Am I the asshole for letting my Haunter travel with me outside his pokeball?

Okay so I (20nb) have had my Haunter, Mephisto, for a good amount years now (probably about 8) and he's definitely my partner pokemon, as we've grown very close over this time and he's the main pokemon I use for battling. I caught him when he was a Gastly, and still have his pokeball if he ever needs to be in it (i.e., When he faints) however I've found he doesn't really care for being in it, and I also enjoy having his company outside of it. This is where I may be the asshole. I was traveling through a small town and was stopping by a small playground to relax on a bench and grab a lemonade from the vending machine there, when Mephisto wandered off a bit to go see what some local kids were doing. Now Mephisto is very well trained and would never hurt anyone outside of a battle, however I also understand that not everyone knows that. He ended up freaking the kids out pretty bad on accident, and they're parents were pissed at me for "letting a ghost pokemon out of their ball like that". I apologized to them and the kids, and let them all know that he's actually very friendly and just liked to play, however the parents were still furious with me (the kids seemed fine at this point). Mephisto still feels bad about scaring the kids too, and I'm wondering if I'm doing the right thing letting him stay out of his pokeball all the time. So, aita?

AITA for quitting my gym leader duties to pursue an education in a different region?

i (16F) am a gym leader from an unspecified region who specializes in ghost-type pokémon. the thing about that is, i'm the second-strongest gym leader in my region, so hardly any trainers make it to the point in their gym challenge where they have to battle me. because of this and a number of other factors (not the least of which being the nasty rumors that have circulated around my hometown about me following the deaths of my parents, which i won't delve into), i've been hiding away from the rest of the world, living the life of a neet, more or less. for the past couple of years, i've felt... stuck.

then an opportunity arose. i saw that uva academy in paldea was offering a limited number of international scholarships, so i applied for one and my application was granted. the thing is, i did this without telling anyone. most of the other gym leaders and league staff weren't too happy with me when i informed them after the fact that i would be stepping away for a while to focus on my education. they called me selfish, said the league couldn't function without me, that they weren't sure if they could get someone to fill in for me on such short notice, and that they didn't understand why i have to travel to a different region in order to do this. but it sure as hell doesn't seem like i'm needed most of the time and i can't just keep sitting idly by until i am, especially not at the cost of my own mental health.

am i being unreasonable? AITA?

AITA for trading away a Pokemon that was being mean to mine?

Let me explain. I don't want to use my name, so for now I'll refer to myself as V (15M). I was with 3 people, two of which are my friends, who I'll call Non(16F) and Cas(14F) and one of which is my current partner, who I'll call Ven (16M). We live in Paldea, and we're students at Uva, a famous academy there. All 4 of us were given permission to go to an out-of-bounds area by the region's professor. You know, full of strong Pokemon, dangerous, only opened up when necessary, the whole ordeal. We were on our way to a building in said out-of-bounds area when a Pokemon that looked like mine blocked our way. My Pokemon is a Cyclizar who had lost its ability to battle due to an accident and now can only be used as a ride Pokemon. The Cyclizar that had approached us was visibly stronger than any of our Pokemon and was looking at mine, meaning that they probably knew eachother or had at least met. At first, Non thought they were family/friends, so she thought that they missed each other. My Cyclizar was clearly afraid of the other, backing away from it. All four of us had a mutual agreement that this Cyclizar was threatening mine.

After some complications we had later on, I found the previously mentioned Cyclizar and caught it. It did have a trainer before, but they passed away several years ago. I took care of the Cyclizar for a while-fed it, played with it, it a bath, had a picnic with it-and then I traded it away to a stranger. I really didn't want my Pokemon, essentially my best friend, be worried that it was going to get hurt.

AITA for picking a starter based off-of their final evolutions?

So a while ago when I moved to Paldea, I was given the choice between a Fuecoco, a Quaxly, and a Sprigatito. I had a hard time choosing between them, so I decided to quickly use my phone to see what they would evolve into.

I personally thought that Quaquaval and Meowscarada looked weird, so I ended up picking Fuecoco. However, the Sprigatito and Quaxly seemed saddened that I didn't pick them. Sprigatito was headbutting my leg and everything!

AITA for picking Fuecoco solely because of what it would evolve into?

AITA for fusing Miltank and Galvantula?

I recently joined a group of researchers dedicated to stabilizing Miltank fusions for a job. The group's goal is to make different types of Moo Moo Milk with different benefits. A bit of an issue with this though is that some people outside of the project find these fusions off-putting to say the least.

For my first assignment, I took on stabilizing the fusion between Miltank and Galvantula. I figured that the webs being combined with the Moo Moo Milk could create something interesting. When I finished the stabilization though, everyone started to get freaked out despite this literally being the place where Miltank fusions are created.

I personally feel that everyone's a hypocrite and that Miltula deserves love, but am I the asshole for creating it?

AITA for (attempting) killing somebody using my Doublade?

OK this is sounds bad but hear me out, for context I am a male (13) originally from Hoenn came to Kalos to go to do my first journey with my starter a Riolu (later evolve into Lucario) given to me by my father and grandfather.

On my journey I caught a Honedge that didnt want to evolve into Aegislash as my eight capture in the region, I don't have any problem with this, mind you, as I doesn't like Aegislash too much anyways and liking Doublade more. And although I don't have problem with it apparently some people, who like to poke their nose onto someone else problem doesn't like both our decision because apparently that I have been holding back my Doublade potential. So this male Karen heard our plan to go to a jewelry shop so I can buy my Doublade something to hold his everstone so it won't slip in the battle, I dont know what triggers it but this Karen start to screamed at me about how I 'abuse' my Pokemon's so they afraid to evolve and about how I should handed over all of my Pokemon before he called on officer Jenny to report my 'abuse'.

We all probably had an experience dealing with this kind of Karen on our journey at least once right? So I already prepared to dealt with it by ignoring him. Apparently its a mistake as the Karen figured it out that if I ignoring him then he'll stalk me until I bend to his will, mind you I am camping on the wildness to avoid being interrupted when I'm training my other 'Mons. And because of that the inevitable happen, my Braixen who's been sparring with my Lucario accidentally fired a Will-O-Wisp in the direction of Karen's tent and it catches on fire, thankfully all of his stuff is still outside since he just finished setting up his tent, deliberately close to our training ground, and thats how the nuclear start, and by Arceus he's lucky that I did not immediately kill him in the forrest, he throw tantrum about how I order my Pokemon to kill him before he reported my 'abuse' to Jenny when I apologize to him about the tent and promising him that I will replace it once we got in to the near town. He won't have it though even tho its his own fault that he set his tent near my Pokemon training ground, mind you we already camped here for almost a week now.

But anyways long story short when we arrived at the closest town after the nightmarish walk accompany by the Distortion world most devilish creature that made even Darkrai jealous I immediately go to a pokecenter to book a room and for some of my Pokemon to get a health check after a week on the road, I headed to my room to stash my things before going to sightseeing with some of my teammates, now apparently some of them chose to lazing in the room rather than sightseeing so I left them with my stuff to guard while I take a walk with my starter and Doublade. I don't do much on my walk just finding a jewelry store to bought some kind of ring that the everstone can be placed on the center of it for my Doublade and a new tent to replace what I owe to Karen. I actually became a bit suspicious when I don't see a hair of him to pester me about the so-called abuse but I don't think much about it picked up my Pokemon's from nurse Joy, but I should have been wary because lo and behold the Karen leisurely sprawled on the bed with his things scattered on it and my belongings tossed on the floor carelessly with my remaining two Pokemon's growling at him, then he had the audacity to say that I should sleep on the floor while he take the bed "is the least you can do for destroying my tent" he say. I had non of it and gather his belongings and throw them to the hallway along with his new tent while he screeched at me while chasing after his things. He caused so much ruckus that made other people who stayed on the same floor poked their heads out to see what's the commotion is about, someone even called officer Jenny on him when he try to go after the Pokemon egg I hold.

And that made me snap, I am tired hungry and in need to cuddle with my Pokemons and this Karen had the balls to go after my baby, so I hand over the egg to my Braixen before grabbing one of the handle of my Doublade sword and stabbed at the direction of Karen's head, I purposely miss but making sure that he got a thin slice on the side of his head where my Doublade sword embed on the wall, he immediately goes white "you listen to me you little shit, I am in no way have a requirements to comply in your entitled ass, but I have been very patient this last few days in hopes that you will leave me and mine alone, but now you just cross the line by attacking my baby, so I will give this options for you to follow, either you get the hell out of this floor calmly, or you get out of this building with a missing organ, it is yours to pick." And I mean every words I say, after I said that he began to scrambled gathering his things (including the new tent I bought) and running like Girantina themself after him.

Officer Jenny caught him before he leave the building tho, apparently one of the other trainer starts filming after they finished the call giving the officer the evidence she need to arrest the Karen.

So AITA?

aita for favoring ghost types?

i (34f) live in the woods with my pokemon. i have a lot, since the 6 limit is only for battling, and the majority are ghost types. on the occasion i do battle, i always use my ghosts. but my non-ghosts (a tinkaton, umbreon, clodsire, and a noivern) are feeling left out. i tell them its because my main battle team has all bases covered, but its really because i just prefer the aesthetic of an all-ghost team. it feels weird to send out mimikyu, annihilape, mismagius, froslass, and chandelure just to cap off the team with a bright pink gremlin, right? i love all my pokemon, and dont favor their treatment outside of battle, but im not sure if im ok to keep my battling like this. so, aita?

AITA for stopping kids from putting graffiti on my former tormentor's restaurant?

This is a long story but I (24M) inherited a Gym from my father a few years back and things have gone well. However, recently someone who I will call KB (25M) recently opened a restaurant in the city. To be frank, KB and I have some bad history where he used to challenge me to some, now that I think about it, pretty illegal battles where we had to fight side by side with our Pokemon instead of only having our Pokemon fight.

His Typhlosion was always amazing in those battles, but it probably wasn't a good thing to be at the brunt of his flamethrowers myself. Though I wouldn't want my Bulbasaur at the time to be faced with those flames and would take them for my Bulbasaur in a heartbeat.

Anyway, when I was sixteen my father had discovered what was going on and put in a petition with the League to ban KB from all League Affiliated tournaments and functions. It took a lot of convincing to let him keep his trainer's license because I have seen him with his Pokemon in moments where we weren't battling, and he always treated them well. Like they were a second family to him and I did not want him to lose that.

The condition was that I had to go through therapy, so I agreed because he never once brought harm to his Pokemon and should not lose them.

Anyway, recently I came to his restaurant in the hopes of getting a fresh start and to maybe bury the hatchet. But I saw a few people had defaced his restaurant with rude expletives and messages that were just awful. I want peace for the both of us, but the people in the city don't wish to forgive and forget it seems.

So I decided to stick around after eating at the restaurant and let out my Dragonite to scare off people who were going to deface the restaurant more. But KB yelled at me to buzz off, that he could handle it himself and it kind of made me feel like a bit of a jerk.

So AITA for this?

AITA for snapping?

Recently another universe's version of me (16F) joined a Gliscord server I'm in. The problem is she's a horrible person. She treats the League like it's something sacred instead of the awful institution that keeps chewing up kids that it is, and she even runs a Team that tries to bully people into dropping out if they're not "good enough" which is just making the whole thing WORSE.

Like I get how she turned out like this bc I used to believe a lot of the same stuff (thanks great uncle), but I'm definitely in a position to judge bc I grew up exactly the same way she did and I'm actually trying to make things BETTER.

I might've been a bit of an asshole to her though. She was talking about how you need to be hard on people and if they're good enough they'll be grateful for it, and I kinda snapped and went "yeah and [insert a specific trauma thing from the way my great uncle trained me, which obviously is the way he trained her too]."

I guess it's also important that I use a pseudonym online. I knew she was me, but she didn't know I was her.

Ancestor, my thoughts were scattered here. Hope this makes sense at least.

So me and my more energetic Pokémon sometimes wrestle or just play, but a bunch of people are saying that it’s wrong. I asked one of my Pokémon that I have a mental link with if any of them dislike me play fighting(only do it if they really want me to) and he said no. yo! i know the title probably looks just a little bad but i promise, it's not as bad as it sounds!

so, the important people in this story are me ( 14 1/2, M ) 'n my big bro, D. ( 18, M )

D lives in paldea right now cuz he's goin to that real fancy school they got there, while i live in alola. we do videocalls a lot though, so we're in touch! this happened a couple weeks ago and i can't really shake it off. basically, D noticed i was wearin' my team skull uniform, and he got mad at me for it, even though i tried to stand my ground and explain myself! called my friends a bunch of " hooligans " ( seriously, who even uses that word anymore?! ) and told me to get outta team skull ASAP and go back home to our mom and pops.

problem is, they kicked me out! i don't wanna get into it, but basically, my folks and i didn't see eye to eye on somethin', and they gave me the boot cuz of it. and then, while i was on the streets, i saw some skull grunts. they were lookin' for recruits, so i said fuck it, and joined 'em. D says i should go back anyways, but i really don't wanna! team skull's like my family at this point! my best friend is here! i don't wanna leave her, or the rest of the team! but i'm worried D isn't gonna wanna talk to me again if i don't leave or go back home.

aita? my (10-15M) older sister (16-18F) stole my crush (10-15???) from me and then together they stole my lifelong dream of meeting my idol so i accidentally resurrected a group of ancient thieves. i think i might be in the wrong here because these thieves are huge jerks but they're also revered as heroes to my region. everyone except me, my crush, sister, and grandparents thinks they're the heroes of this ancient legend and that my idol is the bad guy, but i thought that i was the only one who figured my idol was cool. once i figured out that they knew the story was the other way around they lied and hid it from me because they knew that my idol is my favorite. i kinda got mad at them and i punched the altar that the thieves were enshrined at, and that brought them back from the dead somehow. i don't really know how that works though, so is it really my fault?
