Maturing out of Ignorance
I have grown up around shape shifters
When the older kids realized their disguise
They ran for the hills
I myself could not understand
Why they would leave
Probably wondered if they hated me
Until
I grew to discover
Their true colors
Their loud booming voices
Or their
Less than peaceful choices
I matured to reveal
The unpleasant truths they tried to conceal
Through childhood innocence
They tried to be ambiguous
But I am no longer clueless
