Every version of Tails in prime connected with Sonic but not exactly as overtly. It should be said that when threatened Mangy hid behind SONIC first. And Sails was ready to follow him into hell or high water with just a bit of belief.

also yeah !! i think tails will always be connected with sonic no matter the universe, however i think sails and mangey were not in desperate NEED of him since they both still had a team by their side.

Nine was always alone and he never had a sense of comfort or security, this is why we see him immediately attached to sonic as soon as he gets over the initial defensive stance. He saw sonic, who treated him right, and who seemed to love him and care for him or at least for other version of him, so he goes beyond anything sails or mangey could've felt, he wanted a world just for him and sonic because it's the only place he would deem safe.

tho we do see tails flying with his tails because of sonic, or sails putting all his trust in him even tho the dread was his captain, show he does need him a bit in both cases, but ofc nine needed him the most, almost in a crazy way, but he's a traumatized lil kid who never had anyone in his life, what tails would've been had he never encountered sonic.

tails is the last of the boys to call tom and maddie his parents because unlike his older brothers he’s never had a family before and either has no idea he’s been adopted or is afraid of getting attached to people that could shut him out like his village did

people everytime they see tails: is anyone going to adopt this fox ? no ???

no but seriously, i think that what tails needed the most was a friend/brother and they found each other... tails wasn't expecting parents or an extra brother AT ALL but if he gets to have them... that's a plus, right ?

and since he wasn't expecting them i think he will just eventually start calling tom and maddie as his parents but maybe after a long time, when he feels completely safe

(so much trauma in this family they have to get to work)

or maybe he just starts copying sonic, who knows

mangey’s arc can’t be finished! he may have learned to fly, but he still needs to know about inventing!

yesssss, he has a lot to do !!! I meant that the jungle group arc seems to be finished in prime but i would really like it if we could go back to them in future episodes aaaaa

I would also love to know how this version of tails could develop his inventor traits out in the jungle, would be really interesting to see him in action in a totally different environment where he can't rely on technology and doesn't even know what that is.

(also once again a version of tails that grew up and will continue to grow up without sonic by his side)

plottwist sonic gave shadow tails’ fridge as a “courting gesture” so in turn he stole amy’s (with the help of knuckles) and put it in tails’ house and now amy has no fridge
