1. What’s your favourite sims death?

- Tbh I haven’t seen a lot of different ones in my game, I’d like to see the one by meteorite and by bunny or chicken. I don’t know if a chicken can kill, but I heard about the bunnies.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

- Maxis Match. I’ve never tried Alpha hairs, but I used some alpha closes before.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

- No. I try not to use cheats at all.

4. Do you use move objects?

- I have a Better Build Buy mod, and it let’s you easily turn it on and off. I always turn it on when downloading from the gallery. I’m not a builder, but I use it sometimes when decorating, because it’s beyond me why can’t a put a painting on the wall if there’s a yoga mat on the floor!

5. Favorite mod?

- It’s a hard one! I love mods and use a lot of them. But I must say that I can’t play without More Columns mod. Even when I play vanilla. Because two rows is not enough.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

- My game was 🏴‍☠️ for several years. Then I switched to the light side, and the first pack that I got was Cats and Dogs.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

- I think like aLIVE. But tbh I don’t think I pronounce it in English, since it’s not my native languge.

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

- Hmm. I still think about a sim I made in I think early 2019 when I first found out about mods and CC. And she was my test sim to try out all these mods and CC. I didn’t have a blog back then. I also didn’t know about the tab mode back then.

9. Have you made a simself?

- No. I wanted to, but knowing my CAS skills she won’t look anything like me.

10. What sim traits do you give yourself?

- Socially awkward, cat lover and gloomy.

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color?

- The white blonde. One of the new swatches that were added.

12. Favorite EA hair?

- Hmm. I’d say a medium straight one and the half bun one.

13. Favorite life stage?

- Young adult, and also infants and toddlers.

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

- I can’t build 😭 I am a gameplay simmer.

15. Are you a CC creator?

- I think so, yes. I do recolours.

16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad?

- Yes! I won’t name anyone, because I am afraind I will forget someone, but I do have simblr friends. Not a squad though.

17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4)

- 3 was my favourite for a long time, I still played it when Sims 4 was out for several years. But right now I ca’t imagine going back to 3. I really like the cartoony style of Sims 4.

18. Do you have any sims merch?

- No

19. Do you have a YouTube for sims?

- No. I once was very eager to make one! I even made a banner for the channel. And recorded a video. But when it was time to record a voice over, I realised that it’s not for me. I am too socially awkward. I was too nervous to even record myself, even though I was home alone 🤦‍♀️

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?

- I don’t think it changed tbh. I have a same face syndrome, so all my sims look a like.

21. What’s your Origin ID?

- I don’t use my legal one amymore, because EA decided they don’t want my money (they don’t sell their games in my country anymore). So I made a new one, donwloaded a free base game and 🏴‍☠️ all the packs. I don’t share anything to the gallery. And I don’t feel safe sharing these IDs.

22. Who’s your favorite CC creator?

- There are a lot! I can’t name them all, but I must say that I have almost everything by @ravensim and @aira-cc in my mods folder.

23. How long have you had a simblr?

- Since June 2019 I think, so 4 years. My simblr is older than my son 😅

24. How do you edit your pictures?

- I 100% rely on gshade. I use a personal edit of Strawberry Rhubarb Gshade Preset. And I also add moodlets and stuff in Photoshop.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?

- If the leak about horses is true, I’d love to have them! I wish there will also be a unicorn! 🦄 And I’d also want faires.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far?

- I’d say Cats and Dogs and Cottage Living. But it’s hard to chose really. I also love Island Living, because Sulani is gorgeous.

Honestly, I feel like the reason these people get away with these poor quality meshes and shady tactics is because most people don’t realize that it’s not all that good in the first place. You sit there and think “WOW! Look at this person who made their own items for the game!” and since you don’t know how to do it yourself and you’re on the outside looking in, it all seems impressive. I can definitely pinpoint the moment I realized that it’s as good as it seems.

I was too poor to buy packs so I used CC to fill the gaps , but then I discovered the Seven Seas of the Internet. Suddenly, I had all the packs at my disposal and I was so excited going through all these CAS items that I only ever saw in pack reviews on YouTube. But, that feeling faded quickly because I realized that I had seen most of them already in the form of CC mesh edits. I think what really put the nail in the coffin was seeing the DHD Items and realizing how many creators made their mesh edits and put them under early access w/o mentioning that they were just barely tweaked versions of an EA item.

I definitely had to take a step back from downloading CC after that, because I couldn’t view the creators I had admired so much in the same light as I had previously. All their creations were just kinda meh now that I had realized that they didn’t really create them at all and had just chopped it up and sold it as theirs. It was like finding out an artist you liked was just tracing everything and presenting it as theirs just because they changed the hairstyle.

Anyways, thanks for letting me ramble and keep on being awesome!

Nonny, I agree with everything you said. I went through this same thing as I realized more about cc creating and really how simple and repetitive some of my favorite cc was. I would be thinking a creator had super high quality work and was good at replicating EA's style... just to find out it was literally EA's meshes & textures just slightly tweaked. Considering how EA is (justifiably) shit on and used to be considered worse than cc creators, the situation has really taken a turn with maxis match creators. I really feel sorry for people that started simblrs in the last few years bc they will never know how you used to have 10x more content for FREE after a pack would drop, there would be repeats bc everyone was scrambling to make these little edits. Now the same 4-5 creators horde them under "add on" packs for extra money after people already paid EA for the pack. It's really just more microtransactions but it's from people that used to (seem to) care about the community & having fun but now just see dollar signs. I really honestly think they take those preview pics we get of all the items in a pack and seriously plan what they're going to slice and dice before the pack even comes out. And I think it's funny to criticize EA's every move (which i agree with tbh) when you're pretty much just a leech grabbing the work of the devs and stretching it as far as you can for your own gain. And they KNOW it's shady, that's why they hide and only pop in to post their cc, that's why they're super defensive, why they only talk to each other and have their lil secret discords where they pass around peoples names and get them banned from all their patreons while immediately chain blocking the people that criticize them on tumblr. The first minute I criticized early access (before I ever mentioned anyone by name), I got chain blocked by 5-8 big creators within a day, and i'm even blocked by maxismatchccworld by the same exact reason. They 1000% block out anyone they can and just collect a check every month off their basically- let's call it what it is- stolen work.

What's your favourite sims death? It's got to be the flight simulator in TS1. You ever been so sleepy you just drift right off into space? What about physically this time?

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? i guess semi-real? I've lost track of where the realism levels are at tbh. I love me some texture and shiny eyes is all I can specifically say, generally I just download whatever takes my fancy and hope for the best lmao

(now I'm just gonna derail this slightly to do my best grouchy old fucker impression and protest bitterly at the way the word alpha has come to be used to describe realistic CC, like arggghghghghg anything can have an alpha should you wish, why is this a thing >:( , ok grouch over)

Do you cheat your sims weight? Implying I ever play this game in a normal manner enough to have sims actually change weight from what they were originally created with in the first place

Do you move objects? Imagine playing sims 2 and not being able to move objects, truly a hellscape

Favourite mod? It's not exciting, but it's the SimBlender. Couldn't live (mode) without you, lil plant* fella.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack? Here's a vague answer for you all: The first sims game I got was the TS1 complete collection, so technically it was all the sims 1 EPs. And then when I got TS2 I got about 8 EPs/SPs in one go off ebay, can't exactly remember which ones other than it didn't include Apartment Life or Seasons, so what came first was really a good 50% of the whole game

Slightly off topic but the only sims I've ever bought new was the IKEA stuff pack when it was on clearance. Enjoy your £3 for this entire series, EA ;)

Have you made a simself? i tried a long long time ago but with very little resemblance. I have a very strange face that's hard to reproduce in <1000 polygons apparently.

Which is your favourite EA hair color? I'm quite fond of that slightly desaturated basegame brown shade, it's nice. Shame it's not really common in any of the more popular hair colour actions

Favourite EA hair? haircaesar, that short one that came with seasons. It's so… basic. So versatile. My beloved.

Favourite life stage? Adult. Elders second. I barely play any of the others tbh

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? I'd say technically for building, although it's more building characters and the world they live in. Gameplay does come into it, but more for letting sims play out storylines and interact with their world like in a soap opera way than the usual motives way of playing, if that makes sense - I'm constantly dishing out maxmotives because I had an idea of what I wanted to happen next but the sims would've otherwise been too grumpy lol

Are you a CC creator? As long as the title of CC creator doesn't expire after a couple of years of doing absolutely nothing (but definitely not retiring either) then yes

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad? I have been here for so many years and yet I've never said much beyond a couple of sentences to anyone, let alone having an entire squad lmao. Not deliberately, I've just got a habit of sitting here and collecting dust vibing

Do you have any sims merch? no, I don't think I've even seen any sims merch irl actually

Do you have a YouTube for sims? no.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing? Many eons ago, back in the distant mists of time, I used to be able to churn out sims and buildings at a rapid rate all day long. Now I… can't. Am I getting more picky? Am I paying more attention to detail? Am I just getting old? Who knows

Who’s your favourite CC creator? Over all these years?? It wouldn't be fair to pick just one even if I could, there's so many people propping up my game and making it look nice :O

How long have you had Simblr? 4293 days apparently, that's a lot of days.

How do you edit your pictures? do I look like I know what editing is? These days I don't even crop my pictures, I just dump screenshots into a presized photoshop document and shunt them around a bit until the composition looks ok. At a push I'll boost the contrast/saturation a tiny bit, particularly if I've left low blue light mode on again and the colours look a bit odd

What expansion/gamepack is your favorite? TS1 - you know I think it might be superstar. I love how silly studio town is with all those fun things like the fashion runway and the film sets. The celebrity system is amusing too, and is a convenient way of making sims of famous people a bit less weird to have around as opposed to just having them as playables (imo anyway). Shoutout to makin' magic too though, still my favourite implementation of magic in the entire sims series

TS2 - Apartment life. The ability to build functional flats and having magic back (if in a slightly disappointing way compared to TS1)? Height-shiftable things? Nice.

So I was planning to wait for the BACC to be almost done posting to actually start playing the UDC, but then I was like "I should build the houses and like play a little to get used to medieval" so I played half a sim day and here's what happened so far:

Forgot to download MC woohoo, it took me an hour to figure out why my teen sims couldn't get married

Married the wrong sim to my female founder so now my male founder has a first name I can't read while keeping a straight face

Said male founder randomly died of laughter and the wife saved him

I forgot to batch fix the old cc I downloaded and spent way too much time wondering why stuff kept disappearing

Placed the laundry basket on the lot but forgot the basin and cloth line, a classic.

One of the mods I downloaded is broken, okay, let's close the game and remove it and see if everything works now (repeat 10 times)

The female sims all having their hair covered is not happening, because I can't tell them apart, so some of them will, some of them won't, I already warned you this thing isn't accurate

I wanna recolor all the TSM conversions because they aren't maxis match enough for me (even though TSM was made by maxis...) and a bunch of other items too (If you want a medieval recolor/retexture of anything let me know, right now I have a few items of outdoor retreat in mind as they look handmade)

All this to say, this is intense... I think I'll finish playing year 1 (a year is 4 days), then I'll focus on populating the save with kind of appropriately dressed townies (the heirs and spares will need spouses and friends), build said townies some houses and maybe a community lot or two (a tavern for social events maybe, a wedding place too...). I started with a blank save, and even if I find sims and lots on the gallery, I'll want to edit them.

Also, I moved my queue from 5 posts a day to 7, because I am too far ahead. I should have done it before tbh...

1. What’s your favourite sims death? Gotta go with a classic... the cowplant death. I really like cowplants!

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? I'm maxis mix, but hair must be maxis match.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Nope. I can't think of a reason I would ever need to!

4. Do you use move objects? Yes, but I use the T.O.O.L. mod more (for really accurate placement).

5. Favorite mod? UI Cheats or MCCommand are obviously necessary, but I could not play the game without Lumpinou's mods or custom recipes (Granny's Cookbook is my favorite).

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? Get to Work, luxury party, and camping GP (outdoor retreat I think? It came in a bundle).

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? Honest to God I go back and forth on this. Depending on the context I have used both! (I pondered this question for a few minutes but it hurt my poor little dyslexic brain. I just kept going back and forth until I was too confused lmao.)

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? I really don't have a favorite child. Erwin is probably my favorite townie makeover, but I will always have a special place in my heart for my Carter family OCs.

9. Have you made a simself? Yes, but I don't play my simself in game.

10. What sim traits do you give yourself? High maintenance, creative, family-oriented (+ music lover and moody)

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? Probably the true black tbh (but I use the last red hair swatch a LOT for some reason lol).

12. Favorite EA hair? I like all the hairs that came with Growing Together and I like the braided updo from Jungle Adventure.

13. Favorite life stage? Teens or YA probably as these stages have the most enjoyable gameplay features.

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? Gameplay - telling stories is the heart of why I play the Sims in the first place. I do love building, but I have to be in the mood.

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? Back when TS4 first dropped I used alpha cc, no custom sliders, no skin overlays, and my sims were very ugly tbh lol. Then I shifted to a hyper cartoon look once I discovered simblr. But now I think I have my own distinctive style that I'm really proud of!

22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? I like so many different creators, but I have everything @pralinesims has ever made in my game. I also love @simstrouble, @daylifesims, and @okruee hairs. For build stuff, probably @awingedllama!

24. How do you edit your pictures? I mostly resize, crop, adjust the exposure and contrast as I see fit, then sharpen the image. I do have a new method for gameplay pics that I learned a few days ago that looks really clean and smooth that I'm excited about too!!! My whole process is pretty low effort as I'm not into that part of the process at all.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? Strangerville (obviously) and Get Together, the underrated queen!!! The townies are so good and the world is amazing. But really I like any packs that add gameplay (especially family/legacy-centered gameplay).

26. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? Not a whole pack dedicated to horses that's for sure lmao 😅. I really want another city world, or at least a world that has apartments. More hobbies and skills would be phenomenal, like a whole skill game pack or EP dedicated to hobbies and personal passions (reminiscent of TS2 Freetime). More diversity of personality and skills in the game, more careers (not all playable ones like GTW, but I wouldn't object to a few). A skills/hobby pack would be a great pack to include bands and additional instruments. I would like more non-American-based worlds as well.

oh gosh, okay, tbh, in general idk if i have a favorite, i do like a classic death by old age just because it makes me feel accomplished, lol, but specifically i think it'd have to be the time forrest bonnet died of cardiac explosion the literal second i hit play once i finished building his house 😂

Alpha CC/Semi-realism or Maxis Match?

idk why but i am definitely more maxis match for ts4 and semi-realistic for ts2? it just feels RIGHT to me

Do you cheat your sims weight?

only for my story sims, in the spirit of keeping things semi-consistent between chapters, because i swear sim stede gains weight faster than any sim i've ever played, and sim ed often ends up TOO BUFF from all of his energized swimming 😂 other than that, i do not, i just let them do their own thing. i dont really use too many custom body shapes for ts2, but definitely coming back to it after playing with the diversity in ts4 has been a bit jarring, but also custom body shapes are a lot of work so. idk what the solution is!

i think mostly i've gotten better at taking and editing pics? gos was pretty much my introduction to sims cc (with the exception of some sailor moon skins/heads i had for ts1 that my dad had to help me install 😂) so that had a HUGE influence on my style that i never really strayed from. i think i toned it down a bit in ts4, but at my core, i am still very neon/grunge oriented

for tumblr i crop them to 800x500, use the honeycomb psd (with a vibrance layer added) and then use pooklet's sharpening action

HMMMMMMM. this is a tough one. possibly seasons for ts2? ts4 i cannot even say, because there are so fucking many lmfao it's disgusting 😂

2. how would you describe your style?

I probably wouldn't describe my style, because I don't know how to do it! It's a bit maxis match, but not fully. I do like a more traditional look to the game, and I like colour, but not to the extent I've seen some people do with reshade (which all look amazing, by the way). I tend to go with whatever looks good to me, and not let any guidelines or styles direct my choices ♥

When it comes to posting and pictures, I really like taking pictures in my game, and I often carefully line up the gameplay pictures I take. If I can't get a good angle to a photo, I most likely won't take the picture (which I should, because this is why I miss many important events in my game :DDD). I rarely use poses or move sims around to get pictures. I wish I could create posts and pic sets that have more storytelling in them, but up until now I haven't really had the energy to do that :')

20. how many drafts do you have on your blog currently?

77, looks to be! That's not too much, I think. I always throw reblogs and cc stuff to my sideblog so they don't clutter my drafts. To compare, my personal blog has 754 drafts....................

23. are you in any sims related discord servers?

I'm not really big on Discord (tbh it confuses me a LOT). I use it to do video calls with a few friends and I track Phasmo/phobia updates through it. Other than that, I don't really use it. HOWEVER, my name there is Sometownie, so I guess I did have plans on joining a Sims discord when I created the account. So, maybe one day.

Anonymous said: What's your collab process when you and other creators make packs? Like how do you decide to do it together and how do you split up the ideas and everything?

I’m going to answer another ask outside of this post that details this but I’ll answer this one here too. The way me and ayoshi do packs is not like a usual collab (in my opinion I don’t think people collab like this). I am good at making meshes. So usually I make a mesh for something and ayoshi makes a base texture that I can use to finish the base of the top/bottom and then we work together to fix any texture issues. Nothing we’ve made has ever been 100% mine or 100% his except for the hairs. Sometimes a mesh is easy but the texture requires a lot of work so it’s more work for him, sometimes I decide I want to try and texture something (like with this AxA I made textures for some of the clothes) and then ayoshi will clean the texture up for me and add some shading for me. So it’s a lot different than what I imagine most collabs are. But I love the way me and him work together and the ability to change something I don’t like because it isn’t just his, it’s ours.

I don’t think I’m going to upload my Sims anymore though :( I have a ton of sliders and presets in my game and I have no idea which ones I use. I have 3 of the ones I know I use listed on my resource page but there are so many more and I don’t want to share them and they be broken in peoples games.

I’m not sure if there are people that specifically only do that but I think there are a handful of creators that get inspired from kpop/music videos and make hairs similar to that. Cause we use EA meshes most of the time the hairs aren’t going to look exactly like the inspiration though. Like I have two hairs that are based off Go Won from loona (Go Won hair and Kelsey Hair) but i don’t think you can tell that just from looking at them.

I got tagged by @cantseemtohide and thought it would be nice to share some things about myself!

Nickname: I haven’t had one in a loooong time, but my friends from university just call me V.

Gender: Female

Astrological Sign: I’m a Taurus! My birthday was at the beginning of May.

Height: 5′2″ or 5′3″ ... I’m kind of short.

Sexuality: I identify as straight, but honestly sexuality is a spectrum so who really knows?

Hogwarts House: I’m not a huge HP fan but I took a quiz once out of curiosity and got Ravenclaw. So HP fans, take that as you will!

Favorite Animal: Capybaras, especially whilst chilling in a yuzu bath. I’ve also had a soft spot for Koalas since I was a kid.

Number of Blankets: Too many to count.

Where I’m From: Canada! I’ve lived in two provinces (Ontario and Québec).

Dream Trip: An extended backpacking trip in East and Southeast Asia. My partner and I are going to Japan in August but it’ll only be for a few weeks. I can’t wait!

Type of sims player: In terms of CC, I’m Maxis Match (and I need to pare down my mods folder tbh). In terms of gameplay, I tend to be a “big happy family” player, and more so now that I’m doing somewhat of a Legacy (but with very loose rules). I love having a save filled with Sims who are distantly related to each other and who intermarry with the Premades.

Most wanted TS4 item: Hmmm....maybe spiral staircases? I dunno, I think they would be cool in a loft build.

TS4 Expansion pack: City Living and Seasons are my top 2. I also loved Cats and Dogs because I was finally able to make a dog that looks like mine.

Game pack: I had more fun with StrangerVille than I had anticipated (my queue is currently filled with the rest of my StrangerVille gameplay). I also like the Parenthood pack since I play a lot of families and the Values system has really helped round out Sims kids and teens.

Stuff Pack: I tend to use a lot of the Laundry stuff... lol.

When I created this account: Early 2018 I think.

Why I created this account: Mainly to follow CC creators. Then I started reblogging CC to keep track of what I had in my game (my bookmarks folder was an absolute mess). Then I started posting screenshots of my gameplay just for fun. Never thought anyone would find it particularly interesting!

Where have I been the last two years?

But if you do care, the answer is below the cut.

Honestly, it was a combination of numerous factors, primary of which is/was returning to university for another two years. On top of working to pay for tuition and the endless amounts of studying (yay! nursing!), I pretty much had no time to play my game. I know there are numerous simmers out there who are in school and/or working. I really don’t know how they manage to update on a regular schedule and post such quality content while still being able to thrive out in the real world. I’ve got so much respect for those creators, and they’re part of the reason why I’m back.

I’ve been lurking around tumblr the last two months. At first I wasn’t even logged into my account (I forgot my password and was too lazy to go through the process of recovering it). I was just searching through the tags and admiring all the pretty sims, the gorgeous interiors, and all the maxis-match custom content (WOW!). Ever since I logged into my account, I’ve been revisiting and lurking over at some blogs I used to frequent. Seeing how legacies have grown and how people have become more creative in telling stories made me miss playing and storytelling. It also made me miss being part of this community.

Now for the bad news...

I won’t be continuing with my Drake legacy. I miss playing that family. But toward the end of gen two, I was spending way more time downloading cc (even if I never used them) and making the speech bubbles on photoshop. It became more of a chore than something I truly enjoyed, which is why it was easy for me to abandon the save. I have the file in an external hard drive, but re-opening that save doesn’t interest me right now.

I’m still on a shared PC, so there won’t be 20 queued posts a day or anything like that. But I do hope to share my gameplay, including my current family. I still want to be able to tell a little bit of a story but I don’t want to get stuck on the frills, so maybe no speech bubbles (unless I figure out a way to make them in less than two seconds). I mean, I told myself no custom content this time; and I lasted about a week before I downloaded all of @peacemaker-ic‘s cc, because those furniture might as well be in-game. EA should be sending over the cheque, tbh.

Anyway, my long-winded explanation is getting in the way of dinner. Before I go, I just want to say thank you to all the lovely simmers who sent their thoughts my way when I just up and left tumblr. I’m really very sorry for just disappearing. I sometimes thought about writing a post to explain where I had gone, but I didn’t really see the point if I wasn’t going to come back and post anyway. Hopefully, I stick around longer this time. I do plan to be more honest about when I can post and how I’m feeling about the game. And I’ll try to be quicker with replies and more available to chat from now on. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading!

Oh, and please recommend new people I should follow! And by new, I mean active in the last two years, lol. I love stories, legacies, challenges, etc. I tend to prefer maxis match for my own gameplay, but I really have no preference when it comes to my feed.

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? i didn’t use poses or focus on story until last year, so i suppose it’s changed dramatically.

After seeing @flamedeyes have fun with this, I decided to do it myself :)

1. What’s your favorite sims death? I genuinely tried to kill a sim with (cheated) hysteria in my last game (before starting this simblr I had a game involving septuplets and I wanted to kill the dad off to explain why he wasn’t around) and... it did not work. It’s my favourite solely because I’ve never felt so told off by a videogame before

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Maxis Match! It’s good for my graphics card lol

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Nope! I am a genuine fat kid from a family of fat kids so I really have no issue with weightier sims. As you’ll see in later installments of my legacy, Raven puts on a lot of weight that, tbh, I did not even notice until looking back on old screenshots.

4. Do you use move objects? Sometimes. I’m not much of a builder so I don’t really need it too often.

5. Favorite mod? MC Command Center by @deaderpoolmc, tbh. I know it’s not one of the ~cool~ or ~weird~ mods but I’m such a control freak and it keeps me from spending too much time in console.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? I’m on a shared account (shh don’t tell Origin shh) so by the time I bought in, the other users had already bought Get Together, Get To Work, City Living, Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, and Dine Out.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? aLIVE. I just heard somebody say it like LIVing and it freaked me out tbh.

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? I’m going to ignore ts3 and say Amina, who’s my icon rn.

9. Have you made a simself? I did for very embarrassing reasons but the save file it was on got wiped months ago and I get really weird about simselves.

10. What sim traits do you give yourself? Creative, Ambitious, Loner. Other applicable traits include childish, geek, gloomy, hot headed, music lover, and noncommittal. It’s really dumb but I was actually upset that sims got less trait slots rather than more in the switch from ts3 to ts4.

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? I LOVE the slightly greying brown. It’s some quality content.

12. Favorite EA hair? The slightly pulled-back with barrettes hair from Dine Out. I’m a sucker for that hair.

13. Favorite life stage? Teen! It’s has the most opportunity for making up stories tbh.

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? GAMEPLAY! All of my games are based in story. I only made my simblr because I feel like I’m wasting my time making up stories that no one else will be able to see. It’s been more difficult than I expected because I’m so used to suspending my own disbelief for the sake of plot but I constantly worry about how weak my voice is in my sim stories (since there isn’t much wiggle room there). It’s also been so much more fun than I expected though, so worth it.

15. Are you a CC creator? Technically not yet but I’m working on some stuff! I’m more interested in script mods than anything else tho since I love coding.

16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? Nope! I’m still a bit of a newbie here so I haven’t had enough time to make friends. I’m very much planning on starting a discord chat for maxis match simblrs tho, so if you’re interested in that, stay tuned.

17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4): I’ve been getting really into 4 but I still don’t have the level of fluency I did with 3. I feel like modding got a whole lot easier with 4 tho, which is a major bonus. 1 and 2 were always more my mom’s games, so I didn’t get into them nearly as much.

18. Do you have any sims merch? ...There’s merch?

19. Do you have a YouTube for sims? Not yet but I’m planning on taking up streaming just so I don’t have to be so lonely this summer :3c

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? When I first started out in ts3, I would literally pick the same face, hair, clothes, and traits for every sims I made. I can still see their generic-ass faces in the corner of my mind. I then went on a huge cc binge and downloaded anything I could find, which was a BAD IDEA. Then, when I first got ts4, I was determined to use purely maxis content- a sentiment which lasted about a year before I got bored and went back to modding my game. I still tend to use game-generated faces rather than trying to have any specific style (I’m so worried about all my sims turning out the same), but now I can at least add face overlays lol

21. What’s your Origin ID? Again, I’m on a (super top secret) shared account and my friends are not cool with me giving it out :(

22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? Anyone who makes mm-friendly hair for black sims and mm menswear is literally a god

23. How long have you had a simblr? I made this back in... April? May? Towards the end of this past spring semester. So only a bout a month and a half or so at most.

24. How do you edit your pictures? I, uh, crop them in the built-in windows picture editor. The furthest I’ve ever gone was pixlr for a shitty edit of Amina and mspaint for introducing my legacy founders. I’d love to improve my editing game but let’s be honest, photoshop was not my favourite part of computer camp.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? Seasons is always a fun one and of course Pets is a classic, but what I REALLY want is a full supernatural pack for ts4. Supernatural for ts3 was my SHIT Oh, and University. That was some good stuff

Also I’m not kidding. If a supernatural pack is not at least hinted at by the time sims 5 is announced (if it’s ever a thing lol) then I will personally mod my own supernatural pack into the game. Don’t test me

26. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? City Living and Parenthood have been the most enriching to my playstyle, tbh.

Firstly, thank you for the meshing compliment, but tbh I think I make pretty simple hair styles? Like I don’t do many crazy things especially recently? Idk, I hope you like some of my hairs and can find something that fits in your liking :/

Ok I am gonna be super straight forward about this, making hairstyles like this is really challenging for me. I have tried a ton of times and I just can’t get the meshes to work out the way I like. UV mapping is a pain in the ass, making the hairline match well, and making sure none of the mesh strands are broken is next to impossible for me. Most creators that make hairstyles like this do them from scratch or spend a long time working on them for them to look right. I’m not saying ‘no’ because I am going to try to play around with some seasons meshes (I have hair ideas) but no promises :(

► I didn’t have my voice for the entire trip bc I got sick with laryngitis, and now koby (the guy i shared a tent with) has it too erfdbvc

► It was blazing hot like omg I was dying, there werent showers, bathrooms, anything with AC. The tents were boiling hot, the ground fucking hurt, and it was just hell ok this isnt even a story I just need to complain.

► There was a racoon family outside the tents the first night, and we thought it was a bear bc we were literally in the middle of the woods, like it wasn’t a campsite with other people, it was the forest ;-; anyways we were legit so freaked out and up for 2 hours just listening to them walk around the tents and god it was so scary rfbdv

► As I said, I had no service so I missed the larvitar community day in pokemon go -_-

► I suck at cornhole so I was the cheer leader for a team UwU

► A deer jumped out right in front of the fucking car like RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT omg we were so close to hitting it like... it was fucking scary

► We went walking on a trail that was down a mountain and once we got down we discovered that the chairlift up was CLOSED so we had to walk back up and it was a nightmare bc we had all just drove like 30 minutes to shower in crappy no pressure no heat showers and we were all sweaty again by the time we got back to the top ;-;

Hello! I use an adfly skipper + adblock, and if both of those don’t work then I just don’t download the cc. For some creators (nolan-sims, simduction, isjao, ivo-sims, and others) I will turn them off because I know these creators aren’t ones that use the sketchy adfly stuff, but for others that I don’t know well I leave it on. I use: U Block origin and adfly skipper (both on firefox)

Hello!! I don’t think this is my eyes because I’m not experiencing this glitch? Did you run a S4S batch fix over everything? I think that causes this glitch sometimes but I am unsure. Try repairing your game and if you have the “no EA eyelash” mod then redownload that and replace the old file.
