Basically, yes! when she turned into a human for the first time she turned into a guy, and then later she transitioned after spending more time around other people living in a gendered society. The way she perceives herself around humans ends up being what she primarily defines herself with since she doesn’t really have a social life as a worm.

I think of being a worm as lonely but also very freeing (both from social constraints like gender but also physically. because worms have no bones :p ), and being human can be stifling but also allows you to connect w others easier. I'm not sure if I'll ever finish the story she is a part of, but her arc is kind of about the tension between those two worlds/modes of joy

fully transformed she looks like a regular hammerhead worm but really really big. also she's transgender
