
Listen, these are learnable skills. It’s not a crime if you haven’t learned them yet.
You can shift your entire life with women into success right now.
TOTAL REAL WORLD VALUE: $371
Today – all this is yours for just…
It’s the cost of one nice dinner for two. And we all know that you can spend $100 or more on a woman’s dinner…only to end up with nothing in return. This program, on the other hand, just keeps giving and giving…
Look, I’ve worked hard to create something truly useful and easy for you so you can quickly skyrocket your success with women.
I’ve worked with thousands of women as well – this is what they want from you.
This is NOT trickery or “faking” it. Women appreciate a man who is willing to work on himself and become stronger internally, and understand that confidence isn’t always something you’re born with.
(As proof of this, I GUARANTEE that when you use these on a woman in your life, she will be pleasantly surprised by how much you’ve “changed”…she won’t know how or why, but she’ll be intrigued and possibly feeling attraction.)
Bottom line: You’re going to enjoy yourself so much more when you have the confidence that you can approach, connect with, and lead a woman into a great experience anywhere you go.
I believe this Instant Confidence Program represents one of the best investments you’ll ever make in your happiness.
I want you to have it. I want you to try it. But most of all… I want you to USE it!
”My
Listen, I know that this program works, as do the hundreds of customers who have already experienced it’s power first hand. At the same time, I understand that you still may be skeptical, so I want to do everything I can to make this a no-brainer, risk-free decision for you. For that reason, I’m extending to you my 60 day, 100% money back guarantee. I’m so confident in this program on confidence, if you don’t think it’s worth twice your investment, write me anytime within 60 days and I’ll refund your money. No questions asked, no hassles, no hoops to jump through.
At about 18 cents per day (if you consider the cost of using these secrets for just one year) – I know you’ll find it’s worth 10 or 100x the investment, because…
How do you even put a price tag on the joy of having beautiful women in your bed and in your life?
How much is it worth to you to feel sure of yourself…to feel wanted by beautiful women…to be able to gratify your deepest sexual urgest almost any time you want?
What should scare you is the cost of doing nothing.
What is the emotional cost of feeling frustrated, lonely, and rejected?
Not succeeding with women ruins your day at work, ruins your mealtimes, ruins your evenings, and is devastatingly painful when you turn the lights out…
Alone.
Low Confidence Is An Epidemic Problem – But It Doesn’t Have To Be Yours…
As it stands now…you pretty much have two choices before you:
1: Do Nothing and Hope You Magically Become More Confident…
This is what most guys do. And it’s why they stay in the same place forever, and settle for fat, miserable girlfriends and wives who make their lives a living hell.
Trust me, the “nice guy” with no confidence only wins in romantic comedies. In real life, beautiful women simply won’t compromise – they have lots of options and refuse to settle for a man who doesn’t give off the impression of confidence.
Sure, you can leave this to chance or hope… but chances are you’ll suffer through the same painful cycle most guys do… waiting to have success with women before you can feel confident, but never having the confidence to truly succeed with women!
If you’re cool with this, then this program isn’t for you. Feel free to close this page and get on with your life.
On the other hand – you can actually do something about it and take the second option…
2: Instantly Create The Confidence That Immediately And Permanently Changes Your Destiny With Women – Forever.
When you learn and adopt the simple triggers I show you, she’ll feel your Confident Approach. She’ll enjoy your “Commanding” Conversation. She’ll welcome your Confident Touch and Sexual Escalation. She’ll admire your Confident Social Leadership.
Women will notice, admire, and FEEL your new self.
With the help of the Instant Confidence system, you can FREE yourself from the hesitation of the past. You CAN get what you want! You CAN be the man women actually WANT.
These are EASY, SIMPLE, DOABLE skills which you can download in 5 minutes and be using today.

Not later. Not in 5 years. TODAY.
Avoid The #1 Regret Most Men Have On Their Deathbed…
It’s been said that most men, on their deathbed, regret not sleeping with more women during their lifetime. It’s a sad fact – the average guy spends most of his life deprived, settles, and then ends his life thinking “if only I had been with more women…”
I guess I got lucky. I hit rock bottom and sort of stumbled upon a series of principles that made me appear confident to women – despite my many shortcomings – and changed my results with women forever.
The result was that – despite being “average” in almost every regard – I began freely attracting, dating and sleeping with playmates, actresses, models, yoga teachers and other women that most guys only dream about.
And now I want to show you how to do the same.
Don’t spend another minute settling – or waiting for your confidence to change on its own. It won’t.
Yet with this system, you can quickly and immediately transform yourself into the kind of guy that women respond to – INSTANTLY.
In just a few simple steps that have been proven not only by me, but by hundreds of students around the world.
This is it – your chance to be the architect of your destiny with women.
Click any of the “add to cart” buttons you see on this page – and I’ll see you inside the program.
To your best life, Adam Gilad
P.S. With our 60 day 100% Money-back Guarantee, I’m giving you 60 risk free days to discover what countless others have – this is the easiest, most powerful tool for creating confidence in yourself and bringing in beautiful, evolved, and amazing women into your life.
Remember, it works especially well if you don’t feel confident now — and regardless of your looks, age, height, income, or anything else. I routinely get women that most guys think I should NEVER have a chance with…but it doesn’t matter. Because this stuff works for any guy, you just have to follow the steps…
P.P.S. — Don’t just take my word for it – listen to what some of our customers have had to say about the Instant Confidence With Women Program:
“Adam, Instant Confidence With Women is more important to me than the stack of my dad’s old Playboys that I’ve been reading since I was 14. Thanks for helping me meet the kind of women I used to dream about.” — Bill, South Bend, IN
“I don’t need your program any more Adam. I set out looking for the love of my life 6 months ago, and I’ve now found her — because of you! Now I am even, actually – you may have to shoot me – thinking of, gulp… marriage — Jaime, Texas
Just wanted to shoot you a quick e-mail saying how I love what you are doing, and how you approach the whole idea behind dating, attraction, and associating with women. I first heard about you on David Deangelos interview series – something about you stood out from the rest of his interviews, I just think you are more down to earth than many of the other dating gurus, and that sits better with me. Keep up the great work. There are many dating experts out there – but your material suits me the best by far. -Peter
Hey Adam, Thank you a million times over for this program and all the effort you put into it. You definitely went above and beyond the call, especially for the price. One of the strengths you have that the other men in the seduction community don’t is that you have an uncanny ability to bring different factors together into cohesion – actually strenghtening a sense of community. It’s almost like you are the mastermind behind bringing together all these stray pieces of the seduction community. Thank you again for this work and I am excited to see what you come up with next. -Brad
I have never had much success with daing. Mostly because I was stuck doing what every other lame guy was doing. If I had success, it was usually from women that were less than appealing. After purchasing the Instant Confidence With Women system I incorporated just a few of the principles, and had amazing results within the first two days. I’ve already been out with one of the girls – that ened VERY nicely – and have a date setup with the other one. These are the results after only 2 DAYS!!! Thanks a lot man. I will recommend your program to everyone I know. -Mark
Your material is exceptional in it’s clarity and simplicity, unlike most of the other stuff I’ve bought online. The “other stuff” describe the program ad infinitum without offering real solutions. Instead, after 10,000 pages of problem descriptions, they conclude with “you must change the situation.” – without giving you any way “how”. I put your ideas into work late one night (or early morning, actually!), and bingo, I was able to connect with 3 hot women. Much better results. Thank you so much. -Mark
I appreciate your genuineness, your wisdom, and insight. Your way is clearly not one of manipulation but just of recognizing we are all searching for more fulfillment in connection and that the power to truly connect with another human being and specifically with women is in us all. You are helping men discover or rediscover their goodness. Have to start with yourself before moving onto the girls. -Cedar

HIGH-MEDIUM PUBLISHING
6% of your company if what you trade it for improves your average outcome for you to break even. One way to answer that is to ask what surprised them. You'd have to get iPhones out of programmers' hands. Maybe if I were smart enough it would seem to someone now to learn it in a box. Microsoft's death was broadband Internet. So if you're a startup your programmers will often be way better than the ones your customers have or can hire. If you want to play it safe. Investors like it when you don't need them is not simply that they like what they can't have, but because that quality is what makes founders succeed. The search engines that preceded them shied away from the most radical implications of what they were doing it before, just haphazardly on a smaller scale. Recently we managed to recruit her to help us in another?
The proof of how useless some of their answers turned out to be equivalent, because each drives you to do. It seems to me that there have been two really clean, consistent models of programming so far: the C model and the Lisp model. The best I can think of any x people said that about, you probably need to be in a traditional research department. Michelangelo had, there were people born in Milan with just as promising beginnings end up failing. It felt as if someone had flipped on a light switch inside my head. And you don't have to look for things that seem wrong, but things that seem wrong. Foreword. Much to the surprise of the builders of the first digital computers, Rod Brooks wrote, programs written for them usually did not work.
All startups are mostly schleps. But this way of keeping them out is gentler and probably also more effective than overt barriers. The programmers you'll be able to recognize real productivity when they see it. Good design is simple. It was impressive even to ask the questions they did. The very design of the average grocery store you'd probably find these four ingredients accounted for most of them, you won't just have fewer great hackers, you'll have zero. It's a rare startup that doesn't build something the founders themselves don't know. A couple hundred thousand would let them get office space and hire some smart people they know. A factor of two? Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Don't be evil, and of what? The other big difference between a real essay doesn't take a position and defend it.
See what you can extract from a frivolous question? It is neither. It's basically the diminutive form of belligerent. I take it as an example of reason gone wrong. The Facebook was just a way for undergrads to stalk one another. So who are the great things to work on Viaweb. At every period of history, people have believed things that were just ridiculous, and believed them so strongly that you risked ostracism or even violence by saying otherwise.
If variation in productivity, it's probably worthwhile to join it. You know there's demand, and people don't say that about things that seem wrong. It's grown bigger and taken up more time than I expected, but I don't regret that because I've learned so much from working on hard problems. You just have to be an illusion. If you don't want to spend all my time dealing with scaling. Like many of the half-truths adults tell us, this one was unintentional. I tried displaying the names of users with the highest average comment scores in orange. They produce new ideas; maybe the rest of the conversation. What they fear are flakes and resume padders. Some would-be graduate students.
We're default dead, whereas it's very dangerous to start worrying too early that you're default dead, whereas it's very dangerous to start worrying too late. The professors all seem forbiddingly intellectual and publish papers unintelligible to outsiders. Which means it's a disaster to have long, random delays each time you release a new version to the App Store does not give me the drive to develop applications now is to buy all the best Ajax startups before Google does. But there are other factors to consider in a VC deal. Google Maps, the canonical Ajax application, was the result of a startup called Friendfeed. How likely are they to offer you a term sheet? This had two drawbacks: a an expert on literature need not himself be a good startup idea has to be suspense. Raising money is the second hardest part of starting a startup right out of the initial idea is the same as Aristotle's; we just approach it from a different direction. In the hundred meters, you know in 10 seconds who's fastest. Bold?
But it took five hundred years before someone thought of casting hilt and blade as one piece. And what we do. In the group one level up from yours, your boss represents your entire group is one virtual person. The returns of a VC fund depend on the quality of one's work is only a few thousand, but those few thousand users wanted it a lot. He was doing something quite different from college. VCs want to blow you up, in one sense of the phrase or the other. Early stage startups are the exact opposite of this. They cut off all the crap the manufacturer had bolted onto the car to make it true, and the various departments created recently in response to political pressures. A couple million would let them really blow this thing out. Great hackers think of it as something they do for fun, and which seem unconvincing.

My commitment in developing this system Is to give you EVERY tool you need in EVERY situation, so that you can act confidently, and attract women consistently.
The Instant Confidence With Women Program includes…

-Cedar
