George's writing is so good, like he can write the minorest of characters, let them appear for one chapter, and I'll still think about them from time to time. Like, do you know how much I hope that Lady Smallwood of Acorn Hall is doing well, that her daughter in Oldtown will be safe? Do you know how much I love rereading the chapters with Nimble Dick Crabb? Lady Hornwood? Satin Flowers?

He can round up peasants accused of crime and execute "justice" on them without trial. He can use a common woman who society already views as disposable as a pawn in a childish scheme to get his brother's attention. He can not even bother to make sure he's not stepping on his own men in battle. He can kill a messenger for delivering a message he doesn't like. He can commit a war crime by misusing a peace banner. He can kill his first wife, isolate his second wife from her family, neglect his daughter for not having a dragon. He can do ALL that, but you have trouble believing he could choke his niece/wife who've he's groomed since she was a young girl? That's not your Daemon?

Okay, hmm..I haven't watched the episode yet but I saw a leak and hmmm...not sure if I like the idea of Aemond getting his culpability taken away from....hmm. Feels like the writer's might be both siding a bit too hard there. I guess we'll see when the episode officially drops but... I'm a little worried

"WHY DIDN'T RHAENYS KILL THE GREENS?"
1. Rhaenys doesn't want to be responsible for the death of her extended family, kinslaying is one of the worst things you can do in Westeros
2. She doesn't want to be the first person to start this war, this isn't her fight necessarily it's Rhaenyra's and there's still the tiniest glimmer of hope that peace can still prevail
3. Killing Alicent and company DOES NOT solve the problem, Rhaenyra would still have to deal with the all the lords and ladies who swore to Aegon, plus killing Otto and Alicent would probably bring Otto's brother to call his banners and lead to a chain reaction that could further delve the realm into war.
4.She has absolutely no way to hold the city or the castle if anyone were to put up resistance, she has no force except Meleys and a few retainers if she brought any from Driftmark. Dragons are powerful but not invincible.
5. I think this was a pointed final message to Alicent to really consider what she's bringing her family into if she proceeds down the war path. Rhaenys talked to Alicent about her complicity in the actions of the men around her and suggested she take power. Rhaenys believes that Alicent might be the only one in King's Landing who could broker peace before an all out war starts

Alicent literally admitting to Rhaenys that she would’ve been a better ruler than viserys !! That viserys would’ve been better as a nobleman, that Rhaenys was better fit and being passed off because she was a woman was mistake, only to THEN ASK rhaenys to do the same thing to Rhaenyra. Like alicent must know that Rhaenyra is better fit than aegon, the rapist who doesn’t even want the crown, but despite that alicent feels compelled to unseat the true queen for a man. It’s such a great depiction of how the patriarchy works because until Rhaenys points out that alicent could be on the throne, alicent only ever thought of her position as one to guide the men who hold power over her to peace. Alicent is such a victim to the brainwashing of Otto and the society around her, but god does that not justify how her actions affect the women around her
