being a girl and hitting puberty is so traumatic. you go from being a genderless little free thing to being hit with shaving and makeup and growing breasts and skincare and menstruation and suddenly being sexualised when like a few years ago you could take your shirt off to play in the stream and trade yugioh cards with the boys and come home covered in mud and not even think about it. and then you spend years hating being a girl and hating everything puberty did to you and wishing you could be a boy or be completely genderless again and it takes you Many years to come to terms with yourself Or you simply try to Lean In to everything and do makeup tutorials on YouTube and claim it’s for fun. like how can this be treated as normal

#I think one of the more alienating experiences for me growing up #was when my best friend (who was only six months older than me) hit the stage of not wanting to play outside anymore or play make believe #or get dirty and whenever I was over at her house she was in her room the whole time talking about makeup and chatting with her friends #on AIM which left me sidelined because I was a grubby little eleven year old who didn’t care about any of that and it felt like a whole #different world #which like now it’s obvious that I was just a lesbian the whole time so my interests were different than hers bc I didn’t give a shit about #boys but obviously I didn’t know that at the time #the divide in our friendship basically meant I’d alternate spending time with her and with her brother who is about a year and a half #younger than me and still wanted to play video games and swim in the pool #and I just never understood why my best friend suddenly didn’t want to do the same things as me and that might’ve been one of my more #formative experiences as far as realizing that I’m different goes #lesbian tag

So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????

I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.

Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?
