now what i really love about bad blood (besides everything else about bad blood) is how EXPRESSIVE scully is when we see her in mulder-vision. maybe because they're so in tune, maybe because he's a phenomenal profiler, maybe because he loves her. he just sees through all of the guards she puts up so easily
like this is what he sees whenever shes not chewing him out

idk why but the trope where character a changes the routine or something in the daily life of character b and character b complains and gets annoyed at the new addition and then suddenly one day character a gets genuinely upset and stops doing said thing which then makes character b all ☹️wheres the thing i miss the thing but has to pretend they want it back and is only doing it for character a’s sake when we all see its just them being in love or whatever is something i fucking LOVE to see?? every time???

i also think it's ooc for all might to keep a neutral stance when it comes to endeavor it doesn't make sense but then again it absolutely does make sense for one supercop to pretend he doesn't see another supercop be a domestic abuser

it's taken me so long to consider making a dent in my "To Watch" list of anime specifically that i don't remember a SINGLE detail about 80% of the things on the list; not what prompted their inclusion to begin with, or even their logo or what it looks like, but rather than re-evaluate them i'll just leave the titles on the list and go in on them totally blind, when i do. which will be soon! i think!
i'll be pretty absent for june; my birthday is the 5th, and i've been planning for awhile now to go on a casual trip for a couple weeks as a treat to myself both bc i Need to make up for over a decade of self-neglect at this point. i don't want to fly in a plane, so i'll be riding a train, which means basically two days of travel to my destination while on said train, so i will binge some shows and movies bc like. not much else to do, huh!
i could be writing instead but i will ignore the shoulder entity that will be bringing that up constantly

Buffy has totally ruined me for any other show. Because in Buffy there are consequences to things. And I feel like few shows actually give the characters lasting, realistic consequences to things that they have to deal with. It's all a rush to solve everything before they have to move on to the next season's plot.
In Buffy, for example, when Willow went Dark Witch and almost killed everyone and destroyed everything, she had to deal with the consequences next season. Her character is affected in a very tangible way by what happened. And so are all the other characters around her, with regards to her. And they all have to get used to each other again and work through it. The show dedicates time to deal with what happened and for the characters to get through it. Because it matters! It matters to the character arcs, to the story, and to the viewers! We WANT to see the consequences and the aftermath and how characters are dealing with things! Not only because that's where the "juice" is in the show, but also because it helps us deal with our own shit in some way. Like, it's cathartic, I guess.
We want to see the aftermath, because it was a very dramatic, huge thing that happened and we want to see the characters recovering from it; we don't want the show to skip over it.
Then there are other shows where the characters deal with massive, insanely dark things, and then next season they're totally over it because that's last season's plot... It's like they can't "dwell" on last season's plot except for a throwaway line or two because they have to move on to the next big bad...
No! I want to see how it affected the characters!! Don't you see that's where the juice is?? I WANT to see how the characters are dealing and getting through what happened! I want to see consequences and how characters heal!! I want to see them changed by their experiences for better or worse.
Yeah. Buffy totally made me expect other shows to give that kind of attention to detail to their characters and their personal arcs.

tbh what kills me about this whole Rings of Power mess is that, if they had just done this RIGHT they would have had a home run hit. Every Tolkien fan I know would have watched it and made art and fic and bought merchandise and urged their friends and family to watch it! It would be the lotr movies again. It would have hit like the first couple of MCU movies were. It would have been ADORED.
But they chose to cheap out on EVERYTHING and to CHANGE everything to make it ‘sexy’, chose to have their stuntworkers perform dangerous stunts with not enough safety equipment, chose to take beloved characters like Elrond and Galadriel and Celebrimbor and twist them into barely recognizable caricatures... I would be here all day if i tried to list all the things wrong in the short clips we’ve gotten.
It’s gonna fail, and they paved the road themselves. We could have had it all, but instead we got Amazon.
