#this was not one of my deliveries but god. people. #i did get stuck in the snow and have to have my mom's boyfriend come push me out with his truck #and the next order i took i barely made it up the slight incline to get back up the street #i was already supposed to have gone home anyway so after the other order i had at the same time (which had three fucking 2l sodas by the wa #y) i got to go home #do you think there's always someone with a truck on shift? do you think we're not out here just casually sliding all over in our cars? #also SHOVEL YOUR FUCKING WALKWAY jesus christ #catch me hopping between someone else's footprints in at least 6 inches of snow up to a completely dark house that i am going to get my car #stuck leaving for all of seven dollars #people felt more bad for us working short hours on christmas eve than having to drive on their fucking unplowed streets all day #AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA #it's not gonna be above freezing until fucking wednesday i am TIRED OF THIS

This was all overnight!! Insane!! #It was very therapeutic to shove Reigen into the snow pile. May do again

And why did they call a second snow day...aka remote learning day?

#Because...legitimately none of the road cameras show anything but snow. And no one wants to drive in that. #Plus most of our kids live in real rural areas so getting buses down steep curved and unplowed/unsalted roads are impossible #and because the wind conditions would be hazardous to their little lives #also those camera shots span a range of 30ish miles west to east.

We had many hours of pellet like ice, thankfully not freezing rain like the counties south of us are getting. Still shit to drive in. Unfortunately people take the advice to “travel slow on ice and snow” a little too seriously and travel exceptionally slowly to the point of becoming a hazard.

Some advice: If you can find a place to do so, please practice getting to the verge of losing control of your vehicle. I’m not saying go off freewheeling until you actually wreck, just find the point where you can feel yourself needing to regain control. Find an empty road or parking lot and slip around a bit in the slush and snow and ice. Turn a little too fast, get an idea of what it feels like to slide, to lose too much traction, train yourself to coast and steer and ride out a bad spot. It’ll be scary and nerve-racking to do, but if you practice it once in a while it becomes less of white knuckle experience when you have no choice but to drive in shit weather.

#i dislike being stuck behind someone driving entirely too slowly in the only clear lane #because traffic backs up behind them and creates tailgating conditions when tailgating is a very bad idea #so i usually end up driving through the shitty unplowed lanes to get around them and away from them
