Captain America Icebound #1: Rise of the Synthetic Man Part 1

Before Steve Rogers was frozen (in the MCU), he went on many more adventures. These are some them.

Steve was standing in a lab. It was small, around the size of a large shed. It was made of a dark brown wood, and had tables with as many things as possible crammed onto them. In the corner of the room was a dusty velvet curtain, which was clearly hiding something. Next to the curtain, was a short and plump man. He had blindingly pale skin, almost looking sickly, and a shiny bald head. He had a messy, lopsided white mustache. He was Dr. Phineas Horton, the world’s greatest mind, only second to Howard Stark himself.

“Y-you may have seen this at the St-Stark expo,” Dr. Horton stuttered, “But only a p-prototype.” Phineas opened up the curtain, revealing a man with the build (and hair) of Steve, but with the face of Phineas Horton. He wore a red shirt and blue pants.

“You made a man!” Steve exclaimed.

“A synthetic m-man!” Dr. Horton remarked, pointing to the ceiling.

“That’s amazing!” Steve said in awe.

“Y-you think th-that’s impressive?” Phineas asked rhetorically, “W-watch this!”

Dr. Horton pulled a nearby lever and suddenly, the Synthetic Man’s eyes opened wide.

“Does he have a name?” Steve asked.

“W-Well I like to call him J-Jim.” Phineas replied.

“Hello?” Steve waved his hands in front of Jim’s eyes. Suddenly, Jim grabbed Steve’s wrist. Steve stood their, shocked for a moment, and then Jim just shook his hand.

“Nice to meet ya.” Jim greeted, “The name’s Jim! You’re Steve, right? Nice to meet ya, Steve.”

“Wow…” Steve’s jaw was wide open as Jim let go of his wrist.

“Sh-Show him what y-you can do!” Phineas yelled “You m-might wanna back away.”

“FLAME ON!” Jim exclaimed. Suddenly, Jim’s skin turned completely red, and he burst into flames.

“He’s overheating!” Steve yelled.

“No no. He’s s-supposed to do that.” Phineas explained.

“Wow, doc.” Steve remarked, “I’m speechless.”

Later, Steve introduced Peggy to Jim.

“So Peg,” Steve asked “You know Dr. Horton?”

“Phineas Horton.” Peggy asked, “No not personally, but I do know that he rivals Howard in intelligence.”

“Well Jim here,” Steve explained “Is a synthetic man made by the doc himself.”

“That’s amazing!” Peggy shouted.

“Hello, ma’am!” Jim waved “You’re very pretty today.”

“Hmm” Peggy puzzled “We need to work on his social skills.”

“Do you know anyone who can help with that?” Steve asked.

“Well, there’s my sister, Amanda.” Peggy explained
