What's a fun thing you've done out there?

Greetings!

One fun event that I have encountered while in The User world is “water skiing”! Flynn has a boating license and he took me out on the water one day to let me try it out. I was a little wobbly at first of course, but soon after I found my footing and discovered it to be quite fun.

I'm sorry you got in time out because you tried to dive to the bottom of the ocean. If you get the chance, you should take some swimming lessons. Swimming is very fun and relaxing if done safely.

Haha, oh no, no—I do know how to swim. The only problem with the User World is that I require oxygen now. Back on the Grid we could easily swim to the bottom of the Sea of Simulation if we so desired. In this new world, though, oxygen restricts me from my goal of reaching the bottom of Earths seas, unfortunately. I understand this now after Flynn sat me down in time-out and told me about how breathing worked.

For now, I will stick to swimming near the surface rather than just going full on in.

Tron, have you had an existential crisis yet knowing that programs are responsible for sending and delivering these messages, including the security programs who are securing the data on its way?

No, I can’t say that I have. It makes sense that these programs are just doing their jobs, after all, we are all programmed with a purpose and they are just fulfilling theirs. I may not be inside a system anymore, but I have this new outside perspective. A new understanding and thankfulness. We are all important in the end. We all contribute to the way things are. And that is truly beautiful.

Even you, anon, have a purpose. You just have to find out what it is. You are destined to do great things.

Oh, my! Hello! Are you... An older me? I'm "little" Tron! I hear you're in the User world, that sounds incredible! How did you accomplish that, older me?

It appears that I am talking to an earlier version of my code, haha! What a thing to run into. It’s so nice to meet you! I do believe that I am a more up-to-date version, so therefore I would be “older”.

It was none of my doing to get myself into the User world, Smaller Me. You can thank Flynn for that. The only reason why I would be picked to go, however, is that I was told that I deserve a break. Not sure if that is true or not, but I believe Flynn’s words.

As for the second half of the question, I believe Flynn took me out of the Grid to better understand the Users. Or at least—I think so. You are making me second guess myself. “Nothing bad happened” is a strange thing to open a question with. Are you alright?

My relationship with Dyson is “swell” as Flynn would put it. Dyson and I are good friends. He is busy, like Clu, overseeing the Grid while I am away. Once or twice I have contacted him to make sure he’s alright, otherwise I haven’t spoken to him much.

Dear Anon,

You would be correct—I love to pet animals. Good observation! I have been taken to a petting zoo and I really enjoyed myself there. So many animals to see. I can’t remember all the names of them, though. My favourite of them all would be the llama.

Here I have given an accurate illustration of myself with the llama. My artistic abilities are not the greatest, but I have tried my best.

I very sincerely hope one day Flynn creates one and puts it inside of the Grid.

Thank you for caring so much about Programs though, and about me specifically. I’m trying very hard to adapt to this world and it seems to be treating me okay to far. You’re right about having to look out for things that could injure us. That’s important. I feel for Alan-one—“Pop”. It’s good he knows now about the sun, unfortunate that he had to learn that way, however.

Are you still on the Grid, or are you here with me in this world? Perhaps someday we could meet up. I’d like that.
