I love merthur and i love destiel too, and I added that scene from spn to make a comparison between the two ships. It wasn't meant to take anything away from the original post, but my intention was to give it a new light in addition (as people do on this site) by drawing a parallel with another piece of media. A lot of destiel fans love merthur too and i thought the op could get more reblogs and likes on their gif this way (reaching another fandom too).

I know how to make my own posts, I did plenty of them, actually.

What i don't know how to do is gifs, and i have deep appreciation for people who make them, and it is my understanding that they like exposure for their posts, so that their hard work can reach more people.

This is why i reblogged it.

My tags on the reblog were about both ships, i didn't deviate from the original post ignoring it to only talk about another ship (which would've been rude), so i didn't think it could be offensive in any way.

queerbaiting is when the promotion for a FICTIONAL STORY intentionally hints towards two characters having a romantic relationship, without any intention to follow through in the show, in order to get queer people watching without discouraging the homophobic enjoyers of the show

queerbaiting is NOT:

a celebrity who you think is queer because theyre gnc or they have a 'vibe'. that is a real person and they cannot queerbait

two friends of the same gender pretending to flirt with each other for fun. those are real people and they cannot queerbait

a show with two characters of the same gender who are canonically friends that YOU PERSONALLY think would be better in a relationship. that's not bating, that's shipping, and subject to opinion

there are more but those are the main examples of people misunderstanding what queerbaiting is and being mad at something that isn't actually a problem

#the general rule if youre unsure is to ask yourself 'is that a real person i think is hinting that they are queer' and if the answer is yes #then that cannot be queerbaiting because thats a human person #apparently this is not a known fact anymore but even celebrities are human and have human emotions and human experiences #so sometimes their experiences appear to match yours and if your experience stems from your queer identity then often you can assume that #the celebrity in question is also queer #you may be right but you're probably wrong because you do not know that celebrity and have no way of knowing if they do not explicitly say #also its none of your business #anyway im annoyed at how many people dont know what queerbaiting is anymore #no jimmy solidarity and joel smallishbeans are not queerbaiting because they are FRIENDS and they are allowed to interact with each other #however they like because they are FRIENDS and they are not even remotely trying to hint that they themselves are queer or something #queerbaiting #queer #lgbtq #wren wrambles

I'm gonna say it again: OFMD is not niche. It was a major sleeper hit when it came out, big enough for Max to take a Season 2. It has major talent behind it (yeah, sorry, Taika Waititi is a name, he has a lot of clout, and he put his weight behind this). It has been critically acclaimed for two seasons.

Post-merger, Max tried to bury Season 2. (Zaslav likely couldn't actually cancel it because of contracts, but that's just my assumption. We know that Zaslav is homophobic and racist, and we can see that in what has happened across WB since he took over. Dude is a Major Villain, and not solely because of this.) They cut the budget and episode length. Cast members had to be let go, filming locations rearranged. They released it on a ridiculous schedule that allowed for no longevity or word of mouth to develop. The network was trying to kill it.

They failed to kill it. Damn thing got rave reviews and big numbers, despite little promotion AND a writers' and actors' strike (in which a lot of the cast and crew visibly and audibly participated). Publications were shouting that it was a flagship show for Max. Publications do not say this because one of their writers likes a show; they say this because the numbers look right to them.

This is not a niche show that a few people liked and that fizzled out. It is one of the more prominent queer shows out there, and it is also one of the more prominent comedies on streaming. Max tried to kill it and it has failed to stay dead.

This doesn't mean that some other streamer will definitely pick it up, but stop with the narrative of "get over it" or "there are other shows." Your fave is next, my friend, because if this one has to fight tooth and nail to maybe possibly get a third season...?

I feel like people don't appreciate enough that Dandelion is a fast slippery little fucker. Granted we don't see this much since the books are heavily Geralt POV, but it's mentioned that a lot of his dalliances involve him scaling up houses, jumping out of windows, sliding down drainpipes, running along rooftops etc and that is hard as fuck to do

He's basically committing AssCreed level parkour and is able to outrun almost anyone who comes after him. When he's not travelling with Geralt, he has to be able to get out of trouble by himself somehow and since he's not a fighter that means being good at running, hiding and talking

Not only this but in Last Wish, as someone pointed out on my posts once, it's shown that when riding his horse, he can effortlessly lift one leg to hook over the pommel of his saddle while playing his lute at the same time the horse is moving. That's a lot of skill and balance and knowing your own horse's temperment and what they're willing to put up with. He's not just a casual rider he's an experienced rider pulling off shit that you'd only see from pros
