News again! I'm going to take a break yet again, the final weeks of the semester are coming, chasing after me like a Skyrim enemy that I hit once by accident, and they're about to one hit me like a dark souls boss.

Weeks of exams and assignments are on their way so, I'll be back after I've survived or something similar (after the middle of May possibly). I'll be here lurking.

omg I didn't know Pickles was this Irish (in design). Like okay red hair and green eyes, high voice, but

plaited hair (the method to twist it or braid more hair strands together to appear thicker), balding, long forehead, long sideburns, mustache&beard, white long-tunic (later robe)

(I love how he also wore his white robe before doomstar requiem. he just has two bathrobes. one dethklok themed and one basic)

(He's not left handed, he's just in the middle of practicing his left hand writing so he'd become ambidextrous. Perfectionist freak /lh)

One of my dearer memories was when I've "studied" with my siblings outside in the garden on a blanket. Practically I just pranked them and hung out with them while they were trying to study (I wasn't in school yet). But it was always so relaxing rather than boring. So I took on this memory as an inspiration to share. ^^

Early Access!

I got down so many ideas, I'm not even sure if I can finish them by summer, but I already have a summer one posted so I guess a little slip is okay :3

So with this rewind, I am letting yall know, that I am currently working on a patreon site for posting lineart versions of all of my drawings, the early accesses (this is where the "nude" pictures come in, which is mostly just me not putting clothes on them yet on their shoulders and not covering up faces with hair, I don't draw on details, so it should be still safe) in full picture (bc if you noticed I always cropped them to not spoil much and to keep them safe from theft), behind the scenes (experimental), and probably some other bonuses that I forgot about.

You'll be able to select with the tiers which contents you want to see (mtl fandom, old fandoms, manga; linearts, earlies, etc or all)

This is for two reasons: 1) I want to preserve my linearts for safety and my google drive is running out of space, plus i support the idea of others printing them out for coloring it themselves (sharing the results with the right credits of course if one choses to post it, a name mention is enough) 2) This way I'm letting people support me if they want to financially as well, I'm keeping a low price on all of them

Once my patreon site is out I'll reblog this or pin it.

I felt the need to redraw Pickles with the Secret of Kells movie style (aka Irish cartoon style as far as I know it).

I drew over the scenes (I'm sorry not sorry, time is precious to a uni student and this was only out of fun), and added some minor changes so he looks more like this Irish lad. Went with the bathrobes since the character had a robe on too.

(I love how the og character of Secret of Kells had ear piercings, and nearly everyone in it too. It's now part of his culture💙)

(In the first pic, he's making- khm...well he uses herbs. In the original it's just for ink, but we all know what's Pickles doing.)

Fun thing about Metalocalypse, is that even if they were seemingly low budget when it came to actual animation in the series, it's still full of little details and I absolutely support that.

I love how not only they have portrayed the two most responsible characters (as Charles said) as two lifelong best friends, but also as the parents of the band.

Even before we've got the movie saying (by Knubbler) how Nathan is the father, and Pickles is the mother, they were represented by their totem animals who are also great parents in nature.

Nathan's totem animal:

The crocodile, (the male ones too) end up carrying their kids all the time and helping them out of their shells if it's needed, in the most dangerous looking but actually gentlest way.

Much like how Nathan is, intimidating on the outside, and very capable of defending and killling, yet he carries Toki down the ladder escape, high in the air, thrown over his shoulder, holding him down tight by one hand so he can still climb down with the other.

And then there's Pickles' totem animal:

The octopus, (the mother ones) that will literally starve themselves to death just to make sure their kids are safe at all times, until they hatch. And they will rather sacrifice themselves for predators than leave.

Given the fact that it's rather tragic, I'm happy Pickles got a less intense but just as proving moment, when he got convinced enough by the band's worry, and accepted to go to rehab even if he could handle alcohol the best out of them all and it kinda appeared uncalled for.

Even if he tried to escape to go back home already worrying, feeling dried out as hell, he fought for them. He completed the course for them, forgave his brother to pull his life together, left rehab, and came back home to save all of them from the robot-octopy gone wild that tried to replace him. You can destroy a metal killer-machine robot, but you can't stop Pickles on a rampage when it comes to saving/taking care of his band.

Only Nathan can make his room romantic enough to be fit for a first date. They are already above cloud nine. Especially Pickles, being held so close in Nathan's big arms...

Originally I planned on having half the height of this painting, but then I saw Nathan's room. So now we have the octopus decoration, the whiskey glasses (kinda hidden), the cinnamon bun, and the already gone drinks with candlelight.
