Fruit? As in the stuff that synth paste is supposed to taste like? I like the watermelon flavor best? Wonder what actual watermelons were like…

I'd grew up constantly sweaty in tank tops and cut offs… So now I prefer any day I can wear a leather jacket. Bring on the rain. 

Favourite flower?

I'd rather Johnny bring home pizza than flowers… can that be my answer? 

Favourite scent?

Leather, smoke, mezcal or good tequila… oh no… 

Coffee or tea?

Japanese tea. I do like coffee but I have a weak heart… among other things these days. 

Average hours of sleep?

Shit. I have no average. I'm a bit of a binge sleeper… I'll go without much for days and days and then crash for an obscene number of hours. 

Dog or cat person?

Grew up with a stray that wandered into our nomad camp. He was my beloved best friend. Dogs are now a rare commodity in NC, only the richest can afford the fees. Maybe one day though, I'll make it big enough that I can have a dog again. 

Dream trip?

I'd love to swim in clean clear water that isn't contaminated. I've seen photos of a few tropical places that are still preserved… Yeah, I’d like to see that. 

Favourite fictional character?

Just one? I have so many. I'm big retro film buff - love the real old classics my grandparents were into. Some favs of are, Foxy Brown, Ellen Ripley, Tank Girl (Rebecca), Leeloo, Beatrix Kiddo, Imperator Furiosa, and Sarah Conner (my choom, Vian turned me on to her!) 

Number of blankets you sleep with?

⅓ of one because Johnny is fuckin blanket hog. 

Random fact?

Have some informal ballet training passed down from my mother who learned from her grandmother who danced professionally and toured around the country. I like to think the skill keeps me light on my feet and flexible - but Johnny says it makes me look too dainty with a gun. 😡

Valerie Vermilion

✨ Her First Cyberdeck

V got her first cyberdeck at age 10 when she stole an old one from a used tech dealer in a street market. She wanted one for a long time after seeing some older streetkids use them to hack vending machines for food. She taught herself to use it by hacking all the appliances in the apartment. Mark -- her guardian after her mother Virginia died -- used her skills to supplement dinner and his low wages from his job at Night City Maintenance Department. V didn't mind. It gave her an excuse to be out of the tiny apartment when he was home, and it turns out she's pretty damn good at it. In her late teens, when she starts to be able to save up money, she is able to upgrade to an implanted cyberdeck.

✨ Tech Skills

While her primary specialty is quickhacks, V also loves to dabble with hardware. To her mother's dismay, Val took apart their radio when she was six, then spent six months putting it back together. It never quite sounded right. That Christmas, Virginia scrimped and saved and picked up extra johns so that she could buy Val a good quality multi-tool.

A few months later, Virginia died an innocent bystander in a shootout between Tyger Claws and Maelstrom and, of course, the NCPD. Mark, a middle-aged man who never wanted kids, took guardianship of Val, only because of a promise he made to his favorite cousin, and he couldn't turn away the pathetic creature who turned up on his doorstep clutching her radio and a trash bag with a handful of clothes and a ratty old teddy bear that was losing its stuffing.

Mark didn't know what to do with a grieving seven-year-old, and gave her the closet in his studio apartment so she could have some privacy. With that multi-tool from her mother, V spent days at a time alone in there. She took that radio apart again and obsessively worked on it until it sounded better than ever. V still carries the multi-tool.

✨ Her Mother's Necklace

Val didn't have many physical mementos from her mother. They shared a tiny studio with another joytoy/friend of Virginia's, and had few material possessions. V can't remember the roommate's name, can only see her banged up, second-hand faceplate with permanently etched eyebrows. Upon Virginia's death she immediately found a replacement roommate and was ready to displace Val onto the street. She also kept most of Virginia's small wardrobe, though Val did save the necklace that her mother regularly wore -- a simple lab-grown ruby, which was Virginia's birthstone. In her late teens, after she started getting real gigs as a netrunner, V saved up her eddies and replaced the synthetic ruby with a real one. She rarely goes without wearing it.

✨ First Kiss & Girlfriend

When she was fourteen-going-on-fifteen, she decided she knew what was best for her life and moved out from Mark's closet. He had tried to enforce a curfew after she got busted by NCPD for trying to rip off some corpos with a couple of friends, and rather than listen to him, she took her radio, her multi-tool and cyberdeck, and a backpack's worth of clothing and moved out.

She spent three months on her own, sleeping in doorways and park benches during the day because she was scared to sleep at night. On occasion she would ask one of the few friends she had made for a night's shelter with them. After a few months she met Emma, another orphaned streetkid a little bit older, and they quickly became friends and partners. V would distract the targets -- primarily corpos in Westbrook -- while Emma would use her Sandevistan to steal their wallets and bags, anything she could grab.

Emma took V "home" to a rundown apartment in an abandoned building in North Side, Watson that she shared with a handful of other streetkids, some already working as joytoys, others playing pretend as netrunners. The first night, she led V upstairs to the roof and they watched the sunset and the city come alive with neon. Emma kissed her, and they became inseparable, for a moment at least. They were exclusive for eight months, then they broke up nominally. Until V finally moved out a year later, she and Emma continued to have a rocky yet passionate on-again-off-again relationship.

✨ 6th Street Era

When she was seventeen V met Travis on a gig and fell pretty quickly for his big teal eyes. He was a member of the 6th Street gang, and he recruited her to join. She did so nominally, just for access to regular food and shelter, plus the good dick. Her quickhacking prowess proved valuable to the gang and she secured a number of steady jobs. She stayed with Travis for almost three years before she grew tired of his regular cheating and constant broken promises. She left the gang and went out on her own for a few years, finding a place with a couple of Mox. They heavily recruited her to join them but V wasn't interested in joining another gang. In retrospect, she wishes she had joined them and met Judy sooner, and maybe saved Judy from the heartbreak of Evelyn.

Annnnnnddddd here’s some Valkyrie trivia for ya! 

1. With Valk being more musically inclined, I’ve gone through a lot of singing voiceclaims for her trying to find the perfect one. However the one I last settled on is the longest a single voice has stuck and it’s definitely the one I’m most happy with; Sheryl Crow! Best examples are probably the song If It Makes You Happy and her fantastic cover of Sweet Child O’ Mine. 

2. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this outside of Discord, but Valk’s actually a pretty decent painter! Her chosen medium is watercolors, and she enjoys painting any nice scenery she happens to stumble across on her travels. Looking at all of her artwork plastered to the walls of her tent is looking at a map of all the places she’s ever drifted through, and you can tell when a certain vista grabs her attention the most as she’ll sometimes have multiple pieces of the same scenery from different angles. She has at least four paintings of the view from the rim of the Grand Canyon. 

3. Most desert creepy crawlies don’t bother Valk, and if you have an uninvited guest in your tent, calling upon her to extract it is usually a safe bet...However, she’s a bit more wary around snakes than she is around things like scorpions or spiders. Almost dying from the bite of a coral snake during a family trip down south does that to a person. 

4. While a fantastic mechanic, Valk is sort of a lousy teacher of the craft. Everything to her is essentially muscle memory after maintaining her own vehicles for so long, and if you ask her to explain the process, you’ll likely cause her to short circuit and forget what she’s doing. It’s best to leave her to her own devices, as she simply can’t work and spew technobabble at the same time. 

5. Valk’s had quite a few weird experiences during all her time out on the road; weird as in paranormal. Strange lights in the sky, faceless people on the side of the road, motels and diners that exist one day and are gone without a trace the next. She even spent time doing some amateur detective work in some little podunk town being terrorized by an apparent serial killer. Get enough drinks in her on any given night, and you’ll inevitably get to hear plenty of stories about UFO’s and mannequin people.

5 facts about Dante

While I have had many OCs from fandoms before him, Dante comes from a completely original universe. I've had him since circa 2015, and needless to say I have a big, big attachment to him. Adapting Dante to Cyberpunk 2077 was my way of using a character I hold very dear.

The main reason behind Dante's name is his theme as a character no matter the universe: a man that is born to face hell and is ultimately saved for and by love. Saying it like this largely underplays his narrative, but exploring death, loss and sacrifice tangled with love has always been an inclination of mine.

Despite his overall inclination for good and arguably well set morals, Dante actually falls in the Neutral alignment (even if Neutral Good). He's been taught to thrive and enjoy off violence, and as such he embraces both of these things - he just knows where to redirect it.

A lot of what you see constituting Dante's background lore, his motives, key events of his life before Night City are adaptations from his original story. Most if not all of these events were roleplayed by me in a larger group with friends, and I really appreciate how much richer that made his story.

Unlike the typical story and correlation of werewolves to the Full Moon, Dante's lycanthropy is not entirely connected to it. While his wolf-like inclinations may spark during the Full Moon, his curse only forces his transformation during Blood Moons, a much rarer occurrence.

Valerie was never intended as self insert (I didn't even know what that meant when I made her 🤭) I designed her to embody someone I wanted to be more like - strong, cool, brave - a survivor. Overtime she became more me and I became more her. ♥️ She has honestly made me more confident in real life. 2. As her creator, I never intended or predicted a romance forming between V and Johnny - even though he does physically resemble my real husband. 🤭 In fact I didn't like Johnny at all for a long time. My first playthrough I romanced both Judy and River but felt V's heart wasn't truly in it with either of them. It came to a surprise to me when I started feeling this chemistry between them, and later this deep soul connection that drove them to want to protect each other no matter what. I also saw a lot of their sarcastic banter and personality dynamics in my real life partnership which made Johnny and V's unlikely romance feel that much more right for my V's story. 3. Valerie's birth name is - Valerie Rada de la Cruz. She is a Nomad of Irish, Filipino, Hungarian,and Haitian decent. As a person of mixed race myself, I wanted to channel this experience into her character and I love the idea of a future where most people are racially ambiguous. 4. Valerie uses basic netrunning skills, but she's more of a "hands on" Merc who prefers to get psychical. She uses stealth and non-lethal choke out maneuvers whenever possible but she'd not one to shy away from a fist, sword or gun fight.  She has knowledge of Jujitsu and Kenjutsu from her father and has met few foes that can put her down. 5. In general my headcanon content aligns with canon events but diverges at Mikoshi.  Upon reaching Mikoshi and having their psyches separated, they decide to decline Alt’s ultimatums and leave together. With Alt’s help Johnny is restored as an engram. (to see a full version of my ending in “fan film” format: https://youtu.be/hpq3fOJj73A ) Despite Johnny’s adamant protesting, Valerie decides her first priority as the new Queen of the Afterlife is to locate Johnny’s real body and restore his engram telling him “If I die I’m not letting you go down with me.” After pulling an “impossible” job for Mr. Blue Eyes, he finds the intel that leads Valerie and Johnny to a secret Arakasa cryo facility in Tokyo Japan. With the help of the Aldecaldos and a few more contacts they are able to find and steal Johnny’s frozen body. In exchange for a for a hefty sum and sparing his life, Anders Hellman agrees to work closely with Viktor to attempt a transfer of Johnny’s engram to his preserved body. The transfer is successful, yet Johnny spends 3 months in a coma before finally awakening. Valerie has grown weaker but Viktor has concocted a combination of cybernetic treatments and medications that have kept her functioning. At present, Valerie and Johnny are still in search of a cure to save V’s life while trying to enjoy the small moments and make the most of what they have now - an unexpected love and a determined passion to hold onto it.
