So uh, im not seeing it anywhere. I know one reporter got arrested -im fairly certain- for trying to cover it but is anyone else in the northeastern US area concerned, or know about the train derailment in ohio? The one carrying a few different chemicals in train cars some of which were carrying vinyl chloride which is a toxic carcinogen thats gonna go in the water table and also cause acid rain a bit doen the line? That no one is allowed talking about and pets in that town have dropped dead from and people are getting sick and non government scientists are saying pelple within a 200 mile radius should be worried and its inly gonna get worse and its worse than chernobyl actually?

Bc everyone said the railway strike was just for days off but it was also for safety regulations that were taken out and gotten rid of going into effect this year and thereve been a few train derailments actually and a truck (somewhere i dont remember its a lot please look things up im just trying to feel things out here) tipped and spilled chemicals into a creek. But everyones too worried about aliens that werent even there and have been proven the 90% of the balloons werent real it really was probably just a distraction. And uh, no ones doing anything to contain the chemicals. Bc theres nothing really to do now that its done. And you could see that fire from space. And there was another in florida you could also see from space.

Interesting fact I think you didn't know (and which I've learned from my chemistry teacher that worked in different branches of the industry his entire life):

Czech people are kind of radiation resistant because we literally live on radioactive soil (the entire country is filled with uranium. When Marie Sklodowska Curie discovered radiation, she was using Czech uranium).

And that's also why we handled the Chernobyl radiation so well - we're used to it and basically immune to it.

Chemistry behind painting pigment (1)

Paris green (copper(II) acetate triarsenite or copper(II) acetoarsenite) is an arsenic-based organic pigment. It is named after being used to kill rats in the sewers of Paris. Because of its bright color and low price, Paris green was a popular pigment in the early 19th century when its toxicity was not found. It was widely used in clothing, candles, and wallpaper.

Painters such as Monet, Cezanne, and Van Gogh often used paris green as the pigment in their works. In the 1980s, the biochemistry department of the University of Glasgow examined Napoleon's body and found that he may die from arsenic poisoning. In the past, the green wallpaper used by the aristocracy was dyed with arsenic dyes such as Paris green. This is one of the hypotheses of how Napoleon died.

picking top 10 tmbg songs is still hard, but I do think "I love you for psychological reasons" Has to be up there. I loveee these descriptions of trying to rationalise the concept of attraction, I was completely into it from the opening lines of "lately I've taken to vacantly making repetitive movements, mistakenly seen as improvements," the rhymes in general are extremely satisfying, and I'm a hugeee sucker for love and romance and such being approached in this more subtle, slightly repressed, scientifically-minded manner.

I love that it's a take on the song "I love you for sentimental reasons" (nat king cole best version btw), which was written about the surface emotion of being in love, while this tries to dig into the chemical reasons of - why? why do our brains fall in love the way that they do? but at the same time, it seems as though narrator doesn't want to overanalyse the experience too much and almost spoil the magic of affection. that's why they don't want to get into the reasons. maybe they're afraid that if they pick it apart too much, they'll lose that attraction, so they pull back.

in some ways, it feels like a counterpart to the insecurity of "she's an angel," whose neurotic narrator sounds like they're in a perpetual state of waiting for the other shoe to drop in a good relationship, because their partner is just too damn perfect to the point of deifying them. like, how could she Possibly be with Me?? this woman's an angel?? is this a mistake, do they know she's missing? also god I just now realised as I was writing this - that song's entire theme is a deconstruction of sappy pick-up lines like "did it hurt when you fell from heaven / heaven must be missing an angel" isn't it. sorry, talking about "psychological reasons" kinda got away from me here.

Hi! Louis rocked last night! Do you know what was so special about the post malone song?

like why did Louis pick it? I mean obviously I/ we can't know, and I assume he likes the song for starters (he followed Post Malone on insta a couple years ago, for what it's worth). And him and the band were able to make it work, it sounded great in the set and sounded great with his voice, so he must have seen that potential in it. But the lyrics are wild for Louis to be singing and the fact that they echo like half of his songs and pretty much all his other covers in theme makes it pretty hard not think that's why, that it is a song that grabbed him and resonated with him, or at minimum that it being so parallel to KMM was a factor. Also I think he likes being a little daring and getting to sing explicit stuff and being like ooooh I'm really not in a teen pop boyband anymore I can do songs about getting my brains fucked out (not that he ever let that stop him😂). Plus as @goldcrumble pointed out, the nod to Seven Nation Army (the song that the crowd chant to him in latam especially and they've teased covering) in the lyrics is hilarious, it wouldn't be our SBB Louis if he did something simple and unlayered without a clever little extra, bless him🥰 (lyrics under the cut)
