As Japan enters its Golden Week where the residents are allowed to take a vacation for more than a week, the RKDD staff has presented us with another audio skit. Thank you to them as they reminded me of the original threesome in the story. Spitz joined RonToto!!! Hmmm, Spitz is in Japan, taking his days off.

So cheer up, RonToto truthers, and Spitz fans too, we might suffer today because there is no new chapter, but they provide us with their voices. (Hopefully, Akira and the RKDD staff can enjoy their well-deserved Golden Week!)

Toto: You’re right. Does BLUE also have an entrance ceremony?

Spitz: BLUE also has entrance ceremonies, but not at this time of year, and the cherry blossoms aren't in bloom, so it's a bit boring compared to Japanese entrance ceremonies. I wonder if my students are doing well…

Toto: When I entered BLUE I remember what happened. Do you remember Ron? Huh? What's wrong, Ron? (Note: The skit suggests that Toto has been to BLUE keeping up with the manga.)

Ron: Whoahh!!! Those dazzling eyes of the students, filled with hope… they were too dazzling. (Enter depression mode)

Toto: That's it!? Although come to think of it, I, too, had full of hope when I first joined the police investigative department. Anyway, I will continue to challenge various mysteries together with Ron, so I will do my best to look forward to them.

PS: it is interesting but the Japanese listeners take note of Toto’s switching from ore (informal) to boku (formal) at the end. Did he switch from talking to his friends to the public? (Thoughts? @eiko-hoshino ? Is it a big deal when Toto does it? How significant is it?)

Now that I've been given permission, I can spam here with my ideas because I have no one to talk to about it.

As much as I like RonToto, there are a couple of things I wish were there. Of course, the way Ron worries about Toto's safety is very delicious, but something bothers me. I just noticed Ron saying how much he appreciates that Toto in his life (THAT I VERY APPROVE), and that he doesn't want Toto to get hurt BUT he never asked about how Toto feel. Perhaps my memory is failing me, but Ron didn't ask questions like "How are you feeling?" which kinda makes me sad.

Plus, I noticed a very strange reaction from Toto when Ron thanked him. As if anyone very rarely say thank to him in his life:(

Oh yes!!!

You are making me emotional. Because truly that’s what I miss from the manga that not even once Ron asks Toto about his background. We have panels that show or appear that Ron already knows or assumes based on his words that he already worked out Toto.

It is only Kawasemi who cares enough if he wants to buy some souvenirs and made a remark concerning his shopping.

It seems that as a child people rarely praise Toto. His Japanese grandmother probably drills him on the subject of humility, the Buddhist way of life, and so he gets surprised when people do that. Must be the culture that differentiates the two. Ron is half English, a genius too. And he knows what he’s capable of, so he’s blunt and open.

There are parts of serial murders on a cruise ship arc where Ron was so nervous losing Toto, that is when he was forced by Mylo to kill Toto.

Maybe, maybe, the new arc will turn outside down for the two that there will be confession and more emotional outbursts coming from Ron.

Bring them on! Thank you once again!

Since you are the only person I know who ships Kei/Ron, I wanna ask. Do you think Toto will be that friend in this relationship who listens to the couple's problems and tries to help them communicate? You know, like because Toto is emotionally more stable and he's been dealing with Ron crazy behaviour for like a year now. I just see that as soon as Ron doesn't understand something, smth about emotion, out of habit, he immediately turns to Toto.

Ron: <…> I can't believe that!

Toto who just has a lot of patience: You should talk with each other.

Kei: ...

Toto who already know about problem because of Ron: I have only one advice for you, be patient and talk about your feelings with Ron. That's all I can say.

By the way, I haven’t answered your question concerning Toto and Winter. My head canon aside that Toto is a secret Moriarty, if they are going to be the best of friends if they weren’t siblings, I think Toto would welcome them to the fold, he has his own circle of friends, yes, but he isn’t sociable and there might be a lingering suspicion that Winter could betray them. I think he’s careful about treading his relationship with Winter.

The cast and crew of RKDD recently held their post-RKDD season 1 launch party and at the same time welcoming the second season. Akira was there too and her editor.

Recently, the TV anime “Kamonohashi Ron's Forbidden Reasoning’s” 1st Season Launch & The "Let's do our best for the 2nd Season" party (named by me) was held! 🎉 It was a party where you could feel the love for the series from the food to the raffle prizes! 🤭 The second season is currently being produced by our loving staff! About your Kei/Ron fic, it sounds interesting 👀👀.

However, I have an idea on how to make everyone happy.

Toto and Ron has Queerplatonic relationship, Ron with Kei (Toto forces them to talk and sort things out) and Toto with Kawasemi... BOOM, EVERYONE HAPPY!

Okay sorry, but KawaToto always in my heart. Their chemistry is not worse than RonToto's. (Perhaps a little biased, but I think that for Toto Kawasemi is a better partner than Ron. Don't get me wrong, Ron not bad, but due to the fact that he was a hikkyomori for 5 years+ he was just a very strange person, sometimes i feel Toto need more attention. (Toto is clearly not the mental healthiest person, let's be honest. Hello, his self-destructive behaviour + Low self-esteem))

Also what do you think about Winter and Toto relationship? I think they can be good friends, if Amano give them more screen time together. Oh, I wrote more than I thought.

Though I clocked Ron will desire for a more romantic relationship toward Toto. If we have to follow manga and then the anime version, it is evident that Ron cannot and won’t do anything without Toto. Toto saved his arse. And this dependence on Toto is what makes it delicious.

On the other hand, Toto, and i agree wholeheartedly with what you said that he needs more love and Kawasemi san, can take care of him and be his guiding light.

I am full of Ron/Kei pairing thoughts that I have started to write a fan fiction about them to relieve the itch.

I am not stuck in a way I am lost for words. I cannot decide which way to go because I want every party to be happy. Ron. Toto. Kei. Even Kawasemi-san.

Also, I have discovered a part of my fanfic writing self. Jealousy and cheating kinks. I abhor them in real life, that would be the end of an affair for me. Betrayal is a big no no. But to explore these tropes/themes, the pairs’ dynamics, in fiction is very engaging. You write about these things and you free yourself from the shackles of tradition. Of course, as long as they stay in your head as a fantasy.

I don’t think that family knows the meaning of love, familial or otherwise. They see the family members as pawns that they can easily manipulate, control and dispose however they see fit. Winter might be an anomaly. Ron’s dad too.

But the words love and affection, they don’t belong to that family’s vocabulary.

I am not sure if the other readers have noticed it too, but for weeks now the English translator has never included the date of the next chapter.

We will have a truce next time. The next chapter is scheduled to be distributed on Sunday, May 5th!! (JP time)

Did Akira Amano and her team ask the localisation editor to stop translating it? I wonder why.
