Does it sound familiar?

Then you, my friend, might be one of the very few who remember playing the Norwegian game Dreamfall from the Longest Journey Saga

Ah TLJ (April, I'll never forget you)!

The game has not aged well (I mean the original TLJ) but I do recommend it. It's like reading a good book. It stays with you.

There's also the conclusion Chapters. Might be more accessible to modern sensitivities. And can be played as standalone.

Anime/Otome 31 Days Challenge

Day 5 - Do You Prefer A Otome/Anime With More Love Or More Plot To It?

I do like a good plot but I do prefer a better love story. I think its what really brought me into otome and anime because I had been playing games with more romance for years, outside the occasional game with a good story without love involved. Then there is the occassional games that trick you make you thinking there will be a love story to find out there isn't.

Not going to name any names *coughs dreamfall chapters* I swear that one got me I spent the whole game waiting for Kian to end up with Zoe for him to come out gay like seriously WTF why would you trick me like that its not like he even showed any interest in anyone yet boom he says he isn't interested in her due to her sex. Just wow nothing wrong with being gay but come on there was something there in this game that could have been something. grr. Anyways sorry for the bit of a rant there has been several of the games in the past. So yeah romance first, plot second, also depends on love interests too.

July 2023 Reading Wrap Up

I've been pondering starting a bookish instagram, but in the likely event I never do, here are the monthly wrap up images I made for July 2023. (If it doesn't have a rating it just means it was too short or too . . . personal? to easily rate. I didn't track DNFs on these graphics, but I DNF'ed seven books.

Biography:

When you think of a free spirit, you have to think of Diana. The rebel daughter of the former Portuguese King, she went on to question and break all the rules that were put on her. She only attended the classes when her father attached a guard to her hip, otherwise she would run away and spend her days near the ocean, walking the beaches and practicing her fighting. Diana never liked swords, she believed they were far too heavy and slow so instead, she trained with double daggers. They were smaller and allowed her to be faster than her opponents. She never wanted to be the damsel in distress, waiting to be saved by someone else. She didn't want to have to rely on anyone for anything, so she became very independent from a young age. She's smart, she doesn't understand a whole lot about politics but she knows the basics. She also couldn't care less about what's happening with France and the Bourbons, it was their problem, they should fix it themselves.

Diana wasn't thrilled to come to France. In her eyes, it was a waste of time and not to mention, they would be around the Spanish, who she despised. Although, she does plan to enjoy her time in French territory, hopefully find a good match for herself. Diana doesn't want anyone else to choose her betrothed, she wants to do it herself and she made that pretty clear to her brother. If she's forced into a betrothal, Diana will have no problem running away to avoid it.
