"being queer is about love" hmm actually being queer is about defying societal norms about gender and sexuality and does not depend on feeling love at all

Music can really sway you while you're writing. I put on an old non-tailored playlist and when there was a song change I realised I'd accidentally written way too many paragraphs in the wrong genre tone

(Un)Happy to share with you all that once again I went "what!?" because my main character decided to fuck himself over and now the plot outline changes again

Last line I've written for Taste of Copper is an enormous spoiler so I'll go with the one before that lol
His bow and quiver were resting in the hallway nook, and he seized them as he hurried out of the royal compound towards the bastille.
Open tags!
Last line challenge
Thanks for the tag @lowkeyed1 !
I wrote a bit of the Little Bard's Tale today ☺️.
Truth was a beautiful thing, and I wondered who had lied to me so badly I still felt so strongly about it.
I tag @insert-witty-user-name-here @edianilki

So the cat had left a bone on the patio and the ants were swarming it, so I started sweeping it all on the grass for the magpies to peck at, and I noticed bees buzzing around the flowering mandarins! And then I heard a small panicked buzz! and noticed there was a flower fallen on the patio and I'd swept it and the bee on it away! Oh no :( But then the little bee just, rolled a little and then went right back to its flower! You go little trooper I'm so sorry I accidentally swept you

the idea of public restrooms as "women's spaces" continues to confound me. you know who I hope is in a public bathroom when I go in?? no one. I would prefer no one else be in the bathroom. and if someone else is in the bathroom I am going to ignore them as much as possible. I did not go into the bathroom to connect with other women. I went into the bathroom to piss and/or shit. it's a toilet's space, not a women's space. shut the fuck up and let trans people piss and shit in peace. let's all continue to avoid eye contact with each other and any and all interaction in the toilet's space.

[ID: youtube comment from Hal Sawyer:
My favorite relic English still used everywhere is the word "the" used in phrases like: "the more I look at this, the stranger it seems, or "the bigger they come, the harder they fall". This "the" is not the article of any noun, it is a different word, a conjunction descended from the old English "þā", pronounced "tha" which means either "when" or "then". Back in early Middle English the structure "if - then" had not taken over and if you wanted to express an if - then relationship you said "þā whatever, þā whatever", meaning "when such-and- such, then such-and-such". "þā" sounds almost the same as "the" and the spelling of the two converged, but the meaning remained totally different. "the more, the merrier" literally means "when more, then merrier" or "if more, then merrier'; same as centuries ago.

this is so cool

Things that work in fiction but not real life
torture getting reliable information out of people
knocking someone out to harmlessly incapacitate them for like an hour
jumping into water from staggering heights and surviving the fall completely intact
calling the police to deescalate a situation
rafting your way off a desert island
correctly profiling total strangers based on vibes
effectively operating every computer by typing and nothing else
ripping an IV out of your arm without consequences
heterosexual cowboy

The bad part is actually that that outline is in no way final. It will change. Again and again and again as you write it out and the settings really need to work together, the events really need to follow one another logically, and the characters really come to life and wreck it all up
Bask in the glory of a finished outline because it shows a level of craftsmanship. Don't get attached to it because the craftsmanship is only just starting
It’s such a great feeling to finally get the outline for your book to be comprehensible.
All the ideas?: Filtered. They were either fully expanded upon or thrown out completely.
The characters?: Thought out and developed. All fulfilling their roles while still being human/relatable.
The world?: Solidified. It’s all there: the lore, the magic system or whatever tf it is that makes it unique, all that jazz, perfected.
All of it is ready and good to go.
The bad part?
Now I gotta actually write it all.
