Will you guys be doing TMP as well?

Well, this blog's daily TMA relisten was done quite a bit after tma was fully over.

In order to do an episode a day for TMAGP it would need to be fully completed and that won't be anytime soon.

I am definitely all for doing a daily relisten in a few years' time when we already have the whole series, provided we are all still in the fandom <3

TMA Appreciaton Week II is a prompt week to celebrate the Magnus Archives, the people behind it, and the fandom memories that have been created. This event will run August 6th to August 12th and feature fanworks for your favorite characters, scenes, ships, and more. Each day five different prompts will be provided for inspiration but don’t feel like you have to stick to them. If you have an idea you want to use, feel free to use it.

TMA’s narrative structure and its reflection in character dynamics

With the end of @a-mag-a-day, I though it would be a perfect time to post this meta-analysis I’ve been thinking about for ages! Its always fun when a story’s ending wraps back around to its beginning in some way, and TMA dips into this a tiny bit via the “can I have a cigarette” moment, but I think the wider narrative structure and parallels in TMA actually get way more interesting than that. Long rambly analysis below cause I’m a writing nerd, and also remember this is purely my own personal interpretation.

This fic did get recced (recked?) already, but it was part of a batch, so I would like to give it its own post for emphasis because it absolutely deserves it: we should ride this wave to shore by @clarionglass! It’s a chatfic (of which multiple people have said “I’m not usually into chatfics, but”) and an Everyone Is Friends/Nobody Dies AU, which was apparently only supposed to be a couple chapters long but got completely out of hand and accidentally developed a remarkably coherent plot with a really satisfying conclusion! I heartily recommend it for post-200 recovery.

(Also, anyone who hasn’t listened to the Mechanisms before, go listen to the Mechanisms.)

happy late anniversary to the last episode of the podcast that ruined my life! When will the Magnus Archives leave my brain. Symbolism below the cut ty

🌼 Martin's got hyacinths at his back, for deep sorrow. He's got ten of them, and also lil arrows arranged like the ten of swords, which indicates he's been the victim of betrayal

🌼 the white flowers around Jon's head and by Martin's shoulder are lily of the valley, which is for rebirth

🌼 red dahlias at the base of the knife for betrayal and dishonesty. The knife is fairly obvious.

🌼 the yellow flowers scattered around Jon are back eyed susans, for justice

🌼 and, finally, resting between them: yarrow, for everlasting love
