I’m so happy with this gradient it’s soooooo smooth. This shawl is a real challenge to knit both because of the structure of this yarn and the actual pattern itself is written in a way that’s really frustrating, but at least it’s beautiful enough to only be slightly extremely annoying.

He's going to be scrunched until i cast off lmao.

#Tekoha (Kheprriverse) #rambling mood today #i decided on a whim to work on Tefke’s ref last night as an indulgent thing since ive been working on comic pages all week #and i havent given him or safiya any attention sicne i first designed them #theyre twins but theres no ‘whos gonna take over the throne when the time comes’ #because twili just live an incredibly long time. so theyre both kinda doing their own thing #but the answer would be Safiya #Safiya is a researcher focusing on the relationship between tech and magic #Tefke went military mode and trains army recruits--much like his dad he doesnt have very good magic attunement and makes up for it in comba #tefke is also resident little guy #Tefke is gonna be the one with a little bit more spotlight tho coz of the current conflict but i promise Safiya will appear as well #i'll share their wips soon when theyre both done. but if yall wanna see Tefke early just lmk ig

Fun Fact: I’ve only drawn human RGB once before (if we’re not including the back of his head, then it’s twice). That first time was Sept 2020. I learned how to draw and paint human faces last year.

god damn it okay this is like a largely unedited dump of a teeny bit of what’s swirling around in my head but HERE they’re “vampires” but it’s in the future and they’re also priests that give sermons but the sermons are really just insights to their characters and a aaa hhhh (I think this could be a good introductory scene)

(this is the short one I wrote, ~500 words)

“Good and dear Mother, I pray that you see the light and truth that shines within my sinful existence. I pray that you and our Father open your arms to my rightful suffering so that I may one day bask in the promised land with you. I pray that my devotion to you helps me seek the right and true way, that your guiding light of forgiveness washes away the depravity in my soul. Amen.”

Silead’s voice reverberated throughout the vast emptiness of the congregation room. The heavy black hood of her regalia seemed to swallow the whole of her head, casting it in deep shadow. She slowly rose from her knees, her hands still clasped around the string of beads hanging from her neck as the eyes rimmed by thick lashes opened.

“Our Mother and Father see all of our sins, and will purge them from our souls should we strive to prove our devotion. I bid you all a good evening. May you seek the light of peace.”

She slowly dipped her head in reverence, then raised a hand to press at the soft spot behind her left ear. Silead removed the hood from atop her head just as the white film over her irises flickered and gave way to the brown that lay underneath. She sighed, dropping the rosary from her other hand. It bounced softly against the embroidered fabric of her robe.

Her gaze moved over to the tall, broad-shouldered man who leaned with his arms crossed against one of the six marbled pillars in the room. Seeing that she’d finished her sermon, he approached the altar.

“Hey.”

“Hey, Cas. Feeling sinful today?” It wasn’t often, or ever, really, that he’d sit in.

“I guess I always am. Although,” he took the rosary off of Silead’s neck and gently placed it on the wood of the altar behind her, “You okay? That uh, that was quite the talk today.”

Silead shrugged. “Wasn’t much different from the other bullshit I say every day.”

“Hm, yeah, I’ve only ever really listened to Boz. He’s very factual these days.”

“Good,” she said, “Means we bullied him enough about the snide scripture commentary.” Her hands started unbuttoning the many layers of her robe. She swore as a rogue thread snagged around a button she’d just freed.

“You need something, Cas?” He hadn’t said anything, instead opting to help take the ridiculous outfit off.

“Just wanted to check in on you. I feel like we haven’t talked much this past week.”

The question he’d really asked was not subtle.

“I’m okay, Cas,” she said with a note of irritation, “I haven’t been out indulging.” Cas’ hands stopped fiddling with one of the buttons.

“Alright, I get it,” he said carefully, “Where have you been, though? Boz says he’s barely seen you too.”

Silead shrugged. “Around. You know I get restless if I stay cooped up in here for too long. I went uptown for a little bit. It was nice - we should go sometime.”

Cas ruffled her blonde hair with a broad hand. “Sure, I’d like that.”
