Yellow, they say, is associated with amusement, happiness, humor. Spontaneity — as his magic always holds. 

But yellow is also duplicity, jealousy. Envy. 

He watches Thalassa and Zak whisper to each other, the way she stares at him with so much love in her beautiful eyes. What he wouldn’t give to have her look his way like that.

Valant clears his throat. Remedy, ritual, regret. “Rehearsal?”

They nod, though not without another kiss stolen, laden with tenderness. He grits his teeth.

They take their places, and with Zak in his vision, Valant raises his gun.

I was really suprised to find out just how much concept art there is just for Valant Gramarye versus the Troupe. I mean, Magnifi and Zak have one page each (and these pages are not exactly Overloaded with Pictures). Thalassa has no concept art of her Gramarye outfit, just some color-studies for her Lamiroir outfit. Meanwhile Valant has four-full pages of sketches!

I guess that probably means that Valant was designed first and then the rest of the Troupe was based on what would compliment his design?

troupe gramarye is soooo funny. theyre all insane and horrifically mentally ill and they all just hate each other. i just know reus told zak and valant their mothers buy them mega blox instead of legos. i just know thalassa and valant would beat each other over the head with metal pipes. sibling core. i just know that zak and thalassa were insufferable to be around. they go to ikea showrooms and pretend to be a toxic married couple. the entire troupe all fight eachother with their stupid magic props. reus has shot valant with an arrow more than once. zak and valant fight each other for the sexual tension of it and have gotten into a homoerotic swordfight multiple times. thalassa is aware of this and thinks its funny. she and reus have lunch every week where they just spend time bitching. magnifi killed himself bc of these mfs i swear

When I first played AA4, I wondered why Valant didn't try and take custody of Trucy.

But then I realized after playing through the final case, the answer was obvious.

If Valant tried to formally adopt Trucy, then the authorities might look a little bit closer into his background. And Valant might be found out for his role in the accident that caused Thalassa's disappearance (and possible death.) There's also the performance rights to think about. If Zak isn't in the picture and Trucy isn't his adopted daughter, Valant gets to inherit the Gramarye legacy and keep it all to himself, which perfectly aligns with his character motivation.
