Yukine's journey toward acceptance of the life that was robbed of him, this time with finality, exemplifies the emotional and beautifully rendered arc that has defined his character.

Yukine finally accepting the reality of his death. Yukine stepping out from the fridge that contained memories of what was once his life. Yukine freeing himself from the shackles of his trauma. Yukine running to protect the person who cherished him the most in the world. Yukine standing up to an abusive father. Yukine wholeheartedly apologizing. Yukine's growth, and Yato tearing up as he stretches his little arms to pull him for an embrace.

Yukine's gratitude for what Yato did for him is evident throughout the series. He was given a name more precious than any other. He was treated like a human--an ordinary teenage boy. And life after that was one exciting journey after another. Now, Yukine can no longer be entirely consumed by the horrors of his past because he knows that his reality with Yato is so much brighter. Far brighter.

Yukine could break out from that refrigerator because of the true, sincere, and nurturing love shown by the only father figure in his life. Yato has said multiple times throughout the series that Yukine was his priority above all else, and Yukine was the only person he swore to protect the most. Hell, he even went straight to hug him after Yukine apologized for turning into that form! Yato did not need to summon Yukine. Yukine came to protect Yato on his own decision. As he always did.

The journey to their healing will be painful, and this chapter shows that Yato and Yukine will face it together. No more secrets and no more miscommunications. They will help and be by each other's side as they always have, not only as god and shinki but, this time, as family.

A silly little idea I came up with (or actually I’ve had it for a while) when I was talking to Kazin, and as always, she drew it out for me… xD

The idea is that if Yuma goes into (or is forced) into a Mystery Labyrinth while he’s sick; in the Labyrinth, the illness temporarily disappears since they are in an alternative dimension. So while healthy, he can solve the mystery with no obstacles.

However…when he leaves the Mystery Labyrinth? His condition worsens. Depending on how long he was in there, or how much energy he used, it’s all transferred to his body outside, and…yeah he practically collapses.

I take umbrage with this statement in the larger context of the show this season because Mando still has yet to have what I think is a pretty significant conversation with the Armorer concerning why he removed his helmet in the first place since that ⬆️ was precisely why he did it

This season has largely brushed past one of Din’s biggest internal conflicts by never showing the audience how he feels as an exiled member beyond him asking how he can atone, not discussing with the Armorer why the transgression was done or in what context— which they apparently didn’t have to address because hey, look, the kid’s back with him again, oh also we’re not going to talk about that despite the Armorer telling him to take the kid back to his own kind in season 1— making it barely an inconvenience to ‘redeem’ himself in the end anyway, and by overshadowing his ritual redemption by knocking him out when he goes into the waters and having him sink to the bottom, having to be saved by Bo-Katan (when we still don’t know why she saved him at all), AND by having his return to the covert and Armorer be overshadowed by Bo-Katan’s out of place induction into the covert.

If they want to credit Bo-Katan with ‘saving’ the Mando kid because she headed up the hunting party even though Din was the one to actually grab the kid in the end, fine, whatever, but it is also the most overt way to again show that everything of value that Din has done this season has still been pushed to the side in favor of showcasing Bo-Katan

Unless they’re leading up to Din having some ego issue regarding Bo-Katan’s popularity and place within the covert because of how much he’s being shoved aside (which is entirely out of character for him), I’m not sure why they aren’t making him and his character more of the focus of the season. We’re not getting anything from him regarding his feelings or direction in terms of the bigger picture, which is why all of the episodes feel like filler— They’re achieving plot points like a checklist instead of showing us how Din feels about anything by not tying the emotional stakes to the physical ones. There’s no tension or narrative weight to any of these actions. His dialogue regarding the Creed, his redemption, and teaching and bonding with the kid (his character’s two main focuses) has been factual and exposition-y without feeling like his story is being told.

Bo-katan is. #and unfortunately I think it’s a little late in the game to establish this as an ensemble show. #if you wanted that you should have established it in season 1

as an apology for not posting actual content for so long (I’ve been so stressed with job hunting and school things and poor mental health) here’s a little kuroo thought I had, that I will maybe expand on in the future in a full fic:

he would take the absolute best care of you when you’re not feeling all mentally there, okay???

depressive episode and have a hard time taking care of yourself? he’s laying in bed with you and caressing your cheek, slowly coaxing you into taking a shower with him. he’s careful about making sure it doesn’t come off as shaming you for being unhygienic- he knows how hard it is for you to even feel things some days, let alone care enough to do basic self care. but that’s okay, that’s exactly why he’s there.

he’s so patient with you, slowly sitting you up and rubbing your back as you wipe your eyes, looking at him so pitifully, apologizing for being such a burden-

“hey, no, none of that. you’re not a burden to me. you deserve all the care and patience in the world, okay? i’m here for you, i love you. just let me help you, sweetheart.”

he gets you in the shower and takes on the responsibility of making it a pleasant experience- he’s humming your favourite song, scrubbing your arms with a loofa and making you crack a small smile when he tries to make you a bubble beard out of the suds. and then later, he’s kneeling in front of you, drying you with a soft, warm towel fresh out of the dryer, getting you into fresh clothes and carrying you to the kitchen for a hearty meal. even if you don’t feel up to eating it all, he’s fine with that. he just needs to know that you have food in your stomach. 

if you’re going through a patch of intense stress and anxiety that is just festering and not being released properly? also extremely patient. he will handle the rise in irritation like a champ, never holding it against you if you accidentally snap at him or get more intense than usual. he will remind you that he loves you and that it will pass. he will talk you through every panic attack you have, never judging you about what sets you off, even if it’s just the smallest inconvenience. and if what you were stressed about doesn’t end how you were hoping it would? he’s holding you as you finally let yourself break down and sob into his chest. he’s reminding you that he loves you no matter what, he doesn’t think that you’re a failure. he will stand with you until you’re able to get back on your feet, never once thinking anything less of you.

and let’s talk about the general affirmations he would give you throughout your entire relationship, yes, but especially when he knows you’re going through it. telling you how much he loves you, how fucking proud he is that you keep getting up every morning- he reminds you that your best right now is more than enough.

i just think he’d be so amazing and understanding with a s/o who struggles with their mental health and i need him to be here with me immediately.

Had this thought and thought you might understand it. I know Poe Dameron is played by Oscar Isaac, but when I see Poe, I don't see Oscar, I just see Poe. Like, they look the same, but also they don't. I see Poe as his own separate person.

Or, I could just be crazy.....

Nope, nope you're definitely not crazy, I talk about this all the time with my friends. Oscar is one of those rare actors that just kind of disappears into his roles — and no two characters even physically look the same, and it's not just because of hair or stubble ratio or whatever, there's just something different about him every time.

It really properly struck me last year (though I noticed while working through his filmography in 2021 that I also never thought about Poe watching any of his other movies) when I happened to have, I think, a Marc header on my blog and then one afternoon my top post was a gifset of Poe — and the difference was so staggering i sat there and stared between the two for a long time because even though i know 100% it's the same actor, im like. that's two entirely different people who just kind of look alike.

I also like tossing Santiago out as an example for this because man:

it blows my goddamned mind that Triple Frontier came out the same year as the Rise of Skywalker, because again, that is NOT the same man. But yet also it is!!!! This man is Talented, goddamn.
