Welcome to Vivacious Officiall

Today we will be kickstarting The Timeless Woman series with a case study on the one & only Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.

Many of you may already know of Carolyn due to her huge impact on fashion & her marriage to John F Kennedy Jr.

However in this blog post we will be deep diving into Carolyn’s life & how she was the ultimate timeless woman.

BACKSTORY

Carolyn Jeanne Bessette was born January 7th 1966 to Catholic parents William & Anne. As the youngest child in her family, she had two older sisters, Lauren & Lisa. They lived in White plains, New york

After her parents divorced when Carolyn was eight years old, she relocated to Connecticut to continue schooling.

As a natural-born star at St Barths High School, she gained attention for her unique personality and style, earning her the title of the Ultimate Beautiful Person

Carolyn went on to attend Boston University and worked briefly as a Model and in Event management before working for Calvin Klein.

CALVIN KLEIN ERA

Carolyn began her career in the fashion industry working for Calvin Klein as a sales assistant. Naturally it didn’t take long before she began dominating in her field.

“One of her responsibilities at the shows is to manage the models. They are constantly, it seems, in crisis. She is mother to them all, calm and ready with answers.” - Carole Radizwell, What Remains.

Carolyn's elegant yet chic style, combined with her outstanding work ethic, earned her a promotion to Director of Publicity and a transfer to the office in Manhattan, New York.

Where she met the one & only… John F. Kennedy Jr

Lesson 1: As a woman, it is important to have your passions and learn how to network. Don’t wait for a man to come give you the life you rightfully deserve. The best time to meet a high value man is when you are already in love with your life.

JFK & CAROLYN

JFK Jr was the son of the 35th president of the United States, John F. Kennedy

This man represented American royalty as well as being the finest eligible bachelor of his day. He had wealth, power, and extraordinary charisma.

& he was crazy about Carolyn.

Carolyn reportedly turned down JFK Jr. several times because she did not want the media's attention. This naturally increased his interest in her, and he pursued her until they began dating and eventually married on September 21, 1996, in Cumberland Island off the coast of Georgia.

Lesson 2: As a high-value woman, you will naturally attract high-quality men who are accustomed to women throwing themselves at them. Never do this. Your standards apply to all men. This will earn you respect and even more admiration from your suitor.

Side note : Women that throw themselves at successful men are women hoping to leech off his success. Men are not dumb. The best kind of woman to this type of man is a woman that acknowledges his success but does let that be a free pass.

Just like all marriages, John & Carolyn had their differences. Carolyn despised the attention. She was frequently trailed by paparazzi and called derogatory names in order to elicit a reaction from her. This put significant strain on their marriage. Regardless, it was clear that they loved each other and were prepared to work it out.

Unfortunately, in 1999, John, Carolyn, and Lauren (Carolyn's sister) were killed in a plane crash off the coast of Massachusetts owing to terrible weather. May their souls rest peacefully.

Carolyn's life was cut short, but she is remembered as a loving, passionate, beautiful sister, daughter, and wife.

Final Lesson: Ladies, it is critical that you leave a legacy. The world needs more powerful women who set their own rules. To inspire your children, grandchildren, and the countless women who will come after you.

Hello lovely, I’m more than happy to give you a few pointers.

You have to be okay with being a lone wolf. A timeless woman is a rare gem. 1 of 1.

If the environment you are in isn’t inspiring you or supportive in your journey then you need to do three things

1. Learn how to set internal boundaries.

this may look like

I will not discuss my personal life with people who will project their limiting beliefs unto me

I will only spend a limited time on tiktok & instagram

I won’t hang around people that negatively influence me

Customize this to your own life as we all have different circumstances.

**Notice how these boundaries, don’t involve talking to other people

2. Learn to give yourself validation

As an elegant young lady, you have to set your own standards regardless of what other people think. You have to learn to get validation from yourself and not from society.

this may look like

Dressing how you want to dress despite what the girls in school are saying

Deciding to be more exclusive rather than being the most popular girl

Taking your education more seriously even if it’s not considered “cool” by others

Again, customize this to your own circumstance.

3. Create your own environment

If you can’t physically be around like minded people then use social media to your advantage.

how you can do this

Get a list of 5 online mentors & listen to atleast 1 person per day ( podcast, blog, youtube chanel ) this will help you stay grounded even if your physical environment isn’t supportive

Follow likeminded people on social media. There are so many girls on tumblr you can make friends with & share tips (be safe plz)

Pray/Affirmations - If you’re finding it hard to embody who you want to be then ask God to guide you. Remember you’re never alone. Ask God to bring the right people, right information & right circumstances to you & have faith that it will come!

In a world filled with never ending trends and unrealistic beauty standards, it can often feel like the beauty goal post is always out of reach. Be it the 90s model thin or the bbl era in the late 2000s, collectively women have been changing their bodies to satisfy the demands of the masculine gaze.

However we would notice that throughout history there are certain women that somehow seem to always be relevant in conversations. Women like Audrey Hepburn, Princess Diana, Eartha Kitt, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, Cher, Sade, Grace Kelly and so many other iconic women.

Timeless women surpass all beauty standards.

Wellness Series : If you want to get prettier, get HEALTHIER.

Holistic health is an approach to health and wellness that addresses the mind, body & soul. One of its core beliefs is that physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being all contribute to the overall health of an individual.

Therefore, it seeks to improve the WHOLE system rather than just the physical aspect.

Over the past year, I observed that as my health improved, so did my looks. I noticed I began to have a youthful glow, lost weight, toned up & achieved an overall vibrant look.

It's a beautiful journey & I am still learning everyday.

Whether you're new to this space or not, here are two holistic approaches to wellness to get healthy & sexy at the same time. Enjoy x

Juicing/Smoothies.

This is a beginner friendly approach to living a healthier life. One struggle most people face is adjusting to the taste and texture of greens. Juicing is a great way to get your nutrients in without all the hassle.

Tips

Slowly is the fastest way- You can start 2-3 times a week & go from there. This gives your body grace to adjust to the extra fibre.

Do your research: Books, podcasts, blogs, Interviews can all be accessed easily. Learn recipes that fit your particular needs.

Be consistent & patient: Don't just try it for a week and give up. It takes time and effort.(compound effect)

Releasing Stuck Emotions In The Body.

This is another powerful way to get healthier (prettier).

When we experience trauma as children & we are unable to process our emotions, we tend to internalise it and think there must be something wrong with us. As this continues, we begin to store negative emotions within our body.

Stuck emotions can manifest in numerous ways like : poor posture, low self esteem, anxiety, depression, poor self concept and even health conditions. As you begin releasing stuck emotions you start to look younger, vibrant, healthier and glowy.

I Am The Prize. (A Queen's Mentality)

2024, we are stepping out of our baby princess era ( victim mentality) and entering our Queendom.

Gone are the days of sending paragraphs, feeling powerless, being overly emotional, no boundaries, low standards & not taking proper care of ourselves. Kiss it Goodbye.

If you are reading this, then you are ready.

Here are three shifts you can begin to implement to kickstart your Queen Era.

1. INDEPENCE ON ALL LEVELS

True freedom is living life on your own terms. Some of us have spent too long in toxic friendships, romantic relationships and even family situations because we are codependent. We struggle to stand on our feet. We seek their attention, validation, approval , money etc.

We have forgotten our power. We have forgotten that we can give ourselves these things. Independence is key.

2024, we are working on providing ourselves with everything we need.

Start by

Moving more on your own time.

Get your finances together

Take care of your health

Know yourself ( the real you, not the mask you've been wearing)

Start seeking your own validation ( an independent thinker)

2.EMOTIONAL CONTROL

This is so crucial. Emotional control is a must. If you let your emotions run the show , you lose every single time.

A baby princess cannot see beyond her emotions. she's trapped in the world of fight or flight. She's in survival mode.

A Queen knows emotions are just information. She is the observer. She's able to sit back and think about the best way to respond NOT react.

She's cool, calm and collected. No one sees her break a sweat.

Start by

Taking a deep breath when you find yourself getting triggered

Realizing no one has power over you. You get to decide how you want to show up everyday

By being selective on what you give your energy to.

3.SELF AWARENESS

Google accountability. A baby princess lives life as if it is happening to her. She has forgotten she is the co creator & it always takes two to tango. The truth is deep down, she's addicted to being the victim.

A Queen knows she is a powerful creator. If she constantly finds herself in certain unpleasant situations, she knows she has the power to change it because she created it.

Start by

Observing how you show up in life. How do you see yourself ?How do you act in your interpersonal relationships? What are your daily thoughts like?
