SOFT ANGST STARTERS.
‘stay for me.’
‘what’s this between us?’
‘i don’t want your apology.’
‘you know i have feelings for you.’
‘yeah, i remember the drill.’
‘you’ve never hurt me. ever.’
‘then leave her/him/them. at home.’
‘i don’t believe it.’
‘this is breaking my heart.’
‘you met me at a very strange time in my life.’
‘what keeps you up at night?’
‘i wish you were here.’
‘i let you down.’
‘something strange happened here.’
‘you’re not safe here.’
‘i wasn’t ready to say goodbye.’
‘we are not the same, and never will be.’
‘don’t touch me.’
‘is it my fault?’
‘i’m not like them.’
‘i forgot my name again.’
‘i don’t know who i am.’
‘your fear of looking stupid is holding you back.’
‘are you still alive?’
‘i don’t like being told what to do.’
‘am i making you uncomfortable?’
‘nobody cares if you don’t go to the party.’
‘it was supposed to be fun, and you ruined it.’
‘where the hell are my friends?’
‘stop pretending life doesn’t terrify you.’

with: any student or professor where: the owlery when: weekend
She had been in there for a total of two hours and thirty seven minutes - not that she was counting. Sitting herself down on the dirty ground, the hay was starting to itch her thighs and she awkwardly pulled her skirt back down to her knees. Approximately six and a half letters had been written to her mother, all of which she was promptly discarded of with a simple vanishing charm.
The mother should not have bothered to write in the first place and Analise felt her chest clench the moment she’d received the owl that morning - the handwriting was a mess and firewhiskey stained the envelope so that only three quarters of the message was actually legible. She understood though - it was another nonsense rant from Jennifer Kim, scolding her daughter for being an ungrateful brat and for not caring enough for her dear, sick mother.
Only her mother was not sick, her mother was merely pathetic. “Ergh!” she tossed her things aside in frustration, her ink well spilling over the barn floor and soaking the leftover sheets of parchment, “Stupid, useless bitch.” Analise didn’t realise until after that there was someone in there with her - most likely having arrived during the time she was concentrating on her failed letter writing - and that the ink had leaked towards the sole of their shoes.
“Ah dang it,” she sighed, looking up at them from the ground, “Sorry - didn’t see you there.”

👀 + If you could say anything to one person in your life without any consequences, what would it be?
She braced herself, sitting upright in the couch - the following words were not going to be pretty and would likely result in a mess if overheard. “To my mother,” Analise began, the words like a burning poison on her tongue, “I wish I was never born your daughter. I am ashamed of you and everything that you are. There is nothing in your head but cobwebs and you value nothing over yourself - not your husband and not your daughter. You are a disgrace and I wish that I were never linked to you again.”

👀 + if you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
“I would like to be stronger,” she admitted quite easily, “There are a lot of things that I would like to change about my life in general but when it comes to me as an individual, I really wish that I was a stronger person - in my own emotional strength as also as a witch. I don’t believe in mediocrity, so I want to be the strongest possible.”

👀 + what is the most embarrassing thing to happen to you since you started at Hogwarts?
She grit her teeth and tightened her hands into delicate fists - absolutely not! It was a story that she swore she would never tell again and yet the serum was so strong that there was no way she could fight it. “When I was 11 and home for summer, my father tried to perfect my Expelliarmus but I tried for hours and hours and still couldn’t do it. I cried so hard that I peed my trousers,” she blurted, immediately covering her mouth, “I swear, if you repeat that to anyone, I will not hesitate to Leviosa you out of a tower!”

👀 + what's your greatest ambition?
This was a question that she thought would be easily answered - after all, she had made it to secret that she wanted to be the Head of the Auror Department. Truthfully though, she didn’t quite know what that entailed and it was all an excuse for something else. “I wish to be the best, the most envied of all,” she admitted, “Not because I’m pretty like my mother, but because of my successes. I wish to be so glorious that it is impossible for anyone to be disappointed in me.”

👀 + what do you hate about yourself?
She pressed her lips together - her usual answer would be absolutely nothing; she was pretty, she was smart and talented, and most definitely on the route to being someone important. But that was a lie and the truth serum would not allow her such a luxury. “I... I hate many things about myself, to be honest,” Ana admitted, fidgeting with the hem of her skin, “But the thing I hate the most is that I can’t be honest. There’s a lot of people in school that I want to befriend, a lot of questions I want to ask and things that I want to do, but I’m too much of a coward to do them. I have ambition, you see, but to pursue them I have forced myself to give up the luxury of recklessness. I must do the things that are right.”

👀 + what's something you deeply regret?
She thought about it for a moment and gave a sigh; there were a lot of small things she regret, little mistakes in examinations and smart comments that didn’t occur to her until it was too late. “Is it possible to regret my heritage?” she gave a sad chuckle, shaking my head, “I mean, being a halfblood has its perks and all - I’m sure that of all things I could be, being part Veela is one of the most desirable. However, I do wish that I hid it from the beginning - at least denied it when asked. It’s irritating that, no matter what I achieve, I’m sure that people will only care about whether I’m pretty.”

👀 + what's your greatest fear?
She hummed, sitting back on the lounge chair as she fidgeted with her fingers. It wasn’t something that she would often admit but, considered the administration of the truth serum - it wasn’t as though she had a choice. “My greatest fear would be failure,” she nodded, “And mediocrity. But I suppose that that is all surface level and I’m sure that it stems much further than that - I am afraid that I will not live up to my father’s expectations and, considering my mother is absolutely useless, I would not want to disappoint him even in his grave.”

He knew he shouldn’t be out this late, really. But he had been worried about the hippogriff who didn’t currently have a healthy appetite as a result of her injury. When he had finally succeeded in making her eat—a mix of insects which would make the normal person nauseous—it was already way past curfew and bedtime. He cursed, not wanting to be caught and put into detention. Again.
Breezing through the Hogwarts grounds, rain lightly pattering on his dark robes, Hugo made way for a window. It was one of those that could be opened with a simple alohomora spell—a tip he learned from his cousin. Most windows had an anti-unlocking charm, but not this one. Hugo promptly fitted into the window which led to an empty corridor, dropping with a light thud. It was at that moment he saw Analise Kim, pretty as a picture & daintily perched on a sill, and his jaw dropped. He was about to form words, when he heard sudden movement to his left. At the end of a corridor, he could perceive light footsteps approaching.
There wasn’t any time to waste. He signalled for Analise to remain silent, and motioned for her to follow him behind a tapestry, which revealed a small door and equally cramped room.
If the opening of the window didn’t catch Analise’ attention, then the thud of footsteps on the stone floor definitely did. She turned her gaze, eyes widening in surprise. First all, what was Granger-Weasley doing out of bed and, second of all - and most importantly - how dare he interrupt her alone time with the rain? She opened her mouth, about to deliver a snippy response to the boy’s presence but was immediately silenced by the approaching footsteps. Oh dang it.
Detention was definitely not going on her to-do list and, without any second thought, she’d pushed herself off of the ledge and followed Hugo behind the tapestry. Quietly closing the door behind them, her breath was caught in her chest as they found themselves in utter darkness - waiting for the passerby to leave. Analise didn’t dare to breathe until the coasts were clear and, if who ever were out there had walked any slower, she was sure that she would turn blue.
“What are you doing out there?” she asked in a hushed whisper, “And Merlins, Hugo, you’re soaking wet.”

with: @hugosts where: an empty corridor when: late, late at night
It wasn’t that Analise never broke the rules - that would be a total lie. She was a cheeky sort of girl, the one who was always thinking of new practical jokes, but she generally tiptoed the line. After all, it was her life’s ambition to become the Head of the Auror Department and that was more easily achieved with a school record that wasn’t filled with detentions (and expulsions).
That night was a bit different though. It was pouring rain outside, the droplets pattering softly against the castle windows, and with it came a sense of quiet consideration within her. For a girl who was always analysing and always trying to manipulate the world around her, Analise didn’t do much thinking for herself. In fact, there were many things in her life that she generally avoided, pushing them into the back of her mind as though they were pointless dustmites. They were not, really.
Slipping out of the dormitory late at night, she found herself just seated by the window sill. She watched the rain against the glass, fascinated by how it created shadows on the moonlight that hit her skin. The rain always made her feel someways - and she wasn’t always appreciative of it. At the very least she was alone though, free from any need to be cautious of the people around her.

introduce
❝ I don’t see why knowing what I want, and taking whatever means is necessary to get what I want, should be considered a character flaw. ❞ KIM TAEYEON? No, that’s actually ANALISE KIM. A SEVENTH YEAR student, this SLYTHERIN student is sided with THE NEUTRALS. SHE identifies as a CIS-WOMAN and is a HALFBLOOD who is known to be CUNNING, CALCULATED, and SELFISH but also INTELLIGENT, STRONG, and SELF-CONFIDENT. { KITTY, TWENTY-SEVEN, GMT+10, SHE/HER }
If it were up to Analise, she would hide her blood status for the rest of her life but - alas - being part Veela wasn’t exactly easy to hide. Analise was merely an eighth Veela (sometimes a little more or a little less, depending on how her firewhiskey drunken mother felt).
She isn’t ashamed of being a halfblood, as she had always felt the whole blood purity thing was rather illogical, but is irritated that her heritage lends itself no real advantage aside from being pretty.
She had always wanted to be more than just her looks - and had been raised being told that she had to be more than that.
Her father (Markus Kim) was a decorated ministry Auror, a Ravenclaw alumni and a strong, intelligent man whose ruthless tactics had won him many a battle. Although he cherished and loved his daughter, he also raised her in a no nonsense manner. He wanted her to be even greater than himself and Analise had always wanted the same.
Her mother (Jennifer Kim), on the other hand, was unemployed and spent all of her time gossiping with the mother ministry wives. Also a graduate of Hogwarts, she was a Slytherin alumni and had achieved her only goal in life - to marry a successful man and live her life in luxury.
Analise got along brilliantly with her father and, although she did fear him a little, she also respected and loved him more than anyone in the world.
With her mother, however, it was as though they were never on the same wave length. Their conversations would often end in arguments and tantrums.
Markus taught her everything he could and instilled within her his own belief - that an individual could achieve greatness, could do anything that they wanted to, so long as they were bold enough to do what others could not.
Unfortunately for little Analise, her father was killed in battle during her first year at Hogwarts. She received the news via owl and felt her world crumble around her. He was the only person she had ever respected in her entire life and she saw him as invincible.
Since then, all she had left was her mother and - frankly - Analise hated her. Jennifer seemed to mourn the loss of her dependency more than Markus as her husband. Her turning to alcohol only made it worse as Analise saw it as a pathetic weakness.
Since then, she seldom goes home during the holidays - because she wants to spend as little time with Jennifer as possible. The interactions between them are sparse, with maybe just an owl or two throughout the year.
Now that she felt that she was truly alone in the world, Analise became even more ambitious and ruthless as a person. She started to see everyone around her as opportunities and would only spend her time on things or people that pushed her towards her end goal - to become head of the Auror Department like her father wanted her to be.
She dedicated herself to both books and practical studies, whilst surrounding herself with only witches and wizards from the most influential families.
With her beauty, she had plenty of suitors both male and female too but had no interest in actual romance. From those who had shown interest in her, none had no power or influence that she craved. When ever someone would ask her out, she would ask back in return, “Why should I?”
In the Wizarding world battle, Analise continues to stay a neutral party, though her words and opinions may sway depending on who she is speaking to. She would side with whoever benefits her and had no real sense of moral or justice.
PERSONALITY
In general, Analise is a very calculated and headstrong sort of person. When she has a goal, she will work through what ever means to achieve it - whether it is her grades or even something as simple as wanting a new gown.
She is not afraid to lie, cheat or steal her way through situations. In her mind, petty laws and guidelines are only meant to restrain her potential.
That all being said, Analise is not overly cold or distant. She will pick and choose who to spend her time with and, if you are of benefit to her, then she will be particularly welcoming but otherwise, she will give you only the minimal attention.
For those who don’t know her well, she can come across as being quite intimidating. She maintains an elite social status while also being one of the top of her class.
For those that she is close to though, Analise can be rather cheeky and playful. She is full of jokes/pranks - generally at the expense of other people - and is not shy of any rule breaking.
