I miss socializing with friends. Ever since covid I kinda lost the will to reconnect with anyone I used to know. It seems hard to do for some reason. Too forced. I feel different somehow. Like I’d have to reintroduce myself like a blind date.

I’m slowly realizing one of my professors (who I’m presently working for, he’s not in my major which makes me feel,,,, so damn jaded) may be someone who makes me want to teach college level psychology (specifically a better version of the history of the field because seriously there’s people outside of Europe who did better work for the field as it stands today who are missed completely and glossed over in the class I’m taking, half (if not more, there’s quite literally the one good one, bless him, plus the lady who I took online she was great too her class was literally called death and dying it was AWESOME, plus the grad students I took but one real prof who’s good who I’ve had lectures with) the profs in my field hate their jobs clearly, and have a massive superiority complex, and I only figured this out because of one guy who taught space so good I decided to apply as a learning assistant for him, like I should’ve minored in his subject (without the yknow physics, but apparently there was one, fuck me I guess) cause the professors in that department, they ACTUALLY LIKE THEIR JOB AND FIELD OF STUDY AND CAN SHARE INFORMATION WITHOUT PUNCHING DOWN

#like I still adore clinical psych #which is fancy for therapist work #but eventually I may want to teach college level if that’s feasible for me #the one good psych prof (god bless his soul he’s the one good one who’s not an exceedingly old white man who hates children/young adults) #was in the field I wanna be in albeit with geriatrics and veterans #not my bag #but his interest in clinical work is palpable #he loved doing that before he went to teaching #his research is so interesting because he likes it #required courses that don’t involve any of the actual highlights of a history #need to be torn down and rebuilt #why the FUCK do we not hit up the humanist psychologists? today they have gone a step further. by releasing this year's trick-or-treat bags. and having the trick-or-treat bags be stuffed to the brim with unbelievably fucking rare stamps, weapons, paint brushes, defense magic, and other unbuyables. jellyneo, the premier neopets website, has recorded prices of some items plummeting from 2,000,000 neopoints to 4,000 neopoints IN THE LAST THREE HOURS. this is when most people haven't even heard about the event or OPENED THEIR BAGS YET.

and of course. cherry on top. 20-year-old account holders are crytyping on the site events neoboard about how mean and cruel it is to make rare stamps part of the prize pool, because their entire identity hinges on being part of the neopian bourgeoisie, and they are having MELTDOWNS over their assets being devalued until they're part of the lowly proletariat.
