normal vs disordered: maladaptive daydreaming

normal: drifting off into a fantasy when travelling (as a passenger in a car, or bus, etc)

not normal: looking forward to quiet times in your day just so that you have a chance to daydream in peace

normal: taking a couple seconds to pull away from a daydream when someone calls for your attention

not normal: being so sucked into your daydream that it becomes hard for anyone to communicate with you

normal: having a good imagination

not normal: having such a vivid imagination that your imagination starts to mix with reality

normal: daydreaming to cope with boredom

not normal: daydreaming to cope with anything and everything. using daydreaming as a form of escapism

normal: only daydreaming when you have the time

not normal: your daydreaming interferes with your ability to complete daily tasks

everyone likes a nice daydream every now and then, but with maladaptive daydreaming, the daydream becomes the key coping mechanism. this means that it ends up interfering with your life, as you start to use it to cope with any uncomfortable situation. there are other coping mechanisms out there though, and you can learn how to daydream without it impacting your ability to live life!

Why on earth was the miraculous movie that was 1hr 40 mins better than the series that was carefully curated over around 8yrs? Thomas Astruc should be ashamed that that movie made his series and god-forsaken season 5 finale look like dogwater from the animation, to the ACTUAL ROMANCE DEVELOPING ,the songs , and that ADRIEN AND GABRIEL IDENTITY REVEAL! Cannot wait for the inevitable sequel based on that little end bit, and *loved* the running gag of ending the film right before they kissed :)
