Big news everybody!

I'm not dead lmao, but that's not the big news. The big news is that my lease is ending soon and Nicky, my gf, doesn't wanna live in the dorms anymore, so we're gonna get an apartment together!!

Our first anniversary just passed, so we're not rushing into anything, and she knows about the spidery stuff, so I don't have to worry about hiding that.

I'm a little nervous about living with a significant other for the first time, but mostly I'm just really, really excited.

It's officially been three years since the Vanishing.

I realized that that means I've been a vigilante for twice as long as Peter was. It's weird to think about, because every time I think about him, I remember a guy who had (most) things figured out, but he didn't.

Every year without him I learn more and more lessons the hard way. I think about the way things went down with Mysterio, and I can't help but think he'd be disappointed in me for falling for it. But I know that can't be true.

He was sixteen. We were both just kids. If I fell for Beck's bullshit with four years of experience under my belt—

I'm not sure there's a point to this. I guess I'm just realizing that Peter was human. He didn't have all the answers and he fucked up sometimes, but watching him take hits and get back up is why I didn't give up after my first fight with Rhino.

Peter wasn't perfect, but he was my best friend, and I don't want to keep using his memory to beat myself up, y'know?

Frankie: An opportunity to gush about my wife? Hell yeah!

Frankie: To say my life is exciting is an... understatement. I don't think I need to elaborate on that, but I bring it up because what I need/want from a partner is the exact opposite, which I know isn't something people tend to say. But I don't need someone to keep me on my toes or challenge me, I get enough of that from my villains. I do much better with someone familiar, stable, and grounding. Someone predictable, or someone who becomes predictable through years of knowing one another.

Frankie: I've definitely found that in Holly. Coming home after a hard fight or a stressful patrol makes me feel like I can just leave all that confusing shit outside. Like all the tangled strings of stuff I'm dealing with suddenly sort themselves into a flawless web. It's one of the reasons I love her so much.

Frankie: It took us time to get to this point, but I understand Holly, and who she is as a person, and being able to know what to expect from her is comforting, y'know? Anyway, it's your turn, Queens!

Peter: Oh, uhhh. I haven't really thought about this before.

Peter: With Johnny, I dunno, things are just easy, y'know? I needed someone who could get close to every part of me, not just Peter Parker, and not just as Spider-Man, and I think he needed the same, for different reasons. It's hard, knowing who actually cares about you, when you're as famous as he is.

Frankie: Listen, the others hate hearing this, but they're a bunch of hypocrites because would and have done the exact same thing. I'd sacrifice anything that is mine to sacrifice, for the people close to me. I'd sacrifice being Aurachnid, my job, my health, or even my life to protect the people I care about. It's a difficult balance that heroes have to work out for themselves, where and when a sacrifice is worth it. There were a dozen times in my early years where I could have forfeited my life to save a civilian in the moment, and it makes you feel terrible to realize that you shouldn't. Sure, you could give up your life right now and save that one person, but then who's left to stop Ock or Gobby or Carnage? Frankie: But when it's someone personal on the line? When it's your best friend, or your wife, or your parent whose life could be saved by you losing yours? I don't think there's a single hero out there who wouldn't jump between their loved ones and a blade. It's part of what makes us human. Frankie: I have been at this a pretty long time, about nine years so far, and while my baseline health is fine (I have all of my organs and they all function properly, I'm physically fit and I eat properly for my biology), I wouldn't say that I'm totally healthy. Frankie: When you have an enhanced metabolism/healing factor, it's really easy to neglect the way human beings actually heal, a lesson I learned the hard way, and still continue to learn. Sure, my metabolism heals my injuries better than usual, but it's never perfect, and considering just how often I tear, sprain, or break things, I should've known better than to neglect physical therapy, but the time for preventative maintenance has passed. Frankie: Years of being Aurachnid, years of being tossed through walls, stopping runaway trains, getting blown up, and just landing wrong have taken their toll on my body. I deal with a constant non-zero baseline for pain, and bad storms can leave me bed-ridden. That's why I nag Miles and Peter so much about doing their fucking stretches and physical therapy. It's not a guarantee, but it certainly improves the odds.

Frankie: Haha! Well it's certainly not good for me. I mean, I was in a really shitty place after the Vanishing, and during my time on the run, the isolation got so bad that I considered turning myself in a couple times. So, yeah, I try not to be alone for long periods of time, if I can help it.

Holly: Same here, though for different reasons. While my Oshtoran Syndrome won't kill me anymore, I still deal with a lot of health issues, including neurological and psychological issues. I take medications and treat the symptoms, but it is chronic. Solitude is not great for my mental health, and when my mental health is worse, my neurological symptoms tend to get worse, and then I feel shitty about that, which makes them even worse- You get the point.
