I have a ton of acorns so this is nice to know
Acorns.
I think they're super cute, and not only do they make the most adorable earrings you've ever seen, but they're incredibly powerful in the witchy department.
Acorns have a plethora of uses, but for me personally, one particular effect of them draws to me: their ability to reflect and amplify power. If I have an acorn laying about, there are several things that I like to do to increase the effectiveness of my spellwork.
I'll list a few of my favorites here:
If I grind my own herbs with a mortar and pestle, I'll grind an acorn into it before pouring the powder out and grinding my other spices and herbs. It amplifies the influence of the herbs and also the influence of whatever I may be adding it into.
That powdered acorn can be dusted into wax that seals spells jars, and seems to be especially effecting with protection and safety jars.
Shattered bits of shell can be burnt along with cleansing incense to amplify the cleansing of your space.
Carrying acorns in your bag or on your person can increase the intensity of your presence
Throw them at assholes to chase them off
Tips and Commissions: Ko-fi

Alternatives to Jars!
Jars are expensive and take up too much space in my opinion. Here are some alternatives I have found for my craft!
Cardboard toilet paper holders (fold the ends down and you have a container!)
Envelopes
Pouches
Empty cups with lids
Bottles
Boxes of any size
Just about anything with a lid!
Jars aren’t required for witchcraft, but many witches find them useful for manifestation, protection, or even spell work!
I am working on a mini series of spells, oils, etc. that require minimal ingredients, for the witches that cannot buy herbs or don’t have access to tools!

I think that witchcraft is one of the best ways to learn how to love yourself and trust yourself. It's one of the greatest forms of self care.

Sometimes you just need to make a protection spell at 11pm at night 🤧✨🖤
And well if you do here’s some things you can add in yours :
• a bay leaf to enhance your wishes
• basil for protection against evil
• black pepper to ward against jealousy
• cloves to protect against negativity
• moon water to bring in that lunar magick
• salt protection against anything
• olive oil to fill it with
And as always feel free to personalize your spell jar by adding in or swapping out ingredients,, make sure to seal it with a black candle 🖤✨

Witchy tips for stress relief
Close your eyes. Breathe out your frustration. Feel your feet on the ground and center yourself with the earth. Keep eyes closed until your heart rate has settled.
Light a lavender candle. Let the scent fill your room/office.
Make yourself a cup of chamomile tea.
Take time to clean your room/office. A clean physical world translates into peace for your mental world.
Keep rose petals in your freezer. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, lay down and place the cold petals over your eyes. Rest for 15 minutes.
There is something to be said for the simplicity and effectiveness of writing a list and checking it off as you complete each task. When your mind is cluttered and overwhelmed with all your conflicting responsibilities, sit down, and write a list of everything you need to do. Tackle your first item, then move on to the next. When you’ve finished your list you will feel cleansed of your worries.
Go for a hike, or a swim in the ocean or lake. Reconnecting with mother nature reminds the soul of the truly important things. It will relax you and allow you to revisit your obligations with fresh eyes.
Take an epsom salt bath.
Allow yourself to be creative. Daily tasks can get daunting and run you down. Allow yourself to indulge in your creativity. Your work will benefit from your brain switching on its creative edge. Doodle. Sing. Dance. Knit. Write.
Meditate.
Find a sleep spell and encourage yourself to get 8 hours of sleep.

 Lion’s Gate Portal 🦁
sending lucky energy to everyone who’s seeking it, today is one of the luckiest days of the year for manifesting 🧘🏼‍♀️ 8:8 🌚
‘In astrology, Sirius is associated with our higher aspirations. Whereas our sun is linked to our potential in life, our identity and our ego, Sirius helps illuminate our spiritual aspirations and elevated karmic journey in this lifetime.’
When these energies align, this creates the Lion’s Gate Portal, through which down on earth we receive ‘light codes’ (messages) that can allow us to ‘reach a new awareness within ourselves.’
Lion’s Gate Portal Activities ☀️
I dare you to make a vision board of everything you’d like to manifest for the rest of 2021. 📋
Write about it, write as if you already have what you want, show gratitude for it. ✍️
Make a sigil & draw it on your hand to make your manifestations & intentions feel more permanent. ➰
Be present today- be hyper aware of your surrounding energies, download & store the high vibrations & delete & block out the low. ⚛️
Listen & look for messages. Meditate. Spirit is speaking today. 🦁
Move around & organize your space. Create new energy. 🍃
Move your body, do yoga or take a walk. 🌳
Carry citrine or tigers eye stone with you. ☀️
Cleanse your aura in the powerful sun 🌞
Be yourself, do something to express yourself. wear that bold outfit, walk with confidence. 🧚‍♀️
Show gratitude towards everything you’ve been blessed with this year. 😌
Release blockages, let go of everything that does not serve your higher good. 🧘🏼‍♀️
& most importantly, know that you’re divinely protected & you deserve all the good karma coming your way. 👁

I haven’t read most of these, but they look like good places to start
Books list for researching paganism, because tumblr isn’t going to be a guide to it all
Okay so this post is for people getting into paganism/hellenism paganism. As a newbie i realized something, wow tumblr witch advice 95% of the time is only good at telling you what you need and not how to do stuff.(start skipping to the book list if you dont want to read about my thoughts) On top of that a lot of witch advice blogs are like, “guys you need to do your own research, seriously we can’t spoon feed you.” Taking to heart i was like ok this can’t be that hard it’s the internet there’s websites for everything. Well after 4 hours i still couldn’t find anything really useful so i was like fuck it ok I’m going old-school, *types into google* ‘books for people new to hellenistic paganism’, and omg there are so many fucking books. so I thought I’d make a list of ones i want to read and that might be helpful to other newbies alike, Community over Critizing right? here we go
here we go without futher ado the book list
The Spell Book for New Witches: Essential Spells to Change Your Life by Ambrosia Hawthorn
Tumblr media
Green Witch, The: Your Complete Guide to the Natural Magic of Herbs, Flowers, Essential Oils, and More by Arin Murphy Hiscock
Tumblr media
Psychic Witch: A Metaphysical Guide to Meditation, Magick and; Manifestation by mat aryan

The Book of Candle Magic: Candle Spell Secrets to Change Your Life by Madame Pamita
Tumblr media
Hellenismos: Practicing Greek Polytheism Today by Tony Mierzwicki
Tumblr media
Kharis: Hellenic Polytheism Explored by Sarah Kate Istra Winter
Tumblr media
Hellenic Polytheism : Household Worship by Christos Pandion Panopoulos, and Lesley Madytinou
Tumblr media
The Oracles of Apollo: Practical Ancient Greek Divination for Today by John Opsopaus
Tumblr media
The Divination Handbook: The Modern Seer’s Guide to Using Tarot, Crystals, Palmistry, and More by liz dean
Tumblr media
that’s all i have for now if you wanna add some totally do, if you have reason and explain why a book should be taken down also feel free to comment. I think it would be kinda cool if this could become a big library to help new pagans/polythiests/hellenistics/hellenisticpagans and general magic users.

I love this, you’re worth it, always.
the cure to self-sabotage is to anchor yourself to the universal truth that you are worth it. you are worth the effort. you are worth the difficulty, you are worth the time, you are worth the consideration. there is never a point in your life, in time itself, that you are not worth it. return to this truth when you feel yourself slipping. do not let it go.

So had a family member tell me that I'm apparently "not really a witch" because I "don't really do anything"
I'm sorry so... doing a daily oracle card pull isn't witchcraft? Reciting an affirmation as I stir my coffee isn't? Celebrating the sabbats isn't? Practicing oracle/tarot readings? Using Crystals? Reading and researching and learning? Self-care in general?
Like you would think a family member would be happy that my practice, helps me to function. But hey what do I know?
WITCHCRAFT IS NOT JUST SPELLWORK!
