Hey Llama, since we saw what a good aquarium is like, how about zoo siren au if the aquarium was actually competent and good? :D
aka-indulgence more like aka-ingulGENIUS
Sans: This AU would probably make the biggest difference to dearly beloved orca boy. Our cute monochromatic sociopath has a dizzyingly large pool with plenty of room to move and depth to dive into, plenty of natural lighting from big windows and fresh air pumped from outside, a constantly rotated array of complex toys to pull apart. But most importantly, humans don't closely interact with him. The aquarium can tell he's angry, and doesn't want anyone near him- so for both their safety and his peace of mind staff interact with him exclusively through sheets of thick glass or from high walkways far out of his reach.
This has left them with a siren who still launches attacks when he can (like breaching to try and hit the walkway), but has never successfully killed anyone. And the biggest difference is he's only attacking out of momentary flashes of frustration. He's not planning murders far in advance, like his abused counterpart- he's just losing his temper. He's generally quite content.
Even more so when he meets his darling keeper.
Red: We have a very happy shark on our hands!
A big tank, full of swarms of little fish and actual live coral instead of just fake fibreglass, he's got one of those winding shark tunnels beneath his enclosure that kids love to run through. He delights in the excited expressions on their faces when he glides over their heads, and he likes being 'chased' around the tank... lots of cute viral videos of him blowing bubbles at children, or sneaking up behind an unsuspecting adult and scaring the shit out of them.
The aquarium tried to wean him off his affinity for people. It didn't work. Unfortunately, that means he can't really ever be released, in case he approaches swimmers and gets himself hunted- so now they indulge his fixation on humans for enrichment purposes.
The main difference for this Red is how he bites. He still bites keepers, But they're warnings for getting too close, nothing with malicious intent... he hasn't removed any fingers, he's still very popular with staff for his big personality. You can't help but love him.
Skull: Since Sans is happy pulling apart his toys instead of staff, Skull is arguably the most dangerous siren in this AU. Not much changes about him, really, despite the far better environment; he's got a lovely deep dark tank and a much bigger den to hide in, but he's still known for tucking away rather than approaching the crowds.
... And he's still a killer.
He's the only siren who's successfully killed someone in this AU. Ironically, the fact that it's only one death makes him seem even scarier, and his repeated attempts all the more jarring. If it weren't for the strict safety protocols that were enforced after the first death he likely would've killed again. Unlike their 'bad au' counterpart, this aquarium isn't nearly as willing to throw Mc into his tank to pacify him- in fact, they're not willing at all. Putting Mc within tentacle's reach of this behemoth seems to be the last thing they want to do.
... But if it keeps him calm, and stops him attacking...

Ghoul Pack HCs
For a period of time in the late summer, all ghouls and ghoulettes are locked out of all the buildings on the grounds and are forced into the elemental habitat. This is hunting season. It affects every ghoul, making them almost feral, revert back to walking on all fours, and extremely dangerous to anyone who is not another ghoul. On one occasion, Secondo was attacked after refusing to let his ghouls out. He wasn't severely injured but he now has a large scar on his left bicep where he'd been clawed. Copia is more than happy to let them out and usually sends them out a day early after feeding them well in case they don't make any catches.
Dew is usually the first to Turn. He is extremely territorial and one of the only ghouls who do not hunt in a group. He seems to be a bit of a scavenger, getting into fights with the others if they haven't left any food for him. He's often seen circling the doors of the ministry, trying to lure someone out. Apparently, he forgets the lectures given to the siblings and Papas, reminding them not to go outside. Even though he shouldn't, Copia feels a bit bad for his futile efforts and sometimes throws a raw chicken or two out a window for Dew to take.
Rain usually takes himself off to the pond at least a week before Turning to move his koi carp to a tank inside. After Turning, he hunts both on land and in water. His serrated teeth make it extremely easy for him to catch and keep hold of any prey, especially fish. If he eats everything he can in his pond, he usually goes and hunts with Mountain or Swiss. Rain's the least aggressive of all the ghouls and ghoulettes, preferring only small or medium sized prey and avoiding any form of conflict. On one occasion, a Sibling had gone outside to send over some paperwork to a different building, Rain had gotten a bit too close for the siblings liking and was scared off by a few loud claps and shouts.
Mountain is one of the most aggressive ghouls during hunting season. He attacks almost anything that moves. Although his antlers seem to suggest he'd be a herbivore and a lot more docile, Mountain often hunts quite large prey. Elk or moose are released prior to Mountain being sent out. By the end of the season, almost all of them are eaten. He prefers to hunt with a few others, especially Rain and Swiss. Mountain is the one the clergy is told to keep an eye out for as he is extremely hard to scare off if he gets too close. He rarely comes out of the woods however, so it's very rare for him to attack anyone away from the woods' border. Mountain also requires a lot of care at the end of the season as his morals while Turned contradicts his usual morals. Any carcasses have to be disposed of, any surviving elk or moose are released into a different woodland, and Rain uses his elemental powers to naturally wash away any blood.
Swiss hunts with anyone who'll have him. Unlike the rest of the pack, Swiss is extremely good at mimicking different animal calls which makes him extremely useful in pack hunts. Roll calls are made twice daily back in the ministry as Swiss occasionally imitates human screams, hoping to lure people out. He's also an excellent climber and enjoys hunting birds in particular. He's been seen play fighting Dew when they get near each other and Copia always takes the opportunity to take pictures of them.
Aether and Phantom are some of the hardest ghouls to keep out as well as being the most dangerous. Quint ghouls hunt in the shadows so are extremely hard to spot. During hunting season, all the lights are kept on inside the buildings and candles are handed out to anyone who needs them. Quint ghouls are also the hardest to protect yourself from as they literally drain and devour the soul out of their victims. They also work very closely with the ghoulettes. The Quints feed on anything living so don't require any support like Mountain or Dew. Phantom finds it hard to kill anything and Aether has to often convince him to drain a spider. Phantom is almost always starving at the end of the season as he eats very little during it. Copia makes sure there's food waiting for him in his room when he returns.
The ghoulettes are just about as hard to protect yourself from as quints. They suffocate their prey almost immediately. However, it could be argued that they have the most humane way of killing their prey. There's never been any ghoulette attacks though so people tend not to be as cautious of them. They prefer small animals like hares and rabbits but will also help catch prey on pack hunts. The ghoulettes hunt together anyway and rarely hunt alone. They also work with quints a lot as they both hunt in similar ways.
The hunting season lasts around two weeks but the pack makes their way back inside in their own time. It takes a lot of them a little while to go back to walking upright and talking. They're also given an extra week off all work (which annoys Aether as he tries to convince everyone he's fine to go back to work the day after). The pack usually just relaxes in the den and have very long naps.

For those interested in AU with Siren Wilbur and Captain Quackity from the lower post
Tumblr media
this AU has quite a rich lore and plot, it is mainly based on psychology and is quite difficult to understand, there are a lot of characters and they all went through a lot of suffering. If I talk about EVERYONE then it would take a VERY long time, but I can talk about the main characters: Techno, Tommy, Wilbur, Sally, Puffy, Quackity.
Everything begins with the kingdom of mermaids and sirens in the Black Sea.
A quick explanation about mermaids and sirens.
Mermaids have the tails of river and lake fish, such as salmon, herring, etc. That is, almost everyone, except predators.
Of course, there are always some cases-exceptions, so sometimes there are mermaids with the tails of predators. Also with sirens, sometimes you can meet a siren with a tail, for example, a goldfish (like Tommy).
Mermaids themselves are smaller than sirens, also dangerous, but mostly weaker.
Sirens are always predators, such as sharks, killer whales, piranhas, etc. (Although piranhas live in fresh water, they still belong to sirens that live in the sea). Sirens can use their voice in hypnosis, have very sharp claws and teeth, they are the strongest creatures in the black sea, so there is racism in the kingdom, where sirens humiliate mermaids.
An interesting point: pairs of sirens and mermaids.
Both sirens and mermaids are very jealous and loyal. They can only have one partner for life (or polyamory - 2 partners for life). That is, when a pair of sirens/mermaids dies, the other dies as well. The only way for one of the partners to survive is to have a child.
I can tell more about lore in other answers and posts, because there is a lot, a lot of information (after all, AU is exists more than a year, I came up with a lot lol)
Now plot & lore.
Technoblade is the eldest son, he is a siren with a white shark tail, and despite the fact that he is older and should be the heir to the crown, he joined the ranks of the knights of the kingdom.
Wilbur is the middle son, has a killer whale tail, he became the heir to the crown, so he has a lot of responsibility and interest in his every action. By himself, Wilbur is quite calm and wise, tries to be fair, but sometimes he breaks down and runs wild.
Tommy, the youngest and last son, he is pretty childish and in refers to things from a positive point of view. Wilbur doesn't always share this, and is more inclined to listen to the advice of Techno and their father Phil.
Tommy and Wilbur are often called the sun and the moon in the kingdom.
Sally is a river mermaid with a salmon tail. She, like other mermaids, unfortunately succumbed to humiliation from sirens and even other "privileged" mermaids. In the course of the story, she became Wilbur's girlfriend, which was greatly disliked by the other mermaids and sirens of the kingdom and eventually killed Sally, but Wilbur was able to survive because he had a child, Fundy/Tallulah, by Sally at the time. (I used to think that they would have a son Fundy, but now I think it would be better if it were Tallulah, because then Fundy would be a human child, and Tallulah would be a siren). But even though Wilbur managed to survive, he began to slowly lose his mind and go wild, due to which Phil had to put Wilbur in the kingdom's prison for a while.
Puffy. She plays quite a role in this story because she is a loyal knight of the kingdom and the best friend of the king and his sons. She is quite wise and compassionate, Puffy plays the role of a psychologist in this story. She is a siren, but I haven't decided what kind of fish her tail will be XD
captain Quackity. A cruel and influential man, he has been hunting sirens and mermaids for a long time. He is not a pirate, he is a hunter.
Pirates and hunters are a little different: pirates do not affect the inhabitants of the seas, they attack other ships, and hunters attack both the inhabitants of the seas and other ships.
after capturing Wilbur, the captain will treat him more gently than the other sirens and mermaids, because this is the first time a blue-blooded person has been on his ship. Despite this, he will still be quite cold towards Wilbur, and will try all kinds of methods to find out as much secret information as possible.
By the way, at the moment when Wilbur is on the hunter ship, Stockholm syndrome will happen and Wilbur will start to think that he loves the captain :(
so now there will be a spoiler for the ending:
The ship will be caught in a severe storm, sirens will attack their ship, killing many of the crew and tearing the ship apart. Quackity will drown when he tries to save himself and others, he will be stuck in the closed cabin. Wilbur will look for the captain and then he will find him, but it will be too late.
Wilbur will drag Quackity's body to the shore, there will be a difficult scene with Wilbur tearing his own body to pieces in front of Tommy, who will be hiding behind a rock nearby.
Tommy becomes the new heir to the throne.
The kingdom despises Tommy and Phil for his choice. The kingdom is in chaos, Tommy will have to make up for all his wrongdoings and prove that he is a good king.
Here's the story in a VERY short summary. I wanted to do it in the form of a fanfic, but I understand that I will not be able to, because it's too difficult mentally, I still need to study psychology.
I hope you like the idea if you're still here XD
Also, English isn't my native language, I apologize for possible mistakes in the text.
I hope I haven't exceeded any word limits here...
here is another sketch and art of this AU, which I drew in 2022:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
lol I noticed that Quackity is on the right side in each illustration.
TY FOR READING ALL THIS HAHA...

some facts about the world of my kane & jim mermay special bc i can't stop thinking about this world
Tumblr media
^ kane and his pilot fish at the aquarium
vampires:
in this world, the entire idea of a vampire is an aquatic creature. there are no land vampires, and if someone were to conceptualize one for fiction, they'd have to say it like that. land vampires...
vampires are more biological and less magical than the ones in the main series, but still a little magical.
vampires both eat meat (fish/seals/etc) and drink blood. they can drink most kinds of blood, but human blood is the most delicious, which is why kane went after jim.
vampires can live either solitarily or in groups/pods. if a pod gets too big to be sustainable, the smallest members will generally be kicked out.
vampires are usually around 10-15 feet, about the same as a great white shark. kane is on the smaller side at around 9 feet.
i know groups of sharks are called shivers, but groups of vampires are called pods because i like it :)
they have lots of spiky teeth!!! not just two fangs!
some vampires have their own languages. some have spoken language (mildly common), some have sign language (more common), some have both (uncommon), and some have neither or only a few signs/words (most common). it varies from pod to pod. they are extremely good language-learners, like human children, and can easily learn another pod's language if they find a mate they don't share one with. if a vampire pod does not use language and finds themselves in a situation where they need one, they will invent one as needed.
scientific name for the genus is Vampyroselakhos, took inspiration from the vampire squid. idk about species name
two of them. 😏
weaknesses:
vampires can die easier than k&j vamps but less easy than real fish. they can starve to death, though it takes a lot for that to happen, several months without food. they will heal most injuries (with scarring), but they can't regrow whole limbs and will die if things get super gory.
most vampires are highly allergic to wood, which can kill them if it gets in their bloodstream.
residing in deeper waters, vampires are very easily sunburned, but like a normal human sunburn. they also can't see well in daylight.
vampires can breathe air for short periods of time, but will start to asphyxiate if out of the water for more than about an hour. if left without breathable water for about 6 hours, they will die.
they are saltwater fish and cannot tolerate freshwater. being left in freshwater will make their cells start to rupture (this is true of irl saltwater fish). they can survive this for small periods of time but not sustainably.
vampire/human relations:
vampires are known to be sapient beings, but also vicious predators who will actively take humans from beaches and boats and usually kill them--far more dangerous than actual sharks! despite the sapience, they are legally considered animals, not people, in the vast majority of the world.
vampires have some protections. they're protected from abuse/inhumane treatment under animal abuse laws, and it's illegal to keep a vampire in captivity without proper clearance, due to both the safety risk they pose and the wellbeing of the vampire. what the fishers did to kane was super illegal!
clearance to keep a vampire captive usually involves the vampire consenting to it, unless the vampire is an orphaned baby.
hunting vampires is illegal, though most people who encounter them did not go looking on purpose.
due to the safety risk they pose, it is legal to kill wild vampires on sight as long as long as you don't go purposely hunting for them. like polar bears, if you see a wild vampire approaching, you're pretty much already dead unless you have a gun. unlike polar bears, vampires are not an endangered or threatened species.
it is illegal to sell vampires, dead or alive, including vampire body parts or teeth. it is, however, legal to eat them if you kill one yourself under legal circumstances, and they taste quite good. (though it's vampires eating humans more often than the other way around.) there is a black market for vampires, generally dead.
kane:
kane was kicked out of his pod for being too small :(
kane's pod did not use much language. he learned his first from jim, the fishers, and the aquarium staff. his pod did have spoken names.
his time in the fishers' tiny, cramped tank left him with physical issues that prevented him from swimming normally for months. he needed physical therapy surgeries for broken bones, and general medical care. this was extremely terrifying for him, but everyone did their best to help keep him feeling calm and safe. and pain meds work on vampires in this AU which is nice for him :)
when kane was first brought to the aquarium, he was kept in a smaller (but still very much healthy-sized) tank in the medical area. honestly probably one of the largest tanks they have in the medical area. after his more urgent injuries were healed, he was offered the option of staying there where it's private, or being moved into a VERY large tank in the public viewing area. he chose the latter, having extreme claustrophobia.
he was extremely scared of all the aquarium staff at first and needed to be gently coaxed whenever they needed to do medical checkups. however, kane was won over easily with food and pain medication.
after kane is healed and completes physical therapy, the vet tells him he's free to go back to the ocean. he declines, opting to stay at the aquarium.
they end up getting him a Therapist therapist, for his mental health, as well. kane doesn't really "get it".
as kane's time at the aquarium goes on, he becomes more comfortable around humans. he's an incredibly popular attraction, and he starts to relish in the positive attention from aquarium guests. he does spins in the water and takes pride in the amazed looks he gets for something so simple as being himself. he gets REALLY into it.
he does a lil educational program with bellamy where people can ask them questions about vampires (kane has the lived experience, bellamy has the more scientific/biological answers)
kane's tank at the aquarium doesn't have much in the way of other living animals at first, given kane could (and would) eat them. however, he has a lot of nice plants. after he's built up some trust with the staff and done some work on his food insecurity, they add some pilot fish in with him. kane considers them his beloved pets.
human characters:
jim was rescued by cave-divers who discovered him while kane was away. he was near-dead from infection.
bellamy's family owns some terrible exploitative unethical seaworld-type mega-aquarium. bellamy defiantly left for an ethically-run/normal smaller aquarium
bellamy's coworkers tease him about having a crush on a fish (in a lighthearted friendly way)
not sure yet what i want liz's deal to be in this au
i get all my knowledge of how aquariums function from 1. finding dory and 2. aquatope on white sand, so don't be mad at me if i got stuff wrong <3 blame the media

Now this had me thinking... Would Willowpelt die in the same way as canon (although to another creature im assuming since bb!badgers aren't as dangerous as they are in canon)? If she's getting kept around longer, maybe Cricketclaw is the one who sacrifices herself instead? That sounds like a fitting way for her to go, considering she couldn't protect her own siblings?
I feel like I should add a TM to anything that I'm working on in my drafts that has significant progress and is blog-plot-relevant, that will explain something exactly like this LMAO
Forgive me I am, at heart, a bear that eats half a salmon and then forgets I had a fish at all
Willowpelt's brush with death is staying, and is actually a bit plot relevant in Firestar's Quietus! I have a very specific scene which is actually totally written out-- actually fuck it, I'll just post it here
Context and narrative purpose of this scene:
Firestar is informed of a boar on the territory, and gathers a little scouting patrol to try and figure out what sort of hog it is.
VERY IMPORTANT SEGWAY. Because of how Willowpelt gets bitten here and Firestar loses a life saving Sorrelpaw, they all end up in the Cleric's den where Ferncloud is telling a story both to practice her new job as upcoming Educator and to comfort everyone.
The fact Willowpelt is not dead is how I get Littlecloud away from Runningnose and Firestar
Runningnose has a hunch, in this moment, that goody two-shoes little Firestar might be the perfect person to help Brokenstar, and teases the visions and revelations he's about to have
Establishes that boars are the new Big Bad Beastie of BB
Presents Sorrelpaw's epilepsy and demonstrates how it is a danger to her safety
(this is a lot of buildup but this is actually pretty short lmao)
So anyway before I let you go on to the readmore and a preview of Firestar's Quietus, no one takes Willowpelt's death here, and Willow is going to hang on for longer. I wanted to make sure I have a good amount of cats to kill off in the carnage of the White Hart's destruction.
Wherever Cricketclaw dies, it will be for a purpose. Either to show how bloody the TNP conflicts are, or in a greencough epidemic because I'm trying to make sure those aren't just "Kill a bunch of randos offscreen" disease anymore.
WILLOWPELT'S BOAR
The patrol is Sandstorm and Sorrelpaw, Willowpelt, Longtail and Sootpaw, and himself. It's just supposed to be for scouting, hence why the apprentices are coming along.
Unfortunately the hog has other plans, lunging out of a bush and going for Sootpaw
Willowpelt jumps in the way and gets bitten instead
Sorrelpaw acts quick, slashing its sensitive nose, drawing its attention and bolting as fast as she can
RIGHT as she crosses the Thunderpath, her body goes limp and she falls to the ground
She is having an absence seizure, and fallen flat on the road
The hog is hot on her heels, bowling after her, when a monster screeches to a halt out of nowhere
The hog is frozen in the headlights, Firestar bursts into action to pull Sorrelpaw out of the road
(i hear your heart beat to the beat of the drums) BUMP BUMP
The boar and Firestar have been hit by, have been struck by, an automobile
When he sees StarClan, they're about to greet him with love. But their faces turn to shock and fear, the scenery becoming sinister and trees falling down.
A fifth oak tree is crashing down towards them. Firestar stares at it, dumbstruck.
Just before it strikes him, his eyes snap open
Firestar resurrects with a burst of energy, dragging Sorrelpaw off the road and into the safety of a fern on the ShadowClan side
The humans are coming out of the car to examine the boar they struck, but Firestar doesn't have time to consider that or his vision.
Littlecloud's head pokes out of the foliage and he springs into action, checking them both for injury. Breathless, Firestar points behind him and rasps, "Willowpelt!"
Littlecloud nods and bolts across the road.
Runningnose saunters out from a different angle-- one where he would have been able to see the road. Everything that happened.
His gaze is unsettling as ever, pausing, eyeing the leader up and down.
He starts tending to Sorrelpaw, then mumbles,
"Brave of you."
"It's what any leader would have done."
"No. It's what you always do."
Firestar doesn't know how to respond to that, but he's glad Runningnose isn't staring at him anymore.
But continues, "You will learn terrible things in the days to come, Firestar, and StarClan will not answer the questions that find you. If you seek the truth, meet me by the mothermouth on the night after the next gathering."
Sorrelpaw is leaning up now, her eyes dazed and confused, as if she's trying to figure out what happened.

Yandere Deathgripper(Pet-like)
Sure, I'd love to! Of course I still need to rewatch HTTYD but this is not a specific Deathgripper so it should be fine ^^
Yandere! Deathgripper Concept
Pairing: Animal/Pet-like
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Overprotective behavior, Drugging (?), Kidnapping, Murder, Cannibalism mention, Possessive dragon, Stalking.
Tumblr media
From what I've seen there are many different variants of Deathgripper.
For this I'm going to focus on the common variant as seen above.
Deathgrippers are vicious creatures.
It's difficult to get one loyal towards a rider.
You can save them from danger which makes an adult one trust you.
Yet the easiest way to train any Deathgripper variant is a hatchling imprinting on you at birth.
They cannibalize their young, their diet is other dragons usually... the safest way to encounter one is training a hatchling.
Deathgrippers in the wild have a very violent nature.
Even then the dragons are dangerous due to their potent venom and acid blasts.
Their stealthy, intelligent, and incredibly agile hunters.
If a Deathgripper got attached to a rider, that rider will have some significant protection.
Deathgrippers strike fast and utilize venom to slow their opponents.
Any threat to their rider and they'll aim to kill.
They'll take down humans or dragons.
The beasts can be quite fearless when it comes to standing their ground.
Once a Deathgripper is big enough and trusts their darling, they'll carry them on their backs.
Dragon riding is a good way to bond with a dragon.
A domestic Deathgripper is best fed fish, even if it doesn't cut down on their bloodlust.
The venomous stinger and teeth on a Deathgripper is not only used to immobile foes.
If a Deathgripper disobeys their rider or feels their rider isn't listening to them...
The dragon will strike their rider with the stinger to paralyze them.
They do not use as much as they do towards foes, but it puts the rider in a vulnerable spot.
Which allows the Deathgripper to move their rider as they please.
Deathgrippers are probably one of the most possessive dragons with their rider.
Due to their violent disposition they do whatever it takes to keep the rider they trust most.
There may even be times a Deathgripper drags their paralyzed rider to their nest, wrapping around them and refusing to let go.
A Deathgripper isn't all that affectionate towards anyone but their rider.
They will stay still for affectionate pets against their scales when alone with their rider.
They get more violent if others are in the area and will refuse affection.
These dragons are ruthless.
They'd sting and bite rivals to drag them to their rider.
Like little presents before they slaughter the still breathing dragon or person.
Sometimes they eat their rivals...
Or simply melt them with acid.
They don't understand the fear on your face.
Deathgrippers will stalk both prey and their riders.
When it comes to their riders they mean it as playful.
Many strike class dragons know how to hit fast and stealthy.
Deathgrippers act the same, if there's a threat near their rider then the dragon takes it out quickly.
Deathgrippers are selfish ever since hatchlings.
If their rider hates their behavior, like the eventual abduction into their nest, they don't care.
Venom keeps their rider quiet and their rider alone can't defeat them.
They will make sure their rider is given food of some kind if you're in their nest.
Fish or meat from something is given to you, the dragon waiting for you to eat it.
Deathgrippers are not the type to mark.
Yet you may have scars from them anyways due to their violent nature.
Even when playing they can hurt.
Deathgrippers can be violent yet loyal dragons towards their rider darling.
Once they get territorial and possessive, however, who knows what they'll do to their rider or the creatures around them.

Genocide Frisk: The True Tragic Villain Of The Story
Tumblr media
Hear me out...
It's already been talked about how Chara and Asgore are misunderstood characters... now it's Genocide Frisk's turn.
Do I think that what Frisk did is right? No.
Do the monsters deserve to be wiped out completely? No.
Are any of the main characters innocent? No.
But does almost everyone keep forgetting that Frisk is a child that died countless times and was given a dangerous power that they never asked for? Yes.
Imagine things in Frisk's point of view...
You're a child that fell into a mountain full of monsters. You could have a loving family. You could have a horrible family. You could be an orphan. You could be younger than a 10-year-old.
A talking flower tried to kill you. A motherly goat saved you. But then she leaves you by yourself. Almost every monster in the Ruins tries to kill you. And maybe a few succeed.
RESET
She offered you a place to stay and gave you pie. You want to go home. You asked how to leave.
She tries to destroy the exit and hurts you with fire.
RESET
You somehow managed to convince her to let you leave. But she tells you to never come back. She doesn't even give you a coat for the freezing snow.
A skeleton scares you as a prank. His taller brother wants to hurt and capture you, so he can be a royal guard and be popular. The smaller skeleton asks you to play along with his brother, like possibly imprisoning you is a game. More monsters hurt you, insult you and possibly kill you.
RESET
The taller skeleton hurts you, both with his traps and his own bone attacks. He fails to defeat you and feels sorry for himself. You say you could be his friend, both out of pity and so he can let you pass.
More monsters hurt you, insult you and possibly kill you. You hide from a giant scary knight. The giant, scary knight silently chases you and tries to kill you with glowing spears. She later reveals to be an angry and mean fish lady. She calls you a coward for refusing to fight her, mocks you for not attacking monsters and saying that everyone would be better off with you dead.
RESET
RESET
RESET
You only escape her, when she collapses from the heat of the lava. For some reason, you give your constant killer some water and she simply walks away, with no words or apologies.
You find a stereotypical nerdy lizard who has been spying on you and claiming that she wants to help you. But she also said that before meeting you, she built a human-destroying tv-star robot and the robot broadcasts your suffering. She keeps helping you defeat her creation, but something about it feels off.
RESET
RESET
RESET
The smaller skeleton decides to reveal that he promised the goat lady that he would watch and protect you. A promise that he failed to keep. Then he scares you at the restaurant, as a cheap mean joke.
The robot reveals that the lizard is tricking and using you to feel better about herself. The robot then tries to kill you and steal your soul, to become famous on the surface. And your suffering is still being broadcasted for the kingdom's entertainment.
RESET
RESET
RESET
The smaller skeleton has the nerve to come back one last time, to judge you.
You meet the King and the souls of his victims.
Souls that could've been children like you.
RESET
RESET
RESET
RESET
RESET
Eventually... after enough pain, deaths and resets... you feel something inside of you break...
But it's not your soul...
...it's your mind.
RESET
You're all the way back to the very beginning.
When you had first fallen down.
But this time, things are gonna be different.
FIGHT
These monsters had hurt you.
FIGHT
They killed you.
FIGHT
They had enjoyed killing you.
FIGHT
They killed others.
FIGHT
They want to kill everyone you know.
FIGHT
You can't let this happen.
FIGHT
You can't let them kill anymore people.
FIGHT
They are monsters.
FIGHT
Insane, cruel, blood-thirsty monsters.
FIGHT
You have to do this.
FIGHT
Even if you know what you're doing is horrible.
FIGHT
Even if it makes you no better than their 'beloved' king.
FIGHT
Even if it makes you hate yourself.
FIGHT
Because if you don't, they'll destroy humanity, including your loved ones.
FIGHT
And if that makes you the villain, then fine.
FIGHT
You're the villain...

(Basically, my version of Genocide Frisk is similar to Asgore. Genocide Frisk/Asgore are doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. They both think that wiping out the other species is the only way to keep their own species safe. Also, constantly dying had driven Frisk a little bit insane. Maybe more than a bit... But remember, this is only a theory, like Chara possibly being the story's narrator.)

Okay I’ve said that Ulysses is Epic the Musical coded from the very beginning (which admittedly is hard not to be because they’re both based on the Odyssey, even if one is way more loosely based).
BUT it’s not like, all of the songs, ya know? I have specific songs which are ingrained in my brain and I can finally tell y’all most of the reasons…
(Also minor spoilers for the canon Ulysses fic “Cycles”)
The Horse and the Infant - [spoilers] but also I like to think the beginning of this song reflects Ulysses in his days as a soldier with Vess, and the final pushes on the front lines which led to Vesperae’s death.
Just a Man - This song sort of inspired what Ulysses was as a character in the very beginning. The idea of what pushes a man to do the things the Telchin did. The desperation, and the loss of innocence, and loss of the self in becoming a monster. I tend to think of this current Fable Ulysses, looking back and trying to find the point he went over the edge as he begs for forgiveness from his friends. Looking into the eyes of the people around him and only being reminded of the things he’s lost and the people he’s hurt.
Open Arms - This only recently occurred to me, and wasn’t something I was going for when I wrote Oenone, but she’s really Polites coded? They were initially conceptualized as sort of loosely what Garden Duo is to Rae, he was to Ulysses, but looking back this attempt at pulling Ulysses back towards kindness… I dunno Open Arms is super Oenone coded. There’s also some flavour of their final interaction before Oenone’s death in the conversation with Eurylochus in Puppeteer, when they’re both older, but like… This one.
Remember Them - In my mind this is Ulysses during the Levithan incident, trying to lead the team of scientists to survival as they run from Leviathan. There’s shades of upcoming lore in this too, but the culmination of himself standing up, throwing his identity on the line to distract Leviathan as the others escape, moving directly into him taunting Lenarius in the prayers in the aftermath.
My Goodbye - LENARIUS👏AND👏ULYSSES👏 a god who viewed a mortal as an acolyte, rejecting them entirely as the mortal becomes disenfranchised with religion as they witness the horrors brought upon them by the gods??? Mr Jorge how did you pull this so directly out of my brain??? The final emotions in Odysseus’ last “You’re alone!” is so much the same energy as Ulysses breaking down in his final confrontation with Len in his attic in the episode “28 - What is Best”.
Ruthlessness - I NEED EVERYONE TO KNOW HOW MUCH I CARE ABOUT RUTHLESSNESS BEING A ULYSSES AND C!OCIE SONG- Ocie giving Ulysses so many chances. Giving him so much kindness, despite knowing what he did, only to finally snap when he tries to help on Oscar, and she learns about what he did to Vorago. God fuck if I could animate THIS would be the song. Ocie chasing Ulysses down in an attempt to finally kill him after he went after her son. Ulysses genuinely trying to be merciful, to help, and it didn’t work. It works in the context of Oscar and of Leviathan, pleading his case that he was only trying to do what’s best, and it’s just… god it’s so perfect to me I have so many feelings- Ocie and Ulysses are such an embodiment of “the line between naivety and hopefulness is almost invisible”, especially in “Ep.28 - What is Best” and “Ep.29 - Spear Fishing”
The Underworld - Just given the many canonical nightmares Ulysses has about those he hurt in the projects, and those he lost in the war… yeah. Yeah this one too.
Monster - In my mind, this is Ulysses immediately after Oeone’s death. Not a brutal snapping point, but a gradual accepting of everything around him. Of all he’s done and has to do. His kindness is a danger and has only left him alone, and caused the only person he cared about to die, and worse, be forgotten. For the first time he truly learns to push away guilt and kindness and humanity, and do whatever it takes to save the telchin, no matter who or what he had to hurt.
Get in the Water - Absolutely current Ulysses and Leviathan. Without a doubt. Like, particularly I’m thinking of them meeting in the telchin temple in “Ep. 12 - Cydonia” and Ulysses not even knowing how to react. His first time seeing the consequences of his action, as Levithan just… finishes what he already started. Not angry. Not malicious. Just… there to kill him. There to do what he has to.

Hey! This might be a kind of stupid (or insensitive) question but I was wondering about mosquitos. I’m actually pretty chill with most insects but they bite, spread diseases and a whole host of other things. I know there are a lot of scientists working right now to reduce mosquito fertility rates which I’m broadly supportive of, but I’m not sure what the unintended consequences are. Like….. would we as a species be okay if mosquitos were eradicated?
it’s entirely a valid question, and a point I hear raised a lot. the answer depends on on how far-reaching your question was intended to be:
an important thing to understand is that there are over 3500 species of mosquito, and of those, only 88 are known to transmit diseases to humans, with about 200 more that potentially could become human disease vectors (Yee et al.) most mosquitoes drink nectar—both males and females—but females typically (but not in all species/forms) require a blood meal from mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, or even other arthropods and invertebrates.
if all mosquitoes were “eradicated,” there would undoubtedly be some very bad effects on the environment, although in the utmost selfish view I’m not fully sure how long they’d take to affect humans.
many plants are pollinated by small flies (like cacao! you can thank biting midges for all your chocolate) and certainly some only by mosquitoes. mosquito pollinated plants likely include many in tropical rainforests, where mutualisms between tiny, unusual species are very common, and oddly enough in the Arctic, where soggy summers create a whole lot of mosquitoes.
likewise mosquitoes are likely an important part of the diets of many bats, birds, spiders, dragonflies, other flies, and fish that might eat the larvae, among many others (including mosquitoes that eat other mosquitoes as larvae, like the beautiful Toxorhynchites). the negative effect on these animals in turn could affect their predators, or all the other ecosystem. if all mosquitoes disappeared, there would probably be significant upheaval across global environments, although I don’t know enough to say exactly what the end result would be. making all mosquitoes go extinct would be a very bad idea though, so it’s a good thing humans have no reason or capability to do that.
but people probably don’t have the 3,000 other mosquitoes in mind when they’re trying to control the flies, it’s that 88 to 300-ish bunch that bite humans and transmit diseases. first off, any genetic/sterility control method that targets non-native mosquitoes is most likely to have only good effects. non-native mosquitoes are reduced, people are bitten less. good on both counts. (it’s still possible certain things might be upset, such as if native species have adapted to use non-native mosquitoes, or if the non-native ones were outcompeting some even worse species. don’t know enough to say.) In many places, this is precisely what’s happening, with Aedes being sterilized, modified, or infected with bacteria that cause some reduction in offspring where it is invasive.
as for eradicating mosquitoes in their native range… it gets a bit tricky. I’m not enough of an ecologist or mosquito biologist to give a clear answer here. I also don’t know if there’s consideration of using control methods like you mentioned on species in their native range.
your question was about making mosquitoes go extinct, though, so I’ll focus on that.
would losing a few species of mosquito that are particularly dangerous to humans result in ecological upheaval? I don’t know. ecology is vastly complicated and when people make big decisions involving pests, we can often make problems way worse, like all the times a predator was introduced and started killing off things we didn’t think they would (this has happened with mosquito control, by the way). extinction only goes one way. I’d say in a hypothetical situation where I could just *poof* away an entire mosquito species, I probably wouldn’t do it. we just don’t know enough about the world yet to make decisions like that.
that’s not to say there aren’t ecologically and human-friendly ways to solve the issue of mosquito-borne disease—reduction of manmade breeding pools, careful biological control, targeted, safe pesticides—and maybe in some cases, sterilization or genetic control are part of the solution. but if it comes down to extinction or not, we’d better consider things very carefully before swatting at entire species without knowing what might happen after.

Neteyam and Spider
Guys it's SO important to me that Neteyam cared about Spider.
In my own personal mind, at first, Neteyam went to meet Spider because both Kiri and Lo'ak were obsessed with the human boy at the lab. He knew his mom disliked the kid though so he mainly went to keep an eye on him and make sure he didn't hurt his siblings. But it becomes clear pretty quickly that the kid is harmless. He's just quick and curious and frankly kind of entertaining.
I think Neteyam would remain semi-wary because for him, especially at a young age, his parents can do no wrong so he has a hard time reconciling what's he's seeing and how his mom feels about the kid.
In my mind I think the final straw for him, kind of the deciding factor on his personal view of Spider would be an incident that I'm going to write in my Spider Chronicles, but it involves Spider saving Tuk when she was a baby during that dangerous moment when everyone's backs are turned for a split second. Spider gets injured in the process and that's when he realizes two things: Spider's human body makes him way more fragile than he thought and that his parents are not gods, they're flawed. I think that realization comes early to all the kids except Tuk because of Neytiri especially's treatment of Spider (like earlier than other kids have the realization that like my parents are people not perfect).
And I think he takes it upon himself to try to make up for some of the pain his parents have caused the boy, so he helps him carve his first bow or maybe gives him his old one. I can see him replicating the fishing experience he had with Jake but in private with Spider instead or looking after him more closely after the incident.
I think Neteyam actually has a tight ball of protectiveness reserved for Spider but he's careful about when and where he shows it because he doesn't want Neytiri to hate Spider more if he overtly shows how much he cares about the boy. The other kids already do and he can see how much it irks his mom so in front of her and Jake he takes a bit more of a neutral stance to kind of keep the peace, which his parents don't pick up on right? Just more of him having this burden of being the eldest and feeling like he kind of has to take care of everyone's feelings.
I don't think Neteyam and Spider aren't close, I think their dynamic just has more layers to it than Spider's relationship with the other siblings do. Lo'ak and Spider are equals to each other, partners in crime, both always down for an adventure. Kiri is his best friend and has always seen him as himself, not human, not like he doesn't belong, just him. Tuk views him no differently either and is kind of blind or at least kept in the dark for the most part about the issues surrounding Spider. But Neteyam is painfully aware of how human Spider is, not in a way of we're fundamentally different, but in the way of he's different, he's treated differently, he's smaller than us, not as fast, and the mere air could kill him. He's just painfully aware of how much of a risk being human in this environment puts Spider in so he always has an eye out for him.
I think Spider would have a bit of a love hate relationship with how Neteyam views/treats him because of that. Like Spider has worked so hard to make up for his disadvantages in the environment and to keep up with them, and he hates Neteyam reminding him how different they are even if he is looking out for him. The other part of him loves that Neteyam cares and craves his attention. I think there's also the dissonance of Spider being older than Neteyam but Neteyam treating him like the younger one of the two. Part of Spider hates it because he's learned he's not allowed to be weak or vulnerable because there's been no one to take care of him or put his well being first, so it feels weird that someone younger than him is. But the part that craves care and attention also loves it. I imagine their relationship being very laden with that kind of dichotomy of Spider's fear of being vulnerable and his need to be cared for.
I think the only reason we don't see Neteyam and Spider be as close in the movie as he is with Kiri and Lo'ak for example is precisely for the reasons I listed above, just that the connotation of their relationship is different.
As he grows up, Neteyam finds himself having to keep a weird balance between being the responsible child, trying to give Spider as much attention as possible but not letting Neytiri really see that, and his duties as a taronyu and son of the Olo'eyktan.
It's overwhelming frankly, but Neteyam's disposition makes him keep quiet. I think he actually is able to relax on the rare occasions he gets some snippets of alone time with Spider because they actually spend time quietly together. Like Spider can be hyper and a handful but he's also able to tone it down and just exist for a while, and he knows Neteyam kind of needs that. So sometimes they just spend like 20 minutes laying on the forest floor next to each other during Neteyam's free time or kind of talk quietly about random things, maybe some human books Spider read recently. I imagine Neteyam would be quite into human literature so he gets it secondhand from Spider cause he doesn't have time to indulge in it himself.
When his parents leave Spider behind to the RDA, it kills him. He'd still had faith in his parents enough that they wouldn't at least, and no matter how he tried to rationalize it in the months following, it still felt wrong to him.
Then the RDA have found them and attack, and Lo'ak is like we can't leave Spider. I don't think Neteyam follows simply because it's Lo'ak asking because we know he does have some authority as the eldest and could have been more insistent about not going back. I think he realized that if they went back to their parents right then and asked them to help get Spider back, they wouldn't consider him a priority AGAIN, so Lo'ak and Neteyam going back for him now are really the only chance he has of escaping the RDA's clutches. So of course he turns back with Lo'ak. He already felt like he'd failed Spider a first time, he wouldn't let it happen again, not to someone he considered his responsibility and he cared for so much.
So yeah... they make me sad and I need more of them just talking or bonding like please.

ARDRA AND REVATI: STAR-CROSS LOVERS?
Ardra, the 6th nakshatra within the 27 nakshatras, resides in Gemini, co-ruled by Rahu. It's also known as the "moist one," referring to its association with moisture in the air, which leads to the formation of clouds and eventually rain. The symbol of Ardra is either a diamond or a teardrop, reflecting its connection to moisture and wetness. This teardrop symbolism encompasses various forms of sorrow, as well as the clarity that often follows a cry. Twilight is set in Forks, Washington, a town known for its very rainy climate. It’s where Bella, a native born under the Revati sun, encounters Edward, who is a native born under the Ardra moon.

Kristen Stewart revati ☉ x Robert Pattinson Ardra ☽ in twilight
Revati, the 27th nakshatra, resides in Pisces, co-ruled by Mercury. Its name translates simply to "wealthy," but alternatively signifies "to transcend," aligning with its position as the final nakshatra. With its focus on duality, Revati symbol of a fish swimming in the sea. This symbol, representing the soul's journey through the universe's waters, has ancient roots. As the last nakshatra, Revati holds significance for Moksha and ultimate enlightenment. It symbolizes the point in time where both material and astral realms merge into the causal realm, eventually transcending into the supreme eternal void. It’s also important to note that Venus exalted in the revati Nakshatra, The energy of Pisces is enhancing Venus's spiritual dimensions of love, beauty, and harmony, allowing for unconditional love and the use of love and art as agents of healing. In my opinion, this is what an Ardra craves: unconditional love.

Olivia Hussey revati Asc x Leonard Whiting Ardra ☉
There are parallels between Romeo and Juliet and Edward and Bella, especially in the second installment of the Twilight saga: New Moon. The book and the 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet are even referenced in the film. Like Romeo and Juliet, Bella and Edward are star-crossed lovers, feeling as if they can't live without each other. There are outside forces that disrupt their romance (rival families or vampirism), yet they still long to be with each other, even if it means in death.
Ardra individuals, due to their deity Rudra, can embody the destructive and transformative essence of Shiva, characterized by chaos and disorder. Under Rudra's influence, they exhibit rapid shifts from joy to sorrow. When fixated on desires like romantic relationships, Ardra natives may harm themselves internally, converting longing into self-inflicted pain. The 12th house symbolizes the "end" and is linked to the subconscious, dreams, and sleep, resembling a temporary state of death. Pisces itself is sacrificial, especially when they love or care for others.
Here are some more revati x Ardra pairings

Alex Lawther Ardra ☽ x Jessica Barden revati ☽ in End of the fucking world
The series follows the journey of two troubled teenagers, James and Alyssa, as they set out on a road trip to find Alyssa's estranged father. James, who considers himself a psychopath and desires to kill someone, views Alyssa as his ideal target. Meanwhile, Alyssa seeks escape from her troubled home life, where conflicts with her mother and step-father prompt her to leave. However, as they navigate through various unexpected and dangerous situations, their perceptions of themselves and each other are challenged. Along the way, they develop a complex and intense relationship, moments of introspection, and unexpected tenderness.

Harrison Dickinson Ardra ☉ + sleeping beauty Elle Fanning revati ☉ in Maleficent 2
Harris plays Prince Phillip, and Elle portrays Princess Aurora in "Maleficent 2." When Aurora agrees to marry Prince Phillip, Maleficent voices her disapproval. Queen Ingrith, Phillip's mother, emerges as an opponent to Maleficent, devising a wicked plan to permanently separate humans and fairies. This creates tension between the two groups. Princess Aurora, who embodies characteristics associated with the Revati nakshatra, will be further examined in a future post.

Strange Things
Tumblr media
Summary: You are forced to go underwater to fix a hole in the bottom of the ship, but your eye catches sight of some strange things Translations at the end
You felt ridiculous. The people on the Cruise Ship were partying and relaxing, not knowing the potential danger they could be in. The captain had told you to go fix a massive hole under the ship and to do that you needed to assess the damage underwater.
You jumped in, with the ridiculous outfit, and began to swim under the moving boat. You were quick to spot torn metal and quickly swam over to it. When you got closer, you realized that it looked very much like claw marks.
You frowned, examining the damage before pulling out your camera to take pictures.
"Everything okay, Y/n?"
"There is some minor damage to the ship's lower deck, but it's an easy fix."
There was a loud banging sound causing you to freeze and look below you. It was dark, but you could see a fish-like thing moving. You clicked the light headset and started to swim lower. It was a bad idea, but not like you wanted to fix the ship to be honest.
You catch the sight of something blue, but before you can investigate your headset goes off again.
"What's taking you so long, Y/n? I thought you assessed the damage?"
You froze, before shaking your head, "Yeah, I'm coming up now..."
---
"That was close," Lance sighed, hiding behind a rock. He watched as you swam away, doing whatever you humans do. He knew Allura would be mad at him for watching the humans and getting way to close, but he couldn't help himself, and it seemed he wasn't the only one.
"Lance."
"It's not what it looks like," Lance held up his hands, trying to defend himself. But ultimately sighed when he saw that the Princess wasn't amused.
Pidge and Hunk hid behind Allura as she scolded the brown haired male. "What if she had seen you, Lance? You would be putting us ALL in danger." She gestures to the other merpeople who had been drawn by the commotion.
He groaned, looking away from her. "What are you so scared of? They're just humans." He crossed his arms and everyone gasped at his tone towards the princess.
She straightened her back and held her self high, "Exactly, they're humans. Selfish, Greedy, No good humans. They'll kill us all."
"You're just being dramatic," He remarks as he swims away, Allura watching him in anger.
----
You shook your head before heaving the tools behind you. You groaned, rubbing your head. You hated being on cruises when you were working, so many people on one tiny boat. It gave you shivers thinking about it.
You looked out one of the windows when you see a red tail and quickly rub your eyes before going out the window again.
"Mon Dieu! J'ai cru voir une grosse queue de poisson¹!" You shook your head, before heading off again. You go toward the engine room, and begin to work on the damages. "Ugh ça va être une longue nuit²..."
Keith hold his breath as he waited for the girl to leave. He had almost been caught and he knows he'd be a hypocrite if anyone found out what he was doing.
He looked back through the window to see that she was gone. He sighed and quickly swam away before he really did get caught.
----
Lance sighs, turning a fork over in his hands. He didn't know what the problem was, he loved the humans. They were so interesting and had such funny stories. He leaned his body onto a rock, not noticing the eyes on him.
"Lance..."
Lance quickly whipped around to glare at the perpetrators. It was his so called friends Pidge and Hunk.
"What are you traitors doing here?"
They both rubbed the back of their heads and sighed. They looked at each other, before swimming towards an angry Lance.
"We didn't mean to make you take the blame for you."
"yeah, we were totally going to tell her we were also there, but..."
"But what? You guys left me out to dry!"
"We're sorry, Lance. How can we make it up to you."
Lance thought for a moment, before his eyes widened, "I want to go on land!"
There was silence for a moment, before the two busted out laughing, which caused Lance to glare at them.
"Sorry Lance, we didn't mean to laugh, but be reasonable. We don't have legs, we have tails."
"There might be a way..."
They all looked back, surprised to see Keith. Then they looked at each other, "How?"
"The Witch."
---
"Keith, this is a really bad idea-"
Keith ignores Pidge, who was tweeting in his ear. Lance was far ahead of them both, excited at the possibility of getting legs and being part of the land world.
"Oh, what do you think it's like," Lance begins to fantasize about the world above. Little did they know, it was burning to ashes.
----
You watched as all the passengers left the cruise ship. You were ecstatic to finally get off the boat for a few hours. You liked the water and all, but it wasn't nearly as predictable as land. You walked down the towards the dock, but your captain called out to you.
"Y/n!"
You turned around, him giving you a dark look. You looked at him confused.
"Be back by 15 hundred."
You nodded and took off. You went to a nearby cafe that was on one of the docks and decided to take your break there. Or at least that's what you wanted to do, but you were intrigued by a group on the beach.
---
"We want legs!"
"Legs you say?" The banished Prince, Lotor, looked at the group, before swimming through his lair and finding a potion bottle. "I may be able to help you..."
The group watch Lotor swim around and drop things into his cauldron. There was lights and the mushrooms glowed brightly on the walls. The group huddled up over the cauldron and looked into the bright glowing liquid.
They then looked at eachother. Pidge, being the voice of reason, finally spoke.
"Guys, I don't know if this is a good idea..."
"Of course it is!" Lance exclaimed excitedly. He holds out his hand as Lotor hands him the bottle.
Lance then hands it to Pidge. "Well, what do I have to lose?" And then Pidge clugs, before tossing it to Hunk.
Hunk looked over at Keith, who was examining the bottle on the shelves.
"Hey, Keith, how about you take it before me?"
Keith turns around towards Hunk, before eyeing the bottle. "I don't know. I like my tail."
"I guess you'll never know what the human world is like," Lotor taunts. "Or that one person... Oh what's their name?"
Keith's fist clench at the mention of the girl he had not been spying on... well, maybe he did, but he knew that's what Lotor meant.
"Fine," Keith grabs the bottle and gulps it down, leaving a tiny bit for Hunk.
---
"I can't believe I let you guys talk me into this," Pidge groaned, trying to step over a rock, but ultimately falling.
"At least we're not naked."
"Bonjour? Est-ce que vous allez bien là-bas³?"
They looked towards the voice; Keith and Lance's eyes widen recognizing the h/c haired girl. You walked down the slippery sand and towards the clumsy group. They were holding on for dear life as they didn't know how to use their new feet.
"Peux-tu marcher⁴?"
They looked at you confused, before the tall, brown-haired male speaks-
"What?"
You shook your head, before going up to help them, "Are you guys okay?"
"Uh, yes. We've never walked before," The bigger male speaks.
"What does that mean?" you ask him confused, by the brunette quickly covers his champion's mouth.
"He's stupid. I'm Lance." The brunette takes your hand, shaking it hard, "That's Pidge and Hunk," He points to the big male and then the smallest guy, "And that grump is Keith. What's your name beautiful?"
"Y/n," You look Lance up and down, before rolling your eyes, "You're not from around here are you?"
"No," Pidge says, shaking their head. "Actually," Pidg steps towards you, "Where are we?"
"Are you ship wreck survivors? I know there was a crash up west-"
"Yes!" Pidge stands straight, but still leans on the rock. Infact, they were all leaning on the walk, like they didn't know how to stand.
"Well, we need to get you to a doctor, make sure you're okay-"
"No, it's fine. We'd really just want to... Uh," Pidge looks towards Lance, who had been insistent on turning into a human in the first place.
"We wanna get back home!" Hunk burst out and you're taken aback.
"Are you sure you can handle going on a ship after what happened?"
"Yes, nothing can stop our hopes and dreams-" Lance speaks but you interrupt him.
"Okay Patriot, I'll go speak to my captain, see what I can't do. Come on," You gesture for them to follow you.
They look at each other, before Pidge takes the first steps, trying to walk towards you, before falling. Pidge groaned, face full of sand. They reminded you of babies learning to walk.
"All that time in the water, you may need to sit down for a while." You went to leave but Lance calls out to you.
"No! She's just being dramatic-" He pushes himself off the rock and slowly walks towards you, the other's soon following. When Lance reached you he jumped, fist bumping the air, "Oh my god, I did it!"
"You walked?" You shook your head, but didn't speak anymore on it.
---
"Je ne pense pas qu'ils soient d'ici. Ils agissent étrangement⁵…" You whisper to your captain when he asked about the people you were with. He looks at the group and back at you as you continue. "Ils ont dit qu'ils étaient des survivants de l'épave à l'ouest⁶."
"If you swear to keep an eye on them, they can work with you. They really want to get on a boat so soon?"
"They were adamant. I've never met people like them before." You look back at the group. Lance and Keith were fighting and Pidge and Hunk were trying to break them apart.
"Okay, make sure to keep them occupied."
----
"Coran, have you seen the others?"
The orange-haired male turned towards the blue-haired princess. "Not since you yelled at them a few hours ago."
"I just want to protect them, I wish they'd see that."
"I know you are princess, but... Well, they love an adventure."
"Yes, I can see that."
----
My God! I thought I saw a big fish tail
Ugh, it's gonna be a long night
Hello? Are you okay there?
Can you walk?
I don't think they are from here. They act strange...
They said they were survivors from the wreckage to the west.

What kind of enemies do the heroes like fighting the most?
Sorry for the delay, I've been having the life sucked out of me
Hellion: any big hulking beast or brute. She likes to measure raw strength against a worthy opponent. Lots to chop, lots to bleed.
Houndmaster: cultists. He loathes them for what he did to that girl and to the gendarmerie as an institution. Feels right, feels like justice.
Vestal: undead. Her power works well against them and she feels like she's helping cleanse the land and put their tormented souls to rest.
Bounty Hunter: brigands. Great opportunity to collect bounties and track names on his list, all while he gets paid by the Heir. Plus, it's always easier to hunt quarry that can be scared shitless.
Jester: remember when I said Sarmenti is afraid of bloodsuckers because of his aristocracy trauma? He also finds killing them incredibly satisfying. He's very normal.
Plague Doctor: she's very curious about the fungal abominations. Her mask ensures she doesn't have to deal with spores inside her lungs, so she doesn't understand why people don't help her get samples already.
Occultist: Alhazred is one of the few who want to match power against power when it comes to eldritch forces of the cosmic kind. He can understand them and seeks them out for similar reasons to why Boudica likes to measure herself against powerful beasts.
Shieldbreaker: she likes hunting the hardier creatures of the Cove. Her spear is well-suited to penetrate their defenses and she can kind of abstract it as a form of fishing. Much less traumatic than most types of battle. Escargot, anyone?
Flagellant: it's not about what it is, it's about how bad it can make Damian hurt. The little freak.
Arbalest: Missandei is pragmatic. If she can find a vital target and not a blob of indistinguishable flesh, she's happy. But she'll admit there were few things as satisfying as shutting Wilbur's squealing mouth with a bolt.
Runaway: the question isn't the type of creature, but how flammable it is. She has a field day in the Tangle, even with Barristan screaming that she'll burn down the forest with all of them inside.
Man-at-Arms: the pelagics are intelligent enough for Barristan to stretch his tactical muscles and inhuman enough for him not to be disturbed by killing them.
Highwayman: I feel like Dismas's spiteful side likes killing Gentry, even though they are absolutely gross and creepy. He spent most of his life ruining the days of rich people and that simply doesn't go away.
Crusader: It switches between the cultists and the undead. Both make him feel like he's doing righteous work, but there are times his brain will associate them with the fallen allies and/or enemies he had in the Crusades. Like Sarmenti, he's very normal about it.
Leper: Baldwin would erase the Fanatics from existence if he could. They stand against everything he believes about faith and civilization.
Musketeer: likes testing her aim against the smaller, faster, skittering beasts. They aren't extremely dangerous, but removing their annoyance is still satisfying.
Abomination: Bigby's beastly side finds the pigmen delicious. Human Bigby had to get used to it.
Grave Robber: gargoyles. It's weirdly specific, but her pickaxe is just perfect to chip away at stonework.
Antiquarian: is sane and doesn't actually like any of the fighting.

I have invented An Animal.
Tumblr media
I'm writing a scene where the protag gets attacked by one right now so I decided to draw them to try and visualize them better.
Pecarli are pretty important in my story! "Pecarli" is the Targasi word for them, but outside of their range most foreigners call them stilt dogs. That's what you'll see them referred to as in textbooks and stuff. Locals really hate it when you call them that though because they are not dogs.
They're a remnant of a coastal forest full of megafauna that was chopped down and became a weird type of ecosystem I'm calling heathland. It's a marsh with very tall grass in the wet winters that looks more like a desert in the dry and hot summers. Without vegetation adapted to prevent erosion, you get a lot of destructive wandering dunes when it's dry or windy, which is often. Most of the forest creatures died out with the trees but some critters are actually adapting perfectly to the new ecosystem and pecarli are a great example of that. Their long legs are good for traversing both the dry dune fields in the summer as well as the marshy wetlands of winter. They can run faster than anything else in the region, so that's how they hunt. They're not stealth predators. Often they'll run straight towards herds of goats, grab one, and then run away before anyone can do anything about it. Like the little domesticated goats they hunt, they're very omnivorous. Their diet is similar to bears. In addition to goats, they eat berries, shoots, roots, eggs, leaves of certain plants, and will scavenge any dead animals or fish they can find.
Pecarli aren't very dangerous to humans. They're killed by shepherds and thus don't tend to get big enough to hunt people. If you cornered one it would easily kill you, but in the wild they're really skittish and get spooked by loud noises. If you see one, you're supposed to yell at it until it leaves. Get too far away from civilization though and the pecarli start to get Big. To venture into the deep heathlands you need to be capable of fighting off a very large animal because nothing in the world can outrun one of these things in the soft terrain.
Mega-forests also still exist in the world. Legends say that there, the pecarli grow as tall as trees.

What do you think about the claims that Aang’s anti killing Is hypocritical because of the Blue Spirit’s rampage and it’s possible that people died when Aang would defend himself and his allies?
If we were to apply real world physics, biology or just common sense to the story, the show would not happen because Aang would have died inside that iceberg - no scratch that, there wouldn't be a story because HUMANS CAN'T CONTROL THE GODDAMN ELEMENTS!
Katara, Aang and Sokka would have also died, or at least being severly injured, with lots of broken bones, and possibly paralyzed from the waist/neck down after their attempt of using the Omashu mail system as a rollercoaster.
Firebenders should accidentally burn themselves all the time since their flames are always either dangerous close to their skin or directly touching it as they are created. Don't even get me started on lightning, especially with stuff like Iroh redirecting lightning FROM THE GODDAMN SKY. Toph should have also gotten severe burns in the finale because of that full-body armor she made with ABSURDLY HOT METAL and that was in direct contact with her skin.
Realistically, Sokka should have not have been able to help evacuate an entire village with not previous plan to do so like we saw him do in "Jet." The man Haru and Katara saved in "Imprisoned" should have been very hurt after all those rocks fell on him, and the fact that no died in that metal ship after all the COAL they threw at FIREBENDERS is absurd.
When the pirates put explosives in Zuko's ship, there's a split second where we can see he created a fire-shield - that would in now way in hell be able to allow him to just be walking around the following episode, with just a few superficial burns that are already healed in season two.
In the season one finale, Zhao very clearly aimed his flames at BOTH koi fish, yet only the one with the moon spirit died. Everything also becomes black and white for no real reason since the moonlight has nothing to do with how humans see things
For fuck's sake, the show full on says "AANG DIED AND KATARA BROUGHT HIM BACK FROM THE DEAD!"
Avatar is a children's show AND a cartoon. It operates on cartoon logic - aka, unless death is explicitly mentioned (Gyatso, Kya, Aang) or VERY heavily implied (Zhao, Jet, Combustion Man) we are supposed to assume that, somehow, everyone survived. The fact that fandom can accept EVERYTHING being unrealistic, then complains that people Aang fought survived the impossible just screams "I don't like that this character in a kid's show doesn't go around murdering every enemy in his path!" or "I don't like Aang because he got in the way of my ship, so I'll take any excuse to pretend he is actually a terribly written character everyone should hate!"
As for the Koizilla situation in particular, lets not forget that the very next episode has Aang having nightmares about it and showing that he very clearly does not know how to control the Avatar State, how it works, or even what it is. Roku literally shows up to EXPLAIN that stuff to him. HOW can we hold Aang accountable for something that was not his decision?
Once again, because of cartoon logic, the only sort of confirmed death was Zhao - and that one was 100% on the Ocean Spirit, since he had already split from Aang.
Not to mention "this person accidentally died because of one of my actions" is not always the same as "this person died because I chose to kill them." It's like the difference between a car crash where the driver wasn't able to stop in time VS literally shooting someone in the face.
Plus, in the finale Aang even reached the conclusion that, if he had no alternative, he WOULD kill Ozai, even though that would obviously take a great psychological/spiritual toll on him, because it would be ONE LIFE TAKEN AS A WAY TO SAVE THOUNSANDS, and even before that he had no problem with things like Sokka killing Combustion Man or even full on admiting "Fire Lord Ozai is a terrible person and the world would probably be a better place without him".
It's pretty clear that, even if Avatar DID go there and said "sometimes people died in battles against the Gaang", it would still NOT contradict Aang's beliefs, and therefore he is NOT a hypocrite, and the idiots of the fandom can die mad about it.
