Addie got a complete redesign!! I leaned more towards the 1880’s-1900s dresses and clothing cause that was her build date even though she “died” in the late 1950’s-early 60s. ‘The classic gold dust holeless eyes and tears the cracks on her skin. Lily is going through a HUGE change. Lately, I haven't been satisfied with her character or... anything about her. I wanted to make her as interesting as the others but I wasn't really able to achieve that. So I left her to my sister and she's going through a makeover.

Pretty Polly (thinks she's different because she stays inside and fawns over trains and doesn't go to parties & date but she's actually just trying to pls conservatives)

Blinky Bonny (polly's old sensitive cousin. thas all I have lol)

“98462” (alfie's twin brother whom his father adopted to replace alfred. edward and him have a horrible relationship.)

Tiffany (works too hard and is friends with RYAN thas all I have for now lol)

Theodosius “Theo” (sings survive the night and likes FNAF— wait what am I saying- the Bruno of the e2's and Timothy hates him so so much)

Andreas (his faces is as badly damaged as big Mickey's who he wears a mask- i didn't say he was any better than him- lives with duncan rent free (oh Duncan hates it)

Diesel 5 (his history with the Scottish twins is rather... interesting....)

Thoughts on 'Duncan gets spooked'

Also have you watched WildNorWester's adaptation series? Adeline the phantom engine.

Needed more fog!

Or more shadows? Idk. I'm a real spoilsport. I know this episode is beloved—and I'm fine with it, overall!—but I do think they could have done more with the set to create a spooky atmosphere than to just use the usual night lights. Compare and contrast Clearwater 😤

Still, it's very nice to look at and I love the character work with Duncan. He is 100% the kind of guy to scoff at the idea of ghosts and then to get spooked. That's him. In RWS Mr Plain-Spoken is remarkably soft-hearted and susceptible to stories.

I do have some mild complaints about the other characters, though. Did we need another story where Rusty is the smart and perfect one? I'd have loved if their role in this story had been given to Duke or even Sir Handel—"you're going to have a go at our Stuart? well then prepare to be slapped down, punk." They could have even used Duke just for the scene where Duncan is told the story—he'd be stationary the whole time so it wouldn't matter if (as I assume) the model wasn't running well!

Thinking about how Adeline never actually saw the sun, the moon or even the stars for over 44 years being trapped under the bridge and submerged underwater, despite her prayers of being found fading away, she could never even look up at the sky and that would’ve completely shattered her if it wasn’t for her hopeful determination and her limbo abilities she gained over time. Just, oh gosh the feels.

Adeline’s alternate designs when she was a oil burner and before her accident: (with some minor changes, hope that alright)

1. Canon Design in Sodor: The Modern Years, SKR/RWS red, she’s not red in my au for a numbers of reasons but let me add the og color palette here.

2. It’s a proposed TVS livery from a comment from Wildnorwester: “Khaki green-she is ex-military.” I got the green tones from SplendidEngine02 on DA. She’ll probably wear this before her accident as a reward for her first year.

3. MOD Livery when she first arrived to work there(here she was privately bought by the MOD, not the SKR, thus they hardly saw her and the Beetles. Got the colors and idea from MrTerrier673 on Twitter), she scruffy and not likely.

I was gotta do her along with Godred, their accidents but had no idea how to do that so I left it like this, same goes with their scars. I’ll add them in another drawing soon.

Next up we have Godred!!

When he was younger, a bit more snobby, conceited and reckless before his accident. He’s smug and judging- i love both so much, I’ll draw more and add more spirits lore and in love stuff very soon!! 💜❤️👋

Some younger Adeline doodles, I like to think she was more optimistic and was a bit more carefree in her youth before losing that as she got older. Also bed head Addy my beloved ❤️♥️ Also I rarely draw furious Adeline (here’s its humanoid au and I adore the headcanon of steam engines breathing out smoke when angry so here it is) and even then it’s like tranquil fury in canon so like-let the girl go off she deserves it (She gives Stanley, Geoffrey and Peter a run for their money and RIP to anybody facing her wrath)

Been thinking of narrow gauge for a while, after learning more about Little Barford and Narrow Gauge Sidney plus after reading some head-canons on them, I thought I’ll try doing some first human versions of them! (I only found out about the first two recently and I adore 🥰💜💙🥺)

Just quick sketches of them, plus a mini Fred thinking about Adeline. He has a huge crush on her (who wouldn’t she’s super supportive and understanding and helps boost Fred’s confidence) and always works his hardest when she’s around, which she compliments and praises on, much to his delight and joy.

SPIRIT AND CRITTER FRIENDS!

  HEY HEY HEY BEEN AWHILE!

  Haven’t posted much art of much of my au so I thought I’ll start sharing some friendly ghosts and their animal companions, featuring  some quick doodles of Adeline and Kyle (plus mini godred cameo!!) I’ll post more details on them all later but for now, let’s get to it!

Adeline the Phantom Engine

🌙 adeline befriends a owl better known as the wise old owl that hoots when a fog is coming, the owl has been around for years, outlasting many events throughout the history of time (adeline’s story is slightly different here since shes bought by the mod not the skr)

🌙adeline was very grateful for his company during her 43 years alone after her accident, yes other animals like fish, bugs, amphibians and the occasion squirrel came to her when she was trapped under the bridge and stones

🌙 yet Cornelius has come and visited her as she pleases and she enjoys having his company around even if dont speak the same language

🌙 like Kyle, Cornelius tries his utter hardest to help adeline not just help others in need as a ghost trapped in limbo, but also guide others to her location to save her decaying yet still alive and in a huge amount of pain and agony body 

🌙 even after Adeline’s rescue and restoration, Cornelius comes and goes as he pleases with Adeline’s new life on the Estate Railway, he has his own perch and bed near Adeline’s engine and her place with Godred

🌙 he has a tendency to stare at everyone, especially at godred. Who often feels intimidated since Cornelius never attacks him just stares at him judgmentally (yes I ship Godred X Adeline fight me) Cornelius just wants to make sure Adeline is safe

Kyle (Proteus)

🪔 after his sudden death, Kyle was alone as he could no longer be seen or heard from the mortal realm as seen in his episode (main inspiration) where he desperately tried to communicate with Stanley

🪔despite this, he remained optimistic and hopeful, still determined to bring some luck and joy and not wallow in his own sorrow and despair

🪔after following stanley after he arrived on the msr after being brought on sodor by sir topham and went around bringing good luck, he noticed a couple of fireflies around his lamp at night 

🪔still determined to talk to anyone at this point and that he loved fireflies when he was young, kyle tried to communicate with them by blinking his lamplight, to his overjoyed surprise, they responded back

🪔 Kyle happily talked with them though was sad yet understanding when it was daylight but to his excitement, they came back again and every night from then on, there were more fireflies when he was near the msr and skr cause of Stanley

🪔Currently has a million of them and counting, he gave them names like Blaze, Sparky but also Dawn, Twilight and Sunbeam and they’re all his little helpers and assistants, warning him of any danger or to others like Duncan and Stanley (Adeline also helped warn him though but she unintentionally frightened them)

🪔He refuses to put them at risk, he might've given them all some of his magic, his soul after the first time unknowlying giving them a mini power boost like being immortal and brightly enough to illuminate through darkness and fog 

🪔He can control them and use them to communicate(think Duncan gets spooked along with Adeline cause they adore her), something he refuses to do since he can completely understand them and refuses to harm them at all so they do the work for him

🪔Speaking of which, ever since he saw the lamp to help get rid of his jinx, Stanley and others began to notice how whenever he would do late night work, fireflies tend to be around him and his engine, sometimes even landing on him or following him about, Stanley lets it happen cause they remind him of kyle

🪔Kyle knows all of their names and can tell them all apart, and is very protective of them, is devastated if he loses them, just how he’s terrified if Stanley would ever become withdrawn and closed off towards the world once again, he loves them all very much

Adeline for what was suppose to be my narrow guage chainsaw man au I had months planned ago but never thought it out initial now. But this does count as a ghost thing as well so either way is fine:

she’s the famine devil but she’s is more of a wandering nomad/cryptic who lives in the forest and is seen as a witch if someone ever finds her (she’s a recluse after a accident that nearly killed her and hasn’t had any contacts for 90 years since despite people searching for her as she’s the famine devil so far only one of the current horsemen to not died as of now)

her current fellow devils lucy(death devil) and Stanley(msr control devil) tend to visit her as much as they can despite her secluded residence due to her being literally out of bones, she’s always starving no matter how much she eats and they worry that she’ll neglect herself thanks to her loss of memories

Smudger’s a fiend who works under her despite not having a contract or anything she hates Adam (war devil) like her fellow horsemen and she’s might make her first contact with ivo Hugh much to her horror
