Was just shown this.
To be honest, I’d be laughing more than upset. I’d feel even further vindicated.
As we all know, Kara flew to Paris to get Lena’s favorite pastries for a lunch date on the show.
It’s yet more validation for fans that what was written and shown for Supercorp was so often romantically framed by repeatedly using traditional romantic couple tropes and iconic DC couple cliches. The show knew what they were doing and as stated many times, it was proven repeatedly and irrefutably on tape via numerous Clois scene recreations since as far back as 2x01, constant romantic framing and parallels, Lena dressed like comic book and other media Lois many times, their scenes overlaid with romantic music multiple times, their scenes intercut with romantic couples several times, and like with the above — them fulfilling traditional romantic tropes in DC and other fiction throughout history (including a literal balcony shot framed Romeo and Juliet style) etc — again, on tape and fully proven.
So again, y’all are fully valid in shipping it as well as (passionately but appropriately) standing up against the harmful media practice of queerbaiting when it comes to LGBTQ representation. Never let anyone gaslight you into thinking SC wasn’t very real, very much framed as romantic — and sadly very wrong in 2021 — to only be half ass implied via some open ended wink wink with coming out and conversion therapy metaphors in the series finale, rather than explicitly being made canon, which thus lead to further invalidation, harassment, gaslighting and toxicity towards LGBTQ viewers at the online fingers of abusers and homophobes.
Anyway, this is GREAT, in my opinion. It’s hilarious, and further validation for fans. 😎
I was already excited for Superpets as a big fan of DC characters and stories, and now I can’t wait to see that and just smile. 😏

Ayyye Supercorp just won Warner Brazil’s poll for best couple during Pride month. They were included with only canon couples (😏), and still won. And Kara won for character who had the most injustice / poor treatment or whatever. Dansen was up for best kiss, and had a ton of votes but “Choni” (not even sure what show that’s from tbh) beat ‘em out, dang.
Anywho. Very cool for SC fans to pull off the win against so many lead canon couples!

So that Batwoman CW comic… Lena saying:
“My girl Kara”
+
“I’ve got a hot date tonight in National City and don’t want to mess this up.” Lena says with a Pride flag in the window behind her.
+
“It turned into something I never thought I’d find.”
Whew they’re pushing as close to canon Supercorp in this comic as the network tie in would allow, huh. 😏🤌
Everybody thank Natalie Abrams, known Supercorp warrior and the writer of the comic.

So it’s now officially canon that post-series finale and that crossover mentioning Kara and J'onn briefly being off-world (probably to Mars or something), Kara is still on/back on Earth in the present, still side by side with her “bestie” (wife) Lena, still sharing all secrets with her.

I still want to know what that Benoist interview was about ahead of Season 6, when someone asked her about William and she dodged the topic and name entirely and instead mentioned the “amount of possibilitieS” for Kara in terms of love interestS (plural on both) and a “slow burn”… which Wara never was. Karamel never was. And there were no other love interest possibilities for Kara on the show at the time, except for Lena. And the only slow burn was Supercorp. Benoist herself even called it that before…
As crazy as it may sound, I will always wonder if SC stood a real shot at happening in the final season, especially given how 6B started to play out when Lena returned, and not just as the queerbait they’d done all along and stuck with in the end. All the on main flirting and blushing smiles and intimate one-on-one dinners and hang outs alone and Lena filling the traditional love interest role in terms of the framing and themes, and the gayzes, and it made canon that she was Kara’s ‘perfect partner at game night’ and made canon that LENA was source of Kara’s happiness and hope, as we learned via Nyxly. And multiple totems being solved between the two of them –
And then suddenly, an abrupt shift occurs as if someone at the top had a last second freak out, Supercorp stops having intimate dinners and one on one hang outs and flirty vibes and effectively stops being connected to the totems RIGHT when the love totem was coming up, and instead there’s a sudden Nyxly/Lex love story that even Cryer acted like was out of nowhere. It really felt like they were possibly aiming to go there by the end of the series, and honestly there were rumors going around about a SC endgame moment in the series finale from sources that had numerous other things correct (but who knows if they had that part right…). Alas, instead it’s as if they took a hard left around the last 4-ish episodes, and settled for a coming out metaphor and wink wink little things like Kara singing “we belong together” while looking at Lena and following after Lena once she had decided on this new open and hopeful life, etc.
Shame they decided to instead just secure their legacy as one of the worst queerbaits in TV history. And effectively be forgotten outside of Benoist’s performance, Supercorp, and introducing the first trans hero. End of the day, the show will most be remembered for Supercorp and what they didn’t do with it, for years to come, by shitting the bed with the most popular ship in Arrowverse history and the best chemistry on TV in YEARS.
Alas, Supercorp will live on.
Sucks to be whoever made that bad call. 😂

Hey Anon, I won’t publish the Ask. I’ll just respond in a new post.
Yes, it’s always funny (and ridiculous) when people say Supercorp wasn’t made canon because “they didn’t want to reward a toxic fandom”. First of all, that blames harmful practices in media on (small pockets of) fans rather than those in charge, and that’s simply not okay.
Secondly, unlike people who hate the ship for their own biased or homophobic reasons, most people with any shred of intelligence or common sense can differentiate between the toxic portion (<5%) of a fandom versus the widespread, diverse global majority who just ship the ship, or even are very passionately loud and unafraid to (respectfully) call out genuinely offensive things expressed by the show, writers or even actors at various times.
But most importantly, the reality is that they actually DID cater to the Supercorp fandom more often than not, as much as possible with what appeared to be certain blocks from the top. Time and again they’d make bad creative decisions (not just about Supercorp but also around the disrespect of women and canon LGBTQ elements in general), Supercorp fans would be the main if not at times only ones to call it out and pressure them to do better, and they’d wind up having no choice but to switch it up or lose more and more viewership and respect — which always made the show better. Or, slightly less awful, anyway. For the most part, Supercorp fans really drove majority of the best parts of the show, let’s be real, by constantly holding TPTB’s feet to the fire. Now…
Let’s review all the times the show DID “reward” Supercorp fans, shall we?
Every other ship Kara or Lena were involved in sank hard, and only the two of them were left standing side-by-side in the end.
The show’s big, celebratory, show-defining 100th episode was not about Kara’s life on Earth nor past on Krypton, nor her sisterhood with Alex, nor any past love interests or otherwise — it was solely about Supercorp, with a title that alludes to a movie where a man wanted his life back after his troubled wife didn’t recognize him, just like Kara wanted to go back to her normal life after a world where a troubled Lena didn’t recognize her. It also had ‘wink’ SC easter eggs like them able not to testify against each other in an AU world where they were “partners” from the beginning and no other love interests even existed. It truly established how they find each other in any universe, are soulmates, and possibly even married.
It’s CANON that “Blank Slate Kara” aka Red Daughter only knew two things about herself: that she had someone close to her in a sibling way named Alex… and Lena’s name. And being inexplicably drawn to Lena. She also loved The Great Gatsby for the romance (where a man loved a beautiful wealthy woman he worried he couldn’t have), sought Lena out at risk of blowing her cover, gaped at her like a fish in awe upon first sight, and included numerous pictures of Kara and Lena on the wall by her bed. Making huge part of who Kara was be intrinsically tied to Lena in a soulmate way was, again, about leaning heavily into Supercorp.
It’s CANON that after saying she didn’t want to be alone anymore, and struggling with trauma and negative emotions all season, Kara was “hopeful and happy” because of Lena, while literally sitting with Lena during one of their multiple intimate, romantic couple-like moments at the end of those S6 episodes. It’s also CANON that after saying a while back how she wanted love with someone who was her perfect partner at game night and knew everything about her, Lena was her partner for game nights and knew everything about her.
The last real conversation of the entire series was a deeply emotional moment between — of all people or pairings or relationships on the show — Kara and Lena (and it had conversion therapy and coming out metaphors mixed in, to boot).
In the series finale montage about their futures, Lena — while wearing red of course — is opening her foundation and looks up to the unseen sky with a smile, implying Kara was watching from above. Just like at the DEO re-opening, Kara looks over to the unseen side with a smile (even though J’onn and Alex were next to her), implying Lena was watching nearby. The implications of this was huge, suggesting they’d always remain side-by-side, always together, just as Lena said they would.
Speaking of, at the wedding, Kara looked towards Lena while singing “we belong together” and then looked at Lena again and smiled and followed her after setting her glasses down and deciding to begin the next, new phase of her life.
A show writer from around S2-3 openly said she was rooting for SC, and had even written “Supercorp fans squeal” into a script.
A show writer from S5-6 openly liked tweets calling Kara a gay mess in love with Lena.
Etc etc etc.
Ultimately, Supercorp was endgame, in the “best” (using that term loosely due to a thousand missed opportunities and terrible creative choices at every step) way possible with a fear and/or ego-based phobic block at the top.
They clearly went as far as they could, which ultimately just secured them the new title for biggest queerbait in TV history, rather than something that people should thank them for. Because it was 2021. “Going as far as they can, but not ACTUALLY delivering fully.” is unacceptable. That was fine for Xena TWO DECADES AGO (a show that actually did far more overtly canon things like kisses and love declarations than SG ever did). But it’s not fine now. It’s far from fine. It’s offensive, and harmful as hell.
Anyway, the point is — Supercorp fans were catered to more than anybody, even if they were somehow also oddly at the same time disrespected more than anybody. And in the end, Supercorp fans “won” with an implied endgame and all other ships involving Kara and Lena 100% totally over and buried forever.
For all the reasons explained above, Supercorp not being made explicit canon wasn’t about “not rewarding a toxic fandom”, it was about phobia from one or more people making the final decisions. Plain and simple. And it’s all on tape as evidence since 2x01 with the numerous Clois parallels, romantic couple parallels, romantic framing, romantic music, cast and crew social activity and much more. Thusly, that declaration is not only false, but utterly moot.
