rewatching the first episode of Hannibal and holy shit I forgot how good this is but it's actually insane that Brian fuller set up the ep like this, he introduces will and Hannibal by first briefly showing them at their core, at the darkest, most vile part of them---we get a glimpse behind the curtain---and then its gone, the curtain is snapped shut and we see their masks, their human suits.

Will empathizes with killers because he likes it, and he wants to kill but he refuses to give into the urge because he knows how much he'll like it and he won't be able to stop. So he lives vicariously through other killers, satisfying his own dark urge by feeding it little morsels of secondhand blood lust. Every crime scene he works gives the urge something that satisfies it, not enough for it to grow, but enough for it be sate. Enough that he can ignore it for long enough that he can walk around and be Professor Will Graham who is Weird, Brash, and Non-sociable.

And Hannibal is a cannibal at night and a psychiatrist by morning.

This is weird to type right after releasing another fic. I've been debating this for a little while (which is why I've been on an off on tumblr lately), but I'm taking a break from Tumblr. I do apologize if I haven't talked to you lately if you were my moot, there's been a lot of shit going on lmaoo. The people I've been surrounded by aren't toxic, but the way I feel kind of pressured to release fics is.

Plus, school is kicking my fucking ass. Exams are coming up, I have to get ready for those. My grades are ugh, and I'm not definitely not fucking failing after the hard work I put into my education. A lot of personal stuff has been going on aswell. Ever since October it's just been, rough. I'm just going to take a break from writing for a little bit until I get in a space where I actually can, healthily.

I'll release another fic, but it's more of for one person and not for all of my followers or anything. I should be back in likeee 2 weeks, I might be on to talk to others, I might not. I don't know. But, I wanted y'all to know before I fucking disapper. byyyee! :D

It’s annoying that people only see in black and white because then you get people consistently saying that “Gojo is such a father figure to Megumi!” or saying he outright is his father.

Y’all can’t seem to understand dynamics that aren’t parent <—> child and it’s quite annoying. Gojo was 15 when he met Megumi. I guarantee you he was not the sole provider nor a “parent” in his life, he’s much more suited to be an older brother to Megumi than a father.

And this isn’t to say anyone who sees that dynamic as a parent <—> child is dumb or necessarily wrong, but it’s annoying that you’re immediately putting both of them in categories that really don’t suit either of them in their relationship.

Megumi is a fascinating character for many reasons and personally, one of them is because of a lack of parent. Gege made Megumi’s lack of parental figures in his life obvious and it’s a disservice to his writing to push Gojo – a character that is clearly not supposed to be written as one – into that role.

And Megumi has never shown love to Gojo as a father, it’s always been a student <—> teacher dynamic shown in situations where it’s serious and when it’s more lax it falls more into weird annoying older brother <—> quiet reserved younger brother

The fact is Gojo and Megumi has never had a parental dynamic. Please learn more dynamics than that

Edit: if I remember correctly, either the jujutsu school or Zen’in clan paid for both Megumi and Tsumiki’s bills etc? So canonically anyone saying Gojo took on the responsibilities of a father to them is wrong
