One thing that really pushes me away from certain breeds is that their communities can be so diehard "If you don't do sports with your dog then you're wasting your dogs potential and abusing them", and I just don't vibe with that. I love dog sports and watching dogs have fun and do what they're bred to do, but I also understand that you don't have to do sports to fulfill your dogs needs for stimulation and fun. Living a lowkey life isn't abuse.
But I also don't give a shit regardless, because its my dog and ill do sports if I want to, not because I feel pressured.

SB exists to guilt those in Faerghus who are just trying to defend their homeland. There's really nothing more deep than that. Make the victims feel guilty for daring to oppose the Waifu red emperor conqueror trying to invade them. That's legit the only reason Shez says that to Ashe about "wHY yOU make Lonato FeeL bAd?"
It really is sad how both games and in Hopes two routes just make them seem terrible for defending their home. I appreciate that Claude eventually is a bit pissed that they didn't even consider why Dimitri was fighting because they were too focused on finding Rhea in the battle and that they need to consider Dimitri too, but I hate that most of the time they're made out to be "wrong" for fighting back.
I understand that Rhea being there means they have to get past the Kingdom, but like Dimitri and his retainers said, they had the choice to shield her and fight the Empire or submit their lands to the Empire. They knew all along Edelgard was out for conquest and knew what would happen if they didn't fight back. Out of nowhere their only choices were to surrender their territory and laws to the Empire, or to protect the Church's people who had never wronged them and only ever assisted them during troubling times. Either way they already had a shitty decision to make and I've actually seen people say Dimitri chose to be part of the war. Like, no, he chose to fight back because it's not fair for them to lose their lands/their authority to the Empire for doing absolutely nothing to the Empire. He could've left Rhea and her people to fend for themselves, but the Empire would eventually still attack them, as proven by them attacking Leicester who was not shielding the Church's people.
I would understand more if it was written to be directly from the Empire's perspective, like, them framing them as being at fault because "your land used to be the Empire's land", but all the routes kind of portray it as "Faerghus BaD because they respect themselves and their home and don't think deserve this". SB is just the most notorious about it and makes Dimitri out to be a villain for... doing absolutely nothing. He was minding his business and working on internal affairs while the Empire and Alliance were going at it. He could've taken a side and just joined in to help Claude's side, but he didn't. He stayed out of it as much as possible and only defended when attacked.
That line from Shez was just atrocious to me lol. Everyone knows Lonato was a turncoat and that should be reason enough for everyone to understand why Ashe wanted to fight. It had nothing to do with making Lonato feel bad. If Lonato felt bad about it then that's on him and he had to have known that was a risk for his choices when his own son was a royal knight for the king that he was betraying. Ashe made a decision based on Lonato's pre-existing decision.
Honestly besides for Shez being questionable sometimes, Empire Shez is... like I said before, kind of a psycho and a huge manipulator. Convincing Ashe he's in the wrong for fighting for his homeland and king is awful, and Empire Shez also wants to murder Claude who is also just defending his home from the Empire and have him be a trophy for the Empire because Empire Shez just wants money even if it means killing the guy who was very kind to you two years ago.
I don't feel like I'm being bias toward the Kingdom when I say this, but Faerghus Shez is the one who seems to have actual friendships and genuinely cares for the people around them. Like, most of the time when I point things out about Faerghus it's not based on a pre-existing bias, but that that bias comes into existence because they're the more humane people. I hate how it's the good, humane people who get made out to sound like villains for fighting back and not just letting someone take over their country.
By those standards, the irl war going on right now is like, these people are wrong for defending their home against their invader and should just let themselves be conquered because ??? Pooface wants to conquer so they should just let themselves be conquered ???
Like... that's not how it works lol, if you get attacked you fight back. People defending themselves against invasion is not wrong and it's disgusting for Faerghus to be treated that way. If it was an irl situation it would not be treated that way and that's literally happening in real time irl. Right now what's happening is no different than Faerghus being invaded by the Empire, and most of the world's continents and countries are on irl Faerghus' side and helping by sending what help they can. So... I'm not sure how anyone could play Hopes and walk out thinking Faerghus is bad for defending their home then turn around and be the exact opposite person with the war happening in our own world.

Another thing I really love about Adrian is Adrian was not a nice guy who went bad when his family died. In all his titans appearances hes a asshole at the end of his rope and its clear hes Losing Faith In The Legal System in a very right wing way, constantly talking about how theres TOO MANY LOOPHOLES and the bad guys ALWAYS GET OFF SCOTT FREE and it culminates in him tricking Robin into helping him break into a guys house. Adrian even pulled a gun on him
Later in Vigilante 1983 issue 3 when he explains why hes doing vigilante shit to Cyborg the death of his family doesnt come up until the end. His main reason is he got sick of Seeing Guilty People Go Free.
Like instead of the standard antihero tough guy backstory of having ONE BAD DAY or whatever Adrian’s using the genuinely terrible thing that happened to him as a excuse to do something he probably wouldve ended up doing in the end anyway and its such great stuff.
He also IS genuinely effected by his families deaths, he has PTSD and gets terrible nightmares and All Consuming Survivors Guilt, as well as having issues with dissociation and such. Its just not the reason hes a the vigilante, thats just because he sucks
