I hear a lot of talk about how Hollywood isn't comfortable with showing romantic relationships, interracial or otherwise, without a white person involved. But I'm not sure that fans are actually comfortable with that either? And I don't think they're comfortable without a significant white (white male specifically) presence in their favorite genre shows.

#i'm not trying to start drama but i'm hearing some takes on gen v twitter that are making me not know how to feel rn...#like we have a show that doesn't go out of its way to center white men too much and yet i sense they wish they would do it more #and like #why?#because the combo of cate emma and sam can literally do the job of whatever new white character they think would add something to the cast #if you need a nice white character to be a man for whatever reason then maybe watch the boys? you'd probably like it. i do.#dm me if you're curious i guess but again i don't want drama and i don't want to automatically think the worst of people

DP x DC Prompt: Delayed Reactions

Danny's powers didn't activate all at once after going into the Ghost Portal, in fact they hadn't even fully realized what happened for months. They assumed the change in appearance was just their eyes adjusting to the flashing because of how quickly it appeared then vanished again. But, as more things started happening to Danny and started changing, Danny couldn't help but wonder if maybe his accident had resulted in more than a permanent star that ran up his left arm to his heart.

He didn't tell Sam or Tucker though, after all Meta-Humans were so rare that there was no way they would believe him! Plus, if he told them then it would only be a matter of time before more people knew. So, he kept it to himself.

Which worked until Summer Break when Danny went to Gotham with his parents and Jazz for a Ghost Hunting Exp. Danny had no interest in 'Ghost Hunting' (though he had begun to do more of it after he realized that he could kind of sense and see the ghosts), so instead of listening to the expo he was going around learning more and more about the city. Gotham had some amazing other exhibits, an observatory, museums with huge space displays, and more interesting things than Ghosts.

Plus, it had the highest population of heroes!

Danny didn't expect that his second day in Gotham would end up so differently from the first one. It all started with a little girl about nine who had been crossing the street when chaos broke loose. An explosion on the next block rocked the entire city, causing Danny's skin to crawl, but what mad him sick was the fact that the explosion had thrown a car directly towards the little girl and a crowd of people.

Everybody else scattered, including the woman the girl had been walking with who seemed to forget her in an instant as they got out of the way of the car. But the little girl didn't move, just started terrified at the approaching car.

"Get out of the way!" People shouted to the girl, but unlike the rest of them Danny's instincts were screaming one thing.

Protect.

Danny ran forward as quickly as his legs could manage as he tried to beat gravity itself. Danny made it to the girl without a second to spare, wrapping her into a hug.

"Please work, please work, please work!" Danny thought, struggling to get his powers to work as he felt himself turn intangible with the girl turning intangible with him.

No sooner did his powers kick in did the car slam into the ground where they were standing before it bounced and rolled down the street, leaving a dent around the two of them but leaving both Danny and the girl untouched.

Danny let his power drop, as the girl looked at him for a second before she burst into tears and hugged him. Danny's vision swam as he hugged her back, fixing her hair.

"I gotcha, you're okay..." Danny told her, then let her go as the woman who had left her in the street called her.

The girl sniffled, then ran to the woman as Danny tried to stand. He could hear people talking, cheering and some were even applauding but it all sounded really far away. He could also hear another car approaching, but as his vision faded and his body felt as though it was filled with led nothing felt important anymore.

The Bats had tried to race to get to the civilians before the car hit them and had failed. Thankfully, the majority of people had managed to get out of the way to a safe distance but there was a little girl still in the road. None of them wanted to see the girl die, but they knew realistically they couldn't make it to her.

But somebody did.

No sooner did the stranger save the girl and let her go did they collapse into the middle of the street.

Suddenly it was no longer 'save civilians from a car that got partially blown up in Penguins newest scheme' but 'get the unknown Meta out of the street before his face was exposed to every media outlet throughout the city'.

Are we ever going to talk about how The Marauders fandom is physically unable to like a character unless they're flawless

this is kinda a rant so if your sensitive don't read but i've been seeing a pattern recently

like for example:

The headcannon that Sirius lost all of his friends and regretted the prank when in cannon nobody gave a shit apart from Snape

The headcannon that Mary obliviated herself turning into Dumbledore obliviating Mary. I swear people started noting how selfish it could be to erase the memories of your friends who died in a war and leave their orphaned son so the fandom had to change the headcannon so that Mary doesn't do it but Dumbledore does cause god forbid one of these characters actually does something shitty on their own accord

Any idea of Regulus, Barty or Evan going to Dumbeldore for help and Dumbledore rejecting them. Dumbledore would've jumped on having another Death Eater spy for him. When have we ever seen him turn anyone down???

Literally anything relating to Regulus Barty and Evan being forced to do things

I literally once saw somebody say "what if the only reason why Barty was with Bellatrix was because they were having a memorial for Regulus and he was innocent the entire time"

Any kind of excuse that people give for Remus marrying and impregnating Tonks only to run the moment responsibility crops up

Calling misogyny whenever a female character is a villain in a fic or whenever Lily or Tonks are bad mothers (i've talked about this before but fanfiction does not equal headcannons and just because Lily or Tonks or anyone is a bad parent in a fic or is villaised doesn't mean that the writer doesn't like the character or sees them as a bad person)

Ignoring that Evan was friends with Snape, Mulciber, Avery and Wilkes while at Hogwarts (people the fandom villainies)

Any excuse that anyone comes up with for what James and Sirius did in Snapes worst memory

i could go on and on but my point is that nearly every character in the marauders era that we have information on is in some way morally grey and i am so sick of seeing people excuse their actions or coming up with far fetched headcannons to make them more "likeable" I LIKE THEN FUCKED UP A LITTLE STOP MAKING THEM SO BORING

#like in fanfics i don't care do whatever you want #but headcannons are supposed to add onto cannon not replace it #and it's soooooo annoying to see y'all strip away these characters like this #I DONT EVEN LIKE THE MARY OBLIVIATING HERSELF HC #BUT I DESPISE DUMBLEDORE DOING IT #cause what does it do??? other then give this fandom another fake reason to hate a character we don't like anyway #the marauders #harry potter #the marauders era #marauders

#galarian slowpoke #picture this. this was the first pokémon revealed from the new DLCs for pokémon sword and shield. the pokémon company #up until this point‚ has never done DLC for a pokémon game before. you‚ having been jaded by shitty DLCs for other games in the past #now have a distaste for the phrase‚ and imagine this can't be good. then‚ in their teaser for the new DLC‚ they add a little event #into the game where they reveal one of the new pokémon that is going to be added in the DLC #and it is a galarian form. that is identical to the original pokémon. but with a yellow head #are you imagining it. now how fucking disappointed are you. how little faith do you have in that DLC that it's going to be as good as it wa #for the most part‚ the pokémon company has demonstrated that they do absolutely excellent DLCs. proper expansions #basically an entire other game on top of the game you already have. and they typically take up the release cycle of a full game #scarlet/violet's especially. WONDERFUL dlc. i never really properly finished the crown tundra just because i was so late to the party #because i avoided buying the dlc for so long because of this experience that i've just described to you #that by the time i bought it and played it‚ it was just because SV had been announced and i wanted more pokémon to tide me over #and i never finished it. one of these days‚ i'd like to go back and finish it‚ but i'm playing through pokémon xd gale of darkness right no #and i prefer to play. one game at a time. and i don't know when i'll ever really get back to it #or if i'll ever get back to it! quick like 3 hour thing to sate my desire to see Narinder But As A Bishop. i tried to emulate the game style as much as possible, and i used shamura and heket as the primary references for the robe design

Like, not only do you understand yourself well enough to self identify your gender outside of what was assigned at birth, but you're creative and have enough self understanding to literally make up a new term that didn't exist before? That's some fantastic Shakespeare level shit.

Y'all are literally visionaries and people don't give you enough credit. It's so fucking amazing whenever people are literally able to find a term that they relate to despite the fact that that term is rare and has barely been talked about before.

Y'all are literally trailblazers and you are a vital part of the LGBTQIA+ community. MOGAI and neo identities are what are able to keep our community evolving to be more inclusive and just better for everyone in it.
