I miss socializing with friends. Ever since covid I kinda lost the will to reconnect with anyone I used to know. It seems hard to do for some reason. Too forced. I feel different somehow. Like I’d have to reintroduce myself like a blind date.

I dunno. I should most likely finesse this a bit and focus more on the positive aspects…just for self preservation/manifestation purposes. After all, you attract what you focus on, and how you perceive it. So, who knows? Maybe I’ll get back out there someday. 👍🤷‍♀️💓

The thing I discover in reading older books I'd that I so want to read thr modern books in conversation with this one. How does or doesn't this apply now? How has our understanding changed? Do these arguments still hold? How do sexism, racism, etc that were ignored then interact with the messages?

can you imagine Kang Yohan having to literally learn how to be so charismatic though

we see him as a child and no one liked him even before he killed a bird with a cleaver (why did he have that with him???). he clearly knew how to manipulate people but he was still a social leper. when we see him at the church before the fire, he clearly doesn't fit in and isn't attempting to do so. he's not even inside or dressed well.

yet by the time the current timeline starts he has all the people there that day convinced that he fits in and is on their side. can you imagine the fucking learning curve he must have drug himself through?

hallo I just finished re-reading 'how to win friends and influence people' and i have to ask, did Isabel really have some sort of romantic feelings for cadmus or was that completely his narcissism talking? because their dynamic is so so interesting and funny to me lol they were evil bestfriends

i also finished the atlas complex last night and it was SO GOOD. (i'm slightly obsessed w your books at the moment can you tell)
