@tvstarkuma asked// wandering under the weather
Send “refuse to recover” for a starter where my muse is weak from either illness or injury, but refuse to stay in bed. Send “wandering under the weather” for your muse to be the one who refuses to stay in bed.

"Teddie-senpai, what are you doing here?" Ren looked at his upperclassman, who very clearly shouldn't be at school, or anywhere that wasn't in bed. "You look awful."

The Performative Romance of "Yuri Is My Job"
Tumblr media
Content warning: Yuri Is My Job contains depictions of homophobia, bullying, and sexual assault.
My friend @esselfortium recently convinced me to read "Yuri Is My Job" (which from now on I'm going to refer to by its fan abbreviation, WataYuri), written by Miman. I'm glad she did, because WataYuri turned out to be an extremely pointed and engaging commentary on the yuri genre. I'll try to keep this review/recommendation mostly spoiler-free while highlighting what I think are the most interesting parts.
Hime Shiraki is a high school girl whose dream is to marry into money and to that end, cultivates a "facade" of the perfect people-pleaser. She is coerced into becoming a staff member at Cafe Liebe after 'injuring' the manager on the way home from school. Cafe Liebe is a roleplay cafe where the waitstaff perform in character as student council members of the Liebe Girls' Academy, a setting intended to mirror a Class S romance novel. The manga explores the character relationships between Hime (performing under the name Hime Shirasagi) and the other members of the staff as she settles into the new job.
At a surface level, WataYuri functions as a criticism of the Class S romance genre, which focuses on close, hierarchal relationships between women within girls-only schools. These relationships often take on the shape of performative romance as a form of emotional fulfillment in the absence of "real" partners (men) within the setting, justifying itself as preparation for courtship after graduation. These close relationships often doubled to disguise intimate same-sex relationships at a time when these relationships were illegal.
The Class S genre leans into the ambiguity between the real and the performative; simultaneously providing a form of quiet affirmation and a cautionary reminder to its audience. This dynamic is understandable given that it is a subversion of pre-war publishing standards and laws regarding same-sex relationships, but many of the themes and plot beats inspired, influenced and survived into modern yuri.
Miman crafts their story in a way that digs into the nature of these legacy ideas with a certain perverse glee. The ever-watchful eyes of the authorities are replaced by those of the parasocial audience Cafe Liebe cultivates. The ambiguity - and often painful miscommunications that result from it - come less from "relationship/situationship" and more from the distinction between performance and the raw emotion it draws from.
In an early comedic moment, the latter dynamic is illustrated when Hime's cafe senpai Sumika Tachibana (an aloof, bookwise character on duty and a somewhat meddling gyaru off duty) and Mitsuki Ayanokouji (a caring, big sister character on duty and a curt, socially distant person off duty) argue in character over how to best handle a floor situation where Hime is struggling. Hime and her friend Kanoko Amamiya (a painfully shy girl with a secret crush on Hime) misinterpret this argument as a genuine romantic argument, and Kanoko uses the opportunity to flirt in character under the guide of expressing support for Hime's ability to do the job. Hime then reads Kanoko's intervention as a purely professional step. Nothing the characters are attempting to communicate gets through, because no one is certain on which side of kayfabe the communication is being made from.
Later chapters begin to tackle darker subject matter, exploring how the job both creates and exacerbates insecurity, conflict, and unhealthy relationship dynamics among the staff. As this tonal shift occurs, Miman writes a fantastic (sometimes horrifying) series of character sketches. Each of the story arcs these sketches support dig deeper into the relationship dynamics and shapes that are commonly adopted in modern yuri, illustrating just how toxic and ingrown the relationships produced by these story patterns can get.
Miman is not afraid to take the story into fraught territory - WataYuri covers a range of subject matter from childhood bullying, coming to terms with acearo feelings, internalized homophobia, and sexual assault - but they handle these matters delicately and sympathetically. These events ultimately highlight the strengths of the working relationships at Cafe Liebe - for as much hurt as the job is capable of generating, the staff's knowledge and personal relationships with one another equip them with the tools and resilience they need to begin resolving these issues as they come up.
Despite taking on the trappings of a shallow workplace dramedy, WataYuri delivers a wickedly sharp exploration of the roles we assign ourselves when building and maintaining our relationships. As it builds off of its consistently great character moments, it argues that our own self-enforcement of those roles is ultimately harmful when using those roles to soften or shield ourselves from the possibility of hurt that comes from expressing our true feelings. At best, it prevents us from finding genuine connection; at worst, it prevents us from moving on while our emotions turn poisonous.

I don't like Kasumi Yoshizawa at all (the fake person, not the dead sister)
Sumire is fine, I don't really have an impression of her other than "wow they really forced her as best girl huh and the ending is lackluster if you actually date her." But KASUMI.
Bane of Ren "Yo momma" Amamiya's existence.
I was gonna eat ice cream with the boys, boom. Kasumi.
I wanted to buy Coffee Dad/Brojiro a trinket? Kasumi.
Nice park clean up and cute moments with the shujin trio? No, it's Kasumi time.
It's a shame because I want to like Kasumire I really do, but she spends too much of the game as Kasumi and leaves so small of an impression as Sumire.
Also tbh her writing in third sem sucks. Putting her hair up with the Kasumi ribbon allowing her to transform into violet? Dumb. Her outfit is Fem Jokers? Dumb, they should have got rid of that when she was no longer FeMC.
I like the leotard but outside of that it just... big sigh, she didn't her own color and just also red, Joker does it better and longer than her and it makes her time as a thief feel bland.
Her moveset too... bless and curse fighters aren't great but Sophia and Ken Amada prove it can be done but something about Sumi's moveset feels weak.
And (I have this problem with almost all the girls dw) romancing Sumire feels gross.
Joker doesn't know her well, he knew Kasumi, and Sumire's last five social link ranks just don't feel like they are enough to get to know her, she doesn't feel all that different from Kasumi either which ISNT a good thing as it makes me feel like she's relapsing by the end of the game which is BAD.
Also like, she's so entranced by Joker and has that whole "I owe him so much he's my wonderful senpai!!!!!1!1" thing that also makes romancing her feel yucky to me.
And her sailor moon transformation is dumb. You're telling me nerdy Futaba, practically serena herself Ann, and elegant princess Haru had normal fire transformations ans Kasumi gets a sailor moon transformation?
There's so much with her that feels mishandled, and again I have such a hard time trying to like Sumire because Kasumi angers me.
I would like to reiterate, if you like her, as either Kasumi or Sumire PLEASE do not let me take that away from you, it's completely valid and I would even like to discuss it with you as I want to like her.
Anyways she's still not the worst phantom thief.
GG to Yoshizawa and Akechi fans, y'all ate in third semester, but as neither of those things, I prefer the vanilla ending.

P5R third semester AU time!
~~~
*Ring!*
LeBlanc's door swung open. A man in a brown coat walked inside, a genuine smile plastered over his face. He sat down at one of the empty booths and looked at the clock.
"Amamiya-san! I'm here to talk with you!" the man called.
A slight creak from the stairs, followed by the rustling of clothes. Ren had gotten dressed from sleeping in and walked towards the stairs.
"Dr. Maruki," Ren breathed. He mustered up some of his strength and looked down at his pocket. He dropped to a whisper just before the wall at the stairs, opening his coat pocket to see Sumire sitting there with a sad look on her face. "Will you be ok?"
Sumire looked up at the giant's concerned face and nodded. "Don't worry about me, Senpai. I'll be fine."
Ren sighed, then closed his pocket. He quietly made his way towards the former therapist and sat down across from him. "Hello, Maruki."
"Hi there," Maruki said in a friendly tone. "How are things going for you in my reality?"
"You shrunk Sumire," Ren stated, his tone going dark. "When I said I wanted to be strong enough to protect her, this isn't what I meant. She isn't some helpless puppet; she's a strong girl capable of taking of herself."
"Where IS she, if I may ask?" Maruki questioned, skipping right over the boy's concerns.
Ren hesitantly reached for his pocket and looked down into it. Sumire was visibly shaking, so he held a finger out to her. "You'll be ok. Trust me."
Sumire reluctantly clung to his thumb and shut her eyes as he slowly lifted her out his pocket. Ren placed the tiny girl on the table and folded his hands in front of her to protect her. Maruki tilted his head at the sight of the 4-inch girl and smiled.
"Hi, Yoshizawa-san. I'm sorry that this meeting is... well, how do I put it? A bit out of perspective, wouldn't you agree?"
Sumire nodded her head, and even though she was afraid, she bowed to him. "I do believe so, yes."
Maruki turned to Ren, his eyes shining. "Is this what you wished to discuss with me?"
"Yes, actually. I want you to change her back."
"But why? You are able to take care of her this way. And you said it yourself; she's easy to protect like this," Maruki questioned.
"Like i already said, Sumire is capable of protecting herself. She doesn't need to be this small to be protected. You see her as someone who couldn't accept herself, and in doing so, you assisted her in running away from her true self. And now you're doing it again, but this time through me."
Maruki shuffled. Sumire could feel the table beneath her move from his movement. She quietly climbed back into Ren's hand, so the giant cupped it around her to reassure her.
"I could change her back... but I want you to accept my reality. No one here is in pain. I promise that all your dreams will come true. Even your desire to keep her safe. I'll ensure nothing bad will ever happen to her ever again," Maruki replied.
"So she'll be forced to live like this forever if he doesn't change his mind?"
A new voice had entered the conversation. Akechi strode into the café, a scowl across his face. Sumire gave him a tiny wave, to which the brunette glanced at her, then turned away with a slight wave back.
"Is it really forcing if she is safe and underneath his care?" Maruki asked.
"Did you even consider her feelings about this? What if she doesn't WANT to be 4 inches tall?" Ren asked. "She has a life, but one that doesn't involve her being tiny."
Maruki sighed. "I thought I could reason with you... do you perhaps need another week?"
Akechi and Sumire stared at Ren expectantly.. The boy sighed and looked back. "No."
"I can sense your hesitation."
Ren looked at Maruki and stopped.
"One more week, and then you should have your definite answer."
With that, Maruki got up and left. Akechi turned to Ren and sighed.
"You're SERIOUSLY considering his reality?"
"N-no... I'm not."
Sumire motioned to Ren's face, so the boy lifted his palm. The tiny girl placed a hand on his nose and rubbed it.
"I'm sorry, Senpai. I never meant for any of this to happen."
"It's not your fault, Sumire," Ren replied. He gently cupped her in his hands and held her close to him. He then got up from the table and turned to Akechi.
"I need to just... think. I don't know what to do. I obviously want Sumire to return to normal, but then again... everyone is happy here."
"She won't be herself," Akechi stated. "And no one else will be either."
Sumire looked at Akechi and then back at Ren. "Whatever you pick, Senpai, I'll be ok with. Honest."
Ren shook his head. "You can't stay like this. No matter how badly Maruki wants me to accept his reality so you can be normal, we need to go back to our regular reality. He's punishing YOU for reverting back to your old self."
"Then I'll do my very best to support you all in this fight," Sumire replied. "I may not be able to help you right now, but I can definitely give you my support."
Akechi smirked. "That's good to hear. So? What do you say, Ren?"
Ren looked down at the tiny girl, then back at the brunette. His lips curled into a gentle smile.
"Alright. When Maruki comes back next week... we're taking back reality. No matter how big or small."
"H-huh...? A-a crush of mine...?"
Tumblr media
"Ah... Ahahaha...! I-I get it! Funny joke..." But the grayface wasn't going away... Her nervous laughter trailed off into awkward silence.
Tumblr media
"W-wait, you're not being serious, a-are you...? O-oh boy... B-but... I like... a lot of people..." More than she'd like to admit, in fact. Why was everyone around her so kind and beautiful? It wasn't fair!
Tumblr media
"U-um... well... I-I've already confessed to Teddie... and I know I have no chance with Gogo... I guess... I-I know it's selfish of me, b-but... I... I r-really like... Amamiya-senpai... H-he's very understanding and kind. He hasn't ever held it against me when I made an utter baffoon of myself or stumbled over my words or manners. He listens carefully to what I have to say, and takes it with full seriousness. Instead of ridiculing me for not understanding something, he explains things to me calmly. And... he's willing to stay and be friends with me, even after seeing the parts of me I want to hide the most from the world, and even from myself. It... it also helps that he's incredibly handsome, to be honest. He's... really cool. I genuinely worry for my heart whenever I'm near him, because I could pass out from a heart attack if I'm not careful."
Tumblr media
"But I know I can never ask him out on a date. Not only would it be impolite, but I'm just not worth his time in that way. That's how it is for a lot of my crushes. I'm honestly lucky Teddie responded so favorably, really. Senpai probably already knows I like him a lot anyway. People always tell me I'm easy to read. If he doesn't know, then I'd like to keep it that way. Otherwise, I'll ruin the perfectly good friendship we somehow managed to maintain, even with all my awful blunders."
Phantom of Harajuku
I haven’t posted here in ages, but I guess this is a better place to share my dumb P5 short fanfic than Youtube comments, until I make an AO3 account. Mishima, Ren, Ryuji and Ann were hanging out on a perfectly normal day in Harajuku.
Or at least it was, until the iron-buckled belt of evil struck.
Sakamoto was the first to fall. He tried to run, but his foe was too clever, a belt whipping out to strike him in the knee, tripping him, before two others tightened around his legs. “I like to call that one… below the belt!”, laughed the mysterious trenchcoated man.
“RYUJI, NO!”, yelled Ann, until a belt around her mouth silenced her screams, and another around her waist prevented her escape.
Ren Amamiya and his weird cat could only watch in horror, frozen, at this unexpected assault. He barely had time to reflect on the situation when yet another belt whipped out from the foe’s coat and bound his arms behind his back.
“Mwahahahaha! The puny Phantom Thieves have fallen, and now I, Captain Trenchcoat, will rule Harajuku!!”
Ren, through winces of pain, could only mutter:
“Mishima… it’s all… up to you now… you have… to save us…!”
The flames of justice ignited in Mishima’s soul, and he knew what he had to do.
“The Phantom Thieves will never fall to one such as you!”, he yelled triumphantly, and with that, the street was engulfed in a crimson light.
In a flash, Mishima was gone, and in his place stood a dashing rogue dressed in a black tailcoat, wearing an extravagant top hat and stylish monocle (that Mishima had trouble seeing though, not that it stopped him).
“Your reign of tyranny is over! I, the greatest Phantom Thief, Jester, have come to take your distorted desires!”
The people gasped in awe. “It’s the true leader of the Phantom Thieves!”, they cried, “He’s so awesome, and not a loser!”
“People of the Phandom, give me your energy!”, Mishima, er, “Jester” yelled and posed wildly.
An orb of power grew in his hands, and as he released it, the burst disintegrated the belts holding Ryuji, Ann and Ren in an instant. “Noooooooooo!”, cried Captain Trenchcoat. “How can one person be so amazing!”
His lament was quickly silenced as a calling card streaked through the air, striking him in the center of his forehead. The villain fell to his hands and knees and begged: “I yield, Phantom Thief! I shall confess my crimes and atone for my evil ways!” The people of Tokyo cheered uproariously. Suddenly, three maids from Akihabara rushed to Mishima’s side, hugging him tightly.
“Oh Mishima-senpai, you’re so wonderful!”, one giggled.
“How can we ever repay you for saving us”, another wondered.
“I know”, the third said seductively. “Close your eyes…” She leant her lips in close and said, in a deep, gravelly voice:
 “Are you listening??”
 Mishima had barely jolted back to harsh reality when he got a second reality check, as a piece of chalk slammed into his forehead.
“Pay attention! Ugh, kids these days…”, Ushimaru grumbled.
“Maybe we should change your heart.”, Mishima muttered under his breath as he glanced towards the windows, where Ren and Ann sat.
One day they’d show the whole world. Show them how awesome he, er, the Phantom Thieves, really were.
Who stole who’s heart?
Pegoban fic anyone?
Finished writing my first pegoban fic. A drabble anyway. You can check it out on ao3: here. Crossposting it here.
Summary:  A drabble pegoban series. Was it a secret admirer? Or a prank? While everyone but his friends liked him in Shujin, whether it was a prank or some secret admirer, he welcomed it.
.
.
.
.
"You're Ren Amamiya?"
A gentle, honeyed voice rang.
Ren couldn't help but look as no one had ever spoken to him like that.
Everyone in Shujin saw him like some leper. Exaggerated rumors had spread wide. Ranging from saying how he had a long list of crimes: alcohol, smoking or theft. Some had even mentioned he carried some firearms with him and was scary enough to have almost killed someone. No one would dare to look at him. Eyes tends to avoid his. If you dared to look into his eyes, you're the next guy to disappear. And so on and so forth.
He only knew a handful of people in Shujin that differed.
There was Ryuji's excitable voice, Morgana's childish yet proud tone and Ann's fiery and determined voice.
What greeted him stupefied him in ways like no other.
"For you." What looked to be a senpai Ren thinks. Silver eyes and silver hair. His eyes revealed nothing as he handed him a bag of pastries.
"Uh..." Though his eyes were hidden by his glasses he blinked behind them unsure what to make of the gesture.
Plus he was studying at the library.
"Here. They're delicious." The senpai says then lays the mentioned gift on his opened notebook.
The silver-haired guy smiles, looking pleased with himself and turns back to leave the library.
Ren turns back to look back at the bag of mixed cookies, biscuits and chocolates.
He didn't know if it was a prank or someone passed it to the guy to hand it to Ren.
Ren knew no girl in Shujin would give him one. A prank or some secret admirer thing.
So later at night, after dinner, when he opened his bag to do some reading, there it was. The bag of sweets were there.
"Woooah. Where did you get those? Do you have some secret admirer or is it lady Ann?"
Oh yeah. He was living with a cat now.
Ren ignored the cat and opened the pastries. They looked mouth watering. The sweets were a mix of detailed cat faces and paw shaped sweets in a detailed manner. Cats with eyes as a chocolate chip, whiskers made of white chocolate he thinks. Paws with pink colored chocolate. They were very elaborate.
They looked so good that he put one in his mouth before thinking that they could be some prank.
No regrets.
They were delicious like no other.
First sweets in Tokyo. It made him feel that if this was a prank in Shujin or joke by some student, it was a really nice.
He ignored Morgana's secretly asking face. He was a proud not cat thing.
He savored every last bite.
.
.
.
.
It was one horrible, nasty day. A suicide attempt, an expulsion threat.
He had a letter.
Elegant writing that only had one sentence.
I'm cheering for you, so don't give up.
It wasn't signed.
The writing was definitely handwritten.
Somehow, it made him feel better.
.
.
.
.
The gestures continued.
"Ummm. Amamiya-san?"
It was lunch and he was supposed to head to the cafeteria to try to catch a bread before heading up to meet-up with his friends.
Ren gave a silent hum, his way of saying yes. He hoped the girl made her talk fast.
"Someone passed this on for you." And there it was. A bentou? With a note.
Another one? And a bentou?
So when he headed to the rooftop, he put the note beside him as he opened the bentou.
Ann and Ruji both gasped with surprise and maybe hunger.
"Woooah! Dude! You cook?"
"They look so delicious Ren!"
"No. I've never cooked."
Seeing their confused faces, Ren took the note and read it.
That had more than one sentence this time.
To cheer you up.
And instructions to leave the bentou with the lunch lady?
"Maybe Ren has some secret admirer?" Ann guessed.
"Do you think it's some prank?" Ryuji asked but eyes still looking at the delicious looking bentou.
"Only one way to find out." Was all he said before taking a bite.
And another.
"Well?"
And another.
"Is it really safe to eat that? Like what if you hurt your stomach later or you vomit or something?"
Ren just continued to eat.
Morgana just looked with an exasperated face as if expecting it. Ryuji and Ann just looking in curiosity.
After eating awhile, Ren stopped and looked at his friends.
"It's delicious. Hmmm. And if my stomach hurts later, I think it's worth it."
"Maybe he has some weirdo of a secret admirer." Morgana pipes up.
"Or maybe Ren-Ren's lucky? Dude, look at this writing." Ryuji waves it to Ann.
"That's some elegant writing. Maybe you do have some secret admirer!?" Ann starts off with excitement tingling in her voice. "Like maybe, she's just scared to come out because of the rumors?"
"That would be sort of too good to be true with the bad rumors around us don't you think?" Ryuji pointed out.
"Yeah. That's possible but it could be the other way too you know! Look! The note's isn't one of those cutesy letters. This is also sort of mysterious. Just one line. It's not signed. Not even anonymous. If the change of heart we did with Kamoshida works, maybe she would confess?" Ann says with happiness.
"No way she would confess. I say this is a prank."
"I think Ren has a secret admirer." Ann argued back, bending with ger hands on her waist.
"It could be a stalker?" Morgana asks.
"No way!" Ann says passionately, already lost in her thoughts of it being a secret admirer.
"You guys want some? It is delicious." Ren offered.
The two boys offered similar no's. Ann disagreed for a different reason, along the lines of the food for him and she should not eat them.
"If the change of heart works, and if that girl continues to give Ren gifts and confess. I'll believe it." Ryuji said.
"How about a bet? This girl is a secret admirer. Oh and if you lose, treat me to this new crepe shop." Ann says in response, glee all over her tone.
"It's a prank. Do my english homework for 2 weeks if you lose."
"This is so weird. And really not how phantom thieves should act. Ren, aren't you going to say anything?" Morgana asks the subject of the fiasco.
"They're delicious? Maybe I'll write a response."
And that gave Ann more excitement for a bet.
He got dubious looks when he later peeled a page out of his notebook and writes a simple "Thank you. They did." Attached to the bentou.
.
.
.
.
Ann smirked over to Ryuji after Kamoshida's confession.
Ren reported receiving a book with another note.
"I always believed you were innocent. A gift for the truth of who you reminded me of."
It was a hard earned victory. People apologized.. For Ren, the note rivaled their victory and any apologies provided.
If this was a true to god honest admirer, then Ren wouldn't mind knowing seeing more of it.
@sylviareviar asked// "Um, Amamiya-senpai? What's a 'red-light' district? I keep asking if it's a district full of red lights and traffic, but no one will actually tell me anything when I ask... They keep laughing, too. I'm a little bit worried. Is it something bad?"
--
Tumblr media
Ren jumped a little bit. "It's uh, a part of town with a lot of bars and other adult activities. Not a place for highschoolers like us."
Well, not that he was following that suggestion himself, considering he already had a job at a bar in Shinjuku. But she didn't need to know that.
REPLY TO x @learcarum because these two give me so many thoughts
Tumblr media
Today has been ROUGH in all honestly, her father never seemed pleased with her efforts, she was off in her routine in which caused her to get frustrated about it due to the result ending in her almost hurting herself. So of course, it ends up affecting her when around Akechi and of course he responds like such.
Some probably would expect her to FLINCH away when he speaks like this, or even perhaps get teary eyed from such a harsh tone. But alas, they'd be horribly wrong, for she prefers this coming from him. She comes to him specifically because of this, he's not one to beat around the bush with her, he doesn't treat her like a fragile piece of china.
Maybe some would respond or even try to interrupt him but honestly? She just listens to his rant and processes it, from the first initial words he said in response to what she said to him telling her that needs to hold her is herself if nobody has her. Not him, not Amamiya. And... it's not that she doesn't know that, it's that she just struggles to stand completely on her own. Afterall, at least when she was Kasumi, she wasn't completely alone mentally. It had felt as if her sister was there to guide her and lend a hand.
But now... now that she's SUMIRE and only Sumire, it's an adjustment that's for sure. And she just needs someone to set her straight once in awhile, and the best person for that besides Ren-Senpai? Well, it's obvious isn't it? Of course it's Akechi-Kun.
She takes a deep breath, there's no point in filtering any sort of response with him. " ...You always know just what to say to verbally smack me back to my senses. I'll be the first to admit that no matter what you say? I know you're right about it in most scenarios. I'll die before I please everyone, I know that I need to live for myself and that if nobody has me then I must hold myself. "
She doesn't even sound ANGRY when acknowledging it, she is just honestly admitting that yes, he's right. No protest about it.
" ...I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's hard to let go of old habits still. So hearing you say it helps a lot. "
It's her way of saying thank you without truly speaking it aloud, for she doesn't feel as if the word is verbally needed here.
HAVE YOU HEARD? - Ren & Kasumi Side Story
This side story is set during the early events of heist one - therefore there will be discussion of sexual abuse.
Kasumi Yoshizawa: So this is Leblanc… it seems like such a nice place.
Sojiro Sakura: Hm? Oh hello there. Are you here to order something?
Kasumi Yoshizawa: Oh, no, not actually. I’m here to visit someone who I met today at Shujin.
Sojiro Sakura: Are you talking about… hey, Amamiya! Get downstairs! Someone wants to see you!
Ren Amamiya: …? Oh, hello again Yoshizawa-san.
Kasumi Yoshizawa: I’m glad to run into you, senpai! Do you mind if I can speak to you?
Ren Amamiya: Of course. You can come up to my room and we can talk there.
Kasumi Yoshizawa: Thank you very much!
Ren Amamiya: So what do you want to talk about?
Kasumi Yoshizawa: You met him too, right? The Detective Prince…
Ren Amamiya: Akechi? Yes, I did. He’s just as charming as they say he is.
Kasumi Yoshizawa: He is quite a nice person, I know that much. Yet there’s something that seems… off.
Ren Amamiya: Really? When I met him he seemed so cheerful and ready to start at Shujin.
Kasumi Yoshizawa: He was the same to me. But when I met him on the way out of school after classes, even though he had the same polite attitude, it was like he was hiding something.
Ren Amamiya: Hiding something? What do you mean?
Kasumi Yoshizawa: It was as if he wanted to leave as quickly as possible. He also didn’t seem very enthusiastic about me wanting to take him to the gym to show some things I learnt, despite him saying he would.
Ren Amamiya: How very strange. I’ll have to ask him tomorrow.
Kasumi Yoshizawa: Actually… senpai, have you heard about those rumours about the gym teacher?
Ren Amamiya: Kamoshida? My friend Ryuji was telling me about him, saying I should avoid him if possible. Something about abuse…
Kasumi Yoshizawa: Akechi-senpai mentioned to me he had a gym class today. It makes me wonder if something happened to him… something bad.
Ren Amamiya: I hope not. And even if he did, I’m sure he’d bring him to justice either way! I’m sure the Detective Prince isn’t afraid of anything.
Kasumi Yoshizawa: You’re probably right, but still. I want to check on his well-being, just in case.
Ren Amamiya: … it sounds like such a drastic change for it to be anything good…
Ren Hey are you alright? Kasumi-san told me you seemed a bit down heading home. Akechi I’m alright. I just had a long day and I’m on my way home. Ren Did you go straight to the office? Akechi I did actually. Not for long though. Since it was my first day at school, my father wanted me to get home quickly. Ren That makes sense. Say hi to him for me. Akechi Of course I will! Look after yourself though.
Ren Amamiya: Nothing seemed to be particularly out of the ordinary there.
Kasumi Yoshizawa: Maybe I’m just overthinking it.
No… something seems… off…
