Timelapse of the latest Dramione Lady of the Lake by Colubrina art, for the podfic!

Im only just starting to embark on my "timelapse learning journey", so this timelapse starts in the middle because I saved the first hour wrong and it got lost into the ether :/ I expect I'll get better at the timelapse thing as it goes on. The tentative plan is to learn how to do timelapses on my tablet, and then use Remote Desktop to access my PC so that the timelapse will show both the hand-painting in Sketchbook Pro, and the image generation in A111

After that step, I shall endeavor to learn how to *gasp*, edit video! ::dies slightly inside::, then make a narration track, before finally ::dies completely and then raises again as an ai tool art zombie:: make a YouTube channel on how to do Ai Composition Art. Ai Comps for the win!

after fucking around with AI art generators for a bit last night, i really don't get why AI bros are so gung-ho about it. i was trying to get it to generate something close to my fursona for a while and it would just constantly be unable to generate specific details like the heart-shaped goggles, or constantly make the fur orange despite me weighing that negatively.

it's also funny how i can just copy-paste sections from other prompts and instantly have the art come out 10x better. such skill on display there! *eyeroll*

another extremely funny thing is how hard you have to tell the generator to NOT make bad art or generate fucked up hands, and it'll still make fucked up hands! imagine having to beg an artist on your hands and knees not to fuck up the art you're getting them to draw, and they still decide to give the characters extra fingers and melty faces.

overall this whole experience just kinda left me bored and frustrated. i guess if you dont have a specific vision, wanna grift people with "adoptables", or just wanna generate wank material it's fine. but if you actually care about the output? i don't see how it can be appealing.

really, it just made me wanna go to the artists used in the prompts and commission them for actual art of my fursona.

one time a friend asked what art programs were good & i said i recommend krita esp for something free & she got really scared like "oh but my other friend said thats really only a beginner art program & u cant do good things on it" & i just kinda went "well thats so funny that she says my arts good then bc i literally only use krita"

#once again it is not necessarily the tools u have so much as learning how to use them #im petty. any art program can be good. depends on ur workflow yes but like. even ms can make wonders

ngl i genuinely wholeheartedly think i paint best in paint tool sai 1.0 theres just smthn so distinct about the rendering thats unique in sai pieces vs stuff i do in csp or procreate. i can get CLOSE but its not the same

#i dont like 2.0 as much even though it has more features #and csp is really great bc im mobile and inconsistent so i alwaus need to switch up workflow and tools or i will die #but i will die on the hill that the brush engine of paint tool sai is my favorite and its rlly a shame theres nothing that feels right #hypotheticallt i trust gimp and krita to be able to replicate my sai brushes but i dont think the specific ones i paint with will ever work #because my main brush is SO specific to how sai handles stamping if that makes sense #ONE DAY THOUGH. I WILL MAKE A PERFECT VERSION THAT WORKS ACROSS PROGRAMS #(preferrably gimp krita and procreate. i have a VERY CLOSE one in csp tho) #and on that day ohohoho i will finally be unstoppable truly #and maybe im actually just being a dweeb and theres no visual difference/it doesnt matter as much as i think it does #but i wish. just a boring astolfo doodle bc i was trying out going back to krita instead of clip studio and i needed a thing to draw

going back to not having the ‘close gaps’ feature in the bucket fill tool is SO frustrating but maybe relatedly this way it seems to require much less cleanup when i do eventually manage to find all the leaks?

...also, i have never before actually seen that different apps will have somewhat different color profiles for displaying the same image and now that i have it is driving me a little insane

#astolfo #i need to familiarize myself with more characters #im not sure how i feel about how lately whenever i want to just draw something without thinking about it i wind up drawing an astolfo #the magic wand auto-selector thing doesn't close gaps either which makes sense i guess but is almost more frustrating than the bucket fill #not being able to just right-click to pick colors is annoying #you have to switch to the color picker tool and back #which is WAY slower given how often i want to do that #but maybe there's some other workflow for color palettes i'm supposed to use? #but i do like all of the brushes in krita i don't know how to find ones i'll like on the clip studio store really #i like the one keypress for mirrored view #and you know its open source. one day i will run out my pile of clip studio free trials
