a little two am doodle!!! i've been having a really hard time making a davepeta design so this was to test some stuff out.... im still unsure of how i want them to look but i just know i love them both so much <3

(the height difference isn't that drastic davepeta just isn't standing all the way up)

knights and their god damn capes

i cant animate the void one but imagine the effect behind gastly, shadowy mist/fog/steam thing.i dont know what its called so if you let me know i will love you /p

ramble below blah blah blah with additional drawings and inspirations and explainationsfor eachof the aspect if you care

i also couldnt animate the space effect well, but imagine something like asriels god of hyperdeath form with THAT effects on the wings. or giygas's background. i couldnt figure out how to repeat the image pattern so i hope it looks okay.

space players have a star pointed shape at the end of their cape, with of course the space overlay playing in it (do not say stolas cape i will kill you (im aware i probably took some inspiration from it subconciously but i hate that cunt)

light players are simple. theyre supposed to look like the sun

rage players have a sharp, spikes at the end of their shape. also the image isnt clear but the symbol is supposed to look like fangs here because oh my god rage is such a pain in the ass to draw.

doom players have the tattered/destroyed cape, self explantory. symbol is supposed to be the death symbol from alchemy, with added spikes from the og symbol

heart players have... Hearts.

hope players always have wings in their cloak/ribbon/cape thing, so i thought it would be fun to do it for the knight too. the symbol is changed to a light on top of a pair of wings. shown with the maid here:

time players have squares at the end of the cape, i still love the fanon interpretation of it so i included it here. actually i forgot the actual canon designs dont have the cog-like shape lolol

life players have a bush-like texture to it. like a bunch of leaves sticking to the cape. it could probably grow flowers too but im not depicting them here. the symbol is changed to a nicer green with a dna strip

like i said, voids have a gastly shadowy effect in the cape. i also changed the void symbol to a black hole because it feels more fitting and different from space.

thats all. im not doing the entire aspect wheel since im tired and i dont really have a use for them or i couldnt think of something creative to add to it. feel free

a friend said something a while ago about how sburb wants there to be twelve gods of the new world at the end of a successful game, no more no less—it can’t exactly help it if there’s less than twelve players, but it purposefully makes it harder to succeed with less people, due to the chance of the absence of time and space players (like we see with the alpha kids) or with just an obscenely hard, punishing game (like we see with caliborn). however, if players cheat, and sessions are merged, the extraneous players are killed off in various ways, leaving one “priority” player of each aspect—except for time and space, the “most important” aspects, which are the only ones permitted to keep extras. the trolls are knocked off first, as the kids are seen as of higher priority due to being more recent players. the timeline is canonically insta-doomed if karkat or terezi die for good and we can assume this applies to sollux and gamzee as well, because sburb wants a blood, mind, doom, and rage player. dirk, roxy, jane and jake are introduced by skaia specifically to replace nepeta, equius, feferi and eridan as the combined session’s heart, void, life and hope players. aradia and kanaya are allowed to remain as heroes of time and space alongside dave and jade because they belong to vital aspects, as do caliborn and calliope. tavros yields to john, the “more important” hero of breath, and vriska, while she doesn’t actually die, is kept away from the new universe by the existence of rose, the “more important” hero of light. this leaves earth C with three heroes of space (counting calliope), three heroes of time (counting caliborn), and one hero of every other “lesser” aspect. we can assume that this was sburb’s grand design! it’s a game built with slots to be filled

i know this literally goes against how she looks in canon but i like to pretend that while dave, roxy, and dirk bleach their hair to lighten it, rose's hair was black for all of acts 1-5 until it was turned permanently white after she goes grimdark. she goes to dye it black on the meteor but she starts thinking about her mom and ends up not being able to go through with it

Sburb's Missing Texture

One thing that can cause a game to crash is a missing file. If an enemy or location is supposed to load an image for its texture and that file is damaged or missing, the game might crash.

One way games prevent that is to set a default "error" or "missing" texture, so that the object in question will look weird but the game will continue running.

Seeing as Sburb is a universe-encompassing game, you really, really don't want it to crash. So it would make sense to do this.

In which case, maybe you could see this 'missing' texture in...

Basic objects to which no texture has been applied,

entities from the game's barely-finished, glitched "solo player" mode,

or in foreign objects that operate outside the game's normal rules.

new alternian custom fonts... 2!

as promised i've finally gotten around to making more fonts for hiveswap new alternian! some more standard choices this time, along with the requested homestuck land font.

i've ALSO gone back and REDONE the first four fonts so that now they're more streamlined, and include punctuation and accurate sizing! i stuck with english punctuation so that all of the quirks would translate accurately.

all of the fonts should now be compatible with every canon troll's typing quirk except for damara, daraya, and potentially meulin.

these are free to use for whatever you like. i made all of them by hand, so sorry for any mistakes! i hope you enjoy!
